Comcast has screwed up my account rendering hot spot useless and not working for me. My problem was first discovered over a month ago. I was made to believe they were working to fix the hot spot restriction, but after a month found out the techs were lying to me. This has happened to me many times in the past. Finally today on 7/29, I was told comcast will do nothing to fix the restriction and I just have to go without this service using hot spot internet. The hot spot service was the only reason why I have tolerated the excessive charge of $300+/month. My home internet drops routinely and not dependable in the second largest municipality outside of Chicago. Only thing they are good for are headaches and ulcers. My advice is use another provider. I'm going to change and sure it will be much cheaper and dependable. Wish I could give them less than one star. read more

I was told by the agent that the only changes I would see were faster internet speed and a reduction in my monthly bill by $5. He explicitly said there would be no change in my channel lineup. And, yet, a few weeks later, I just discovered they dropped Showtime without telling me. Terrible service! When I called to seek some kind of compensation or credit, I got no dice. Customer service is absolutely atrocious. Been a customer for over 15 years with Comcast & Xfinity. Final straw was this week. They put me on a new plan to lower my bill....I got rid of the land-line and Netflix, and was told I'd have all the same channels and internet service. Turns out I only had 30 channels. To fix it, my bill is now higher than when I had a landline. I spent almost 3 hrs with customer solutions and spoke with 4 different people...lots of lies and friendly voices by people who can't help. So, about a month ago I reached out because my bill had gone up. They informed me its because my promotion had expired, no big deal. Before I could even say anything the agent was saying they had a deal for me! Did I want to know what it was? I figured sure, why not? They go on to tell me they can get me my old promotion back taking my bill back to what it was. Awesome, right? A month later I've been charged the new bill price and I reached back out to make sure my next bill at least would go back to normal. I repeat the whole story even though I gave them the reference number. The agent tried to say I wasn't promised anything. However, I had taken a screen shot of the chat and word for word quoted what the agent said promising me my old disocunt. He then transfers me to a supervisor because he says he is having technical problems, okay no big deal. The superviser then begins to tell me that no, I will not be getting the discount as the package is no longer available. Okay. I said I understood its not avaiable but I was promised that I would be returned to the pervious balance of my bill. I have screen shots proving this was agreed. Again, they are repeating the package is no longer avaialble. This goes on for about another 10-15 minutes of me asking questions, asking if there is anything else they can offer, asking for a supervisor, asking for an email for customer service only to be told again and again the package is not avaialble. I had zero issues with paying the new bill to begin with. But was then promised it would be no problem to get it back to what it was only to end up wasting more of my time and dealing with rude customer service agents who didnt even really listen to what I was asking, just continued to say the package was unavialable. Safe to say I am now looking for another provider. I dont even care if it cost more because working in hospitality myself, I refuse to put up with terrible customer service. read more

Had to go to 7th street Xfinity store in D.C. to get my bill straightened out. The person that helped me was a temp manager covering for the normal store manager. His name is Bryan Clark, an assistant manager at the Silver Spring office, and the service he provided was nothing short of exceptional. I was ill-prepared for everything we accomplished and had to search for passwords and user names. He was very patient as I muddled through, and he spent a great deal of time making sure everything was okay. Really disappointed with Xfinity, I've had no service for over a week now, Mind you I am paying for internet service. Last Monday some jerk decided to cut the cable wire attached to the building that basically has been hanging low for the past 3 years I've lived here. I have called Xfinity to let them know the wire was hanging no one ever came out to fix it. Anyway, once the cable was cut I no longer has internet service. I've called to set up appointments each time the technician has supposedly come out and called I've missed the calls with their 1 time attempts and so he/she left, if he/she really even showed up. This happened 2 days in a row. I was told they would have the technician text me. Well that never happend. Even after I confirmed the appointment several times. The tech NEVER CAME TO MY FRONT DOOR AND Knocked!!! So for two days I sat in my apartment waiting for nothing to happen. The agent I spoke to yesterday was helpful and nice and understanding, I cant remember her name unfortunately. But, the agent today Angela wasn't understanding and hung up on me. I think I had the right to be upset with how this process had been handled. I called back and spoke to a couple of other agents they were nicer. Lieh was helpful and rescheduled my appointment for a 3rd time and she was a lot more understanding and pleasant. If they don't connect me on the 3rd appointment I'm done with Xfinity. read more

I had a fantastic Xfinity Wifi technician, Frank Black who came out to help us install internet. The technician was polite, knowledgeable, repsectful, and was able to come up with a solution to get our unit Wifi (after the building manager did not think it was possible to get internet from Xfinity). He spent extra time trying to troubleshoot, and he made it work, and he even took the time to answer my questions about how the hardware worked. If only these review aps had a "minus zero" rating...the bad ratings this company would receive would crash this site in 10 minutes. This is literally the worst company ever...EVER. Customer service training for new hires most likely consists of "Lying 101, then "Lying 102", then "Advanced Lying" and finally "Retention Lying." In January, I spent 40 minutes on the phone to try to get our bill for basic internet service (we don't have cable) to a reasonable amount. It had been incrementally raised by Comcast over the months from a starting fee of $65.00/month and then steadily increased to $135/month. We could no longer afford this on a fixed income. The Xfinity rep I spoke with in January regarding reducing the bill stated that she had "adjusted" my bill to bring it down to an acceptable $70/a month (she said in perpetuity). We received one bill for @$70 in February and were pleased with the adjusted amount .... and then SURPRISE.... Comcast immediately raised our bill the next month (March) to $97! When I called to complain the "new rep" said she could find NO record of our January conversation with the "Retention Rep" who lowered our bill. So, we're back up to $97 basic and climbing, and with all the additional fees added we'll probably be above the $135/month as payback for complaining in the first place. Don't believe anything the "retention rep" at Comcast tells you about adjusting your bill or giving you a promotional discount....it is to only keep you on the hook with Comcast and get you off the phone asap. What's noteworthy here is that customer service is dead, company accountability is dead and monopolies like Comcast rule the day. We have very limited, but other options. read more

They set appointment windows that are several hours wide, then don't show up... so you took time off of work for them to not show up, not call, not care. Your internet router reboots several times a day... then goes down completely, but intermittently, all the time. It's nearly impossible to navigate their phone system. Miserable!!! read more

Since my entire three page saga is five times as long as reviews are should be, let me try and create the most concise description of why I am giving 1 star to Comcast and why I advise my beloved friends and family members to think otherwise before ordering their service. - They sent me a self install kit when my service could not be self installed - They transferred me to different departments like a hot potato- no one could help - They did not show up for my first scheduled appointment and would not give any info to my roommate even though she was the call-back number for the technician. - They created a second appointment for me, I rushed back from vacay to wait for the technician, and when I called to ensure he was on his way... they had no record of the second appointment that was set. - I've spent hours with them on the phone and have no service - The wait time for another technician to come out (even though that's a pipe dream) was too long - The communication barriers amongst the staff there is incomprehensible - 5 days after setting up my box I do not have service This Comcast location has a 1 star average... Hello, my name is Angela Jackson. I'm the niece of Arnell Stewart. My aunt is 88 and until COVID she was very active. Now, not so much. Television is her main source of entertainment. I believe this began in October 2020 when her Xfinity promotion ended. The following month, her bill almost doubled. So we changed it to decrease her bill. In November, we made another change to her package because the package she had no longer included Turner Classic Movies (TMC). (Question: can I charge you when you change (removing TMC) my package at any given time?) To make this long story short, in the past 4 months, because of the changes to her packages, slow mail (checks not being received for almost 2 months) it has cost her approximately an additional $700. When I called to question why, I was told that we agreed to these changes, thereby agreed to this outrageous amount. Had I known that it would cost her an additional $200 each time to make a change in the middle of a billing cycle, I never would've agreed to that.  Instead of assuming your consumers read all the fine print; why not put it right up front in big bold letters that state TO MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR ACCOUNT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BILLING CYCLE WILL COST YOU UP TO $200. The intent was to lower her bill, which you did, by a whole $14. But at the end of the month it cost her approximately $200 more! In what universe does that make sense? I am so disappointed with your billing (extortion) practices. Especially given that my aunt is 88 and on a fixed income. Instead of holding her channels/TV hostage, you should be giving her a "seniors' discount". My husband and I have been Comcast customers for over 30 years. I've always given you high ratings and when asked if I'd recommend you to a friend, it had always been a resounding yes. Now, I cannot say that I would recommend you. If I could give Comcast "No Stars" I would. The service has been horrible. We ordered installation of new service and it took Comcast over a month before me they could drop and bury New a new line. I kept calling Comcast and everyone provided different information. No consistent information was ever provided but every person I spoke to Kept saying let me pull up notes on your account. I really do not understand why Comcast can NEVER get anything correct. The only reason why I have stayed with them is because I work from home and need internet. I have had nothing but problems with them and every single time, it takes MONTHS to correct the situation. This go around - I called to MOVE my service from one house to another. My pricing is off, I cannot log in and after spending over an hour on the phone, I come to find out that they did NOT transfer the service, but instead, disconnected, started a new service at the new house, set up a new user ID and, of course, a price difference. When I asked about the price difference, she said I was NOT enrolled in automatic deductions even though SHE SAW that my payment was AUTOMATICALLY withdrawn from my account. Xfinity has been having some kind of issue in the potomac area. Since 11/8/2022 we have basically had no internet or cable. They say it's an "outage" which is completely false, they have been shutting our internet and cable down so they can fix whatever is wrong with their system. It's outrageous that they can do this to customers, without internet nobody can do work from home, can't watch anything, can't arm alarm systems. I have called them almost every day, at first they say there is no outage (outright lie), I tell them I know there is, they finally admit to it, say today will be the last day, the customer service agent actually hung up on me today when upon her suggestion she put me on hold to check with the field technician to see what is wrong. I have been with xfinity for over 3 years, exclusively because they're the only ISP available in my area. In my time with them i have had intermittent internet, in which every time I spoke with a representative they would prioritize bs'ing and upselling me rather than just solving the problem that I call about. Their call center is also less than satisfactory, given how difficult it can be to get in touch with a human being in the first place. Calling the call center frequently leads to me being prompted to restart my modem, to be connected with a representative, in which case when I am finally connected to a rep they ask me to restart my modem. Under no circumstances would I recommend xfinity or xfinity products to anyone. read more

Sometimes a single experience can change one's mind. Overall, my experience with Comcast/Xfinity had been 'iffy' at best. I'm in a high-rise building that was wired by Comcast, creating a captivate audience, and there were far more problems in the first year than in 20+ years with Cox. However, things changed rather dramatically when my 5-year-old modem failed on Friday. Instead of waiting days for an in-home replacement during this very difficult time, I had next-morning service and the technician, Chris, reset everything three times until the connection was secure, waited until I tried several websites and sent several messages--and gave me his cell number, 'just in case'. I've decided that every time my internet is browned out, I'm going to give this review for their bad service... How do I know it's bad service? It usually happens in the evenings and fixes itself late at night/ early AM, and it happens more frequently on weekends. This has happened hundreds of times over the past 3 years, and at first I'd go through the motions of calling (I can't use Internet) their help number. The routine goes: After playing automated option bingo for an hour, I'd finally press the right numbers to speak to a "technician" who'd read off a standardized list of ways this could be my fault. He'd assure me there's no such thing as internet brownouts (even though everyone I've ever talked to about it has experienced them), he'd tell me that according to his system I have internet and it's working fine. He'll ask me if I've checked my connection (which I've done several times before I called), checked my modem (which is brand new and working fine), and suggest I get a new one (which I've done even though the previous one is also working fine). If all else fails he'll tell me that Xfinity can send out someone to check my wires for me, at my expense of course. It'll cost me about a hundred dollars. Since this is a brownout, it'll be back on by the time the technician arrives 2 days later, but I'll still have to pay for it. I pay Xfinity $79 a month for internet, and 50% of the time it's down. This service it terrible, and if there were any actual competitors I would switch to them. read more

The tech walks in starts opening doors without even asking for permission, my sisters are living with me, and you cannot just start barging into rooms like that. Then he tells me that I am lucky that he is here then he leaves stating that he felt uncomfortable. So he felt uncomfortable because I told you can't open doors like that?
