I opened a YELP just to complain about XFinity and AAA. I got a deal from Xfinity to pay $41.65 a month until Dec 2020. Even have it confirmed on a social media email. I went out of town and had someone staying at my place. I paid for almost a year of Xfinity. It ran out much quicker than I thought. I looked at all my bills they RAISED ME TO OVER $61.00/month in Dec 2018 .. so they've been jyping me $20 month for 7 months. VERY ANGRY at them for being so sneaky. All I have is internet. Another Xfinity / Comcast screw job...my cable and internet service had been out due to weak signal strength since Jan 15...had tech out on the 17th to verify that the problem was outside my property...and showed very weak signal strength Problems were extremely weak signal strength where consistently on television screens all that was show were their mesgs stating loss of signal and several error codes. I had called and reps said they couldnt tell me when the service would be repaired since they have to work it out for the area and not my house directly It wasnt until approx the the weekend of Feb 16th that signal strength appeared to be fixed. So now COMCAST is saying that all they would be providing would be a $12 credit to my account because I only called one day....and that if I was still having problems...that I needed to call every day when there was disruption. What a screw job that if they are aware of the problem..that I still need to call them every single day to call for a credit to my account. I am having to pay for a month of cable and internet service that fell way below acceptable service....and they are penalizing me for not calling them every single day...when they were fully aware of the problems Comcast is totally losing another customer if they dont make this right read more

Every month have issues with slow speeds and troubleshooting calling in having to reboot system. No live agents due to overwhelming complaints. Rather pay more instead of being ripped of by this company that is so inept it's not worth the hassle or stress any longer. Today, they interrupted service at 9:00 a.m. without notice due to technician working in the area and I think they burned up my modem in the process. Now they're telling me they can't connect and a technician can't be scheduled for at least another week!!!! Going back to verizon effective Saturday quicker install date and far better service without question. I have been COMCAST customer for years here in Washington DC because they have had a monopoly in the area as the only cable service provider. We no longer have cable, only internet. The internet service gets more expensive and you don't get the speed that you pay for. The connectivity has been getting worse with the constant outages. Likely going under sooner, rather than later, due to their unethical business practice and lousy customer service. I noticed a trend of bait and switch on Yelp and the same happened to me. I was promised a lower cost and the same channel lineup if I updated my elderly mother's package. I explained twice that her favorite channel is Turner Classic Movies and was reassured twice that there would be no changes. Mysteriously, my mother's favorite channel disappeared and I was informed that it would cost an additional $20/month to reinstate it. Similar to other complaints on Yelp, staff are apparently told to lie, and inform customers that they are unavailable to connect to an elusive supervisor/manager. If I could leave a negative star I would. It's nearly impossible to get someone on the phone when you have an issue and once you do, they most likely barely understand English. Technicians don't communicate with the rest of the company and the reps apparently don't leave any notes either, so every time you call you have to re-explain yourself. Horrible customer service. Our of our cable boxes stopped working so I contacted their 'customer service'. First I had to use their Xfiinty online assistant which did a system refresh that didn't work. Then I tried Xfinity chat, the person on the chat line tried some troubleshooting which didn't work so they said they would schedule a technician to come out and fix the problem. Then I received a text message the next morning stating that the problem was resolved, which it wasn't. Then I called the Xfinity support phone line they said that there was no appointment scheduled for a technician to fix the problem and that for one to come out we would need to pay a $100 service fee. So I contacted the Xfinity complaint line and was told by someone named Leah that if a technician came out and the problem was inside the house we would have to pay the service fee. So since the cable box is inside the house we have to either pay xfinity to fix/replace their own equipment that has stopped working or spend our own time to unhook the box, take it to an XFinity location to get a replacement, and then set it back up ourselves. Time to start looking for a new cable, internet, and mobile provider. read more

Don't ever get internet with Comcast. It's a total scam. The actual speed I get for a $70-plan is 3.6Mbs (using speedtest.net). A neighbor just switched to Starry and gets 160Mbs actual speed for $50, modem included. I've been paying for their service and they increase the monthly fee every year. Awful service, the worst customer experience I've ever had. I made a yelp account just to write this review. We've had Xfinity internet for about 4-5 weeks (we got it when moving to this area) and every single day we have outages. After untold hours on hold or messaging robots we've had a total of 3 technicians come out to our home. All of them have told me they solved my issues and closed their tickets, none of them have fixed or even improved our issues. Each service tech gave me their contact information but in many cases they have stopped responding to my messages. I work from home and this has a huge impact on my livelihood. read more

Never again! Signed up for xfinity after 15 years with Verizon. My wife arranged to be home for the install on Friday at 5. Got a text from xfinity that installer was on the way so wife was ready, door unlocked waiting for a knock. Then got a text from xfinity that they found nobody home and left. Loser installer just wanted to go home and lied to his dispatcher. We checked our ring doorbell footage and he never got out of the vehicle, just drove by and kept going. Dispatcher couldn't get him back and the next install was 6 days later. F- xfinity and Comcast. CHECK YOUR BILLS CAREFULLY. THEY ARE THEIVES. They engage in such predatory billing practices that I am surprised they are not under investigation for theft. Charged me for repair outside our home twice and when I called, the rep I spoke with admitted that they automatically charge their customers for any/all repairs even when the customers are not responsible for covering the costs. If you/the consumer catch them and call they would take it off your bill if not, you end up paying for the services you are not responsible for. BTW this has been happening the past couple of years. Just spent an hour and a half getting a quote on new service. I agreed to the service, equipment and price that the sales rep quoted me. He then transferred me to the installation dept where we went over everything again and they increased the price by $30/month for the same exact thing. The installation dept says they aren't able to speak with the sales rep for me to find the discrepancy and they don't know why he quoted me that price. It's a scam. They quote you a lower price and by the time you reach installation they think you'll agree to anything. I asked multiple times to speak with a manager, but apparently those don't exist. What a joke. I've been a Comcast Cable customer for a few years now, but never felt compelled to share my experiences before now. I recently moved to the Reston, VA area, and my experiences have been mostly negative with a few exceptions. It is very hit or miss, and since I had some persistent issues with my service, devices, and billing, some experiences really stood out to me. First of all, appointments made with the Comcast staff are rarely kept. I think that they have some issues with dispatch as well as with those scheduling appointments; on three different occasions, I made myself available to be at home during a service window only to wind up waiting around for several hours for nothing, only to speak later to a clueless and unapologetic representative when I called to check what was up. Another notable difficulty that I have had is with the overall willingness to understand and correct a problem. I find that some service technicians really care about providing outstanding service, and take ownership of solving an issue. I have to give major props to Jeff Morris, who came to my home to help fix an issue. He finally solved the problem that I was having with my setup and devices and even got a long standing billing problem resolved by helping me reach out to the proper channels. Overall, I'm not that unhappy with my cable service, but less than genuine employees who walk away from a problem (or just don't show up) has slightly tarnished my overall view of the service technicians and the overall operation in Reston, VA. read more

DO NOT GET COMCAST! Please read this story before choosing a cable provider in the DC area. It will be worth it. I signed up for a TV/Internet bundle for $89.99 at the beginning of 2013. The sales associate that sold me this package assured me that my price would not go up and it was not just a "promotional deal," the sort of thing that would go up after the first 3 months or something similar. With the employee's assurance, I set up automatic billing. That was my first mistake. When I received my first bill, I noticed that an equipment fee of $9.95 plus additional fee's and tax brought the total up to $112.00. No Big Deal. During the second month of Comcast service, the internet began failing. Comcast charged me $30.00 THREE TIMES to have a service man come up to the apartment and tell me everything was alright (based on his readings). The internet was never fixed. My real troubles started more recently. I got notification that a payment had not been processed correctly and I was charged a 20% late fee on my bill. The error in processing was on Comcast's end. It took me 3 hours over the phone to get the issue resolved, plus a $5.00 "talk to an account executive fee". While I was on the phone, I observed another issue. I had been charged over $140.00 per month without ANY notification or warning (phone call, email or letter) of price increase for the past 3 months. When I inquired as to why, the employees could not give me an answer. I proceeded to get locked into a loop on the phone for over 4 hours in an attempt to get a straight answer as to why my monthly fee has increased so drastically. In the end, I asked to speak to a manager. The employee transferred me to a person who was not even affiliated with Comcast. When I called back, I spoke with another woman who promptly gave me attitude hung up on me (I understand these employees should not be held accountable for poor business practices, so I wasn't even rude to her. I was just asking her very direct questions that she obviously couldn't answer). I have never had a worse experience with ANY company in my life. BEWARE! Comcast WILL nickel and dime you whenever they get the chance. It then becomes very difficult to do anything about it due to their automated phone system and untrained employees (their internet site is just as bad and will not let you change your password due to an error in their system that has been present for over a year). They are a collective incompetent disaster. Use anyone else if possible. Unfortunately I just moved into a building where they are the only option, and they've gone below and beyond my worst expectations. I'll sum up the highlights: 1. I called (reluctantly) and ordered service...then nothing happened. No confirmation of any kind. I called back a few days later, they had no record I ever placed an order, so I had to do it all over again. 2. When my "equipment" came for a home install, It was only a remote. No cable box, no modem. Just a remote. 3. They re-sent the equipment, it was a standard cable box as opposed to the HD I ordered. It was also grimy, dirty and had a nasty thick film of dirty fingerprints on it. They told me if I want HD it's an extra $10 a month. 4. They overcharged me, by a lot. My first bill came and it was $50 more than they said it would be. Turns out they started billing me 3 weeks before I even ordered service. They will constantly screw up your bill, you will call in to have it fixed, they will tell you it's corrected, but most likely the changes will not happen. Being a Comcast customer is a constant struggle. If you must use them, keep a diary of every interaction and look over every bill in detail. They will try to steal from you. read more

The last thing you want to do is place an order online, getting double to quadrupole charged, speak with someone who doesn't know English, then get confirmation the order is placed and on the way and 36 hours later call and require more information despite the fact you ordered it from your account with your card. Customer Service is a black hole that is designed to waste your time, wear you out and acclimate customers to extremely substandard service. Recently went through a move and found the Movers Edge program to be the largest pile of dung ever compiled to sap labor resources from a corporation I have witnessed in my entire career. Spent hours (~8 hours) talking to those idiots to facilitate a move. In the end, I had to contact state and federal consumer protection agencies, move my security services to another vendor, and had to essentially start a new account. It took me longer to move my Xfinity services through the Movers Edge (Movers Nightmare) than it took me to move all other utilities, arrange and scope my moving company, hire contractors to renovate my new home and to review and sign all closing documents on the purchase of our new home. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!! Dead serious! This is the price we pay for free market capitalism. Xfinity has almost a complete Monopoly, lack of competitiveness, no focus on customers, no customer choice (choices are Dumb and Dumberer, Comcast and Verizon FIOS), they spy on our network traffic, interfere with consumer traffic, inject advertisement into network traffic, do not support Net Neutrality, and really do not care about customers. read more

I could write for days about how TERRIBLE Comcast is in every way. We have no other company that services our apartment so there's no choice for us. I still use wireless xfinity wifi instead of our home network because of how slow the connection is. 1. Our first technician realized we needed a post wire so he couldn't help us, but he did schedule the appointment for post wire installation. 2. Next technician came not knowing we needed a post wire so he was also unhelpful, but scheduled the new appointment for us. 3. Comcast sent us an unrequested second modem which they charged us for. 4. A technician never came to install the internet even when we had an appointment scheduled. We got charged for the installation. 5. Of the several people we spoke with on the phone only ONE of them had understandable English. He sent out a technician to figure out why our internet was ridiculously slow and we ended up getting charged for that visit! The worst part is that our internet speed is unchanged. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about this company. Comcast and all that is therein is the epitome of incompetency. I would go so far as to suggest that if an apartment you are considering to rent is only serviced by Comcast, find a new place. Here's a tip: Cancel your autopay because they WILL charge you for services not provided or for errors that they make. And they make plenty. read more

If I could give negative stars i would, unfortunately i can only give them one. Xfinity is probably the worst cable provider i've ever experienced in my entire life! I recently moved to Maryland and unfortuantely Xfinity is the only cable and internet provider in the area i reside. What's so terrible about them? To start with: While looking at their different deals and plans online and after speaking with representatives, me and my boyfriend settled on one. It was a triple package with 75 Mbps, cable with like 150 channels and a phone. I personally want the many channels and my boyfriend needs the very fast internet speed that allows more than one device accessing it. We both did not care for the phone, but accepted the deal only because the overall cost was lower than any other deal. We did this all with the customer service people and finally they sealed us in. After about two weeks with our stuff, all of a sudden our cable went down to 50 channels and the internet speed went down to 30 Mbps. So of course i was pretty annoyed. I contacted customer support, and they said because we never got the phone they discontinued our service and reduced it.... Like are you kidding me?! I paid for the 75 internet speed 150 channels.. yes we didn't care for the phone but we still paid the fees for this service. So how are you going to disconnect everything, WITHOUT NOTICE! I feel like the original lady should've told us ahead of time about this. ALSO I READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS and NOWHERE DID IT SAY THAT WAS MANDATORY! So again, it should've been somewhere or i should've been told ahead of time that this would happen if i dont get a damn phone. So after arguing with the customer service because they at first said to me "no you never had that plan" like really?! I CAN SHOW YOU THE CONTRACT I SIGNED AND THE RECEIPT I PAID FOR IT! After they finally believed me and stopped making me out to seem crazy like i made up ever having this plan, they offered me a new plan with the same amount of channels and internet speed with no phone for the same price..... REALLY! Cause i told the representative before i signed my first contract anyways that that is all i needed, yet she said there was nothing like it.. but somehow these new reps say there is and i get it for the same price... It is designed with their bottom line in mind and not with the customer is mind. They run it the opposite of the way Murphy and Burke ran Cap Cities. Comcast is just plain awful. While their service does cost less than Verizon its terrible customer service and bad quality tv is abysmal. They lure you with a slightly lower fee than their competitor, Verizon, but then unless you pay to upgrade paying for a high quality cable box they'll give you one with purposely downgraded quality so that the picture quality is equivalent to watching any show on an early 90s tv even if you do actually own a good tv. An even worse experience that actually prompted me to write this review: I received a promo rate for a year of tv and internet service. Exactly the same day a year later I made sure to call up to cancel so I wouldnt be bumped up onto their higher rate plan. After a lengthy phone call to cancel the plan and then another followup online dialogue with their support person, I was reassured my monthly rate would go down to the internet only rate. Nope! I just checked my bank statement now and found out they charged me $20 MORE than my old plan rate- and for the downgraded service without TV! Now this means taking up more of my time to have to call Comcast back again and sort this out. read more

(There's too many listings for Comcast. So, I just picked this one since it was closer to my home.) Services from Comcast is umpredictable. Count yourself lucky if you can even get a hold of a live person. Otherwise, be prepared to be stuck with an automated system. And, if and when you get a live person, don't jump for joy yet. You're more likely to be told that you've reached the wrong dept. and need to call another number. This is when you let out a stream of all the cuss words that you know. When you need a tech guy to come out and check out your cable or internet, that's a whole other story. An appointment will be set up. However, that doesn't guarantee that the appointment will be kept. The thing that I HATE about Comcast coming out to check my cable is that they give you a half day (4 hour) time frame of when the tech guy might come. If and when the time frame has gone by, you just realize that the tech guy isn't coming at all. That's when you let out a stream of all the cuss words you know. So, my suggestion is that you bug Comcast like hell on the day of your appointment to make sure that they are indeed sending out a tech guy. So, why the 2 stars? Well, despite the unkept appointments, the tech guy really knows what he's doing and solved my internet problems. read more

The worst customer/service experience of my life! Hands down! There is a big glowing red line between customer service and customer neglect. Comcast knows how to cross that line. By God and all his angels, if I could give them no stars, I would do it. When my Tech never showed for an install, I called the service center - only to find out that the appointment was canceled - per MY request. (It obviously wasn't, but I played along). I received no phone call, no email, no verification of a date change, or in this case - a date drop. I insisted the Tech come out and do the job, as i did not cancel my appointment. I wonder, is that a red Flag. It should be, but we'll press on - see how it goes. He was late. (Red Flag #1). He didn't have the right equipment, (Red Flag #2) He asked to use MY computer instead of his own to do the install. he said "Well, the Internet will be on yours anyway, so its just better that way." (Red Flag #3) He installed the wrong box, and told ME that when he was done installing the wrong box, I could drive to the Shirlington Comcast Center and just ask the service rep, they would give me the HD DVR I asked for - I could plug it in at my appt, call Comcast and have it imaged, and wait for my "Real" Cable. (Red Flag #4) I asked where this magic Comcast center was in Shirlington, what the number was, etc. He didn't know, so he told me to "Google It". The number was for a Fax machine. (Red Flag #5) I asked him why I was doing HIS job. he was just a contractor, so, I guess, he didn't have to do it. Factor in the fact that he bastardized my name on my Comcast Email without even asking if I could create a user name. (Red Flag #6) The Shirlington wasn't there (at least, not anymore). I almost got into a car wreck, and the Comcast Tech could care less. Five minutes after he imaged the SD box in mt apartment, I was on the road to Shirlington, so why would he care? (Red Flag #7) The Customer Service center wived my Install fee, and credited my account 50 Dollars. They have been nice; but what good is "nice" when this is way I'm treated when the tech shows up? (Plus 1) They emailed me last night - told me that they canceled my follow up appointment for the free install of the HD DVR that I couldn't get from Comcast the first time. (Red Flag #8) This is where I lost it, for real. I did not, nor would I ever, cancel an appointment that I had to set up because they didn't do it right the first time. How This is where Comcast felt my wrath, if I had any to give. The call center, once again, helped me sort it out, for now. (Plus 2) Will the appointment hold, I doubt it. But I hope so. I'll just get on the list of foolish Customers whom have paid a premium for years ( in my case more than 17). Paying more than 160+ a month for basic Digital cable services and internet in the 3 rooms of our home in of itself is pretty crazy, given the few channels we really watch. The fact that I rarely have a tech come to our home ( I can say honestly maybe 5 to 7 times in 17 years?) One of my DVR's (Tivo's) Cable cards has basically not been working right for almost a month now. I have spent countless hours on hold, ran errands for comcast to pick up a new cable card (which in fact is not at all a new one) because the old one a Comcast tech installed back in 2010, Im told by Comcast is either stolen or a lost piece of equipment. Nice huh? And this guy was in my home. So my newest cable card still does not give me the basic channels I pay for and only partial digital channels I should be getting. My Tivo DVR's work fine, and am told this is a Comcast connection (which both Comcast and Tivo techs concur on this point) issue, which after several calls and online troubleshoots nothing has worked. I have set aside more than 9++ hours (4 broken appointments by Comcast, which I had to follow up on) on two separate days for a tech and on both occasions have been told after the fact that they can't make my appointment, even though there was a Comcast truck literally next to my house yesterday at the time of my first appointment, they could not walk next door to me? I know, I know,, the people next door are new customers,, they are priority,, I get it. Im just a loyal 17 year paying customer. So again today Im told my appointment time can't be made and have to yet again, make more personal (which is clearly of no value to Comcast ) time for them because they are on other calls that are cutting into my day off now even longer.. Yes, I wait on them yet again.-- 4:00 pm So now it's Saturday evening, it is almost 6 pm, they have now missed 2 rescheduled appointments with me today. I have basically written off another afternoon for them, and they have effectively missed a 3rd rescheduled by "Comcast",,appointment. I think Ive been pretty patient. 3 weeks is pretty patient yes?? I don't get the promised Broadband speeds at any consistency, and the Cable TV channel line up is basically a ton of what I rarely if ever watch (the channels I don't watch work great) Ive basically been putting up with this service to the tune of more than 1,920.00 a year for years, and I admit, that is my fault.. Just to have a service or utility loaded with restrictions!!! Can anyone think of any other service that you would buy annually for this much and use a tiny fraction of its so called offerings ? Oh yeah, keep in mind, you have to work for them, when you need them to fix their service. Be ready to give up a lot of your worthless time with your family or your job, or your projects. That's all ok right? Yes,, wake me up, Ive had enough. I blame myself for putting up with it. Whenever I need Comcast it seems its always an arduous Root Canal like process,, exactly like everyone else tells me. I can't recall ever an excellent customer service experience one time in my 17 year tenure. I know Im only possibly trading Coke for Pepsi and it's likely at some point to be equally as poor but just maybe cause Im possibly going to be new to them, Verizon might treat me better even if only for a little while? An incredibly dissapointed at minimum, Loyal Customer of 17 years. 5/3/14-Finally, at about 7:45pm, a Comcast Tech stopped by, there were 2 of them. They were very helpful, and respectful of the hour. They addressed the problem in roughly 45 of so minutes. Bottom line, they were a very positive experience. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. BEWARE when you move and cancel your service. They told me I'd be getting a final bill when I turned in the cable box, which is fine; I have no problem paying a company what I owe them. However, instead of sending me a final bill, they reported me straight to a collection agency over a 37 dollar outstanding balance. Mind you, they had in their possession (1) my phone number, (2) my new address, and (3) my email address. No contact from them whatsoever. I don't know why I'm surprised, this happened to my parents when they cancelled their service too, and they live in a different f**king state. Go to hell, Comcast Corporation, and take your overpriced, shitty service with you. I will never do business with this organization again, even if it means having no cable tv whatsoever. Hulu and the internet won't be what kills TV; horrible service providers will. On the other hand, I highly recommend FiOS. It's a little more expensive, but we have twice as many HD channels and have had ZERO DVR freezes, broken set-top boxes, or other issues. Highly worth paying the difference. read more

I wish there was an option to choose negative stars. They deserve it. I'm currently on the phone with a Comcast representative--actually, I'm on the phone with their elevator music--my phone says I've been on hold for 22 minutes and exactly 13 seconds. Calling Comcast is a bit like a part time job. I can't even count the number of times I've called them since I moved here in August. They screwed up the initial installation, installed all the wrong equipment, which they refused to get a technician to fix, so I ended up enlisting the help of my tech-savvy (thank GOD) boyfriend to finally make it work. Comcast billed me $636 extra in July, at my old address, and I have yet to receive a check. That's no small amount! All I ever hear from the representatives is "I'm so sorry." They refuse to fix every single problem I have with the service. This past Tuesday, I called and was told a technician would be coming out to fix my cable Wednesday. Today is Friday, and I am now being told that no one was ever dispatched to come to my apartment and that I must be a loony tune. What happened to their pitch about crediting the customer with $20 for every missed appointment? Oh yeah, they won't even admit I had an appointment in the first place. Xfinity's installer was scheduled for Monday. I waited at home all day and then received a phone call that they had been to the residence and no one was home. No one knocked or rang the doorbell. Seriously the worst internet company with the worst customer service. A complete disgrace. read more
