I was just about to cut the cord... you know what I am talking about! My rising cable costs and then adding injury to insult waking up recently to find one of my favorite shows now requiring a subscription. Whatttt??? That was all the incentive I needed to get in the car and drive to Folsom Xfinity. This was actually my second visit to the Folsom Xfinity store location. About two months ago the microphone on my remote stopped working. Talk about a shock to the system. Having to hit all those buttons to get to where I wanted to go was not cutting it. I absolutely dreaded having to go to see if I could EVEN get a replacement remote. The Xfinity Yelp reviews were not encouraging. However, there was one very recent five star review which gave me hope. Arrived early afternoon to one of the local strip malls where Xfinity is located. I must confess when I walked in I was taken aback how large the area was. High ceilings with great lighting, a modern seating layout, and a very clean spacious feel. I was impressed. Not what I expected at all. But even more impressive was the employee who immediately greets you and performs a sort of triage if you will, to ask what your reason for visiting is. Ok. Now I am really impressed. I handed him my remote with my explanation and he literally walked a few steps and picked up a spanking new remote from a bin and handed it to me. Nice packaging too. I was almost in shock... LOL! That was wayyy too easy. Fast forward to my new problem/complaint. Sure exchanging remotes is one thing. But reducing my Xfinity internet/cable bill and my favorite channel dilemma is a whole different enchilada:)! Well peeps... miracles in the cable nightmare scenarios do happen. The exact same employee was greeting incoming customers. And by the way, a huge shout out for him. Super professional and nice. Engages like he really wants to help you. Tall, a little older than the employees he hands you off to. This guy is fantastic and represents Xfinity well. Yes there was a short wait... maybe 15 minutes before I was called to a counter for my turn. However there were only about three people ahead of me . I don't know what the experience would be like if there were more people ahead of me. Needless to say, I left within 10 to 15 minutes with a greatly reduced monthly fee and my show back on my watch list. Mission accomplished! No pain at all. Thank you to the Xfinity powers that be for finally putting the customer first. Because that is exactly how it felt. This was a life changing event. Ok... maybe I am being a little dramatic... LOL! What customer wants to hear, " I have bad news for you" and "You should call customer service and see what kinds of deals they have". I was trying to return equipment that I had picked up a week ago for my 88 year old father. Picking up the equipment was no problem. Gave me everything without a question. Now that I am trying to return the old router and a piece we did not need, suddenly they need to verify this because I am not on the account. He explained what was happening to my phone and, because I am nearly computer illiterate, he took the time to help me and fix my issues. Also I was out in a very short amount of time. GUYS, There Is a reason xfinity/comcast is rated in the top 3 for worst customer service. If I could give a zero star I would. The manager of the Folsom store is awful. After 90 minutes he couldn't figure out why they've been charging me for 5 lines instead of 3 lines, so he suddenly decided there was "fraud" on my account by someone name "Francisco" and said "I can't help you anymore until it's resolved, which could be weeks." I had been patiently waiting and suddenly he was treating me like I wasn't even a customer! He gave me a number to call and ... turns out HE'S the fraud, because according to their fraud department they had no idea what he was talking about! After 3 more hours (I kid you not) with a (finally) very helpful phone agent I have finally resolved the issue. Unfortunately, I will be switching to T-Mobile regardless. This location completely botched my attempt to take advantage of a phone promotion. The staff clearly had no training on the current deals or how they actually work. Because of their mistakes and misinformation, I lost the promotion entirely and was left with a massive payoff balance from my previous carrier. When I asked them to make it right, the only response I got was a shrug, a "sorry," and "it is what it is." They refused to provide any compensation, credit, or even accurate information about the exact amount I needed to pay off my old phone at the time of trade-in. I ended up stuck with hundreds of dollars charged to my card that should never have happened. Extremely disappointing service. Subaya Hill is a rockstar. She was helpful, knowledgeable, and understanding of my previous frustrations with the store. I had gone to the store two previous times and walked out. The first was because the representative that helped me was rude, condescending and when asked what colors were available for the phone I was looking at, he responded, "I don't know"! That was the first time I walked out. Second was, after checking in I waited over 45 minutes. All I wanted was some questions answered about my bill. So I walked out. Today I was greeted with a smile from Subaya. She explained she was just about to go on lunch and offered me an appointment when she returned. Upon her return she helped me and gave me her cell phone number and email for any future issues I may have. Now this is excellent customer service. read more

This is NOT about the store, but their 800# Customer Service. An elder family member had their internet go out, able to determine by talking with them for over an hour, that she needed a new modem. Xfinity scheduled a technician for the following Sunday (8/31). However, as she only has their plan for TV & phone, this left her without any connection to the world until appointment. She decided to go to the Folsom store to pick up the modem herself. The store service was very prompt; went home and tried to connect modem herself. But even after connecting modem, it didn't work. Again on the phone for over an hour with technical support. They walked her thru each step to no avail. So, they seemed to understand her dire situation and said that they were scheduling an appt as we spoke. Appt. set for next day. THEY NEVER SHOWED. Upon calling customer service again, there was NO RECORD of an appt! This review is NOT about the store, it is about their customer service and the company in general. I HATE Comcast/Xfinity to the core of my being. Every experience requires an enormous amount of wasted time and never ends in a positive fashion. Pricing for services varies by the day, who you speak to, and has absolutely no correlation to any logical or reasonable business practice. The majority of my calls with customer service involve people reading from a scrip and have no clue what to do unless it is a part of the script. The delivery of their internet service is never what you pay for or what you are expecting, because they have language in their contracts that say "speeds up to". This is somewhat due to shared trunk lines, but I think its because they can get away with it. For example, I pay for 1 gig speed, but for two years and many, many speed tests by me and other IT professionals, the speed has never been over 450mbps, which is less than half the speed I pay for. Outages can be frequent and cannot be resolved by calling. They are the worst internet delivery service that has a monopoly in numerous areas, which means you have no other choice. read more

This place is a crap hole for being in a nice area like Folsom. I came in expecting some sort of customer service. There was not a single hi, we are currently seeing customers, we'll be with or shortly or any sort of acknowledgement. I was sitting there for about 10-15 minutes without anyone coming over to see if i needed anything. These workers were worst than state/dmv workers. No sense of urgency and no customer service. These workers should really all be let go and including management. The reviews for this particular store are all pretty consistent. I ended walking out. HORRIBLE Customer Service!!!!!!! Try to get a live agent to talk to! Forget about it. It's impossible. They refer you to an online or automatic (menu-driven) service that limits you to their pre-described categories that often have nothing to do with the problem you are trying to fix. None of the menu items allow you to ask for a live agent. EXAMPLES: 1. TV shows a pop-up menu indicated you need a software upgrade. None of the remote options allow you to proceed. You cannot find help for this in their support menu tree. 2. I got a call saying my 50% discount it ending soon. Not sure if this is from spam or a true Comcast call. You cannot find help for this in their support menu tree. 3. Want to change your service choices: No way to get and agent. Again, you have to go through their web page menus to make changes. GUILTY OF INCOMPETENCE! If you want the worst experience possible with Xfinity, go to this Folsom store and ask for STEPHEN BRUMFIELD. He said he's been on the job for about a year. He has experience working at Radio Shack (now that's impressive). But if you want to watch a "Retail Sales Executive" really screw up your account ... He's the guy! After 2-3 hours of him fumbling around, we finally got our Internet set up. We were also there to transfer two phone lines to Xfinity and upgrade with two new phones. Not only did BRUMFIELD screw it up, he prevented us from getting anything else accomplished on this visit. Unfortunately, we had to return for another 2-3 hours of torture with his "wingman" Malik DeJean (no relation to Cooper), who also failed miserably trying to set us up with two phone lines and two phone deals. Together, BRUMFIELD and DEJEAN cost us or lost us around $700 in promotion deals. DEJEAN only had around two months on the job and said he praised BRUMFIELD (his mentor) for all his help. Yipes! With that type of training ... there are sure to be "TWO" GUILTY OF INCOMPETENCE! Oh, by-the-way, we went on-line the following day and using Xfinity's on-line chat we were fortunate to get the help we needed from a young lady from Tampa, Florida who just happened to know what she was doing. In less than thirty minutes we had two phone lines and the purchase of two new phones - substantially discounted. Resolving problems in their office is problematic. Management and customer service is lacking. I however would like to give a shoutout to Ira Hair and Justin , whose wife just had a baby. Ira saved me from having a mental meltdown caused by having to wait at the back of the line after my scheduled appointment 15 minutes earlier which didn't resolve my problem. The problem was caused by their suspending my service due to a required update by Xfinity which I was suppose to perform. ( I am 81 with a condition and lack of technical capability). I would like to give a shout out to Subaya. I spent five days with AT&T who locked my 2 phones due to some security issue on their side. Instructions from AT&T on how to get rid of the locks was both confusing and frustrating. Subaya help me through, with patience, professionalism, and compassion. She has amazing technical skills and she's able to tell your how to improve yours. Long story short I left AT&T because they're disorganized and unwilling to help. Plus they are expensive. Warning to all considering this company! We retained their services as part of a package with home internet and unfortunately did not realize at the time that if your house has a hard wired alarm already installed they will not do anything to help or troubleshoot(other than remote- very basic questions asked) or repair it if there's an issue. They only want to put a band aid on and not even look into what is actually wrong. Do not engage this company's service for your home security. read more
