It's impossible to reach a customer representative. The system is designed to keep you in an eternal cycle of automated hell. If there is a dispute with a bill, then you're treated like a criminal and any hope of speaking to someone is lost. My elderly parents were scammed by someone posing as an xfinity representative and lost 250 dollars. For months they disputed the bill and xfinity didn't even move on the fraud claim. They cut all service, including land line. If my parents had an emergency, they would have had no way to dial for help. I have been with Xfinity home cable and internet since 2008. My monthly subscription costs took a huge hike in the midst of hardware upgrades and service issues. I went through 2 days of your automated no help system and all the required resets and system checks before I finally got to speak with a customer service representative. Unfortunately, there were some language barriers. I'm sure you recorded our conversation for accuracy so please check. I was very clear, "no changes to my plan, no phone upgrades, no new equipment, reimbursement for the old outdated equipment that the service technician took, and help me reduce my bill to fit my monthly budget." After much of my time on the phone, I thought we actually reached all goals and were close to the budget. I approved the dreaded 2 year contract based on the aforementioned terms. Well, to my surprise, mystery equipment has arrived, my channel subscription is a small fraction to what it used to be and my bill has increased beyond what it was the previous month. I cannot even bring myself to go through the hideous steps to try to talk to someone to get this corrected. Had an appt for 1-3 installation & was told they would call beforehand by 30min. They didnt. And they left. I called CS and they were able to get me a 3-5 appt instead. He arrives at 2:30 and calls me telling me he's there I tell him I am on the way but I was not expecting anyone this early. I get there and he proceeds to tell me he cannot drill the hole EVEN though I've got permission in writing. He left. I then spoke to manager ERIC who said that was awful and promised to have a tech come do it at 5 and to have it done and that he would reimburse my first month for all my trouble. Xfinity is garbage. Their website is terrible, customer service can't do anything for you. Cable was out for a week and got the runaround the entire time. Their technology is way behind other providers. Went to their local store and they greet you at the door with an iPad and take your name; however its not linked to anything, so the associates working there have to walk to the front door grab the iPad from the greeter and then call the next customers name...What a joke. Do not go with them...this is a bottom line corporation. I sold my home and moved to another location. I tried to transfer my service to a new the new home and Xfinity was not serviceable in that area, they went as far as putting a ticket in and sending a service guy out to see if they could service, no luck. 2 months after my move I received a bill for $60.00 for early termination of contract. The contract stated if you move, and they cannot service you still have to pay a early termination fee. This is unethical to put this clause in a contract when the company cannot even service the new location, if you can service the new location and they do not transfer I get it but when you tried your hardest for service ...not right. My bill was normally $44.99/ month so the cancellation was more than my monthly charge as well. This is corrupt corporation and they are only worried about the bottom $$, what they do to customers is unethical and a shame. I will not recomend Xfinity or anything comcast. I've been using them for years and they are incredibly unhelpful. I have been getting bills for a year for $10 a month wifi i NEVER received. I have called them from the day we never got it and decided to cancel it, to currently telling them I never got it and I was told that the now $250 would be removed and i wouldn't be continuously billed for it, they even have it on record we never got it and the first time i called about it. Customer service is a joke, they say they will send you to someone who can help but they just make you go around in a never endless circle telling them all the same issue until you are seething with anger. If I could give zero stars I would. I wish I had read yelp reviews before I signed up for service with them. I signed up for TV and internet service for Dec 3rd about 2 weeks in advance of that date. I never got a call or an account number. Nothing. So on Dec 5th I called and told customer service that I wanted internet service only. He said it would take 1-2 days for the modem to be shipped. I never got the modem. It went to a UPS pick up box behind a Seven Eleven. I only found this out after I called Xfinity a few days later. I got the modem and it didn't work. Technical support was unable to help. I took all the equipment and dumped it on a counter at XFinity store and walked out. Signed up with RCN Chicago and so far my experience has been awesome. Today I called Comcast as they had increased my rate by $60 for the same services. I couldn't believe I got a representative named Richie M in just a couple of minutes. I inquired about the new xFi service before discussing my billing issue and couldn't believe it when he sent me back to the IVR/queue. This means he essentially hung up on me! Comcast was already on the bottom of my list of companies to deal with and I ask their officers to call their own 1-800 line to see what their customers have to endure. Their IVR also doesn't let you speak with a representative and you go thru an endless cycle of button pushing or tell them you have new service to get thru. Internet service will slow or cut at random, they creep your monthly prices up (even under contract, and once you are a customer you no longer see the same deals new customers are offered. Honestly, I don't know why Comcast has corporate stores open across town?! They are definitely not there to help but to rip-off unsuspecting customers. I made a short trip to Mali West Africa from May 18th, 2021 to June 5th. I forgot to activate international roaming on my account. While in Mali, I called Xfinity Mobile to have it activated so I can surf the net. I was only able to use my phone from May 18th to May 26th because Xfinity Mobile canceled my number. I couldn't get a hold of them while overseas for an explanation. When I got back into the country, I called to find out why my service is not working and they told me that they canceled it because I incurred international roaming charges of approximately $10,000 within a period of 8 days. That is 4gb. And that the only way I could get my service back is if I paid off this ridiculous charge on my account. Mind you I only used WhatsApp and Instagram in those 8 days. Every call I made to their customer service, was ineffective. I went to this location in Orland Park, IL to get a break down of the crazy bill, and they also told me that there was nothing they could do to help me. My question is, why is this even legal? I have involved the media in this case so as to get to the bottom of it. I'm also ready to escalate this issue to a legal action if necessary, because this is unheard of. read more

After ordering XFINITY, The router and cable box was sent to the wrong address (strike 1). It took XFINITY 2 weeks to get me a new one sent to the correct address.... 2 WEEKS (strike 2). I pay extra for 1G internet, I have never seen anything close to 1G service. They came out twice, scratched their heads and left, no solution. signed up for all the movie channels, since they have taken away three of them, price stayed the same. They did replace one channel, kind of. They added a channel that's not really a channel just crappy on demand movies that show up on the channel guide to look like a channel. They also make it very diff to modify service, customer service is almost useless. Going to different ISP and streaming services. Never going back to xfinity. I needed to upgrade my TV package which also included an internet upgrade. I was told I should upgrade all of my equipment. I hate doing that because it's usually a pain to pair devices again. Well, the modem wasn't going to handle the speed so I swapped it out. The tech who helped me activate rushed me and I felt that I was holding him up. As a result I couldn't watch a number of shows because there was an out of wifi network error on the streaming app. I was on my home network. I called today and the tech was amazing, friendly, patient and fixed the issue in an instant. I'd would have liked to have the second tech first. They should get it right the first time. read more

Comcast/Xfinity is a crooked company. My first issue was when I tried to set up my internet service which should have been easy considering the person who I bought my house from had Xfinity as well. When I tried to hook up my Internet, they told me it was something wrong and they had to send out a technician and would charge $70. He stayed all of 10 mins inside and out. My second issue is when a salesperson called me and asked if I wanted to lower my bill, I asked what was the catch and she said nothing just a promotion we are offering. I saved 4 dollars for 4 months only for my bill to go up $15 in Jan. They added a TV service that I knew nothing of but when I find out that's what the salesperson did, the tv part doesn't even work. Now they are saying if I go back on my old plan, it'll be $70+ when I was only paying $43 in the beginning to go to $39 to $55. read more

I feel a need for an update, or "closure" as they say, as I just successfully terminated my service due to the fact that I am relocating out of Chicago. The good news, and I'm sure it has everything to do with the recent nightmare Comcast customer service recordings all over cyberspace, is that it took all of 5 minutes on the phone for a painless withdrawal. However, the bad news is when I told them I was moving to a place with Internet service in place, they actually ASKED FOR THE ADDRESS, to assure that I would be getting Comcast service. I thought that was pretty ballsy and even an invasion of privacy. But they accepted an "no." Lucky me! Overall, I had no big issues with the quality or speed of the service, other than a huge push back when I tried to remove the TV portion. That was not fun. But, truth is, they and AT&T are the only game in town. And with that centralization of power, they are not unlike the KGB of telecoms. I think they should change their name to "Commiecast." Yes, I am canceling cable, Comcast. Not because you suck (which you do), but because I don't watch TV and can put the money towards other things. I would appreciate if it didn't take an hour and a half on the phone with you before you actually let me cancel instead of trying to convince me to buy other packages. Though, to drop off equipment, I shouldn't have to waste an hour of my life in the stench and then be greeted by rude employees that look like they, and rightfully probably should, hate their life. Finally, get better hours. The vast majority of the employed world can't make it from 9 am to 5pm on a weekday, so Saturday from 9am to 1pm isn't going to cut it for all of us. Why am I a fan of Comcast when they just tried to screw me for $150? Because up until now I've never had the motivation to tell them to go blow. I ordered "wifi" and by "wifi" I mean, I said that word about five times in the course of the conversation. $100 and a an appointment set, the guy arrives, hooks up, splits and oh - look - no internet. Four days later, "it's a bad modem, we'll have to send someone else out"... three days later... the tech sets me up and after I ask how to set my wifi up, he says, "oh... you didn't order wifi. This is hard-wired internet". I'll spare you the conversation with the tech, who ended it by saying that if I could get a wireless router, I could hook it up myself. Comcast rep on the phone says they made no mistakes and to get WiFi, I need to call for another appointment and shell out $150 because "it's a totally different system and you can't do it yourself". I told her what I thought about that and we agreed to part ways. Turns out folks, I was able to make it happen all on my own with a little help from an Apple AirPort and a technical elf. Screw you Comcast. These four stars are for your ability to provide me with cable and internet, and your inability to be a smarter mouse about it. read more

I would not recommend Xifnity to anyone. There seems to be a huge disconnect between the technicians, Xfinity stores and customer service on the phone. Why isn't there consistency in what is offered by Xinfity? I shouldn't hear multiple things from each person who works for Xfinity. Switching to a new service should not be this difficult and I should not have to continuously call the company to get things resolved. I have spoken to Xinifity representatives more than I ever spoke to DirectTv in the 10 years that I had them. I'm not sure by now, how many days I have left to cancel, but I am seriously considering canceling my service. I decided to change my cable service from Direct TV to Xfinity because of all of the commercials saying that Xfinity offered better service for a better price and their good reputation. I expected much better service from a reputable company. However, that has not been the case I am extremely disappointed with the experience I am receiving from Xfinity.
