I have been with AT&T for over 40 years; with landlines, internet and wireless. Up until several months ago I had been receiving tolerable service. All of a sudden my internet and wireless greatly degraded so I am getting less the dial-up speed. I have had about 8 sevice technicians to my home but they are unable to restore my service to acceptable speed. I should be getting around 6Mbps but am getting less then 1 Mbps. I am paying about $113.00 dollars for wireless and about $60.00 for internet. I am now considering switching to Comcast!! Readers beware of AT&T read more

We are in woods of FL. No fiber just dsl line. Which is 5mbs. Horrible. We got air hub it gets up to 24mbs but fades badly during heavy traffic hours. Always 5-7pm. The phone to resolve service issues is a joke. The IT people have given limited choices to the AI agent and even people; thus making the experience unbearable. Internet Air service which sucked, returned equipment in November 2025, throughout following month of December received emails from AT&t that I need to return the equipment or I will be charged $200.00. I call them and they confirmed they did receive the equipment and said I would not receive anymore emails about needing to return the equipment. I still was getting the same emails and called back a 2nd time in which they again confirmed they have the returned equipment and I asked that they forward this info on to whatever dept that doesn't know the equipment was retuned and was told I wasn't billed in which I replied that doesn't mean I won't be billed tomorrow. Well here it is in January and I was billed $220.00 for the equipment. I call for the 3rd time and they check to confirm they received the equipment and respond to my queries that there is nothing they can do or no other phone number/dept that I can call and that it will need to go thru two billing cycles for it to clear up. What a fing poor crap system they have and that I'm lied to the first two times I call and the third time I called was I waste of time. Pure harassment is what this is. I hope it ends. Began internet service with this company and was guaranteed a set rate of $37 add on internet with autopay of bank account. When I received my first bill, I was charged almost double. I've called customer service several times, representatives have all provided different information. Endless transfers, dropped calls, poor automated system routes you to incorrect departments. Requested a supervisor, received a claim none were on duty and I would receive a callback. No calls received. This company has lost all credibility with their customers. Their systems are so convoluted that you can't even pay your bill without remembering multiple passcodes or execute basic services with an agent. It's been 100% inconvenience from the start and nothing advantageous for the customer. After multiple calls to AT&T here is my experience: LIE #1- I was told a year ago I have the highest internet speed. it was the slowest option they offer. LIE #2- I was sold the AllFi hub to get a faster speed waith assurance of an in-home tech to assist if needed. When I pleaded for help, they REFUSED. LIE #3- I was told there is a FREE 7-day triaI but the "order to cancel" Uverse was already in place after 5 days and could not be undone. LIE #4- I was told I would get a $35 credit. For the love of god, PLEASE don't use ATT. First of all, I have never in my life since the days of dial-up had such slow internet service. This isn't rural Nebraska. AT&T is doing business in Chicago--the third largest city in America--and here's the most recent speed test on good ol' AT&T's "fiber" network (see attached photo). 2.3 mbps???? My internet service in LA gets speeds of over 300 mbps. Here in Chicago, you could send mail through the USPS faster than this AT&T service moves. Furthermore, millions of people just got their social security numbers and other personal information stolen thanks to AT&T's flawed cyber security, and AT&T sent an insane letter entitled "Keeping your account secure," and ended it with "We are committed to keeping your account secure." Irony? A joke? They suggest logging in or calling to change your passcode, but their site has been down intermittently ("It's not your fault, it's ours" they say. YES, I KNOW!) and it's impossible to reach customer service (of course no phone number was provided in the letter--because they're so committed to customer service). Was finally able to log in and none of the accounts (wireless, home internet, etc...) are actually even associated with my log in, so i was back on the phone trying to reach customer service. I have a wireless act with ATT for 19yrs. I get a bill that 8/16-9/16 that should typically be $144 for 2 lines. I get a bill for $203. I cancelled service on 8/16. We have been loyal Business customers of AT&T over 3 decades. 2 years ago we contacted them to upgrade our Internet Services by adding Fiber Network therefore increasing our Speed on our POS terminals. Be careful...the reps on the phone will oversell you! We only needed WiFi Service and 2 telephone landlines. We were not seeing any increase in speed after the install. Each time a service rep came out to they added more unnecessary hardware. Each piece, adding more to our bill. Every time we called to correct the duplicate equipment, we were given a new account number, and our bill kept increasing more and more. When you call AT&T, you get transferred over to about three or four people who wind up transferring you back to some of the same people. None of them take care of your problem. They just try to sell you more hardware. We returned all the hardware and switched over to Verizon wireless. it was the best movie we ever made. Dealing with Verizon wireless is more personable. You only get transferred once when you call. The hardware and the equipment is much easier and understated. The 5G plan is awesome. We canceled all of our AT&T service: phone, lines, and Internet, and we are still getting billed as if we are using their services. Every time I tried to contact them I get this runaround. Ironically, AT&T is still billing us every day as if we still are using their service. The bill is totaling about $1500 a month. it's absolutely ridiculous and unfortunately no one you can talk to. I have been a loyal customer, made payments on time, never made any fuss, troubleshoot by myself for years. One time, this one time I asked actual help as I no longer can troubleshoot or run speed test, (turns out the receiver just stopped working permanently. So basically it died.) I asked them for help as we still work at home and wifi is crucial. And they just dont wanna deal with you. Walked out twice and I finally got in touch with thick accented agent, henry, he was so rude. Long story short... I scheduled a tech visit from AT&T to deal with an ongoing internet issue. Appointment was at 2pm, however at 12:30 two gentlemen rang my doorbell. Wifey and my 22 year old son were home. They let the Gentlemen in where they both IMMEDIATELY proceeded to pretended that they were both part of tech. But in fact, all they were there to do was to promote updraded products and attempt through deceitful and misleading practices persuade wifey to switch from our current mobile provider to AT&T. Wifey called me at work and after waddling through thier fake tech B.S it became necessary that I ask both gentlemen to get the h3ll out of my house! The REAL tech showed up at 2pm like he was supposed to. Did the work and things are so far all good. Currently, I've talked to several individuals about the so called AT&T Home Customer Care and each conversation is a similar variation of my very own experience! I have problem with my bill every time I upgrade my phone. Recently I have plan 6 line. I want to change my number from Seattle number to Los Angeles area code. I just upgraded my phone to 16 pro max and got promotion 0.99 for iPad. I was interested so I upgraded. Then 2 months later I changed my number. The bad staff canceled my payment plan and charged me hold price for phone and iPad too my bills 2385. I called the line and fought with the inexperienced staff until I waited on the line for 4 hours. I took screenshot of the wait time and posted everything on Facebook and reviewed everywhere. I called every week and the staff promised to fix it and contact me. But no one contacted me. I called for 2 months and decided to cancel everything. They did not listen to my excuses or answer any questions about why I canceled. I want to write this review as a warning to everyone not to use this network. If you use it, do not use the promotion that the staff offered. I curse this network company to be great. They made a mistake and did not fix it. And make us feel stressed every time we call. To start, I have only been with AT&T for 2 months and I am already looking to go somewhere else. We were told they were going to pay off our phones from Verizon for switching and how they do that is, we mail our phones in, and they send visa gift cards for each phone and we take those cards to Verizon and pay the phones on. I spoke with 3 different people that explained to upload my last bill from Verizon that shows all 3 phones and what is owed on each of them so we get the correct pay off amount.. Well the time comes and I only get one visa card in the mail. I called the reward center and they informed me I was supposed to upload the receipt in 3 times(one for each line) in order to have all 3 phones paid off. So with all 3 people I talked to in the beginning, mind you each of them looked at my account and said "yeah we see you uploaded the receipt correctly" not a single one informed me that I needed to upload that receipt 3 different times to have all phones paid off.. Well now I am passed the 60 day cut off and they have my old phones we turned in... AND they told us we have to pay the remainder of our phones off with Verizon which is $900!! Not a single person is helpful, horrible customer service, I barely get service at the grocery store, I would NEVER recommend AT&T to anyone!! read more

I had At&T in my prior house and it was good. When I got married we briefly had Comcast at a rental apartment and there were constant outages. I swore no more Comcast. However, in our current house, we started with AT&T's old school internet for many years and upgraded to fiber a few years ago. In the last 12 months we've had a technician out more than 20 times. At this point, I'm scheduling them every other week. It went out last night (Monday), I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday (soonest they could come). I also finally scheduled an appointment for Comcast to come on Friday. Never say never. I'm hoping it's better than At&t in our area. It's consistent for our tenant. Doesn't A T and T have a more efficient outage reporting system when telephone or internet service is interrupted in an area? My neighborhood was hit by severe storms this week. As a result, my phone service was temporarily down. I tried to report this to an agent. I was told that technicians would be on site the next day and I was expected to be home between 9 or 10 am and 6 p.m. Seriously? You'll make me stay home for ice or disruption on the outside lines? And charge me on top of that? There should be an easy, uncomplicated way to report weather related difficulties online if your phone is down. I would not recommend upgrading to AT&T fiber. The internet gets great speeds (~ 400 mbps on my 500 plan)... when it works- which is rarely. Most times the speed is under 10 mbps. Also, when they installed the fiber line to my house about 5 months ago, they ran a cable through my back yard, which was supposed to be buried a few days after installation. Five months later and it's still laying in the grass. Both young children and grandparents alike have tripped over it. Multiple calls and hours of time wasted talking to AT&T overseas customer service has yielded zero results. read more

I have the biggest problem with @att right now. My internet was working perfectly fine at 10am and have not had a problem ever until today. I noticed a red light on the alarm indicator on the ONT box so I decided to call @ATT to inquire about it. They actually sent someone out to my house within an hour to fix the very minor problem. That person's name is Kelvin. Fast forward 5 hours, my internet is completely down. The house tech(Kelvin) who was sent destroyed my internet connection. Don't ask how, it's boggling my mind as I write this since it was working before he arrived. And not only did he break my internet, he abandoned the job. Over 70 million people got hacked with ATT accounts and they asked everyone to change their passcodes. They also were going to provide customers with one-year free credit monitoring, but I tried over and over again on finding how to do that with no help at all. I logged into att.com/account safety and that's it said there was to change my passcode and it said ATT is offering one year fraud alerts from nationwide credit bureaus but still there is no way on how to do that. I called ATT and as usual the person from another country knew nothing about what I was talking about. The only thing we are going to do is cancel everything we have with ATT. read more

My experience with AT&T Fiber Internet. You should note the promo they offer of a $150 rewards card. You're going to earn it. Just the time you waste IF they can get it installed and working. Kind of like getting a new car but it does not hold gas. In my case, they could not get it to work in two days and never told me why. Just stopped communicating, and disappeared into the clouds. So, to recap how this went down from 3/14/2024 to 3/15/2024. Tech came to install the internet at 2:30 PM he came in and reviewed my network. I run two routers with WiFi off both. One for the downstairs area and another Mesh network upstairs with three hubs so I can get the coverage I want. Basically, all he had to do was run the new line and switch out the Modem. Rename the network and everything would have just been switched over. It was raining, not hard, but it was so it took him the full two hours. He spent the most time troubleshooting that there was no service. He checked some other connections at the box, and they were not getting service either. He told me he would have to escalate the issue and it was getting close to 5 PM and he doubted if anybody would fix it tonight. So, on the 14th I wasted 3 hours of my time. The next morning my camera alarm went off telling me I had people on my driveway. I got up and it was an AT&T truck, so I figured he was working on the problem. I opened the door and looked at him so he would know I was home. He spent about two hours out the going up and down the poll and working on the line to the house. He was talking on the phone a bunch and when he left, he was talking to someone. He never knocked on my door to check anything inside. This all ended at like 10 AM. I waited until 12 PM on the 15th and no one had called, and no other service tech showed up. I then called and texted AT&T telling them this was a no-go. Please pick up your equipment that I will leave on the side porch. They have the information in a text, and they said they recorded the call, I made it clear that this was taking way too long how could I trust that it would work? IF once they got it working and if there was a problem is this the service example I should expect. I made it clear that I was not their employee and that if one of their employees left something at an open uncompleted job, they needed to retrieve it. If I left my tools at a job want to bet my boss wanted me to get it or pay for it. Again, I'm not their employee and at this point, I'm out another 4 hours of my time. So, to recap I'm out 7 hours of my time and they want me to take more time to get them their equipment back. Something is wrong with this picture they threatened me on the phone and in an email that they would charge me for the equipment that did not work. I'm thinking of sending them a bill for my time and a drop-off charge. I'm sure they'll just laugh at that, so I'll only be able to turn it over to the BBB and start posting my experience on Yelp and any other site. AT&T cannot be trusted. I cancelled my wireless with them two years ago. I just noticed that they have been charging me $28.02 every month, even though I cancelled. Also - I dropped their internet because they lied to me about that service, too. They told me I could switch from Comcast to them just by using a disc. Of course that wasn't true after I dropped Comcast. A technician had to come out - necessitating spending a day at home waiting. Make sure - if you cancel them - that they do not continue charging you - which seems to be the way they operate. I will certainly never use them for anything. read more

AT&T fiber installed new service but couldn't get a signal. Tech said he was calling in a lineman. Lineman came, internet fired up. All good? NOPE. Turns out, every port on the AT&T box is assigned to a house. My port is faulty. What SHOULD have happened was the tech saying "Sorry, there's a bad port. The whole thing has to be checked, it could take weeks to repair". I would have kept my previous ISP until it was resolved and still switched. Instead, THIS is what happened. Lineman sees that my port is bad. He sees that EVERY port is taken. He UNPLUGS an existing customer (screw them right? At&t already has that customers money), plugs me in and says "Close the ticket, I'm done!" So yeah... the other customer calls tech support, gets told (hilariously) to power cycle their modem 50 times before sending a tech. That tech sends a lineman. That lineman swaps us back to our assigned ports and my internet dies. My old ISP was canceled. My wife and I work from home, running multiple internet dependent businesses. We have an immuno-compromised family member and we can't risk going to an outside location to work. Our kids can't do their homework. Our Christmas based business sales are TANKING. I spend my birthday on the phone with At&t, and was disconnect 5 times. Their cell phone apps are broken, worthless, unintuitive and provide bad/false/misleading info and half the links are pointing to the wrong pages. Their hardware is substandard at best, their firmware is a joke, and their customer service is politely useless. I've lost THOUSANDS of dollars, lost customers, and recieved poor reviews (before this, nothing but 5 star reviews on my business). I asked for compensation and was told, in so many words "piss off". If I could give negative stars I would in a heartbeat. This joke of an organization has locked me out of my email account multiple times and I have called over and over again to get it recovered. I am patient for the most part and let it blow over in the past. This time, however, they told me that they were unable to recover my account after they took it upon themselves to change my password without notification. Their best suggestion was for me to create a new email account as if the information in my old email was not important. I called to setup a cancellation date for a few weeks later, which was a rigmarole itself. I got passed to 4 different people, in 3 different departments. I guess they really don't want you to cancel with them. I was finally able to set up the cancellation date then suddenly a day later my internet doesn't work. So I call back and they tell me there is an equipment issue at my building and they can come out and fix it, at my expense. What the what?!?! Yeah, that's just a crazy coincidence right? According to them, it wasn't any of their equipment so it had to be my building, which would require a tech to come out at my expense, even just to test it. So it could very well end up being a problem they can't solve, that I would still pay for. Further, the earliest appointment I could get wouldn't be for weeks. But I would be gone by then, so why bother? Ok fine. I guess I'll just go without. So then I try to get a credit for the days I won't have service, up to the cancellation date. LOL. Good luck. They tell me that they can't determine what the credit is at this time and to call back later. I called back a couple of days later and am given an credit amount. So I wait for final bill, to finish off the service and surprise surprise, there isn't any credit. Further, they did not prorate the final bill, so they charged me for a week or so after the cancellation. After a few phone calls and few more people, I am finally told they will email me an adjusted bill, prorated for the cancelation date, with the credit, and that's all I'll owe. They did prorate it, but they didn't give me the credit. This time I try to chat with them about the credit I am supposed to receive. I literally chat with 5 different people, none of whom seem to know anything about a credit. So I gave up; which I am sure is what they wanted me to do. AT&T is just shady.
