This is the worst service I've ever had. My WiFi went down about 5 days ago and I've called in 2 times and they have told me to do the same thing over and over again which is just unplugging the WiFi router waiting 30-60 seconds and plugging it back in. I have talked to over 5 different people at xfinity and their partner comcast to try to get this problem resolve. They have done about nothing to try to help with the problem. They honestly have to hire some of the most brain dead people ever in costumer service. I have no idea what's going on as this problem is not my field. Somehow my TV is working and only about 2 of the 7 devices that I have in my home get WiFi. I don't even know how this happens. When I brought this up to them the man that I was on the phone with for over 30 minutes now he said that he had no clue how that could happen. He told me that he would go ask someone in that field of work. I have no idea how they hired that man to costumer service and he doesn't even know what is could even be the problem. He could have been new but even if he was there should have been someone there with him to talk him threw what to do. Once he went to go find someone else I was left on hold for about 30 minute. So I was left there with the value of my time sitting there on hold. Could have spent the nice summer day with everything working fine and with my family but no the man has no idea what he's doing. But once he got back on the phone he didn't even find someone. So he just told me to unplug the router again and plug it back in. Once for about the 5th time I stated that it didn't work. So he said that he will be right back to check with mangment. I was left there again for another 20 minutes. He came back saying that there was an outage in my area and everything should be up and running at about 8pm. Its is currently 10:02pm as I'm writing this review and nothing has changed my WiFi is still down and nothing in my house works. TERRIBLE! I had them for 5 weeks. 10 calls to customer service and $250 accidental charges to my bank. I moved into my new Chicago apartment 7/1 and chose Xfinity for my internet. I placed an order for a router to be delivered in 1-2 business days. it never arrived, I called and they apologized and shipped a new one. That one never arrived. I called again and they said they could send a technician to deliver it. I only agreed on the condition I would not be charged the $100 service fee. They assured me I would not. My first bill arrives 8/1 and I am charged nearly $250 for two 1-2 day router shipments and the $100 technician fee. I call for the third time and they agree to wave the added fees as they expressly told me I would not receive them. The new bill still showed fees for 1-2 day shipping costs. I call again and tell them my bill is still not correct and I won't be paying anything to them until I am sent a corrected invoice. Time passes, no updated bill, service disconnected and I'm told it will be a fee to re-activate it. SAVE YOURSELF AND CHOOSE ANY OTHER COMPANY FOR INTERNET. read more

Internet service is good, but the customer service is HORRIBLE. I just got off the phone with a rep trying to cancel my service because I'm moving out of state and will no longer need Xfinity. The customer service rep made the call SO difficult to do that. They ask you all these questions about why you want to cancel, where you're moving, and try to convince you that you can take your service with you......OBVIOUSLY, but the whole point of the call is to cancel my service. And of course there is no button you can click on their website to "stop service" like other utility services, so they make you speak to someone. They try their best to keep you as a customer and make you go in circles before actually putting the cancellation through. They asked for the new address of the place I was moving to multiple times after I told them I did NOT want the service anymore and please cancel. I understand they read off of a script and are trained to do their best to keep you, but all that does is piss off the customer even more. This company is absolutely awful. Their service is the worst thing in the world and only until you complain will they fix things years later. Their customer service is just a goose chase. They will have you will sit around all day just to find that they don't have any answers. They have options where they will text you updates however, you will never receive those updates it is just a lie, which is unbelievable for a company of such scale. The only reason I have to use them is because they are the only provider for my location. If you ever try to inquire about issues, they will give you a sales pitch to try to sell you something else which makes no sense when what I already bought doesn't work. Whelp, shockingly, they did not cancel my service, despite multiple verbal confirmations it was cancelled, and the email specifying the date. So I made the 6th attempt to contact them and finally they are cancelling it... but are they? Will I ever actually know? They claim it'll be up to 48 hours to actually disconnect. What?!?! Honestly it started off great but there service has gotten worse. I spent about a year trying to get my cameras fix and they said no because of Covid-19 which we completely understand because it was in early March 2020. we asked if they can stop charging us in the meanwhile they told me we would get a refund as soon as they repair it for the months that it wasn't working which we never got. Well I have been a customer for over 20+ years and all I can say is their automated system is horrible, the agents try and help but when thy cannot assist anymore they say they are transferring you to a manager, which is a lie cause even after waiting on hold or over an hour no one answered multiple times. I tried over and over I was in tears because I was so frustrated. They had my number but didn't care I was forced to call for days and still no resolution! Worst customer service.... Was told I needed to update my modem and return my old equipment, did that only to be charged for unreturned equipment, call customer service provide all the info on the return receipt, they state they will credit my account, two weeks later, during a tornado, they shut my service off completely! I've fully paid over 300.00... call again, on the phone for 2 hours, they don't know why it was shut off, they will credit my account, they can't fix it, they need to send a tech.... They will credit me 132.00... tech comes out replaces the box... next bill they only take off the 32.00, charge me 100 for a tech service call when they were the ones to shut off the service accidentally...., call again, they will credit me 100.00... bill comes, no credit...call again 7 days after I'm supposed to receive 100 and CS asks me if I'll accept a 50 dollar credit..... she's only authorized to give 50....no, well she needs to work with a manager to get me another $50 credit. The other 50 credit never comes thru... So historically, they shut off my cable accidentally, they shut off my phone for two months and forgot to reassign my phone number back to me, I have to call almost every two weeks because there's some sort of a problem. Been a customer for over 30 years ....worst customer service ever when you're paying over $300 a month! I been using xfinity for years, last year I got 29.99 a month for 12 months, been busy with life I forgot to cancel after the 12 months, well my bill when from 29.99 a month to $155.00 a month for same service even with me buying a router so I don't have to pay router rent I should only be $55 regular price after 12 month end, they charged me for the last 6 months $155 I called few times but the guys on the other line on the phone they have accent and it's hard to understand what they are saying, they couldn't do nothing on refunding my money, one of them actually try to get me a deal with at&t witch I thought was funny, so I cancel my xfinity service and I called AT&T directly and in 2 days I have they're service for $55 a month no 12 month agreement and no rent on equipment AT&T provided everything I need to use they service at no extra cost or monthly rent I have to say my tv run better now read more

*PLEASE READ* This service is trash. Even worse is the customer service. February 2020 I made arrangements to move out of state. 1st week of March I called in to disconnect my service and turn in my internet box and make final payment. Done right? Not even close. Fast forward 1 year... March 2021 I get an email notifying me that my service is being disconnected due to past due payment. I call in to find out what is going on and I am literally on the phone for hours! I was transferred back and forth between 6 different customer service" reps... no communication from one to the other so each time I had to explain the situation and each time they placed me on hold to "investigate" notes on the account. Notes that said exactly what I explained everytime. They would each get to a point in their "investigation" where their ability to help was outside the duties of their department or not within their job capabilities or not able to credit the account because the balance was too high... (the balance of was unbelievable because over the past year they continued applying charges to the account even though i called in to cancel service and returned all the equipment!) By the time it was "resolved" I had been on the phone for over 3 hours, passed over by 6 customer service reps. Finally the account is closed and at a zero balance but NO ONE could explain to me why they continued to charge me for internet services at a location I no longer resided in with no active devices. I haven't been a customer with Xfinity for a YEAR!!! And they still managed waste my time with their horrible customer service. I would give 0 stars but yelp won't let me. read more

The 1 terabytes of data that they allow you on a "unlimited" plan I signed up for is completely a scam! Their sales pitch is less than 1% of their customers go over the 1 terabyte data a month. I was gone 25 days one month and 540 gigs had been used! How can I use that much data in 5 days even if I streamed continually?? I don't know they won't show me the breakdown...i and everyone else on a "unlimited plan" is really on a unlimited amount of $10 50gb data charges if your over the 1 terabyte! Wow how wonderfully kind of them! Nice false marketing! We are supposed to just trust there data meters without the proof of where and how the data was used? ...2 months in a row I went over 500 gb... I am so very tired of having the account having to reset every every single day. Some days it resets within 10-15 minutes. Today it has been over 1 hour, and probably by the time I have signed onto Yelp and wrote this, it will be an hour and a half. With such a large company such as this, you would think they would come up with a better way to "upgrade" every day. After seventeen years with Comcast/Xfinity, I could not believe that why could get much worse. I called a couple months back to find out when my current promotion was ending, and was told that on January 28th my promotion was up and that I would be paying $40 more per month after. I scheduled the end of my service to happen on the 28th, and set up service with another company. January 30th rolled around and I was still able to access my Xfinity WiFi, so I called up customer service and asked why my account was still active. The told me that my service was scheduled to get cut off on February 28th, to which I corrected, and the agent stopped service. He then asked how I would like to settle up the charges for the past few days, and I told him that I shouldn't have to pay because I had already scheduled the cut-off date and it was the companies fault for not adhering to my request. He agreed and we hung up. A week later I received a bill for $33 for the prorated service, which was half of my bill! Upon further inspection of the letter, I noticed that our service was also upgraded for the last month (something that I did not request), and that my total bill before discounts was $100! I called and the service agent was able to remove the amount and close my account...again...but I should not have to take time out of my day to sit on hold in order to clear up their mistakes! If you have the ability to go with another service, DO IT!!! A company that not only does not respect you as a customer, but will also add fraudulent charges to your last bill so they can squeeze you for that extra few dollars is not an establishment you should deal with. But the people that work for here, the dispatchers, The people that come install the internet are all unprofessional. They gave me 2 blocks of time to come and install it and didn't come. Just horrible in my area (zip code 60707). Watching the NBA finals last month and the signal continually skipped. I honestly don't even watch that much tv, but when I do, it's usually basketball and the one thing I wanted to watch was skipping every 5-10 seconds (makes it almost unbearable to watch) and wasn't HD quality. Was promised last month after the escalation up to a manager that I'd get credit on my account for the 11 days of service that wasn't quality, nothing. The next 2 billing cycles don't show any such credit. Over promise and under deliver This month, they decided to do a maintenance outage from 10 am - 2 pm in our area. Being that I work from home, huge issue. There was no communication and no forewarning. Internet just went blank. This is my first time having Comcast. In my previous neighborhood in Bronzeville I had RCN which I honestly couldn't say better things about. A bit expensive but truly incredible service and customer service. Our business moved into a major Mall in Schaumburg IL. Since early October 2021 - we have ordered internet service and after over 5 months of excuses we still do not have service. We have called over 50 times with promises of this is being "escalated". Our salesman Julio rarely returns our calls or have helped resolve this. Initial service at retail store started out good and I chose bundled package to get discounted mobile rate with cable and internet. Regretfully, when the technician showed up to the house two of my TV's were older than 2018 and the newest was Sony. I described my flat screen screens to the retail store representative at the time. Now I find out from the technician that Sony TV are incompatible with streaming unless I want to rent a cable box for each TV as with a TV older than 2018. Why was I not told this in the store? Dropping the cable would change my bundle rate. I spent three days attempting to sort out the mess. Customer service was horrific with one call lasting over 2 hours and bounced between 7 different reps. I went back to retail store for assistance and was told they did not handle any of these issues at retail store and that I had to call customer service and go through them. I canceled everything and went with ATT in less than two weeks. Now I am getting a notice from collection agency for outstanding mobile charges even though I canceled service and was told at the time if I was dissatisfied and canceled within 30 days there would be no charge. This was told to me by rep at retail store. Now I am in a continuous loop. Xfinity state they have no record of billing for my mobile or can assist. The collection agency CCS state I need to rectify with Xfinity to stop collection.
