Worthless. They claimed to have my part so I drove 30 minutes out there waited for an hour to return and have them tell me they had the wrong part. Then I ordered it from them again and they gave my part to someone else. I ordered it a third time and never heard back. Took my phone to Beyond Electronics at White Marsh today and they fixed it for less and in 15 minutes..with the part in stock.The Hook Up also has a sign on the counter asking customers to give 5 star reviews for $5 off. Sham. As an update: I have been contacted by the owner trying to give me gift cards and other things to make up for my experience if I promise to remove my review. My phone was fixed by another reputable company and I do not want anything from your store. Moreover, this is a review site where we write honest reviews of what happened in our business interactions. I trust and use Yelp myself for many different things and would hope I'm receiving honest reviews which is exactly what mine is. I am not going to get paid off by a business owner. this is the worst place ever! I should have guessed by the name of course. So I went there to get my cracked ipod touch fixed. It still played music, I just wanted to fixed the screen. they charm you into signing the contract without reading it by making conversation while you are going over it. thennnn when I came back to pick up my Ipod, the manager brings it out to me and says okay well we were able to fix the screen but something went wrong with the mother board. I try to charge it and got nothing. I come back and tell him I was not pleased and he says "we let you keep the screen!" are you kidding me? So he gives me about $30 out of the $80 I paid them to basically break my iPod. do me a favor and just skip this place and go somewhere more legit. thanks read more

My 5S LCD and screen finally broke after numerous falls. Called them and they said they could be at my work at 10am the next day. Agent arrived promptly and worked on the phone immediately. Took about 30 mins or so and cost $80. Not bad. Only con, did not have a card reader so he tried to send a Paypal request which my Paypal account must have blocked. Had to go to the ATM next door and pay about a $5 service fee. Oh well. Definitely recommended and highly convenient read more

Amazing!!! The service and professionalism was amazing! Danny came out to my business to fix my daughters iPhone screen on time and ready to work. Unfortunately, my daughters phone battery was low and took some time to charge, but he was extremely passionate and didn't mind waiting to make sure all functions were working. Danny was incredibly accommodating and I can't speak more hihgly of the customer service he provided. I'm embarassed to say that my phone screen wasn't even cracked, it was the glass screen protector that was cracked. Danny came to my home for the repair and didn't even charge me when he discovered it was the phoone screen that was cracked and not the actual screen. We was friendly and instead of acting like I had wasted his time, we laughed at the situation and he even made sure there were no actual screen cracks. It doesn't get much better than that. Okay, so I will NEVER go through another repair tech ever again. I had my screen replaced 2 weeks ago at different shop and the touch screen suddenly became unresponsive. No cracks, water damage, or anything. It worked at 3:30 in the morning and when I woke up at 6, it didn't. I could not figure out why. I reached out to Danny and he came to my job within the first hour of speaking with him. He was kind, courteous, and professional. He took the time to show me exactly what went wrong with my last screen replacement and walked me through the process of installing a new one. Extremely poor service from start to finish! Here is my story: I called this store around mid-April 2015 to get the broken screen on my Droid Mini replaced. They said over the phone that they have the replacement screen, so I drove for 30min to get over there. Once I was there, they said they needed to order the screen, and that the screen would arrive in 5-7 business days. While I was a bit taken aback, I thought this was just an aberration, paid the 50% advance, and left the store. A week later, and still there was no news from the store. I called them, and the lady over phone said that she does not know if the screen had arrived, and that the manager would call me back. A day passed, and no call from the manager or anyone in the store. I called again, and was told that their shipping system was all screwed up, and that someone would give me a call. Again, 2 days pass, and no call from anyone in the store. At this point, I told them that I would cancel my payment if my phone is not repaired by the beginning of May. Then, all of a sudden, I get a call from the store saying that my part had arrived! So I go to the store. Once I got there, they began saying that their repair schedule is backed up, and it would take several hours before they could get my phone repaired. I had to consent to this, since my wife and I were moving out of state a few days later. After they replaced the screen, I tested it and realized that one of the buttons on the screen was not working. I gave the phone back, and they said they would see what's wrong. An hour later, they come back to me saying that the part of faulty, and they would need to order a new one or give me $25 discount. I examined the phone again to see if any other functionalities were missing, and found dents and scratches on the side of the phone, apparently because some kid in their shop used the wrong tools to open my phone up! I pointed this out to the manager, and she had no answer to it! I had to take the phone back home as is (after paying them), since I didn't want them working on my phone any more. A few days later after I reached home, I also found out that the head phone jack had stopped working! The people in this store are highly unprofessional, incompetent, and unfriendly. Stay away from them. I bet most of the reviews they have online are fake. read more

I HAVE TO GIVE 1 STAR?!?! Terrible customer service. 3 of us hovering and no one offered to help, you have to interrupt them. I got my screen "repaired". There was light visible between the screen and the frame. They got rude with me and after going around in circles for 15 minutes they would only tell me my frame was bent. But I had another repair shop have this same issue 6 months prior and they were able to fix it so to me, it was lazy, sloppy work. When I got home, my screw was missing from the bottom. I called in to let them know I couldn't make it back til tomorrow and the guy working there asked "If I was the girl from earlier?" and then accused me of lying about the screw. You know, Glutton for punishment, I love driving 30 minutes to have to deal with rude people who accuse me of lying. FAVORITE ACTIVITY! Anyway, they were rude on the return to all the people around me. The guy I spoke to on the phone wouldn't even address me. And since the repair, my phone battery dies within 4 hours, on low power mode with wifi. I used to be able to go all day without charging my phone. Thanks a lot Hook Up, you made it worse. Then another person reached out and addressed themselves as a 'concerned citizen', called me racist, and was forceful in trying to make me take down the review. I'm speechless. I had never heard of this store before, but I had a huge crack across my entire phone screen that I needed to get fixed. I found this place online, and they quoted me $99.99 and about 1 hour for a screen fix for the Samsung Galaxy S5. They took my phone and I shopped the mall. When I came back around an hour later, they told me that I had to pick a different color screen because they were out of black. I chose a color and waited another 20 minutes, but my phone looked as it if had a permanent smudge across most of the screen. They took it back, and about 30 minutes later I received my phone, looking brand new. Despite the small trouble, the employees were very friendly and I'm a happy customer. read more

So typically, I don't Yelp at all. I made an account to write this review, which tells you something. My phone screen broke and I was in need of a new screen asap. Fixt which I've used in the past, recommend this company. The price was fine considering they came to my job the same day, but my phone wasn't fixed. I quickly learned after my phone was supposed to be "repaired" that my screen was still very unresponsive and I wasn't able to delete applications, it would force me to do 3D touch on the iPhone. I called one of the techs and he was very friendly and came back out the next day, same fellow who repaired it the first time. When I was returned my phone for the second time, I was assured that everything was fine now and if I ran into any issues give them a call back. My phone screen is still highly unresponsive, the proximity sensor doesn't work correctly, and now I can delete applications but cant use the 3D touch feature AT ALL. Even though I'm sure they will offer to take another look at it free of charge, I don't want this company touching my phone. Now I have to pay more to get my phone fixed correctly. Even if you are in a jam and need your phone fixed quickly, this is not the company I would recommend. Customer service was fine, end product was horrible. read more

It's not a business I would patron again. I was once a loyal customer, but after spending time there more recently, I came in with one problem and left with another. They have a 30 day pick up policy but held on to my item for 8 months and still never repaired it. The business is being poorly managed and you never see the same employees. They once had a strong team, and only one of the owners is there, and is hard to reach when an issue occurs. I've learned to take my business elsewhere. They no longer deserve it. read more

Terrible! This place absolutely horrible. I went to get my screen fixed on my iPhone 5s. Nothing was wrong with it prior. They did all these checks and made you sign a contract. I was told the repair would take 15 mins and it took over an hour. On top of that, the check in person was extremely rude and short, but i needed my phone so I dealt with it. Everything about the store told me to leave but I didn't have time to go elsewhere. When i got my phone back the screen was fixed but the fingerprint scanner and vibration no longer worked. I took it back and they were able to fix the vibration but not the scanner. It was a so called "software issue" that I had to take to apple. I went to apple and they said it was a issue that the store caused and the store should be able to fix. Apple couldn't help after someone outside of them touches the phone.... go figure... went back to the store again. They change employees just as much as they change their underwear. There is never the same people working there. I spoke to the manager and she basically told me it wasn't their fault and was my problem. I was completely done with this store until my camera shortly stopped working after wards. I took it back to yet another new manger (who also no longer works there) and he was so friendly and helpful. He was able to fix my camera with no issues. He even tried to fix my scanner but was unsuccessful. The first person messed up the wire that was connected to the motherboard and my scanner will never work again. Bottom line, i would not recommend them to anyone. I had multiple bad experiences with them about the same problem and the majority of the people are not helpful or friendly.
