Can honestly say that Wrench Werks is one of the top places I've been to for automotive/mechanical purposes. Worked with Tanya through the process and she's been very communicative and patient. Being a bearer of bad news isn't the easiest job to do, along with handling any emotions a customer may have because of it, but she kept composed and continued to assist to the best of her ability. Work-wise, Tanya has kept me updated throughout all of the tests and findings that occurred, to ensure that there were no surprises when it was time to pay. I appreciate the work that she and the technicians have put in so far to ensuring that my vehicle is running and for making sure that the parts needed for my repairs come in sooner than later. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for any maintenance/repairs. While costs can add up at the end of the day, I believe that being able to come to a place with a friendly and trusting staff is hard to find nowadays. BEWARE BECAUSE THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU IF YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CARS! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN! I have a 2018 VW Atlas SE and i took my car in because my check engine light came on. The car also felt as if it was going to die when it was idle so i knew there was an issue. I took it in on Wednesday morning at 830am. They advised my husband they had to keep my car until the next day because they were still running tests. The next day rolls around and they advise they are still doing tests. They couldn't quite diagnose the issue and told me they would let me know. I contacted them that same afternoon and Barbara advised it would be best to keep the car rental, btw I was renting out of pocket until they determined the issue. Friday rolled around and they were still giving me the run-around and because of my frustration, I told them to just change my spark plugs and coils and give my car back. The total cost for a compression test, diagnostic test, spark plugs, and coils was $1,100 and confirmed in a text message between myself and Barbara. Come to find out I was ripped off and that cost is very steep for the work they did. Barbara tells me on Friday they will need to order the parts and won't get to it until Monday when the parts arrive. I called them Monday and they advised parts have not arrived so they will try Tuesday. Before I picked my car up on Tuesday I called ahead and requested all the test results of the car. After all, it has taken a whole week and I was paying for it . When I arrive to pick up the car Barbara gives me the bill for $1,600!!! I asked her what changed. She said that the parts and tests cost me $1,100 but she did not include the cost for installation. At this point, I feel like she's taken advantage of me and I tell her no. I am not going to pay this for 6 new spark plugs and coils. I told her that we had agreed to $1,100 TOTAL on text and showed her the text message to remind her. Long story short, she said she would cover the labor. I got into my car and the car still was rumbling and check engine light came back on after turning my car on the next day. SMH. I declined for the BS carbon cleaning they advised because when I called to shop around for carbon cleaning quotes, the Volkswagen Mechanic told me that my engine type does not see that type of build-up. At this point i felt lied to so I called our family mechanic (he doesn't do European cars) to come and verify they changed my spark plugs and coils and GUESS WHAT? Rather than OEM-manufactured coils, I got some coils and plugs off of AMAZON! I got RIPPED OFF and TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF! I call Barbara and I tell her Check engine light is back on and she says well I told you it'll be an extra cost to go deeper and look into the engine. At this point I'm confused because they held my car for 3 days before they did anything. I asked her to send me the verification of the coils and it's been over a week and she hasn't. They lied! My family mechanic could not believe I paid $1,100 for them to change my spark plugs and coils and for tests that she couldn't even provide paperwork for. I am so disappointed! Somewhat over priced for services, my car was totaled and needs preventive maintenance each time I went there they charged adding $500-$1000 extra services or parts that I needed. My last visit I went back after getting a check engine light 50 miles after my service and They charged my card of file without my authorization, I didn't even get a copy of the diagnostic report until I 3 months later. My car got worse after that last visit. There were also a few times I got my car back and there was immediate issues in which one time I had to get it towed back the same day and then the other time I had to bring it back smoking because one of the mechanics didn't replace some pipe or hose properly. I've been a long time customers from 2019-2024 and honestly their service could be a bit more transparent. I have left there feeling unsure about their business. Everything took the whole busness day. I had to pay for Ubers to get there and back and they would wait until rush hour (peak taxi price time) to be done. I've been there over 10 times so this is a little close to home for me. I never felt valued as a loyal customer especially when I voiced my issues. The last time I had an issue I sent Barbara a long message which she just left me on read. Last time I leave a card on file. Will be taking my cars else where from on. Showing us the services that we pay top dollar for would promote trust between customer and mechanic. Anyone can just say something is wrong and it'll be THIS MICH to fix. This is an update from my first review back in 2019. Happy to say that I am still a customer of Wrench Werks! I honestly can't thank them enough as they've always taken such great care of me and my Volkswagen. Barbara has always been so considerate of me and my financial situation; she will always go the extra mile to help me figure out an action plan to be able to afford the maintenance and repairs my 2012 Tiguan. I also really appreciate the incredible amount of knowledge they have shared with me through out the years. I didn't know until I met them that car engines needed to be cleaned out. Of course no one really thinks of these things, but boy does it make a HUGE difference when the engine is clean versus not clean. Last week I took the Tiguan in to get carbon cleaning done. I haven't done this since 2019! The engine was so dirty that it was embarrassing! But that explains all the random noise and shaking issues. After the cleaning was done, all of those issues cleared up and the car is running smoothly again. In terms of pricing, carbon cleaning is labor intensive and so it will be a little more expensive than your normal repair but you don't do it often (as you can tell, 2019 til now I didn't do one). I paid around $2500 and that includes parts, and 2 days of labor and testing. To me that is a very fair price as they've always shown me their professionalism, up to date knowledge, quality parts, and high level expertise. read more

It's been nearly a decade since my last update, and unfortunately my A5 was suffering from some mechanical issues after 14 years of use. I took the car back to Wrench Werks to get things diagnosed, and unfortunately the cost of the repairs ended up being approximately what the car was worth. Barbara was extremely helpful in outlining the repairs, and also helped me understand the tradeoffs between trying to keep the car alive versus just buying a new car. Although they probably would have made more money doing the repairs, I never felt pressured to decide one way or the other. When I decided to scrap the car, they helped arrange to have it towed away and scrapped at no additional cost. They also arranged a rental car at discounted rates throughout the entire process. I can continue to wholeheartedly recommend Wrench Werks for all of your Audi servicing needs. The service and professionalism I experienced there far exceeded that of the local dealer. I reached out to them on a Sunday and surprisingly got an immediate response. Barbara was very helpful and allowed my car to be towed in the next day. They did a very thorough inspection and found the symptom and cause. While I wasn't ready to spend the money to get it completely fixed, they replaced what I asked to get it back on the road. Always get great service when I take my car in, they haven't seen my car in 4 years while it was away in the mainland. But after my first visit back they found a lot of things that need attention. So I will be taking care of the important things first. But since my car is getting really old parts are becoming hard to find. My overall experience here was pleasant and delightful. My Audi Q5 has been giving me a headache. Replaced what I was told needed replacement from another shop and still issues. I was stressed. I had to do research and take it in with a shop that specializes in Audis and mind you, they're aren't a lot on island. Stumbled upon wrenchwerks, submitted an appointment online and I got an immediate response in the morning from Barbara. The interaction and drop off process was very well communicated and smooth. Speaking with Barbara about my issue, you can feel that she honestly cares. She was also giving me a few pointers on car maintenance, very knowledgeable woman. She also pointed out that my safety is expire and if I would also like to do my safety check there which made it convenient for me. They also offer car rentals for a great price if needed. I had a convertible Volkswagon ESO.My hardtop convertible was stuck and wouldn't go down, after having my car at Volkswagon Collision for weeks, which they said it couldn't be fixed, a friend recommended me to call Barbara at Wrench Werks. I was out of town when Volkswagon Collision had my car, I called Wrench Werks and talked to Barbara, I explained to her what was going on with my car, I was so upset and crying, she said have Volkswagon Collision tow your car to my place, which I did. When she received my car it was in pieces and pretty much destroyed. She let me keep my car at Wrench Werks until I returned home. THE NICEST LADY EVER!! When I returned home I went to Wrench Werks to meet Barbara. My insurance (State Farm) told me my car was a TOTAL LOST. I was so devastated. I brought a 2012 Volkswagon Beetle. This place is the Best ever my brother told me that this is the place who would really take care of my needs for any type of repair because they specialize with Audi/VW auto's and he was so right on it. Came here to get a diagnostic test to figure out why my VW was overheating. After charging me more than $200 for the test, they gave a list of potential repairs costing more than $1k. They suggested that I change out the fan and that repair was about $800 itself. I decided to do it myself and it took 30 minutes using a YouTube video. The car was still overheating, so I brought it back to the shop. They insisted that it was the fan. Instead of paying the $800, I went to get a second opinion - turns out I had a completely different problem. Do yourself a favor, save some money and find another shop. This car shop is a total rip off. Car 2005 audi a4 1.8t First my ac wasn't working so I asked them to check it. They told me it has a small evap leak which costs over 3 grand to fix... It turns out all my AC needed was a recharge. Second, they told me my inner cv boots needed to be replaced so I had them do that. It costs me $800. Now it's been a year and a few months and both of the cv boots they replaced are broken and the warranty is only good for a year. I called the shop and their front desk staff didn't seem to care about my issue because it was after the warranty. They spoke to management and they said they aren't doing anything. This shouldn't have happened. They try to trick people who don't know anything about cars into buying stuff they don't need and they did a horrible job or didn't even replace my cv boots. They claim to use oem parts but my oem ones lasted over 11 years. Do not go here. They are a dishonest mechanic shop. read more

My mk6 GTI was in really rough condition, leaking coolant and oil with multiple failed/failing components. They are ultra-thorough, double checking, test driving, even triple checking the components to ensure the integrity of the vehicle before turning it back over to me. Overall I had a fair experience at Wrench Werks. My car took 6 days to complete (was told 2) and had a massive delay in acceleration after my work was completed. To cut a long story short, their work is awesome however they're just as expensive as dealer pricing even after a discount offered.
