Dry food salty and small portions not good at all...food is not cooked when ordered think twice before eating here

There is something for everyone - carnivores and vegetarians alike. They have two small round tables outside for those who don't want to dine inside. During my latest visit, I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and felt like it was overloaded with end pieces of meat that were tough and too over-done for me. It was a bit tough to eat. I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. I always love the roasted potatoes and any of their wraps are worth every penny, especially the lamb. I've been here twice now for a quick lunch and haven't been disappointed. I've only had the lamb, as I can't resist meat sliced off a spit, but really it's all about the numerous sides you get with a platter. They offer items like roasted potatoes, saffron rice, cucumber salad, tzatziki sauce, and hummus. The flavors are rich and though you get full, you don't feel weighed down like after a greasy meal. The staff are proud of their product and the manager is quick to smile and offer suggestions. I love falafel and was excited to try this place. I ordered the falafel platter and was disappointed to see 4 flat and small falafel pieces. It also had a small scoop of rice, a tablespoon of hummus, tazziki and possibly mayonnaise. The pita was thin and dry. This is a small portion for $14. I guess I got spoiled aftertrying The Falafel Corner in Natomas, CA where the falafels are large, round, fresh and there are 5 pieces .Plus you get a good amount of rice, hummus, and a soft and fluffy pita. Was debating between 3 or 4 stars because nothing was too out of this world, but I sprung for 4 because of the hospitality. You can tell it's a family owned restaurants, and everyone was so nice! The tables were a bit dirty because everyone looked busy, though. We stopped here on our way to Lake Tahoe from the airport and it was a good decision. As for the food, it was pretty decent and worth your money. I got the mixed wrap with gyro and chicken, and the meat was very fresh and crispy (right off the spit). The pita tasted homemade too, but it was lacking a bit on the sauce. Got roasted potatoes and a drink for $3 extra. My parents got the plates that came with a yummy salad and basmati rice, too. Of course, I had to try the baklava too, and it was very different than others. It was very dense which was good, but the Philo dough wasn't very flaky like I like. It's a pretty casual place, cheap, and a good place to stop at on a road trip, but not something you'd go out of your way for. read more

First and foremost the staff is amazing extremely courteous and helpful, they give a person a welcome feeling, and will gladly give details on a dish if a person has any question. If you are looking for quality Mediterranean food, you must come here! We happened to find this place after leaving another store in the shopping center. First, the gentleman (maybe owner) greeted us with a friendly smile. My husband knew right away he wanted falafel but I was totally undecided; I wanted to try everything! The man that was taking our order seen the look on my face that said "order one of everything" and offered me a special they had that was literally one of everything! It had falafel, chicken/lamb gryo, yellow rice, couscous salad, dolmas, hummus and enough pita to eat there and take to go. The tiziki and hummus was literally to die for! Our day started by thinking we could get a healthy yummy lunch at Great Full Gardens in midtown. After ordering and paying for $60 of food and drinks we got up and left leaving 90% of the food on it. I hate waste but it really was that disgusting. Several hours and two covid vaccines later we found ourselves desperate for food that was healthy and yummy. I drove past this place all the time and finally stopped in today with my mom. I got the gyro plate which came with rice, sauce, cucumber salad, potato, hummus, and pita. My mom got the falafel plate which came with everything mine did, but instead of the potato, hers had a stuffed grape leaf. I had a short obsession with Mediterranean food after trying Halal Guys in Los Angeles.  In Reno, we do not have this chain or many Mediterranean restaurants really.  I was excited to learn that Wrap it Up was right next to my work location.  The inside is pretty small and it seemed like a family owned restaurant.  What seemed to be the owners were very kind and took my order promptly.  I ordered the chicken schwarma plate for around $11, which came with chicken and 2 sauces, pickled vegetables, hummus, and a white sauce.  The plate is definitely large and filling.  The chicken was cooked well and was crispy also.  I loved their pickled cucumbers and rice.  The other white sauce and hummus were okay, but I felt like the taste was very different.  After a while, it did start to taste too heavy.   It did not taste as good as when I got Halal Guys in LA, but I think every place does it differently.  It might just be an acquired taste, and just not for me.  However, the people were super nice and I do recommend people try Mediterranean food at least once! read more

We visited Wrap It Up to try their gyros. The employees were very nice and the restaurant looked clean. We ordered the gyros and pitas with hummus. The pitas and hummus were delicious. The gyros were good, but not great. They had a garlic sauce instead of tzatziki, and they didn't use any cucumber. One of the things I love about gyros is the refreshing flavors you get from the cucumbers, and the dill in the tzatziki. Anyway, we would eat here again, but we will go elsewhere next time we want gyros. read more

I have been here a few times. I have tried the shawarma platter and the wrap. The plattter comes with a salad, rice, hummus and potatoes. Everything was pretty tasty. I only got two very tiny potatoes but not a big deal since you are also getting rice and a pita. They have a good spicy sauce which you have to ask for. On Sunday I tried the beef wrap. On this trip I was slightly disappointed since some of the meat was dried out. Nonetheless I would still recommend this place if you are in the mood for Mediterranean food. With Naan and Kabab closed this is the only place I know in Reno serving Mediterranean cuisine. read more
