Chicken tikka masala and veggie samosa
David V.

We ate chicken tikka masala and were underwhelmed. Not much sauce, some questionable pieces of chicken, and we weren't able to adjust the spice level. A disadvantage for my non-spicy wife (well - she's spicy in other ways but I digress...). Anyway, not highly recommended.

Solid Indian street food at Fenway. Both the Wow! Vada Pav and the Rowdy Chilli Chicken were packed with flavor, hot spice-wise and temperature-wise, and appropriately portioned. The one major drawback was that both items were very salty. Thankfully, the flavors made up for that

If you are craving Indian food but looking for a fast casual build your own bowl Chipotle like experience where you don't have to spend a small fortune then Wow Tikka checks the box. The chicken bowl was quite tasty and I enjoyed the variety of add ons that I could put into my order. Decent portion size for the price as well.

Rice bowl with paneer and lamb kofta

A quick to go casual place for Indian Cuisine mixed in with a few restaurants in the Fens. Wow Tikka is great for something quick and easy. I stopped on by one of the nicest and coolest days this summer and even ate outside. Literally the perfect day! Now back to the food. I tried the build a bowl with basmati rice and paneer and lamb kofta which was yummy. My friend got the chicken tikka which was two chicken legs and was $10 which felt kind of pricey but idk man. Not too busy because it was a smaller spot however a ton of to go orders coming in and out. It's a nice little spot to give the fens/fenway area a bit more options apart from all the burgers, pizza and seafood. Bowl with biryani rice, chana, chicken, variety of sauteed veggies and toppings, nutty khorma and madras curry, and dressed with raita/mint

Wow Tikka is a wonderful addition to the Fenway area and offers fast casual Indian food takeaway with customization, which is somewhat of a rarity in Boston. There have been a few others that I can think of that were similar in style, but they didn't stand out as much as I wanted them to be successful. The restaurant itself is small with a few tables and more of a grab and go place. I love the concept of customizable bowls as this approach creates unique flavor combinations, but as much as I liked it, I would not replace this with the traditional Indian restaurant experience. When I arrived, it was one of the coldest and windiest days of the year so there were only a handful of customers. Parking wasn't that bad as long as you park along the perpendicular side streets and not on the main street which was mostly resident permit parking. The staff were upbeat and patiently offered recommendations for us visiting for the first time. They even let us sample the fillings/proteins as well as the variety of sauces. I ended up getting a bowl with their biryani rice (highly recommend despite the extra cost) as well as chana and chicken. They only charged me for the more expensive option even though I chose 2 fillings and the portions were huge! If you're worried about skimpy portions, have no fear. This place will have you in a food coma if you manage to finish it in one sitting. Otherwise, enjoy the price of one for two meals! I also tried their lamb which has a nice spice to it, but the chicken and chickpeas were delicious and bursting with flavors/spices. The sauteed veggies, toppings, and dressings were plentiful as well. I enjoyed the variety of sauces they had to offer, which all have different spice levels noted on their menu board. I tried the Madras Curry as well as the Nutty Khorma, both of which added a nice depth of flavor to the overall bowl. The only knock I have is that because it is like a Chipotle style bowl, everything is mixed so it can be hard to distinguish the flavors of each individual component. The bowl can be quite spicy for the average Joe, but I enjoyed the level of spice and also had a Mango Lassi and a Cold Madras coffee which were sweet and creamy to cut through some of the spice. Overall, I would come back again because they also have a variety of street food that I wanted to try, but I'd probably need to share with someone else given the size of their bowls. If you're in the area and want to experiment with a variety of Indian flavors at an affordable price, then this is the place for you!

This is a small cozy place with great food. I was looking for something light but Indian and came across this place. It's a mix of chipotle kind of construct ( made to order bowl or burrito) but also has the regular Indian street food.. the chats and the pavs. I ordered a chicken taco, yeah the Indian version of the popular Mexican dish. Loved the taste and texture. I also had a vada paav with masala chai. Mmm yummy all the way! Loved it and will certainly return next time I am in Boston.

Awesome spot! If you are looking for a healthy and delicious way to enjoy Indian food, you might want to try a modern health Indian bowl. This is a bowl that contains a variety of ingredients, such as rice, beans, vegetables, protein, and sauces, that are inspired by Indian cuisine. You can customize your bowl according to your preferences and dietary needs. Modern health Indian bowls are a great way to enjoy the flavors and benefits of Indian food without compromising on nutrition or taste. The bowls here are packed with so much flavor from sweet to spicy all in one place. Service was excellent. They have a few tables indoors and outdoors. Indoors is comfortable with AC and Indian music playing in the background. Parking can be challenging here but it is next to a bunch of awesome food options on the strip.

For fast casual Indian food, this is the place to go! So many options and such a reasonable price for a large quantity of flavorful food. Limited seating inside, but quite a bit outside if the weather is nice out. Will totally return here when I'm in the Fenway area!

Build-your-own bowl and mango lassi (delicious)

My second time here, the first time was for a Yelp Elite event. Great experience both times! Vibe: Small cafe, indoor and outdoor seating available. Service: Very good! They let us sample the sauce options before choosing. Food: I got a build your own bowl both times I came and both were delicious! Very hearty food, fresh, quality ingredients, I especially loved the chickpeas, chicken, beets, and the carrot slaw. The mango lassi was delicious! Value: Menu prices were very on point, about $10 + extra for certain proteins for a pretty loaded bowl. Both times I went in hungry and ended up full with a portion leftover to eat later. Other: There is limited 2 hour parking in front (metered) and some free 2 hour parking in the surrounding streets Overall would definitely recommend, good value for good food with good service, this place is 10/10

If I have to think of 1 thing I don't like about Wow!! Tikka, it would be the distance. I'm sad that this place is not right next door to me. Tucked in a residential area near Fenway Park is this gem! I love how you can pick and choose your base, proteins, sauces, and toppings. It is quick, casual, and super yummy. Those meatballs are addictive but the entire meal itself is beyond fulfilling. Definitely a must visit!

I feel like it's so hard to find casual Indian food and this restaurant offers a modern take on fast Indian food! This restaurant is in the Kenmore/Fenway area and when you enter, there's a chipotle-esque style area where you can make your own bowl or wrap. There's other menu items on top of that too! The service is quick and effienct. For food, we got a bowl, naan pizza, vada pan (spiced potato fritter sandwich), samosas. The bowl has so many customizable options so it's perfect for someone who is unsure what to get. I got it with paneer and lamb, different veggies and sauces, and it was delish! The flavors kinda got mixed together too much where it was hard to distinguish but overall good. Naan pizza was surprisingly good- crisp dough, good chicken, but still wish there was a bit more flavor. Vada pan was unlike anything I've had. I think it would've been better on its own and I think they went overkill with the spice. the actual patty was flavorful and aromatic.

This is a great fast-casual spot with good quality food, affordable prices, and extremely kind staff. The portions are large for the build-your-own which start at $9.99. You can either get a wrap, salad, basmati rice, or brown rice and quinoa. The vegetarian fillings include aloo and chana but you can also get other proteins like chicken ($2), meatballs ($2), lamb ($4), paneer ($1), or veg kofta ($1) for an extra cost. They have various sauces, cold toppings, and chutneys that you can add as well. I tried their chicken and chana with tikka masala and spicy vindaloo sauce. The chicken was very moist and both sauces were super flavorful! My server was generous with the amount of rice, chicken, and chana he gave me. For my toppings I got their cucumber and tomato salad which was fresh and crispy. It is very difficult to find lunch/dinner options under $15 these days. You can tell that the employees are super proud of their food. Wow Tikka is such a great addition to the neighborhood!

Chicken Bowl

WOW. Just WOW. This spot is a MUST visit and truly one of the best restaurants I've been too - period. We got a chicken bowl with mango lassi. I've been to many Indian restaurants and wow - every bite was savored. The bowls are HUGE (can feed two!) and their veggies and meats/sauces are so very flavorful. Every bite was refreshing, healthy, flavorful, and unique. The price is also SO shockingly cheap. If I lived in Boston, I'd be here multiple times a week. Do yourself a favor and visit!!

We ordered a couple of appetizers, and they hit all the right notes, especially the Chilli Mushroom, which was a standout. For the mains, the Zafrani Kofta and Kadai Veg were flavorful, perfectly balanced on spice, and not overly oily. The rest of the group tried some non-vegetarian dishes and seemed equally pleased. The interiors felt fresh and inviting, and the staff was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. I don't write reviews often, but this experience deserved one. My mom thought they were a little spicy, but I thought they were great and loved the flavor. Service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Came here for a birthday lunch and I have to say that this restaurant far exceeded my expectations…read more The innovation and modern take on Indian food was exciting, delicious, and I left wanting to order even more items on the menu than we did! I will definitely be back here. Beetroot and peanut croquette ($14) - I've never seen this on an Indian menu before, but it was great! Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the beets and lemon sour cream were perfectly balanced with the peanut chutney. And not only did this taste great, but the presentation was gorgeous. Pani puri ($12) - My favorite starter - I loved how the restaurant separated the liquid from the rest of the ingredients, allowing us to pour it in ourselves to create that satisfying crunchy bite. The flavors melded together perfectly and the texture was exactly what I wanted with this. Butter chicken ($22) - I wasn't sure how they'd elevate butter chicken, but adding the rogan oil and the smoked makhni was absolutely it. The dish looked beautiful, and there was plenty of chicken in it - enough for two people. On top of that, it came with a large order of basmati rice so we didn't have to order any additional rice. Delicious and well worth the price! Chili garlic naan ($7) - This was SPICY. Wow. I drank so much water eating this, but if you like chilis this is for you. There were so many chilis on the naan and you got heaps of them with every bite. The flavor was full and garlicky too, but beware if you do not do well with spice. Gulab Jamun tart ($11) - This was BEAUTIFUL. The silver flakes and just the idea of putting this dessert in a tart was genius. I love this dessert normally, but this version was elevated without losing its core flavors. Really great and floral. Dessert pot ($11) - This was SO SO GOOD. The chocolate layers weren't really a cake - they were crunchy and chewy and soft and just a bombardment of pleasant textures with sweet chocolate. And then the ice cream layers tasted like Masala Chai ice cream, and the playing made it look like a jar of dirt with flowers on top. So so so so innovative and creative - I absolutely loved this dessert. On top of it all, the price of this meal was so incredibly affordable. For elevated food like this, I'd have expected to pay more, but each dish in itself was incredibly reasonably priced. We felt like we got an upscale experience for a very reasonable price, and we will be back again absolutely!

The velvet interiors in jewel tones, the well staffed team who were attentive but not overbearing, and the beautiful presentation of each dish - the experience showed the owners had invested whole heartedly in customer experience, unlike some ethnic food places that do the bare minimum. Everything here was clean, elegant, thoughtful. Now, let's talk about the food. The appetizer (beet croquette) was excellent. The usual trap with kebabs, especially vegetarian ones, is that they feel dry. This didn't. We also got paneer pasanda, which was not my favorite. It was deep fried and turned rubbery. I'm more a fan of soft paneer that melts in your mouth. The lachha paratha was good. The item I'm still thinking of is their amazing mango lassi, which is like a drinking version of srikhand! Overall, I found the pricing to be fair based on the quality of the experience ($7 lassi, $13 appetizer, $20 entree, $8 breads).
