    Mango Lassi

The service was quick and the food was plentiful. We stayed past their open hours (by mistake) and they didn't rush us out which was greatly appreciated. Definitely would return if in the area!

    Tandoori Momo

I tried Tandoori veg Momo for the first time. It's interesting as it's similar to dumpling but different. I'm ok with the fillings but the sauce is good. But the sauce is very salty. The mango lassi is ok. The mango flavor is not that strong. I also tried the vegManchurian (Indo-Chinese) dish. It is my first time too. Even though it doesn't remind me of anything Chinese, but the taste is the best of the day. Even though it's very salty again. I'm not sure if they were designed to eat with bread/naan/rice. I ordered medium spiciness and it has the right kick (American level spicy). I gave 3 stars mainly for the saltiness of the food. The service is good. And parking is easy to find around the block. They have tables available on Friday night without a reservation.

Garlic Naan, Saag Paneer, and Chicken Kadhai Special

My wife and I stumbled into Momo Masala on a summer Jamaica Plain evening, and it immediately felt like we'd found someone's cozy kitchen halfway around the world. The space has that "neighborhood gem" energy -- small, warm, and full of spice aromas that make you hungrier the longer you sit. We started with the Samosa Chaat, and honestly, it set the tone for the whole meal -- tangy, crunchy, and full of flavor layers that made it hard to stop eating. The Saag Paneer was rich and comforting, and the Chicken Kadhai had just the right balance of spice and savoriness. The Garlic Naan came out warm, buttery, and perfect for scooping everything up (and yes, we definitely fought over the last piece). What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were genuinely kind and attentive -- the kind of service that makes you feel like they actually care if you're enjoying your meal. And for all that food, the bill came to around $60 -- incredible value for how flavorful and filling everything was. If you're craving authentic Nepalese and Indian comfort food without the pretense, Momo Masala should be at the top of your list. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit.

Ordered food for takeout. Everything was well packaged. The portions are very large for the price! Everything tasted really good. I would order from here again!

Momo Masala remains our favorite go-to restaurant in JP. From the courteous and patient staff to the delicious food, we've thoroughly enjoyed every visit to Momo Masala. The chili momos are an absolutely staple in our orders and we would definitely recommend them. The lamb curry is delicious and we've ordered it several times, and it consistently delivers. Our cocktails were pretty run-of-the-mill, but we don't visit for the drinks.... It's all about the food here! We will be back for sure.

Hands down some of the best Indian food in Boston! We got takeout but the resteraunt itself seemed very busy with both diners and people getting takeout. The food was beyond flavorful and tasty. Very reasonably priced as well compared to the other Indian resteraunts in the city. Cannot recommend this place enough! Definitely a must when coming to Boston

Came with a friend after a long walk at the park and the food definitely satisfied our hunger! It is a casual and friendly establishment serving delicious Nepali and Indian cuisine. We got the momo masala, chicken tikka masala, and garlic naan. It was my first time having momos and it was SO GOOD! I definitely would come back for these. The waiter didn't come and check in, but if we needed a refill of our water she would kindly and quickly did so after we asked.

This is the third time I've come and was very happy with it again. We got a couple different things, but the chicken momo masala was particularly noteworthy! Service was very friendly and courteous. It was also fairly calm inside. Highly recommend!

2 Piece Vegetarian Samosa delicious and filled with yummy filling.

Ordered a takeout order food ready right on time. We were greeted with a smile and walked away with food ready to get back home. New restaurants have there challenges, but this one is running along nicely and the food is to die for. See photos for more.

WOW! What a treat to welcome Himalayan food to JP. And such incredible food it is. Make sure you try not just the classic Indian dishes like tikka masala and palak paneer, but the momos from the end of the menu. I haven't had Himalayan food before and really enjoy the combination of spices. A+ for allergy safety, lots of options for people with nut or wheat allergies, and a big vegan menu! Momo does a lot of take out business and they're fast and reliable. Eating in is also very pleasant with a bright sunny space and extremely good waitstaff. I enjoyed the music and the ambiance in general. There aren't many tables, so on busier nights you might need a reservation. There is one big table in a separate area that would be nice for a group of 8-10. The best part of eating in was eating the food right out of the oven- the garlic naan smelled so good and tasted crispy and delicious. I love this restaurant and I'm so glad they opened!

Great to have a Momo place in the neighborhood. Ambiance: Decent, sitting, tables, decor, etc. However, place seems a bit small. That being said I got a table right away, went around 6:15 PM. Service: No complaints here, the staff are friendly, and they did allow me to do a half and half on the types of momo, which let me try two types. Food: I got medium level spice, so wasn't too spicy, but also intentional because wanted to see how flavors were. The flavors in the momo were great. I ordered Chicken Tandoori Momo and the Chicken Hariwali Momo Masala. I preferred the Hariwali. They give 10 in one order, took the rest home, so would recommend splitting the order if with someone. Laccha Paratha was good. GREAT chicken curry, the blend of spices, bell pepper, onion reminded me a a bit of Kanda Bateta Nu Shak. My next item to try will likely be the Eggplant Bhartha, there menu seems to have a lot of variety.

Chicken tikka masala and vegetable pakora
    Ashley L.

We picked up takeout from Momo Masala and were very impressed! The most noteworthy dish was definitely the veggie pakora. We ate the whole box in minutes! The pakora had the perfect mix of veggies and the sauces and chutneys it came with were INCREDIBLE. We also got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan which were good, but not the best we've ever had - a hint too much coriander in the Masala for my liking. Regardless we would definitely order again and next time are getting TWO orders of veggie pakoras!

The restaurant was comfy; there was an electric fireplace on the wall which made the room feel homey. We got fried pork momos, which were delicious and juicy. I was interested in trying the C-style, but we had a non-spice eater at the table. I got the pork chili from the appetizer menu and garlic naan for my meal, and my companions got the chow mein and sekuwa. The chow mein looked standard and sekewa was grilled chicken served with puffed rice (looked like rice krispies). Everyone was happy with their meals, but I especially loved mine. There were slices of pork belly in a flavorful sauce with tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. Note that the pork belly still has the skin on it (which I personally love). My only complaint was at medium, the food seemed mild, but I'll be clearer of my spice preferences next time. I would definitely come back specifically for the pork chili!

First time trying Nepalese food. This story tells us why some cuisines aren't popular (in China)…read more.. Papad: A complimentary crispy snack served before the meal. A combination of the texture of Mexican tortilla chips and the flavor of Indonesian shrimp chips. As someone whose ancestors migrated to Indonesia (half Hakka), I've eaten shrimp chips since childhood, so it felt instantly familiar. The condiments were tamarind sauce and pickled onions. The former was rich, thick, and refreshingly sweet and sour, strangely reminiscent of Cantonese roast goose with plum sauce, a perfect match for the crispy snack; the latter also had a predominantly sweet and sour tomato flavor, but the subsequent strange taste and spiciness of the paprika was too much for a Cantonese person like me. Mango Lassi: Absolutely delicious!!! Lassi is Nepalese yogurt, with a very smooth and delicate texture; the sweetness of the mango was naturally rich and not overpowering, not masking the rich sourness of the yogurt itself. Writing this review, I finally understood why I loved it--it's basically a yogurt version of Hongkongese mango pomelo sago... Mo:mo (Steamed) - Pork: Nepalese version of xiaolongbao小籠包 (soup dumplings). The filling had a moderate concentration of spices, allowing you to taste the meat's natural flavor; however, the skin near the bottom had cracks, so there were no soup. The dipping sauce, Achar, was interesting, with the sweet and sour taste of tomatoes, the spiciness of garlic and ginger, and a hint of nuts, making it overall refreshing. However, what might be hard for Chinese people to understand is that steamed buns are supposed to be eaten fresh out of the pot, so why was the dipping sauce cold? Reheating it at home with the sauce made it much more palatable. Nepali Thaali - Goat: The standard vegetarian option included lentil soup (Dal), curried potato and cauliflower (Tarkari), stir-fried vegetables (Saag), pickled radish cubes (Achaar), long-grain rice (Bhat), ghee, and a slice each of white radish, carrot, and cucumber, plus an extra serving of goat curry. In short, it was a bunch of spice paste with rice. I won't judge whether it was good or bad; I just really didn't like it. The spices were extremely complex and intense; towards the end, I even felt dizzy and questioned my existence, completely disoriented by what I was eating--it felt so strange, like something that shouldn't exist on Earth... The Dal seemed to use more mung beans than lentils, with a slightly burnt and bitter aftertaste; both vegetables in the Tarkari were overcooked, but the curry itself was rather weak and bland; the Saag seemed to use mustard greens, similar to stir-fried greens in Chinese cuisine but on the oilier side, with dried chilies that only added aroma, not spiciness. The curried goat meat, however, was quite good, savory and rich, the meat's flavor finally making it taste less like herbs. Muttering to myself: Each has its own beauty, let's all appreciate beauty together...
