I wasn't sure what to expect, but damn these dumplings are delicious! We got the pan fried dumplings and the soup and honestly, we didn't go wrong with either one. What sticks out in my mind was the soup though- it was so comforting flavorful. I could taste some cilantro and cumin maybe? And then a definite hit of acid in the broth which really took it to another level. The dumplings were perfect ratio of filling to wrapper, and definitely made with love. Found this spot which is Nepalese food establishment that looks to stay authentic! The dining area was super clean, well organized with utensils napkins etc all on the counter. They do have TVs but i think it's for promotions and music videos. Now on a fiery hot day i can tell you their AC wall unit is an ice box. The temps dropped with the rain today so it was freezing for us to dine in (I'm sure they would have adjusted the temp) but we didn't want to make them go out of their way. The owner and staff were super nice. It looked like the food was cooked to order and hand made. So be a bit patient, still it didn't take that long maybe 15min but felt longer cause we were cold. We got the Momo's of course and decided to try the pan fried version. I thought the pan fry could have lasted a tad longer to make the momo wrap a bit crispier to hold when eating haha but not a big deal. The pork filling tasted fresh, my preference would have been nice with a tad more seasoning in the pork mix. The sauces they give you, the dark red is a spicy sauce and the orange/yellow is a very TASTY sauce. I'm not certain what the sauce is but it went great with the momo! Take a bite, and get some that sauce inside for the next bite. Would order again in one of their other versions! We also got the chicken chili, pictures looked good. Now i was kind of expecting it to be similar to Thai Crispy chicken basil, but it was like a hybrid of that and general gau chicken. There was a nice hint of a spicy kick to it with the onions and peppers stirred in. The sauce was good overall. I believe they used all white meat chicken for that dish for those that prefer that. Really love the portion size and the flavor here! Have picky eaters in the family but everyone loved the food. Vegetable Curry was delicious! So flavorful and so perfect with the rice. No complaints at all! Steamed Chicken Momos - really big and good. We got eight in the one order and they were all really large as well. Definitely very filling. Not a fan of the sauce on the side but the momos didn't really need them. Goat Curry - amazing! Mutton was very tender and so perfectly cooked! Meat pretty much fell off the bone. So good. I have been itching to try momos and today, we decided to make the trip to Somerville to try! **There's plenty of meter parking outside on the street. The inside of Tasty Mo:Mo is super clean and they had the air conditioning blasting, which was great since it was an extremely hot week but it got unbearably cold while we were waiting for our food. We decided to try the Kothey (pan-fried) pork momo & chicken chili. Both dishes tasted fresh and it was a pleasant experience. This is more of a take out spot than a sit down dine in, I would say. The Kothey pork momo had good flavor and the dipping sauces they give, did not overpower the momos. The chicken chili reminded me of General Tso's chicken. It was yummy and had good flavor but not what I expected for the flavor profile. They used chicken breasts for this dish. It had a nice kick to it but not so spicy that it made my nose run haha. I think Tasty Momo was good, but the competition is a little too strong in the area. There are actually a LOT of places to get momos around here. I found this place on Yelp when I was staying at a relative's in Sommerville. This place was so good, we went back again for a second time during this 6 day visit!! The employees were friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable of their menu. We ordered: chili fries, steamed vegan Momo, Kothey Momo vegan, fried rice no egg Everything was delicious. I can't speak for "authenticity" since I'm not Himalayan but the momos here were honestly the best we've ever had in all our momo-eating days. The wrapper had just the right amount of bite to it and the filling was juicy and plump, stuffed full of veggies. The chili fries were only okay since they got a little soggy by the time we got home with our takeout but they were awesome when we dined in later that week. The Kothey Momo wasn't our favorite only because it took trying it for us to realize we want steamed momos to dip in the sauce ourselves. The fried rice was aromatic and full of flavor. We ordered no egg for me, the vegan, so know that that is an option if you are vegan and want fried noodles or fried rice. It was our last day in Boston and I am a huge momo (dumpling) fan and it made absolute sense to stop by this place! This is a small traditional nepalese family run momo restaurant. There is reasonable seating inside. We placed an order to go since we were getting late for our flight back to Seattle. We ordered their chilli chicken momos, pork jhol momos, chicken chowmein noodles and EVERYTHING was delicious inspite of having tasted it 8 hours after being freshly made in their kitchen. The flavors had depth and were authentic. Their spice levels are awesome too so folks be aware. The service was great and several folks (especially students) line up for togo orders here. If you pay cash you get a discount (this was way back in Oct 2022 though) All in all this will be a place I highly recommend for dumpling lovers in Boston and I will frequent it whenever I am here. read more

First off - I drove a LONG time to finally try this place! Himalayan/Nepalese Momos are similar to Chinese dumplings - but better! I don't know what's different but the fillings were amazing and the accompanying sauces were to die for! I had chicken. You can get them fried or just steamed. There's a few different types. I tried the spicy chili sauce . My friend tried the the Jhol momo with a sesame/tomato sauce - divine! The staff were pleasant and service was quick. We went at an "off" time so there wasn't a long wait for service. It's not a fancy place - very basic decor but we were going for the food - not the interior design! 10/10 would recommend! read more

Overall mixed feelings on the food. Loved the pani puri, hard to find decent pani around here. The momos seemed a bit bland, but they've never been my favorite, and the sauce they came with was quite good. We also tried the indo chinese chicken and noodles, which were fine, but also slightly on the bland side. Note that this isn't the place for a nice sit-down dinner--it's primarily takeout (with high volume!), has limited seating, and the service is accordingly slightly brusque. Food (1.5/2): After the 2nd time ordering from this place, I can say that their momos are great! Though the wrapping is a bit thick/doughy for my taste, the fillings were juicy and well-seasoned. Jhol momo sauce had a nice hint of spicy without being overwhelming and adds a layer of fresh, nutty flavor to each bite. On the other hand, the goat curry was quite a disappointment. The curry sauce was simple and decent. The meat was well-cooked. Nevertheless, our meat had a lot of bones--especially the smaller ones, which made eating it rather unpleasant. Service/wait-time/cleanliness (1.5/2): Last I went the service was great and cleanliness is well maintained. However, the wait-time was rather long when it was only my party that had orders (and not that many either. Price (0.5/1): Price is a mix. For the momos, they're basically a great deal--especially when compared to other restaurants that serve similar cuisines. Since we ordered take out, the fried momos were slightly harder - not giving that steamed softness. My favorite momo type is the jhol momos. You can feel the love and heart in these homemade momos. The owner is warm and kind. Try the pork kothey or enjoy the chicken thukpa on a rainy day. Steamed chicken momos are our 2nd top choice. Hands down the juiciest dumplings ever. Take a bite and meat juice is spraying and dripping down your chin onto the table. The dumpling skin is so smooth and the meat (I get chicken) is super flavorful. I cant handle spice but Momos are worth it. Both the tomato based sauce and curry based sauce are packed of flavorful spices. My favorites the pan fried and curry momos. The curry momos have a spicy tomato taste and I am heart eyes over it. I thought this place was fine. It had so much promise, but it did not deliver. It was an alright place... Maybe I'd give it 1 more try in the future, but as of right now, not my favorite. The food was alright. I got the Chili Momo and Samosa... Chili momo was a 3/5 and the samosa was a 2/5.... I don't like the chili sauce, very flavorless and the dumpling itself was underwhelming. I think the worst was the samosa. I didn't know what to expect because I've never had a samosa before but its just chunks of potatoes in a baked hard dough. Oh well! Service was awkward too. I was very excited to try Nepali food but I felt a little let down tbh. First of all, I thought I was getting a special shrimp momo but I ended up getting chicken curry so that was very strange.. The chips chili were missing the chilies and the chicken pan fried momo my boyfriend got was ok. My mango lassi was in a takeout container which was odd, I was surprised and a little confused in how to drink it. Regardless, it was good, thick mango yogurt. Love an easy takeout process in the time of COVID! These made-to-order momos are so satisifying. The chili momos with beef are HOT, and the filling is nicely spiced. Our pork momos were absolutely delish and came with 2 sauces on the side, a very spicy dark red sauce and a milder orange sauce. The orange one was especially a hit - we put this on EVERYTHING from the momos to the chowmein. 3/17/20 I came here for lunch and ordered the pork and chicken soup dumplings. I tried the chili dumplings and I gotta admit, I'm glad I got the pork soup. The spice on the chili tossed dumplings had a lingering type of spice and my tongue was on fire after the first bite. But regardless, the food was phenomenal. It was all made to order and the staff was friendly. The restaurant and bathroom was clean. Service was great. Food was fresh and delicious. A small, no-frills restaurant that specializes in Nepalese cuisine, and their food is sooo delicious! Came here on a Friday night and ordered 2 orders of half steamed/half pan-fried pork and beef momos, as well as one goat curry. Really wished they updated their menu because I almost didn't catch the sign behind the cashier for the additional menu items. Their momos were super juicy and the sauces that came with it were extremely flavorful, which was perfect during a cold, winter night. The goat curry had a TON of spices (not spicy) and it was so good and hearty, although a bit pricey at $13. Some of the best momos in the Boston area and the people here were friendly too. Recently moved from smaller digs across the street, Tasty Mo:Mo has doubled its seating capacity (18 at tables, 6 at stools) and expanded its menu with more frequent and numerous specials. The core of the menu, obviously, is the momo, a Tibetan-style dumpling that can be had steamed ("momo"), pan-fried ("kothey"), deep-fried (new), or doused in chilli sauce ("chili"), sand filled with pork, chicken, beef or vegetable. They all come eight to an order; the non-chilli versions come with two thick/smooth dipping sauces: tomato and chilli. Quality is sky high, as they're made to order and this is what they do. It's best to order different fillings and different styles, then compare and contrast. But be sure to try some--especially the pork--without dipping. They're not just vessels for the dipping sauces; these momos pack enough fragrant flavor and juice gush to fly solo. Go ahead and use the sauce too, but appreciate that it's more of an elevating agent than a crutch. There's a fried chicken dish that's not particularly crispy, but I don't think it's really trying to be. It's coated with that thick, tomatoey, spicy sauce and augmented with vegetables. Think of it more as a stew and it'll hit the spot. A chilli potatoes special was a hit: basically a Himalayan/vegetarian version of poutine, with hot crisp fries, chilli sauce, and sauteed veggies. The momos reheat well, but if you're intentionally getting extra to take home, the non-fried ones work best. I'd like to see a little more menu expansion before giving a 5, but Tasty Mo:Mo is a very solid 4 and extremely consistent in high quality from visit to visit. If you're considering a visit by car and fear the nearby Ball Square construction, here's some good news: whatever time you lose there will be made up by the more plentiful parking near Tasy Mo:Mo lately. read more

I would have to disagree with a lot of reviews here unless I got them in a bad day. I cheated on my "regular momo" place and gave this place a try and I am very disappointed. "Jhol momo" literally means "soup momo". I got 2 spoon of soup to go with my momo lol.....and also I asked for extra sauce. I was literally laughing as if it was a joke (picture attached). Also my dumplings barely had anything inside and it was just a ball of dough to go with 2 spoon of sauce. I ordered from my regular place and I've also attached the sauce they provided for my "jhol momo". You guys can be the judge. I'm struggling to understand how this place is highly rated. We got take out here and the food was not satisfying. We were looking forward to momos all week and this place DID NOT hit the spot. They had poured sauce all over the momos which made them super soggy. It kinda sucks that things are mostly take-out during these times and by the time we got home with the food, the momos were soggy. Not only were they soggy, but they weren't even tasty. Then we moved on to the veg chowmein which has no salt and no flavor to it so we had to fix the noodles at home. Kinda defeated the purpose of take out. What an exhausting night! read more

This little restaurant was the perfect introduction to momos. We tried the samosas, deep fried momos, and chili momos; all of which were vegan! The samosas were crisp, spiced,and came with a tasty sweet sauce. The deep fried momos were really crispy and the filling was delicious! The chili momos were my favorite, soft and chewy with the same delicious filling and spicy sauce. As for service, it seems designed more for taking out than dining in. You order and pay at the front counter, have to get your own water, and are not waited on. That being said, I would still recommend this place for the tasty food. read more
