A solid lunch/dinner choice in the area. Lunch buffet price is at $21.95 as of summer 2025. I love the fact that it's easy to book small or large parties via OpenTable. Service is always friendly. They get busy, but they are attentive.

The Maharaja is a more upscale Indian restaurant and is located on the second floor which provides a new view from the dining room area. The restaurant layout is like an L shape with a bar on the side and restrooms at the end. There are lots of windows so the restaurant gets a lot of natural lighting that's great for photos. The mango lassi is a staple drink that I order at every Indian restaurant. The one here was okay and wasn't too sweet. Our meal started off with a few pieces of complimentary crispy papadum served with 3 sauces. It was good, but a bit salty. The chicken Tikka masala was the star of the night. We asked them to make it on fire and as spicy as possible and they delivered! It came with a side of rice and the sauce was creamy and delicious. The Seekh kebab came out in a sizzling plate and was served with some vegetables. It looked great, but the flavor wasn't there and was surprisingly bland. The garlic naan was also a bit bland and disappointing. It didn't seem to have enough garlic flavor. The Aloo Gobhi (roasted cauliflower) was a nice vegetarian dish that was properly sauced. Overall, the food was alright, but expensive. The chicken tikka itself was $25 when it's usually a dish that's less than $20. The service started off excellent, our server was attentive and checked on us every couple of minutes. Towards the end of the meal, he was elusive and we had to get his attention to get to go boxes and the check. The food came out every quick, the first dish came out in less than 5 minutes. With so many better restaurants around Cambridge, I'm not sure if I'll be back.

I ordered lunch from here during the week via a catering service. Because of this I can't speak on the actual ambiance of the restaurant but I can say that the food is great! I ordered the tandoori salmon which came with veggies, rice and dal maharaja, all which were delicious. Portions were generous! Couldn't finish it all in one sitting. Highly recommend!

$21.95 buffet lunch was excellent! Loved the tandoori chicken, saag paneer, the chutneys and the curries. They even have the dessert with the dough balls in the sweet sauce. Ambiance is nicer dining so it looked super fancy from the street but the lunch buffet was exactly what we needed.

The location is in a really weird office building on the 2nd floor. I liked that they gave us papadum with sauces. We got samosas which were really good and nice level of spice. We also got the butter chicken, garlic naan, and Chana masala which were all really good and a nice portion! Service was really fast and they checked in a lot. The restaurant is more formal and it's nice to overlook the street from the 2nd floor.

Little tricky to find on the second floor overlooking Winthrop Park. Beautiful view of the activities and underneath. Large dining room lots of windows. Service was very nice and attentive. The naan -bread, papadum were delicious. I didn't like the green salad. The samosas were just ok. Mutter paneer was very good. Chicken tikka masala was good.

My friend and I had walked all around Boston, nearly 20000 steps in total. We finally decided to get dinner before heading back home, and this was where we decided to enjoy our last meal together. Food: Our waiter chose some of the house specialities for us including garlic naan, lamb dish, and chicken tandoori. They were warm and flavorful and hearty, not anything incredible special, but perfect ending to our long day. But be warned, they don't mess around with their spices, the spice levels are catered to true Indians, not an amaericanized weakling like me. I shed some tears eating the tandoori chicken and my tongue and esophagus burned, but it was still good and I actually ate through a fair portion with lots of water. The cocktail I ordered was a little too strong for my liking, felt kinda tipsy after the glass hehe Price: around $23-26 per dish, which is on the pricy side, but keep in mind, this is kind of an upscale Indian restaurant Ambiance: great view of Cambridge from the second floor, I was thankfully seated right next to big windows overlooking the outside little park area. The inside is very large spacious, dimly lit, decorated well with red undertones. Seems like a great place for a date night, romantic dinner together with your significant other Service: all the workers here are Indian, and our waiter was funny and very welcoming! He made menu suggestions, joked about few small things, and attentive, checking on our table frequently (but not TOO frequently) to see if we needed anything. Overall amazing service Parking: we had walked all around and ended up in Cambridge in an uber. We ended up ubering back to Jamaican Plains after the dinner. Not sure about the parking situation, but it seemed pretty difficult to find an available spot around this busy part of town

Came here for lunch on a weekday and the place was pretty empty - definitely don't need to worry about getting a table in the middle of the day. We were seated quickly and had our orders taken almost as soon as we knew what we wanted; the workers didn't have much to do given how quiet the space was. We got a few starters and entrees for three people; I would say the amount we got was just enough for all of us. The taste was pretth good, I enjoyed the curries more than the apps especially due to portion size, all of which was on the smaller side especially given the price. I find this spot, if it's not for buffet, to be extremely overpriced. The mango lassi was good, just again on the smaller side. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back unless it was all you can eat. I've come in the past on a weekend and had a nice buffet then so only under those circumstances would I willingly return. Regardless, decent service and yummy food, it's just the price that is the result of three stars.

The food was pretty standard. Just as flavorful as I expected. My friends and I (party of 5) went for dinner and we did not need to wait for a table. Staff was nice. The ambiance was nice enough to be a good restaurant for celebratory meals as well as meals to catch up with friends!

Went here for a friend's birthday with a party of five. The presentation of the food was amazing. Everything came out in its own dish in a way that indicated that the plates were meant to share. For my main dish I ordered the chicken tikka masala with medium spice and a side of butter naan. The chicken did have a good but not overpowering spice and paired well with the naan. I was surprised to find that the dishes (the appetizers) were not served hot and I would have appreciated some indication of this on the menu. The waitstaff was incredibly kind and surprised us with singing, dancing, and a great dessert for my friend's birthday! Would definitely return for another meal.

Best Indian restaurant in Boston/Cambridge area! Located in Harvard square in a prime second floor location with a great view. It was quite crowded inside because of graduation weekend but they managed to squeeze us in. They have a wide selection of dishes to choose from, and we tried their chicken tikka, vegetable biryani, and tofu vindaloo. My favorite was the chicken tikka, which was incredibly flavorful and the chicken was tender. The portions were all filling and went well with a side of naan.

Server is nice and friendly. Service was a bit slow due to their staff lunch hours but food came out within 15-20 mins. I ordered their mango lassi, chicken pakora, and lamb rogan josh. Mango lassi is refreshing and retains its mango taste. Chicken pakora is tender and juicy with a strong cumin taste. The sauce is runny but rich. Definitely excellent. Lamb rogan josh is awesome too. The lamb was nicely cooked. It's not gamey and the broth was rich and thick. Definitely a good substitute for lamb vindaloo.

Woman approached me and said "Take-out?" I said "One." She repeated "Take-out?" I said, "Table for 1." She said, "We're closed." I pointed to the neon sign that said "Open till 11 PM." She said they closed at 9:30 PM. I repeated what its own site says, what I was told when I called 40 minutes ago, what the sign says. She says "We're open only for take-out." I said I'd been there before, as late as 10:15 PM, for dining in. She repeated that they're closed "cause they already cleaned." I asked for the manager. "The manager's not in." Then a big guy comes out and gets in my face looking for a confrontation. Full kitchen staff, at least 3 wait persons, OPEN till 11 PM, but they refuse to serve me, even though they're open for another hour and 20 minutes, and I'm a party of one. I tell them that that's deceptive business practices and false advertising, that I was a long-time customer but will never go there again. No apology. No offer to make up for a wasted trip after getting false info on phone. No manager name info. I suggest getting a party of 75 together, going in at 10:30 PM, ordering take-out, and then taking seats at tables and unwrapping and eating ... slowly. No wonder this place has been mostly empty for the past year.
