Ordered on weekday afternoon on uber eats. Got it on time and it was still warm so points to uber eats. I ordered thali- i chose 2 entrees aloo mattar & paneer kadhai. Aloo mattar was okish at best and paneer kadhai was not authentic it was pretty sweet. Paneer was pretty dry. No spicy flavors at all (tbh it kinda threw me off a little). It came with rice naan & papadum. All of them were fresh and warm- no complaints. Paneer tikka masala katti roll- literally just turned the same paneer kadhai curry into roll and called it kathi roll. Literally exact same taste. paneer was dry and hard af. Like i'd spend my money in indian grocery store & get authentic roll for half price. Chicken jhol momo- this was a saving grace. I absolutely loved that they put jhol in a different container. *I will update this review if the restaurant manager is able to appropriately fix the situation* I spent a couple hours checking out menus online, looking for a place to get Indian street food and Indo-Chinese food. 10 years ago, I spent 8 months eating my way through India so it's always fun to find places in the US that offer more than the standard Punjabi curries found in most Indian restaurants in Massachusetts. I headed to Mint based on the great reviews, good prices, and an assortment of kathi rolls, chaats, and Indo-Chinese food. When I first placed my order (samosa chaat, paneer chili kathi roll, baby corn manchurian), it was evident there was an issue with the POS and/or front of house communication. I was quoted at nearly 30 dollars for the 3 snack items -- when I brought the high price to the worker's attention, she told me she had incorrectly put into the POS a paneer curry dish instead of the kathi roll I ordered. No big deal, she changed the order, showed me my updated receipt, and all seemed well. She also asked for a tip, which I gladly offered although found quite forward to ask for. I waited probably 15 minutes for my order. It's great to see everything is being made upon ordering. The worker called my name, read out my receipt items, and off I went with my food. I live in Haverhill, so it's roughly a 40 minute drive home. When I got home, two of the three items were wrong. No samosa chaat and no kathi roll. Instead, I had two samosas and a paneer chili curry with rice. I called up and expressed my concerns that my order was mostly inaccurate. I explained what my receipt said, and what food I had been given. I asked for a refund. I was told a manager would call me later tonight. 10 minutes later the same worker calls me back and tells me there will be no refund, because what I ordered and paid for was cheaper than the food cost for the incorrect items I was given. I pointed out this didn't matter to me - two of the three items were wrong and not what I ordered or paid for. I also don't eat rice! The worker again told me no refund because I had been given more expensive food than what I had paid for. I repeated that didn't matter - the order was wrong and not what I paid for. She then asked me to come back and exchange the food; I explained I just arrived home and it's a 40 minute ride between Mint and where I live. Not happening. I'm waiting for the manager to call me and make this right. Look, mistakes happen and I know restaurants are hurting right now because of the pandemic. But arguing with me about food cost when it's evident I was given the wrong food is ridiculous. And what is the point of tipping front of house, upon their request, when they don't even check the order? Not happy. read more

Damn it. Kati rolls are so amazing, it sort of blew my mind when I had it. It definitely turned into one my most favorite things. It did remind me of the Indian style burrito that I had in Cali, but this one was a bit different as it was smaller and it was made with an egg cooked with the tortilla. Anyways, Mint Indian Eatery was a place I saw that was within the hotel shuttle distance so I decided that we should check this place out since we were in the area. And it did not disappoint. When we got here, there were only like 6 or 8 tables there and that was it. It was a take out spot, as you can also order through GrubHub. But, coming here was an experience in itself because we got to talk to the owner and he got to explain what momos were as well. It was different and sort of nice. Now to the food. You already know what I had. I had two, yes two, kati rolls. One was chicken tikki masala and one was lamb. To top it off, we decided to order momo's. Now I have to say, even though i'm very biased when it comes to it, soup dumplings (xiao long baos) reign supreme. But, this isn't too bad... I believe that there was too much breading, but that's just me. That was one of the big differences between the two, one has soup, one doesnt. The momos didn't have any soup to it, and to me the soup dumpling just gives you that extra that blows it out of the water. So is it worth it? Hell yes. We actually ordered as a take out the next week or the same week, as there was snow and we didn't want to go anywhere. I didn't feel like driving and we didn't want to deal with the cold. If you're in the area, and you want to try some quick Indian food, this place is your spot. Was curious what Indian street food was like, so decided to hop in on a whim. Ordered the Kati roll, described as an "Indian burrito" in two filling/flavor types - the paneer tikka masala and the lamb curry. The cheese was decent tasting, though the tikka masala sauce was probably a bit too rich. Oddly, the flavoring wasn't spiced quite right - either missing spices or had a mix of spices that didn't fit well together. Also odd, both rolls had too much sugar, much beyond expectation. The lamb curry was also decent, but again too sugary. Most of the lamb bits were a bit tough, though some were very good. The onion and pepper mix needed to be sliced more evenly - some slices were thin enough, but some were thicker, giving a feel of chunkiness when eating. Everytime we order from this place usually either something is missing or the portions is very very small compared to prices you pay! They also add a lot of butter/oil? Which makes the actual taste of the food to go away. After passing by the storefront right off Powderhouse many times, we finally found the time (and hunger) to pop in and see what Mint is about. I have to admit I was curious: with all of the flavorful and exotic herbs & spices in this type of cooking, why call an Indian/Nepalese restaurant Mint? The space was empty around 5:30pm on a Sunday, but a steady stream of people came in to pick up orders, so it seems like more of a take-out place. But I encourage you to sit and stay a while. There are a few tables as well as window stools, some cute decor, and the best part: free milky masala tea! A large thermos, small cups, and sugar are waiting in the window, ready for you to pour yourself a cup and relax. That's reason enough for me. I'm horrible at making decisions, so I asked the girl behind the counter for her recs, and she said the thali and the momos were most popular. When I followed up by asking which dishes exactly, she didn't seem to understand the question (or just didn't want to play favorites). So we just picked what sounded tasty and hoped for the best. We got a thali with channa masala & crispy spicy chicken, which includes basmati rice in the tray and a side of daal (spicy lentil soup). We also ordered the curry chicken kati roll to share. The thali had great flavor, not lacking in spice but not overpowering, and a good value for the amount of food. But what blew me away was the kati roll. The flavors of the chicken, veggies, thin layer of egg, and mint chutney mixed in a way I had never experienced. And there was the answer to my initial curiosity: MINT CHUTNEY. Terrible food. This is not what Indian food tastes like at all. I ordered 3 dishes from here recently and all three were bad. Naan was undercooked and raw. "Chilly" paneer was sweet like sugar syrup. Chicken tikka masala was was plain bad. Overall a big disappointment and felt like they just pulled something that was sitting there, tossed it some ketchup and sent it over. Adding our review after our second visit here. The restaurant is small but there has always been seating available. The good: Definitely recommend getting the chatt (appetizers)! The samosa Chatt is our favorite and the best in Boston/Cambridge/Somerville. The samosa isn't overly greasy and the tamarind sauce is good. The okay: the kati roll was interesting as it's a paratha roll with egg. If you aren't a fan of raw onions, maybe ask for them on the side. Came here Sunday for lunch, was surprised just how small and empty the restaurant was but impressed with the cleanliness and simplicity. Ordered the combo with lamb curry and chicken chili with rice and a side of dal (complimentary). Could have added the Samosa for $2.00 but I was not interested. The lamb was great! Tender good size chunks of soft lamb, honestly surprised by the amount of lamb. The chicken chili was something I'd never had before so can't compare but thought it was rather salty for my taste with a hint of sweet and spicy. The red peppers were good, the chicken was coated with something I couldn't identify, possibly chickpea flour or wheat flour. I didn't ask if it was gluten free. My fault. Wouldn't order it again. Over all for $13.00 I was happy the lamb curry, would definitely get it. There are a lot more options to choose from next time. The staff person who took my order was super nice and worried when I asked about spice level, nice to know you can adjust the levels. Next time I'd personally increase the spice. This is THE BEST indian food I have ever had, and it's soooooo close to our house. Dangerous! Our new neighbors recommended it, and we've had it 3 times since we've been here. The food is fresh, seems to be quite authentic, and has a lot of great choices not usually seen at other indian eateries. (Papdi chaat, hellllooooooo get in my belly). Their momos are superb. Their lamb momos are great and more filling than other momo I've had. The wrapper on more than half of them were broken when served to me, but not a huge deal I guess. When I went, I was the only person in the restaurant. The order still took about 25 minutes to come out, so they're not very fast. I went back on another night when they had a few customers in the store. I stood at the cashier for almost 10 minutes without getting my order taken, so not a place I would recommend if you are in a rush. read more

Such a great little gem of a place! Hearty portion sizes for delicious and different types of Indian foods- chaats, momos, kati rolls, curries, plus indo-chinese noodles. I swear I've not had better samosa chaat in Boston so far. You have got to try this dish out- hot and fresh just like how street foods are meant to be eaten! Their paneer tikka kathi roll was OKish, the paneer was nice and well marinated so it didn't feel like I was simply eating salted paneer with some veggies in a tortilla. I was so excited to see Hakka noodles on their menu and I went for it. Very spicy and hot but totally worth it! This little hole in the wall is an interesting mixture of Indian and Nepali fusion. The dal was different than what I was expecting and more like a chili. Besides the dal which wasn't my favorite (a bit strange and smoky), the food was delicious and affordable. My favorite was the tikki masala chicken (very buttery) and the buffalo mo mo's. The accompanying chipati was a little too fried but nevertheless delicious. The palak paneer was good too but very heavy with a very thick spinach. The thali box at $12.50 is a pretty good deal with more food than I could eat. Recommend the $1 extra for the big tasty samosa. The space is intimate and more of a lunch counter style eatery. Five stars for the food, but one star for the service. My boyfriend and I walked in around 10:15 pm, there was few other people dining in. The woman at counter looked at us but then proceeded to ignore us. She didn't say anything, just went about packing an order for delivery. First off the chicken momo was very flavorful, looking at the chili sauce you would think all the flavor is in the sauce but when you bite into the dumpling, the ground chicken and spices has a lot of flavor in itself. The amount of food you get in the combo platter is well worth 12.50. There were no options to pick level of spice on the food, I would say everything was made about medium spicy. So one day I was having trouble parallel parking and this gentleman comes over and helps me maneuver into the spot. We get to talking and he tells me that he's Nepali and I tell him how I grew up in Jackson Heights, a neighborhood with very high Nepali/Himalayan population. He told me he was Muslim, and I was talking to him about how my mom recently stopped eating non-halal meat at restaurants, and it's been difficult to find halal options for a lot of stuff. I was saying how there were plenty of halal momos (himalayan dumplings) in Jackson Heights but I didn't know of any in Boston and he suggested this place. The restaurant is pretty small with not much street parking in the front, and it's definitely more for takeout. If you dine in, you'll just be given the food in take out containers anyways with no plates. The menu is decently sized ranging from kati rolls (South Asian equivalent of burritos with a paratha as the bread), momos, chaat (a savory appetizer), Hakka (referring to Indo-Chinese not actual Chinese-Hakka) dishes, and typical Indian curries and biriyanis. After a conformation from the person behind the counter that the food is halal, we ordered Buffalo Chilli Momos, a Spicy Crispy Chicken Kati Roll, and vegetable Hakka noodles. The Kati roll was pretty small but packed full of flavor. The crispy chicken had softened from being wrapped up with a spicy wet masala vegetable curry but all the flavors worked together really well. Probably the best kati roll I've had in the Boston area. If you were to go and just get a kati roll, I'd suggest you get 2 if you hungry. The vegetable Hakka noodles were pretty uneventful. Some medium thickness noodles on the al-dente side. I wish they cooked these for like a couple minutes longer. But it didn't taste bad, and it'll fill you up. The buffalo momos covered in chilli were 10/10. They come with 8 momos stuffed with spiced buffalo meat and covered in a tomato and onion sauce. If you've never had buffalo meat and are hesitant to try it, it tastes nearly identical to beef. If somebody gave it to you and didn't tell you it wasn't beef, you wouldn't be able to tell. The chilli sauce isn't too spicy but has a little kick and the momos look beautiful covered in it. The downside is that it took forever for this dish to come out, at least 25-30 minutes. But you could tell it was freshly made, and was definitely worth the wait. Velvety and a little sweet, it was perfect. The samosa was pretty good too. Kati roll with spicy crispy chicken: my partner enjoyed his kati roll and it was pretty spicy. The chicken looked like it was fried, but was in no way crispy. Buffalo (bison) chilli momo: Nepali dumplings that were steamed and drenched in chilli sauce. It wasn't spicy and had good flavor. The sauce was slightly sweet. My partner really liked it, I think I'm just not a fan of momos. I would try the fried momos though. It looks like they make dishes to order, so it's not cafeteria style where everything is pre-made. Chai tea is complimentary (find it by the window). It's a nice touch. This is my favorite place for Indian take out. Sometimes I get delivery, sometimes I go pick it up. It is very reasonably priced and very tasty. The portions are enough for me to have 2 meals! I get the Paneer Tikka Masala, and it is creamy and rich. Sooo good. I also love how if I order two entrees, they pack everyone their own rice container so no one takes too much at once from a single container (looking at you dear husband). I would eat here every day! Love their chicken chili momos! So rich in flavor - nice and spicy. Also the Chicken Curry Kati Roll was the yummiest comfort food I've had in so long. Another plus about this place is that I had ordered the food online, parked in front, the food was done in 10 and the guy working there offered to bring the food to my car when I called to ask when it would be ready since I was parked in front. Plenty of food for 1 or even 2 meals. Yum! Chicken Tikka masala is creamy, savory, flavorful and the chicken is not dry. The Chana saag is tender and flavorful. Normally I loath whole chick peas but it's so tender and soaks up all the flavors you can hardly tell you are eating chick peas. I prefer my naan baked. I ordered a Lamb Korma for $12.99. Handed the gentleman $14. No change. Not a big deal. Its 20 cents maybe he overlooked it. I ordered mango lassi for $2.50. Handed the gentleman $3. Once again, no change. I ask the gentleman "isn't it $2.50? Wheres the change?". "Yea, but tax you know." Ok so with tax it would have been $2.65. Feels a bit grimy that they are rounding up on every transaction and not even giving people change anymore. "Because tax you know." No, thats stealing. Unless you're donating it to a charity to save homeless kittens. But they're probably not. Anyway, Im eating with a friend and he mentions to the gracious gentleman who refuses to give change, that his appetizer never came, that we are finished eating, preparing to leave, and would like to be refunded for the missing appetizer. He suddenly rushes into the backroom, scrambles for a few moments, comes out and says that the food is ready. We say it's alright, the food did not come on time and we would like to be refunded. This results in a 10 minute stand off where the man continuously and relentlessly persists that we take the food to go, because its already made. Completely missing the point that it was an appetizer and was not ready until we were preparing to leave. He ends up angrily giving us the money back. We leave. Yes! This place is amazing. Indian street food for a reasonable price. The Kati rolls are $6 and are delicious! Both the chicken chilli and lamb curry were well worth it.
