The buffet was ready at 11:30 as advertised. The food was average.... What you would expect at a buffet: Tandori chicken, goat meat, Dahl, lentils with cheese. They had naan on my table when I returned from the buffet so that was a plus but I am not sure it was freshly made since it was cold. There was nothing special about this buffet. What you see is what you get. The dining area has a window into the kitchen so if I wanted to, I could have seen what was going on in the kitchen. The outer windows open for nice days. The temperature started to heat up so they closed the windows. The parking is metered on the street. It was ok if I were in a pinch I would return.

Every single time. It's consistent, happy people, delicious food, quick service. Nothing on the menu is bad. I've tried almost everything. It's a lively atmosphere ok for a fun date or to bring kids. Chicken korma, chicken patak, tandoori chicken, garlic naan.... All very good. Mild, medium, hot, or extra spicy options for most dishes. The rice... even the rice makes me happy. Come here, you'll be happy too.

Solid spot for Indian food! I went for the lunch buffet and everything was really good. It was pretty full but didn't have to wait on a Sunday afternoon. My favorites were the dal makhani and the chicken tandoori. FYI- you can't order off the menu at lunch time, it's just the buffet, but they had a good selection. Would go again!

Delicious indian food! I have been to Masala and ordered takeout several times over the years and food and service has remained consistently good. Most recently tried the okra, palak paneer, garlic naan and samosas and everything was delish. They have limited street parking. Have been able to get tables without reservations.

1127 Broadway is in two places, the map shows NY, but the pick-up location is correct. Freaked me out!!

Food was great. One issue is that on the website's online ordering page, once you complete the order and get the confirmation number, there's a bit of a panic because the map shows the address in the wrong place. They need to find out how to fix this because I panicked I bought food 4 hours away.

Coconut naan was lovely, but I've had better chicken tikka masala. Spicy level could be higher!

The price is right for this lunch buffet! The food was as expected for a buffet, but they offered a nice variety of dishes and the garlic naan was delicious!

Best Indian buffet I've had in the U.S...so far. Affordable pricing too. One request however - could you please add some veg momos alongside the chicken momos. Indian cuisine is incomplete without vegetarian options on the menu, as is convention.

I've been on a hunt for the best Indian food in the Boston area since I've lived here, and while there are some other gems in the city, Masala is my absolute favorite. Their food is very consistent and delicious. The quality of the meat is excellent, and every dish we've tried has been great. Some favorites are their korma, palak, and the lamb samosas. The prices are very fair for the area (especially including their amazing drink deals) and the staff is very kind and helpful. Regardless of whether you're dining in or getting takeout or delivery it's quite fast and fresh. I would recommend dine in if you have the time though - nothing beats steamy curries and naan fresh from the oven. Masala is the most consistent Indian restaurant across the board in the greater Boston area if you factor in price, quality, portions, dish options, drinks, service, and location. Definitely check them out if you're in the area! Edit: I have since tried the Nepalese Thali... I'm in love.

That being said, the place was packed after 7 so consider what time you're coming when trying to walk in without a reservation. The entrance is up the stairs and as soon as you walk through the door, you're greeted with a great view of Winthrop Park and the surrounding area. We were promptly seated and the lively wait staff came and took our drink order shortly thereafter. We started with the complimentary papadum and chutneys and our appetizer order of hara bhara kebab which was a nice vegetarian fritter. For our entrees, we got the baingan bhartan, chicken tikka masala (dairy free one), yellow daal tadka, tandoori roti, onion kulcha, and paneera bharura. The breads were all fantastic and I enjoyed the chicken tikka masala (dairy free made with coconut milk) just to see how it was different from a standard chicken tikka masala. For dessert, we got the gajar halwa (which was awesome!) and kulfi. Overall, I'm glad to have finally tried this place and may revisit it again in the future. Worth considering if you're in the area.

Our server was incredibly attentive and would always make sure to follow up and that everything is good. There was a plate that we had that had a stain on it. Our server noticed immediately and swapped out the plate without us having to tell him. He refilled our waters as soon as he saw that our glasses were empty. Compared to the first time that I was here, I think the service remains excellent and unchanged. The quality of the food was amazing. Overall, the dishes were delicious. I enjoy the blend of spices and flavors that you could taste within the food. In terms of food quality, this is easily becoming my favorite Indian restaurant in Boston. I appreciate the restaurant location and internal setup. The restaurant is nestled near Harvard Square on the second floor with a nice view to the local neighborhood around Cambridge. There were many tables by the window so customers could enjoy the ambience. Overall, would recommend. If I find myself returning to Boston, I will definitely make time to stop by again.

It took a bit longer for the matar paneer to come out, not that we particularly noticed because we were still eating all of our other food. They did give us two mango lassis on the house, which was so kind! I will be back!!!

Indian is one of my favorites and this was a fairly short drive from our hotel in Waltham. We made a reservation but that did not seem to be at all necessary. It was a Monday night and it was not particularly busy. We were seated right away. They featured a very pleasant dining room and we were able to secure a table by the front window. This was a great spot and added to our experience. The service was very good. We were attended to quickly and well cared for throughout our time there. The food came out in a timely manner well presented at the appropriate temperature. My colleague opted for the Creamy Coconut Chicken. I tried a bite of this and was favorably impressed. In addition, he had a Mango Lassi to which he also gave a thumbs-up. I had the Fish Curry, which I ordered at a medium level in terms of spice. It was very tasty as it had just the right amount of kick. He ordered the Garlic Naan to accompany his meal while I had my favorite type of Indian bread (my favorite type of bread period, really) Peshwari Naan. We were both happy with these choices. I also had a glass of cabernet which turned out to be a decent choice. Our final bill that included food, drinks, tax and tip was $86. At $43 per person in this inflationary time, I was happy enough with the value given the quality of the fare and the overall experience. I would be happy to make a return visit.

We walked into a warm, inviting space where the attentive service set a good tone from the start, making the experience feel welcoming without being overbearing. The butter chicken is the dish to anchor an order around, and it delivered in the way a good butter chicken should. Rich and creamy with a sauce that has enough depth to feel like it was built properly rather than assembled quickly, the flavor was full and warming without leaning too sweet. It paired naturally with the garlic naan, which arrived soft and slightly charred, making it the right vehicle for working through the sauce. The mango lassi is worth ordering alongside, sweet and thick without being cloying, with the mango flavor coming through clearly rather than getting lost in the yogurt base. Beyond those, the biryani and the Kerala fish curry have both built strong followings among regulars, and the samosa chaat and paneer chilli are worth exploring as starters if you want to build out a fuller meal. The food does not always hit the transcendent high that the best Indian cooking can reach, but it is consistently well executed and satisfying in a way that makes it a reliable choice in a city where good Indian food can be surprisingly hard to find. Service remained attentive throughout the meal, with staff checking in at the right moments and keeping water filled without being intrusive. For a dependable Indian meal in downtown Boston, Sarva Indian Cuisine delivers exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot.
