    Mango lassi

Madras Dosa has delicious food and kind and helpful staff. The mango lassi was bomb.com. The problem? The dosa is really unreasonably expensive. You add $2 or $3 for every filling. That's nuts. Like onions don't cost that much. I would go back and would order just the chaat and skip the dosa until pricing is revisited.

it was very spicy i should have known very yummy though. somehow it was especially good after I refridgersted it for a late night snack and ate it cold lol

Super yummy and filling dosa spot in Boston! Quick service, mainly takeout option with great sauces. Service is super fast and perfect for a solid lunch in Seaport. Not much sit in options/space. Wish i got the pani puri too.

My friend showed me the place and wow the dosa is so delicious!!! They were really packed when I came which makes sense because the food is great. Inside is a little too small with space but overall a great place to grab a bite with some friends. I liked all the different sauces you get with the dosa as well. Service was good. Would definitely come back in the future. I also like how you can watch how they make the dosa as well. Keeps you entertained while you wait for your order.

Kheema Pao, Idly (Dip It, Dunk It, Eat It) with sambar

Consistently tasty and more importantly very authentic south Indian food! I have a high bar for idlis and these are some of the best. Soft fluffy and quite a good size too. The coconut chutney was also very fresh and yummy! The only gripe I have is with the spiciness of the sambar. While the sambar itself was very tasty it was just too spicy. I really wish they had options to select mild, medium or spicy when ordering. My suggestion to the restaurant - either make the sambar less spicy or offer the option to have it on the mild side - please :). Ordered through GrubHub and it took a while but the driver apologized profusely for the delay. Some of the food was lukewarm or cold as a result but still tasty. Have ordered from here multiple times now and have enjoyed all the food. Overall great experience!

Second hair. Didn't take picture of the first.

Went to this place for lunch and order 2 dosas and one aloo tikki chat. And found a hair in the sambar (that came with one of the dosas) as soon as I opened it. Showed it to the cashier and she seemed apologetic and offered a replacement. That's when I noticed that the guy at the dosa making station and a guy in the back weren't wearing any protective hair cap. I took the replacement sambar thinking this was a one off mistake. But around half way through the chat I noticed another hair. I showed this to staff as well. And again noticed the guys weren't wearing any protective hair cap. The most disappointing thing is that the staff were super casual about this. Two hair in one order is a very bad look for this restaurant. Needless to say I'm never going back here.

Tasty and busy place with everything you would dream of for your dosa- you name it, they have it! they make it in front of you. There are also other things on the menu to try too! Will come back!

    Paani Puri

Food here was delightful! My first time trying dosa and paani puri was so exciting, glad I came with a friend who taught me how to eat paani puri otherwise I would have eaten it all wrong. Paani puri has a crispy outer shell and it's filled with potato, onions, and crispies (not exactly sure what they're made of). You pour some of the liquid into the shells, and place the whole ball into your mouth. The whole bite with the mint water was so refreshing and an explosion of flavors! I came back a couple days later to enjoy paani puri again :) highly recommend!

    Madras Dosa

Madras Dosa made my night. I wasn't even that hungry, but they still found a way to make someone not hungry happier than they have ever been. Dosa is something all humans need to experience, and this kind of place is a perfect representation of how it should be made. My life has been forever changed and implemented by Madras Dosa, and I consider all other fellow Bostonians to taste it.

YES YES AND YES!!!!…read more If you're looking for a place that serves absolutely delicious Indian food, LOOK HERE!! I am soooo happy to finally have found an Indian restaurant where every single dish I ordered was TOOOO GOOD!!! From the delicious dosa, to its sambar, to the absolutely perfect chicken tikka masala, and the unforgettable Chana masala, wow wow wow!!! Don't forget to get some filter coffee, because it's exactly how it tastes back in India--YUM! Staff is kind and seem to be very helpful with any inquiries you may have. There is a lot of high-tops chairs, but I'm sure you're likely to find a table here to sit--and trust you'll want to because the food is THAT good!

All I can say is their rice dish is full of spice (and actually spicy, in a very good way), which makes you want to just cram more food as you eat. You can taste their chicken and rice are very well-seasoned with a great balance between the spices (maybe the spicy part is a bit too strong). A minor negative for me is just the amount of "protein" that comes along with the dish--I wished they'd give a bit more. Service/wait-time/cleanliness (1.5/2): Difficult seating arrangement but service was otherwise very friendly, though not particularly fast. The wait-time was decent, the longest being trying to get a seat rather than the food itself. Cleanliness is so-so. Price (0.5/1): Their pricing I think is fair, for the quality and portion of food that they provide.

The space is clean, stylish, and thoughtfully decorated, blending a chic Indian vibe with subtle Italian-inspired décor. It's a lovely setting, especially for date night or a more upscale dinner. That said, the food itself was... fine, but not standout. We spent about $60 on one appetizer, one shared entrée, and two pieces of naan, which feels a bit steep for what we got. I also left hungry. Highlights: The dahi puri was the star of the meal -- super refreshing, flavorful, and a perfect bite between richer dishes. The naan was well-seasoned, crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and genuinely delicious. The butter chicken had a nice kick of spice but was otherwise surprisingly bland and lacked depth of flavor. If you've had a lot of Indian food (especially in the Cambridge area), this may fall a bit short. There are several nearby spots that offer more memorable flavors. If you're staying in or near Boston proper, Shanti in Dorchester and Sher-a-Punjab in Quincy are both stronger options. That said, Saanjh is very convenient for its location, which gives it an edge. Service: Service was quick, efficient, and genuinely warm. We had the pleasure of speaking with Saj (?) who was an absolute highlight of the experience. He was friendly, engaging, and went above and beyond -- even staying about 15 minutes past his break just to chat with us. He clearly cares about the guest experience and deserves serious recognition (and probably a raise!). Overall: Come here for the ambiance, service, and convenience. If exceptional Indian food is your top priority, there are better options nearby. Still, a pleasant experience overall, especially thanks to the great service.

Ambience-wise, it indeed was very fancy and upscale, with beautiful vivid blue plush chairs and florals and crystal light fixtures hanging from the ceilings. (There was a giant screen with bollywood trailers blasting which was a little jarring but the rest of the restaurant was beautiful.) Food-wise, it was average, not incredible, but service was painfully slow, which was the biggest problem. We also missed bowls of rice that were specifically ordered to come along with our dishes. We had to ask repeatedly, and still did not get all of the rice to come out. My in-laws also asked for chai repeatedly but did not end up getting it served despite asking 3-4 times. I got the malai kofta -- would skip this one; small tiny dumplings, sauce OK. The veggie and chicken rice palou dishes were nicely seasoned and came with raita. My favorite here was the saag paneer which had a nuttier creamy texture (it actually wasn't even on the menu but the kitchen was able to offer it upon request). We also did like the aloo tikki chaat (potato appetizer) which was served warm with nice chutney. Samosas were ok (price on the menu is for a set of 2).
