    Chicken Curry Meal
    Jeff M.

Terrible. RIP off. Rude. I don't know what happened to this place recently but it's not the establishment I used to love and go to weekly. $12.99 for 3 pieces of chicken is simply outrageous. You gotta trust me , I never return food anywhere. But this was so outrageous I had to return my lunch. When doing so staff claimed there was 5 pieces and then tried to refuse giving me a printed refund receipt. And they just left the plate on the counter. I bet the try to resell See the pics and judge for yourself.

    Chicken Tikka Masala Meal

Feels like a food court place. Not much for customer service. They want you to do everything on your phone. Menu, ordering, to go needs etc. Chicken Tikka Masala Meal--if you look at the picture, it looks like the rice is in the main entree section, taking up the most space. A smaller portion of Tikka Masala then I'd hope for. The "salad" was a few cuts of lettuce from a bag, like a pinch, and a single onion piece. Nothing else. No dressing, no veggies. Just bagged lettuce salad pieces. Not worth the twenty minute wait at the empty restaurant. Trader Joe's frozen tikka is muuuuuch better. This meal was on par with frozen tikka you can get at stop & shop maybe...

    Plain Naan

I had heard a lot of great things about Chutneys and decided to order takeout using Yelp delivery. I ordered samosa chaat, chicken tikka masala with plain naan and chicken 65. The plain naan add on was $1.99 and a disappointment as you can see it's a small regular naan. The chicken tikka masala meal does not come with a desert (read the fine text!). I asked for extra spicy and the restaurant delivered. Taking one star off because the chaat was more a Chana masala with sev instead of real chaat. It also came hot off the stove. It tasted good, it just wasn't a samosa chaat. It also lacked yogurt and chutneys.

We ordered samosas from Chutney's as a snack today, and it was delicious! The inside was seasoned perfectly and not too salty and the outside had a nice crisp on the outside. I was also really happy that it was vegan! I didn't care too much for the mint sauce, but the best part was definitely the tamarind sauce. It was so delicious, and the sweetness balanced the savory flavor of the samosa really well. Definitely will be returning for the samosas!

Food: Haven't been to THIS location, but having gone to Northeastern, the Chutney's location there was DELICIOUS. Every food item that I've tried from there was amazing - dumplings, pizza, rice dishes, all incredible, no complaints at all. It is hearty, filling, warm food, good for all occasions but it is heavy. However it's worth it - portions are sufficient for what you pay for. I'd definitely come back to the Harvard Square location as I was so so sad when the Chutney's near Northeastern's campus closed... literally one of my favorite hidden gems. Location: LOVE Harvard Square - on a nice day, I'd recommend getting some Chutney's and eating it outdoors. So many good restaurants, such a cute area and def lots of outdoor seating. I love Harvard Sq in the Fall/Summer as well, there are usually fairy lights up which makes it so cute.

    Samosa chat

For a fast food joint, the food they provide is not bad. Prices are reasonable with good food portions. However they can improve on the taste and quality. Chutneys paneer wrap- the wrap is huge and the staff are generous with the fillings, you can select what goes into the wrap-rice, veggies and sauce. Samosa chat- it was very disappointing. It tasted like frozen samosas were reheated. The plate was hot, but the content inside was close to warm. And it's the first time I have seen Rajma beans added to the chat, which is very strange. Vegetable Momo platter-this was the only dish which we really liked. It was fresh, hot and spicy. Masala chai - decent taste, but the staff took initiative to warm and make it extra hot. We appreciate it! Overall, pretty decent food. But the staff are courteous. We are happy with the service they provided!

Came here to grab a quick bite as I had a craving for Indo Chinese. I have had food from here and it is maybe a 2.5/5. But when I arrived yestersay 01-20-2022 at around 9:45pm the dude there saw us and switched off the lights. Then he came out and was repeatedly kept saying : WE ARE CLOSED in a rude tone. When I told him that please update your business hours as it says you are open till 10pm he just responded again in a rude tone that WE ARE CLOSED AND THE TIMING IN WRONG ON THE WEBSITE Here are screenshots of business hours I looked up before going there and it clearly states that it was updated 3 days ago by the store.

Chutneys in Cambridge gives the best and closest feel when it comes to Indian chinese food. They have been maintaining the quality of their products since years to follow. I've been ordering and dining in with them for almost 2 years now and never has it been a case when the food was disappointing. Great staff, excellent delivery preparation and delivery time.

    $1.50 samosa
    Justina T.

I arrive here at 11:40am and order a samosa. Guy cashier is not pleased with my $1.50+tax purchase but whatever (I paid with cash, so what's there to be annoyed about?). He says I'll have to wait 5-6 minutes for the samosa to be done/made. I wait for 10 minutes. He doesn't call me over or anything, so I get up to inquire about my food. The guy says nothing but opens the oven and retrieves the samosa for me. He boxes it with the sauce and hands it over with a half-hearted, "Thanks... (for nothing)" The service is subpar. The samosa is very small. The taste is decent, though. Good blend of spices and seasoning. Slightly crispy exterior with a warm potato filling.

Phenomenal! The previous reviews were not great so I was a bit hesitant, but perhaps they are older. I went to the Harvard sq location this november and it was great. Delicious and fair priced. The garlic naan was excellent.

That being said, the place was packed after 7 so consider what time you're coming when trying to walk in without a reservation. The entrance is up the stairs and as soon as you walk through the door, you're greeted with a great view of Winthrop Park and the surrounding area. We were promptly seated and the lively wait staff came and took our drink order shortly thereafter. We started with the complimentary papadum and chutneys and our appetizer order of hara bhara kebab which was a nice vegetarian fritter. For our entrees, we got the baingan bhartan, chicken tikka masala (dairy free one), yellow daal tadka, tandoori roti, onion kulcha, and paneera bharura. The breads were all fantastic and I enjoyed the chicken tikka masala (dairy free made with coconut milk) just to see how it was different from a standard chicken tikka masala. For dessert, we got the gajar halwa (which was awesome!) and kulfi. Overall, I'm glad to have finally tried this place and may revisit it again in the future. Compared to the first time that I was here, I think the service remains excellent and unchanged. The quality of the food was amazing. Overall, the dishes were delicious. I enjoy the blend of spices and flavors that you could taste within the food. In terms of food quality, this is easily becoming my favorite Indian restaurant in Boston. I appreciate the restaurant location and internal setup. The restaurant is nestled near Harvard Square on the second floor with a nice view to the local neighborhood around Cambridge. There were many tables by the window so customers could enjoy the ambience. Overall, would recommend. If I find myself returning to Boston, I will definitely make time to stop by again.

This was a great spot and added to our experience. The service was very good. We were attended to quickly and well cared for throughout our time there. The food came out in a timely manner well presented at the appropriate temperature. My colleague opted for the Creamy Coconut Chicken. I tried a bite of this and was favorably impressed. In addition, he had a Mango Lassi to which he also gave a thumbs-up. I had the Fish Curry, which I ordered at a medium level in terms of spice. It was very tasty as it had just the right amount of kick. He ordered the Garlic Naan to accompany his meal while I had my favorite type of Indian bread (my favorite type of bread period, really) Peshwari Naan. We were both happy with these choices. I also had a glass of cabernet which turned out to be a decent choice. Our final bill that included food, drinks, tax and tip was $86. At $43 per person in this inflationary time, I was happy enough with the value given the quality of the fare and the overall experience. I would be happy to make a return visit.

We walked into a warm, inviting space where the attentive service set a good tone from the start, making the experience feel welcoming without being overbearing. The butter chicken is the dish to anchor an order around, and it delivered in the way a good butter chicken should. Rich and creamy with a sauce that has enough depth to feel like it was built properly rather than assembled quickly, the flavor was full and warming without leaning too sweet. It paired naturally with the garlic naan, which arrived soft and slightly charred, making it the right vehicle for working through the sauce. The mango lassi is worth ordering alongside, sweet and thick without being cloying, with the mango flavor coming through clearly rather than getting lost in the yogurt base. Beyond those, the biryani and the Kerala fish curry have both built strong followings among regulars, and the samosa chaat and paneer chilli are worth exploring as starters if you want to build out a fuller meal. The food does not always hit the transcendent high that the best Indian cooking can reach, but it is consistently well executed and satisfying in a way that makes it a reliable choice in a city where good Indian food can be surprisingly hard to find. Service remained attentive throughout the meal, with staff checking in at the right moments and keeping water filled without being intrusive. For a dependable Indian meal in downtown Boston, Sarva Indian Cuisine delivers exactly what you want from a neighborhood spot.
