Update from my 2018 review... The 5 of us ordered 4 items from the Special Set Menu at $88.95 which includes rice & a choice of soup (corn or hot & sour). The soup arrived quickly. A bit on the salty side. Lots of added corn & some bits of chicken or pork. The dishes came several minutes later after we finished the soup but all arrived quickly after the first one was set down. All really tasty but beef brisket was salty & instead of lettuce it was napa cabbage, which is better & healthier. Plenty of food & even had a bit left over to take home. Arrived at 6:20 (30 mins) so I wouldn't have to wait, paid then was told not ready, take a seat..after waiting, I approached only server working, named Jamie told her it had been 40 mins! Stopped by for a quick dinner before BIL's flight to Asia. Service was quick and efficient, food was tasty and hot. Quantity was reasonable. I liked the corn and diced chicken soup before the meal. On a positive note, the dishes came out of the kitchen piping hot and together - not like other places that deliver each plate 10-15 apart. Was contemplating to get 4 dishes but I'm glad I didn't because I ordered 3 dishes that was good for a hefty 4-5 adults' meal. Waited for ard 3 mins in the front there was no one there but I could hear the wok going on. Was greeted by a friendly couple who was nice enough to offer 10% off pick-up orders. Highly impressed with the quality of the food, you could tell that the generous portions were made with fresh ingredients, for many Chinese restaurants their meat smelled and their veggies soggy. I also appreciate the fact they were using the aluminum containers for hot food than styrofoam and biodegradable plastic bag. The taste of the food, on the other hand, was less exciting than you'd expect from a restaurant. The honey ribs were good, but the tofu dish was undersalted and the black pepper chicken was meh. I felt more like eating a healthy, home cooked food which isn't a bad thing for future reference. read more

Honestly one of my favourite Chinese restaurants. They have a great lunch special until 4:30pm daily with a variety of dishes on the menu that includes a pop or soup. LOVE their beef and broccoli. It's super saucy and the it's equal portion beef and broccoli which is apparently hard to find these days? It's your typical diner-style Chinese resto, average decor, had heard that they were famous for their beef brisket cooked w/ lettuce in a clay pot, and it sure was very tasty the 1st time, but 2nd time, just tasty, so a bit inconsistent. It's your typical Chinese greasy spoon diner. With old fashioned eats like Won Ton noodle soup and Congee with Chinese donuts, you can't go wrong right? Unfortunately, with those classics comes a "healthy" dosage of oil and MSG. At least the price is VERY appealing though. read more

Let me quantify my rating. The food is a 5 and the customer service is 1 which averages to 3. Let me start with the good.. the food was delish... portions were ample... what ruined the food was the terrible customer service of the owner? not friendly at all. I know these restaurants have that reputation but as a customer I would like some sort of friendliness or politeness as after all without customers business will not make a profit. I used to go to a great Chinese restaurant on Fraser Street called Vong's. Tony Vong was legend. Sadly Vong's was closed due to huge rent increases by a selfish landlord. Bastard! What does this have to do with Wo's you ask? Well.....Wo's makes, hands down, the best chicken chow mein in the city. Hands down. That was a distinction that used to be exclusive to Vong's, but in their absence, Wo's performs admirably. Their sesame chicken, ginger beef, garlic broccoli, and curried won-tons are worth getting into a knife fight over. Seriously. It's that good. I always pick up and ALWAYS get the 10% off. In fact, the waitress who has been there for years, always always says "that's a pickup, so 10% off". The décor is totally minimal, as in they did nothing with the space. but the washroom is interesting as it has a three level entrance. Wo's is the epitome of a great Chinese restaurant. read more

For ~$10.00, you get two full size containers - one with a meat dish (e.g. Sweet and sour chicken, ginger beef, etc), one with a rice/noodle dish (I recommend their BBQ pork over their Chow Mein). We add another dish or two. Delivery is usually between 30-45 minutes. Like all Chinese restaurants, their customer service is nothing to mention, but their drivers are friendly. read more

I am on a quest for the best house chow mien. House chow mien should be the signature chow mien dish of said restaurant. The On-On was a 5. The Wok Inn in Kelowna being a 4.5. Octopus is the broccoli of seafood and Wo's has tons (that's not a good thing) and no broccoli at all. The mini Bok choi still had the stumps attached. The solitary shrimp was good and the noodles were slightly above mediocre. read more
