I usually don't shop at World Market, but the more I come here, the more I fall in love with this place. They have so much to look at! I spotted some cute pineapple lanterns, beautifully decorated tagines, and this super cool mini yakitori set. I was all set to buy the yakitori set, but I read some reviews saying it falls apart after a few uses. Still, if you use it once or twice, $30 might be worth it for the fun factor! They also have a wonderful selection of food and snacks. Visiting here really is an experience in itsel! There's always something new and interesting to discover. read more

This store is amazing. They have so many cute or unique things. We always come here for home decors and seasonal items. I like their jewelry and wine collection as well. I came in yesterday with my kids. Bought maybe 8 or 9 items, including a bathrobe on clearance for 14.99. The rep charged me for all these items, a did not put the bathrobe in the bag. He charged me, and then put the item back on the rack. I got home, noticed the missing item and tried calling them all afternoon. They did not pick up once. I finally reached them this morning. The woman who answered found the item and we matched up the SKU on the receipt. I drove BACK to this store to pick up the item and the two women working were acting irritated with ME for wanting the item that I already paid for! Furthermore, they did not say "whoops sorry that happened" or anything acknowledging this once. I have spent collectively 2-3 hours trying to track down an item that I already paid for and they all treated me like garbage. I worked in retail, I understand mistakes happen. But this is ridiculous. Great store, fun products. But actual management and dealing with customers? Beyond incompetent and rude. Do not recommend. read more

Horrible online service offered by this store. Received an email stating the order was ready. Went to the store and waited in the online checkout area. The male salesperson said I needed to wait in the main checkout line that was ten deep. I waited and when I was served, the cashier said I should go back in the online checkout area. This store fails at online pickup and staff need to be 100% more accountable and prompt in getting online orders processed. Target and Whole Foods dont have these issues. read more

Horrible customer service; I went to pick up furniture the two young ladies helped me out but one of them was extremely rude knock on my door and demanded me to get off and help them load the furniture on my truck. When I asked there's is no men to help out she said not when we need them. When I helped pick up the furniture it was very heavy and my back started hurting instantly. When the item I was looking for was sold out on the floor, she didn't stop there -- she took the extra time to check the back room and was able to locate one for me, which I greatly appreciated. As I continued shopping, I noticed her consistently helping other customers with genuine kindness, patience, and a positive attitude. Terrible customer service. Run, don't walk away from this place!!! Bought some dining chairs for our vacation home (used prob 10 times) and the webbing of the sitting area caved in. Took them back and they said they have. 60 day return policy!!!! No store credit no return .... We left the chairs with them as they are unsafe to sit in. Oh my goodness, Jayden and Wendy were absolutely amazing, wonderful. You never see employees go above and beyond like this these days. I was shopping around for furniture and found the most amazing desk and coffee table. Wendy and Jayden were so kind and happy. And those two ladies carried the table and desk and loaded it into my car! Ive never seen anything like this. Truly went above and beyond. Three stars is for the corporation (Costco) and not this store. We've loved World Market for YEARS...That said, like so many corporations the past few years, prices are now quite inflated which is disappointing. I'veseen identical items at mainstream store for less. We were startled at many prices and certainly nothing felt like a good deal...more like hemming and hawing over items and buying nothing. The store is fun, though I wish they'd give hard pass to selling canned octopus. Regardless, staff is nice, store is clean and fun to look at the variety of items. read more

We went to World Market in La Quinta CA for the first time last week. We were impressed with the selection of quality goods. We decided to purchase new dining and coffee tables. We also picked up some new dishes. We had an issue with the dining table and staff were quick to help remedy the problem. I was invited to tour the World Market store in La Quinta. I was amazed! I had no idea of the quality and variety of items they have! From beautiful furniture and furnishings to imported wines and beer. They have hundreds of colors and sizes of throw pillows. Great place to walk around if you're looking to decorate or need ideas for gifts! The managers and staff are most professional and helpful. Be sure to ask for a tour or ideas for decorating or gift giving! Ok so here it is- ordered a lamp because they only had one for purchase in the store. We bought the one they had in the store and Destiny set up an account online at a discounted price....great right? Turns out the idiot sold us the same lamp we bought at the store. So they canceled our order 2 days after purchasing the same lamp twice- online and in store. They said they were sorry- blah blah blah...the system messed up. Sure thing a system error not an idiot error. So now they said they would hold the next one for me- ok by next Thursday...ok. Here's where it gets super stupid....I called they said they have one in but they are holding it for another priority customer. Whhhaaat? How is this possible? I can't sell it to you- but I have another one coming in on Thursday. Ummm ok- we call again Thursday and speak to both the idiots again. Still can sell it to you it's on hold....we specifically ask....are you sure you aren't holding it for us....no it's for someone else. Ok- so we call back and guess what- today was the last day of the other persons hold. I said are you sure, because I don't want anyone else to have to go through this mess with you guys. She said let me double check. I said, take down my number please and have the store manager call me back when she gets there. Ready for what happens next?....... This idiot takes my number down and says the fkn hold was for me- Unbelievable incompetent idiot! I specifically asked, as I recognized stupidity,...and the response was even beyond any level of comprehensible incompetence. I was in this location last week and somehow managed to buy a used espresso machine. Whoever purchased it before me did not bother cleaning it out- the inside of the box was covered with old espresso grind, water splotches all over the machine and calcium build up in the filter. I called in pretty upset over the grossness of being sold a dirty, used espresso machine and Esther was immediately helpful and asked me to come in to swap out for a new one. Upon arriving, Sean provided the greatest customer service and had me out within 5 minutes. Kudos to management for hiring and training a staff full of smiles and great attitude! read more

I had a recipe for German-style chicken, which called for a bed of spaetzle, which you just can't find anywhere. I was surprised to find it here, along with seasoning packets for sauerbraten and Jäger schnitzel. Yummy! Also some off-the-wall sodas. Lime rickey? I haven't had one of those since I was a kid! Generally speaking, World Market is great. Cool gift items, furniture, wines and foods from around the globe. It is my kind of store. The La Quinta location is the best. Over the phone the woman that helped me was very kind. She looked up an item number and told me there was one floor model left and that it had my name on it! Once I got there, Jackie was incredibly helpful and even wrapped the chair in cellophane to protect it on its way home. The store in Palm Springs wouldn't let me have their floor model, ordered a chair for me and I just waited and waited. read more

All the staff here are always super friendly I've never really had any problems from them and the store is always clean! They tend to keep to themselves and don't ask too many questions when you're going around shopping and they're always quick to answer any questions you may have. One of my all time favorite stores. Still has so many wonderful finds. The other day a found a shower curtain in the sale bin. It was perfect for my guest bath. It had three price stickers on both sides of the bag, $7.99 being the cheapest. The clerk says the sticker is for a different product and she can't sell it for that, mind you the same price is on both sides, she calls over the manager who then haggles with me asking if I will pay $9.99. I say fine, on my way home from jury duty and just want to go eat dinner. The register won't take $9.99. She says it's not supposed to be in inventory and I can't by it for any price. She puts it down and walks away. So I spent 30 minutes buying candy and a water. I will stick to shopping online and avoid the rudeness. UPDATE: General Manager Brooke got in touch with me, she was gracious and understanding. She explained why they couldn't sell the item and said she will train the staff in the future how to handle a situation like this. Thank you Brooke and Cost Plus. read more
