I had a weird time. I found your shop very eclectic and interesting. At first I was greeted with a smile by Mary, who was kind of sloppily dressed, but nice. I found a couple things I would come back for, but had just shopped and spent a lot so I was only looking. As I was leaving, I complimented Mary for greeting me warmly. I expected her to say "thank you" and then I would leave. But she started chatting which lead to her telling me about her art and jewelry. And I also asked if the owner was hiring. I must say it went downhill from there. I suspect Mary was just protecting her job which is obviously very important to her. I will be back another day! read more

I visited the store 4-29-26 @ approximately 11:15 am, looking for the Arrata brand. After calling out several times with no response, a woman eventually came from the back wearing what looked like an ugly costume-style hat. Her demeanor was unfriendly from the start no greeting, no smile, and she looked me over with a slight frown. When I asked about the Arrata brand, she told me they no longer carry it, then directed me to the back area and said the items there were 50% off and that I could check the rack in case something was there. After spending about ten minutes searching, I found an item. At that point she changed her story and said the price on the tag was not 50% off and that it was full price. This was completely different from what she originally told me. My family and I have shopped here before, so this experience was disappointing and unprofessional. I came specifically to purchase a Mother's Day gift, and the lack of courtesy, clarity, and consistency made the visit unnecessarily frustrating. She blew it Lulu, we will never come back and we will pass the word along. Be nice to everyone afterall we keep the rent paid. read more

I've been back to this little boutique on Main Street LaQuinta several times, and have told lots of my friends about it too. if you are to rate the food....I would rate it a 5. If you are to rate the service you need to get Kiraw (I think I spelt it right, or it's Keraw). She was friendly, prompt, energetic and attentive. She just looked like she was having fun actually serving us. Management you need to groom this young lady into management to train others. Made the whole dining experience more enjoyable So even though the kitchen got it wrong she made it all right. Well done. read more

My family and I visited the area during a recent art festival in downtown La Quinta. I was looking forward to supporting a local business on Small Business Saturday. I was extremely disappointed by the lack of customer service. I was in the store for well over a minute looking at different things from end of the small store to the other. More than enough time to receive a greeting from one of the five women working. Not even a hello. I have over 20 years in luxury retail and customer service. I can understand many things when it comes to holiday shopping. Not acknowledging a potential patron is inexcusable. Small store with an amazing range of unique gifts: from knick knacks, clothes, handbags, paintings, even furniture! What's different about this store is that the items are unique and quaint but still very functional. Prices were not outrageous either. I think the style of the items resonated with me and I could see many of the items being in my home, and I would be comfortable carrying many of their handbags. Service with a smile. So sad to see that LuLu has changed her focus to clothing from decor & accessories. This was my go to store for gifts, decor for my home & browsing. I talked it up to my friends & brought visiting company to the store as part of showing off Old Town La Quinta. Owner has a history of bending over backwards to ensure I am satisfied with my shopping experience. The clothing she stocks is nice, tho expensive. Several stores on the same block sell similar clothing options so the uniqueness of LuLu's, for me, is gone. read more

This place has lots of really cute things. I found some nice things for my house and for gifts that I took with me to Texas for the holidays. Everybody liked them, especially the porcelain. In fact, my niece now wants to start a porcelain collection, so I guess I'll be going back to Lulu's again! read more
