Love this store, im always working on crafts so this is my to-go place but on Saturday i went in and saw a piece if furniture i was interested in, all furniture on that isle was 50% off but this piece had a couple stains on it. I went to the front to ask about it, then was redirected to a (i believe) manager named Amber. I followed her to the isle and she saw the stains and tried to clean it by hitting it, stains did not come off so i asked her if i could order a new one and she said "no because it was on clearance", so i asked if she could call the rancho store and find out if they had one and she said no but she could give me the item number so "I" could call and ask myself. I know i can do that but i figured her being a manager could help me a little bit more or at least not be so quick to say no. Her excuse was she didn't have a phone on her, that's understandable but im sure she could of done something about it since it seemed like a very slow evening with hardly any customers and all i saw her do was walk around and touch items on shelves as if she was straighten them up. I just got back from going to Hobby Lobby in La Quinta on a Tuesday at around 1:00. The aisles were full of boxes so I had to move numerous boxes out of the way in order to even get the product that I wanted to buy . I asked two different Associates where the stamp pads were and both of them gave me different locations neither were correct . The last person finally gave me the right location and again I had to step over and move boxes so that I could even get to the product . I'm in my seventies so this sometimes is a problem for me . What irks me more is that there were several Associates walking back and forth next to the aisle just yacking away never seen that I needed help. Yes they may have product that I need but sometimes I think I would rather go somewhere else or order online . read more

I frequently visit this hobby lobby. The employees are always so helpful and are willing to direct you to a certain item that may be you were unable to locate. I especially have to recommend there fabric dept. The help is so helpful, especially the employee with the blue eyes. I think her name is Jessie. Her help and willingness to assist the customers is a great example of customer service...which is hard to find now a days. Keep up the great work. I'm giving one star due to the nice lady at the counter and cool dude who helped my find something otherwise the managers here profiled me thinking I was going to steal from the store. I live across the street in Lake La Quinta and stopped in to buy some red acrylic paint and frog tape. From the moment I walked in the male manager, (not sure if his name was Diego on his name tag) was gave me a dirty look as if he did not like me. Even as I walked by I could see him eyeing me as if I do not belong here. I have shopped here before no problem so I don't know his problem. As I was at the acrylic paint isle I hear over the loud speaker, "security to the front". Which I think, wow I've never heard that ever in a store, are they profiling me thinking I'm going to steal? Again I live across the street on the lake on Adam's and 111. I'm not a degenerate. As I check out I can see a woman manager eyeing me while checking out looking like an enforcer right before the doors to exit. So I'm thinking okay that's odd, definitely feel like that's for me. They weren't there when I walked in. Anywhoo, checked out my order with my receipt and began to walk out. Walked past the first woman manager and said goodbye. Then as I walk out the second slider doors who is waiting for me outside? The older manager (Diego) acting like he was on his phone. Looked at me and put down his phone with no goodbye and walked inside the store. Totally feel profiled and judged by him and will not be shopping at Hobby Lobby ever again. My blood is boiling right now and I hope you can do something to change the way customers are treated. Directly or not. This store is like the size of a football field. And what a fun place to shop They carry EVERYTHING! From huge fake flowers to Christmas ornaments to wall hangings to glitter etc. . Anyone who is crafty would find tons of ideas. And teaches would live the huge variety of stamps and all the great colors of stamp pads. I wish I had this store nearby when I was teaching. Also, the aisles are not well marked for content and you spent extra time searching. Michael's was smaller but easier to shop. Biggest issue; they make handicapped shoppers who park in left side handicapped spaces walk around to the opposite entrance because the nearest entrance is closed and used for an exit only. read more

I didn't understand what was happening, not once did any one asked me if I needed help just kept getting dirty looks the whole time I was there from employees. We were waiting in line to check out yesteday, there were two lanes open. The cashier in the other lane called to a fellow employee because she needed help with a price check for a plastic storage box. ( Her name was Selena, I think...she was wearing a red lanyard that said 'service manager' on it) This manager respond with a "what?" so the checker had to ask her again. The manager walked over with a scowl on her face, probably because she had been interrupted looking at her apple watch. She didn't greet the customer she was helping at all, not even eye contact. She started banging on the case making a loud noise with her fingernails. She was counting out the compartments which I guess would determine the price. Our cashier greeted us and asked us if we found everything okay, which we had. I paid and left disgusted with management in that store as usual. This woman should not be in the customer service industry, I have run across a few in that store who act the same way. Mostly it's talking to each other and blocking isles. They give you the stare down like you need to get out of their way. The cashiers look stressed all of the time, I don't blame them having to work for managers like that. This is for their store in Rancho Mirage, CA. It isn't listed here, however. I give this store excellent marks for cleaniness, HOWEVER...I will NEVER step foot in there again. Twice now I have been overcharged. The first time was during the Christmas season and a seasonal clerk did NOT ring up my items that were on sale, which was everything except for 2 items. I had to go back into the store and wait in their SINGLE refunds line, which by that time was the only one open. I had to point out the sale items to HER which were on their weekly ad. That time it was a $13 overcharge. I returned today to buy some scrapbook papers, which, in their ad, is CLEARLY stated that they are 4/$1.00 if they are $0.69 or less. Mine were all $0.59 each. Additionally, there are signs throughout the aisle stating this. Of course, to my horror, I got to my car, looked over my receipt and I was charged the 50% off their regular price of $0.59 each. Let's do the math...I had 10 papers. 10x 59 cents is $5.90, divided by 2 = $2.49. That was on the receipt, NOT the 4 for $1.00, which would have been $2.50. Then, looking further, I discovered that the clerk NOT ONLY charged me the $2.49, BUT she ALSO charged me for the $2.50 (10 sheets @ 50% off PLUS a non-existent 10 sheets for 4 for $1.00)...In other words, she DOUBLE CHARGED ME!!!!!! I am DONE, DONE, DONE shopping at Hobby Lobby. And, this time it was an experienced clerk, one who I have talked to many times. If this is how they do business, they can STUFF IT. And, yes, I walked back into the store, to the single checkout line, but there were 9 people in line by then, one single checker, so I walked out. It wasn't worth the $3.00 to stand in line for 30 minutes, but I sure learned a lesson. I will NEVER return. I should have known better. They are ONLY in business to screw people. To the guy who posted that this is not a hobby shop. Knittig, sewing, stained glass making ARE hobbies. I am a soap maker. Imagine how I feel that the items these stores have for MY craft, cheap, and not worthy to be used in my art. Yes, they do have a few soap making supplies and kits for a novice to get acquainted with, and they do sell glycerine blocks to make melt and poor . but nothing for the CP or HP soap makers. With that being said, don't come here if your looking for your oils, micas, colorants, or scents. You'll have to continue ordering on line. Now, if you craft anything else, this is the store for you. It's a huge store. In the center there are lots of non crafted wall art, and home decore. I did see hoards of material, but bypassed it. I don't sew. Lots of jewelry making supplies, paper crafting and sesonal art. I don't like the politics of this company. The medical insurance they carry does not pay for birth control. They are against a womans right to choose to end a pregnancy. I am as well, but I would never step into a private disission a woman makes with her partner, her doctor, and her deity. It is a big box retail store so customer service is that sort of mentality, it's not a personal experience like when you shop small business and the owner is running the register. Jose, the wonderful manager of Hobby Lobby La Quinta, went above and beyond the call of duty helping me get my yarn ordered for a blanket that I wanted to start working on. Being a new client to Hobby Lobby I'm not sure how everything works, and Jose explained everything to me kindly and courteously and helped me to order the exact yarn that I needed, and spent a good amount of time explaining things to me and treating me like I was the only client they had. This hobby lobby location looked as though there were plenty of employees working this morning when I entered the establishment, four employees were standing at one register all having a conversation and I asked one of them for a particular item and one of the employees chose to give me the finger and directed me to the furthest back wall of the store for what I was looking for. No I'm not stupid I'm not disabled I'm very capable of walking and looking but because I'm not familiar with that store I wasn't sure where to go for this item so I was directed to follow the finger I would much rather have had one of the four employees standing there walk me to the back and say here this is what you're looking for. That's true and real customer service. I personally hate it when an employee gives me the finger. It's right up there with being called boss. To start off with I didn't want to go to this store because I have reservations about any company using the label Christian. But my husband wanted to go because of some wall decor he wanted to get. So I unwillingly go in there I make my purchase and use a coupon. My husband tries to make a similar purchase on the same day and the cashier refused the coupon. She said she couldn't take it because it didn't apply to that item. Well weird because I was able to use it. My husband spoke to a manager and she also refused to take the coupon. He told her we wanted to return the other one and she said okay and didn't care to lose a sale or customer. Plus after looking at all there items all made in China and overpriced. More about 'customer service' at Hobby Lobby in La Quinta. I accidentally locked my keys in my car after shopping there, and walked back in to see if I could use a phone to get help. The staff member at tne cash register said 'no' and called tbe manager after I explained my urgency needing to get to work. The manager's first word was an emphatic 'NO' as well. I then asked THREE more staff and customers, all of whom said 'no' despite that fact that I obviously and genuinely needed help. So here's my takeaway. YOU 'CHRISTAN" PEOPLE ARE A PATHETIC JOKE. Sorry to disappoint but this store doesn't carry any supplies for active or extreme hobbies. This is more geared towards sewing, painting, decorating, etc. I would still suggest coming here to get ideas for do-it-yourself projects. I don't agree with the company's personal policies (Having to do with women's rights), BUT if one is willing to separate those thoughts and see past that, this is actually a great store for DIY projects. They carry a very decent selection of flowers to create arrangements, materials to create diy wedding crafts, vast amounts of sewing materials, knitting/crocheting supplies, art supplies, wall decor, and some furniture pieces. Again, although I don't agree with the company's personal women's rights views, I am able to see past it and still shop there.
