Used to go to their first location when they were in back of the Favorite Liquor Store in Burbank. Let me say that these are the best empenadas I have ever tried. From their spinach and cheese, to their spicy chicken, or even their sweet empenadas; you can blindly pick any and you'd be happy with your surprise lol. Be sure to ask for extra chimichurri sauce because once you try it, you'll be drowning your empenadas in them lol. This might be my favorite place in the world. I lived in Burbank years ago, and I stopped in for lunch a few times a week. Now I have to go by every time I visit the area. They were once set up shop in an old gas station, but then moved to their new location on magnolia. The family is so kind, everything is so fresh. World Empanadas prepared my order perfectly, and the empanadas were ready for me as soon as I arrived. And the empanadas were delicious! Each one had a subtle and comforting flavor. There was a huge selection, but all five I ate were high quality. I had planned to take the empanadas on the plane with me, but I ate them so quickly that there were none left by the time I arrived at the airport. Been meaning to check this place out since I've been seeing their vinyl wrapped car in the area. I ended up going here for lunch and it wasn't packed much. Just 3 people inside and another 3 people in line. Not every empanada style was available on the go, but most were. I ended up trying the Sante Fe which was absolutely delicious! And one Spicy Potato and Cheese which was good but too spicy for my liking. Could've also used more cheese. The workers seemed friendly and I didn't experience any problems on the visit. Also helped myself to some of their homemade sauces and those were all great. Would definitely be back to try out some other empanadas. read more

Great empanadas and very hospitable owners. The beans and rice empanada was fantastic, i loved the vegan options. They always have at least 3 vegetarian options to choose from. I also tried the ham and cheese which was very very tasty!! Also had the spinach and cheese. Got an assortment of a dozen empanadas here. The owner was super nice! My favorites were the spicy chile con carne, the beef, and the spinach. I didn't like the creamed corn, ham and cheese, and 2 cheeses as much, but they still weren't bad. I have ordered here twice to cater for office meetings, and our staff love it. Lia is very easy to work with for advanced orders. I do suggest ordering more than you think you will need - I upped our order to a minimum of 3 empanadas per person, plus a large salad and pasta. Yes, we have food left over but when I ordered 2 per person last time I got the stink eye from everyone and Management ignored the request to keep it to two per person for the first pass. This place is amazing. I started going here back when they were inside the liquor store on Victory. Their new place is so much bigger and really nice with plenty of seating. They are super friendly, wonderful people, and the empanadas are awesome. They have a big variety of flavors, daily specials, and even dessert ones. My husband is Chilean so I am used to their style. I have had Argentina style as well and very delicious. The beef and potato and spinach were fabulous. I didn't care for the ham and cheese, the cheese seemed a bit cottage cheesey texture. I would definately come back though. I would also recommend the chimichuri to be a bit less salty.
