Very friendly service and a quick grab and go spot. There were two specialty lattes and my partner was not sure which one he wanted. He said they were very accommodating and actually remade the drink since he wasn't too fond of the first one they recommended. If this isn't deserving of five stars then I don't know what is! We then ordered the caramel hazelnut latte with almond milk and liked it. I will say it tastes artificial but the service was outstanding. read more

World Bean - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Newark, New Jersey

World bean is one of the options in food court. Decent line in am as there aren't many coffee shop choices. Staff was super polite and friendly. Weird part is as others have stated, after ordering, you go pay at checkout, then come back for your cappuccino. Just a bit annoying. Drink was very, very hot. About average taste. Wouldn't go out of my way to purchase, but a decent airport option. read more

Lights are on. Member of staff is putting something away. I stood for a few minutes, but obviously it was too much effort to tell me they weren't open yet. She did look at me, but clearly wasn't interested in helping a potential customer. So I also just left the food that I was going to buy. Doesn't matter if they're open next time I come through, I will still go to Starbucks. Or anywhere else read more

I don't mind standing in line for a good cause, but senseless queuing tends to piss me off. World Bean in Terminal C @ Newark International Airport crossed the line. First I found myself standing in line to order coffee, or at least I thought that was what I was doing. Nope. It was only on the line to pay for the coffee, but if I didn't want a barista to make something for me, I had to join a second line to pour it myself. Two queues for a third rate cuppa joe was more than I could tolerate, so I jumped off the first line and said "goodbye" to Mr. W. Bean. The java on the flight might be hair curling, but at least it was still free with a tea biscuit. Dope. read more

The coffee is okay, but the layout and process are unnecessarily complicated. Get in one line to order (Hot Latin Lover and Air Beneath by Wings?, props for fun names), then get in another to use the touchscreen payment center (there's only one computer for the coffee/snack stand), then get in another to pick up your order (which after all that still takes a while). The Hot Latin Lover has a horchata flavor thing going on, which was fun but overly sweet. The other drink was way better. The barista calling out completed drink orders had to repeat everything because no one could understand her. read more

Interesting concept of airport pick up, pay and go. You can order your food and drink at the many iPad terminals. This was confusing to me as I ordered at the counter then had to go to the kiosk to pay...there are no visible instructions on what to do. However there were plenty of World Bean Reps asking if you need help. Got a coffee (can't really go wrong with that). I ordered a Cheese Danish but they gave it to me cold and don't have an option to warm it up. Good place to chill if you have a layover as there are many bar seats around a counter with TV. Also have plenty of power outlets to recharge your electronic devices. Not too bad but the food could be a bit more better if they could do a simple heating of a pastry. read more

If you are stuck in Newark for four hours after a red eye morning flight, all you want is a decent cup of coffee. Not too strong, not too weak and where you can dump enough sugar and cream to shock your system into a state of semi alertness. Worldbean does not give you this. They instead charge you $3 for something that can best be described as water stepped in an urn of old coffee beans. I even found some beans in the bottom of my cup. Quite possibly the worst coffee i have had. I'm pretty sure they mix it with the old av gas they have left over in the terminal. read more

Realy large woman who can't be bothered to help, or take a simple order. She rolled her eyes when I said: "Yes" because I was standing in front of her, not 2 feet from her face, waiting to give her my order while she finished her random conversation with another employee. She finally turned to me and asked: You want to order sumthin'!? I said hello and good morning at least 3 times to get her full attention. She just kept ignoring me. She then directed me to self checkout which only took credit cards. I'm carrying only cash. I asked her politely if there were checkouts for cash. Again with the eye roll and she waved me off saying the other side. Another attendant was mindful and apologetic. I fly out from United often, almost always these gates, since I'm heading to Miami. Worst coffeeplace I've ever tried. Wanted to order a hot latte before a flight. Showed up and waited in line 10m as one attendant was making coffees to other customers and her two colleagues were ignoring everyone else on their phones. Worse: I get my coffee, go sit at my gate, take a sip and almost threw up immediately. The coffee smells like fuel and tastes like garbage. I run back to World Bean and talk to the barista about how I'm nauseous because of the drink and she tells me "she knows" and she's aware of the issue - the coffee machine overheated. She made me a hot coffee that tasted like poison, and made me want to throw up. Instead of offering of refund, the only thing she said was "I can't do anything, the machine is now shut down" and told me I could grab a cup of drip coffee instead. I would have expected at least a refund. No luck. Avoid at all costs. read more

Stopped in for a latte after hearing my flight was delayed. It wasn't really the choice I was looking for but more the case of there wasn't anything else in the immediate vicinity. Found the employees pre-occupied and disinterested, the place was dirty, tables needed to be wiped down, the trash cans were over-flowing and the floor was littered with food crumbles and trash. After watching my drink being made and the employee wiping down the side of my cup with a dirty rag where the product over flowed, I found a lid on the grungy counter, pop it on and set it in the trash before tasting it. This place was disgusting. read more

Not friendly, fast, or tasty, this "coffee" spot continues the tradition of suboptimal food and caffeine choices in major airports. Food was alright but the worst part is that they charge you by up to $1 over the prices listed on the board. Complete shite. We paid for an extra shot in a 12 oz mocha each. A double 12 oz mocha should be strong in espresso flavor. Coffees came to $14. Insanity. World Bean literally takes over where Dunkin Donuts was...what were they thinking? 3 unmotivated employees man the desolate shop. Lousy cappuccino, almost no foam. Might have been worth walking to the other end of the terminal for Starbucks, much as I don't love their coffe; at least their cappuccino is always perfect. And the payment here is bizarre! You order in one place, take a printout to a kiosk for self pay that has a confusing user interface. Then you go back to World Bean to pick up your order. They don't ask to see your receipt. read more

Average coffee shop in terminal C right next to gate 109. I ordered a large drip coffee ($4) which came out pipping hot! I had to wait about 10 mins to take the first sip. They have a nice selection of espresso drinks, fresh juices and pastries. Service was fast and friendly. There was no line which was a welcome sight having just passed Starbucks which had a line 15 people deep. There are a few small tables if you'd like to sit in the copy shop vs your gate. Overall not a bad place to stop and probably a better choice than starbucks if you are in a hurry. read more

First of all, OTG sucks. Everything they touch turns into a mess. I travel every week for work and what they've done to Newark airport is nothing less than a tragedy. They took an already busy facility and turned it into an absolute zoo. You wonder whether the people who planned the renovation ever actually set foot in the airport when they were a lot of flights coming and going. I don't know who does their staff hiring but my unsupported research reveals that about 90% of the people who work in all of these various stalls are just angry, rude, and could not care less about their jobs. This coffee place is no exception. It's disgusting. They don't ever clean out the little cups that they pour espresso into. They never use a towel to wipe down the milk steamer. I'm never going to buy anything here again. read more

On layover we stopped here for coffee and I witnessed the workers rudely respond to customers' questions. I would understand if they were asking dumb questions but one was clarifying if they were out of a specific muffin and the other was kindly asking for more napkins because the holder was empty. Additionally the counters were a mess and I went in search of creamer and instead found mold! Gross. Neither got what they came for. However I gave two stars because the coffee was strong and decent. But the staff was subpar. read more

Angry staff What a miserable experience I had with world bean this morning at Newark airport. I am a frequent traveler and go through the airport almost every other week. This morning the staff must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed. They were absolutely adamant that I couldn't get a decaf Americano or that I couldn't get whole or 2% milk for my coffee. They practically shouted the word "No" to me. The only saving grace is that the fully leaded coffee did get served promptly. Between ordering one place, having to pay at a separate location and then picking up coffee at another location and finally getting milk/sugar at yet another location ...all while hauling around travel baggage, doesn't make it easy for travelers. The staff didn't help! read more

Ordered a latte from here. After waiting a couple of minutes, I had to ask them for it, which may have been because someone else took my drink. This is likely since they don't call out a name or number. After I asked, they made it quickly, so wasn't too upset. I took a sip as I was boarding my plane only to discover that ordering a latte, it comes sweetened. It reminds me of when I was a teenager and would order coffee at DD and learned I needed to specify not wanting cream and sugar in my coffee. EDIT: As I was throwing away my coffee, I realized it was labeled S + V, which I am guessing means soy vanilla latte. This was the ineptness of the person who labeled the cup, she wrote the specifics of the order before mine. Additional side note, you order at the kiosk and then need to go to self checkout, which is entirely unclear. read more

I would give it 0 stars!!!! waste of time. It's not run on any efficiency schedule. I kept seeing people walk away from the line m. I got a large Americano and it tasted like water. Hell no! The only highlight of this place is a shiny espresso machine which no one knows how to use. If you need a wake me up, only get coffee, nothing more. Do not give this place more money than a cup of coffee. Apparently this place thinks iced mocha as a cheap chocolate ice cream topping which floats upon top of milk, ice, and espresso. If you like coffee flavored water using burnt beans, then this place is for you. This place is seriously overpriced for what you get. I even tried some of the "specialty drinks". I wanted a frozen mocha (or whatever it is called) They made my drink, but failed to tell me that they were out mocha. It took them over 5 minutes to make this one drink. So all I got was a frozen cappuccino. When I demanded a refund they had no idea how to process one and needed a manager from somewhere in the airport to come and handle it. Another United/OTG "experience" all right. The experience of overpriced lousy garbage. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and put back the people who actually know what they are doing. read more

I find the "OTG experience" with the ipads infuriating! We ordered coffee and baked treats from a real person, thinking we bypassed the dehumanizing ipad system, but then we were sent to a check out area to pay at an ding-dang ipad that wouldn't even take cash! The obscene OTG system is confusing and dehumanizing. You know that annoying guy at work that over thinks things and just makes every task more complicated than it needs to be? OTG is "that guy". Disappointing experience. Employees have no clue how their drinks are made - my question of whether the "chocolate orange" was an espresso drink or not was met with blank stares from FOUR employees who were standing around doing nothing, including noticing they had a customer. Luckily the fifth employee knew what was up: the chocolate orange is in fact an espresso drink. I asked for half caf and again, blank stares from four of the five employees. Just to be clear, there are two of these shops in terminal C. I went to the one closest to gate 84 (NOT the one in the hub with all the tables) and had a very positive experience.
