We ended up buying a couple of small items and 2 outfits for our daughter, but being as it is still Nordstrom's, I found a lot of items were pretty pricy. I did like looking through all of their items though and would definitely come back, but I think my budget prefers Home Goods and TJ Maxx. I have some vacations planned for Japan and Copenhagen but I wasn't greeted at all. I even tried to make conversation with the lady complementing the store and she said "thanks" and then looked down back at whatever she was doing. So I left, no "have a good day" or anything. I get it, I was dressed in sweats and no makeup because it's a cold Sunday but I've worked in retail before long enough to know it doesn't matter what people are dressed in. The price range is good compared to some boutiques I've been to in Roseville (about $70-100). These days I'm trying to shop small business but I'm so off put by the customer service, mind you I was only in there for less than 10 minutes and I felt really awkward for even being in there despite wanting to shop--I went on yelp to see if it was just me and lo and behold I'm not. The lady working, Summer, immediately greeted us while finishing up her chat with some other shoppers. Once they left it was only my sister Jamie and I remaining in the shop. Summer approached with the typical ice breaking questions...."how are you? What are you shopping for?" Our response "Good, thank you, we're only looking." As we were thumbing threw hangers, anything my sister touched Summer was right there to size and style her. Grabbing more than what my sister was looking at and setting up a dressing room for her. Anytime Jamie would ask me something, Summer would answer for me while piling more clothes into the dressing room Summer decided she needed. Fast forward to cashing out, Jamie ended up with 6 items, 2 of the items she was unsure of and felt pushed into getting. But figured she'll return them if needed. Three days later Jamie decides she wants to return the two items, so we head back down to Wild Poppy Co. We get there, we're at the register with the owner of Wild Poppy Co. Everything was cool until the owner pulled out a gift card. Jamie hesitated a little and asked if she could get her money back. Leaving in two days to fly back to the east coast, a gift card was not useful for her. And buying more of their product didn't sit comfortably with either of us. The owner explained their return policy (10 days to return an item and money spent on that item you will get back on a gift card) and when Jamie had shared that wasn't part of Summers conversation with us, the Owner reassured us (gaslight tf outta of us) that "Summer is usually really good at telling people the return policy." It was obvious that we both were uncomfortable in the lack of regard provided by the owner. Jamie left with a gift card to a store that neither of us, and hopefully others, will not be returning to. Walking in, the place was packed! The standard Ross security was there, greeting me as I walked in and headed straight for the shoes. They had so many amazing shoes and brands! As we were walking around, we noticed that a lot of the shelves were bare and they did not have any items that we were searching for - I'm not sure if they were getting ready to stock new inventory or what. We ended up leaving without buying anything. The items I did look at were priced fairly and I can't comment on the service since we did not buy anything, but the security guard at the front was very nice.
