Tucked away in the back of the Camp, WIP is a cute, indie cafe with greatly crafted drinks. Their patio gives a cute picnic vibes especially with their gingham tables and wine options. Cute little airy & work-friendly space. Offers lots of seating if you're "WFH". The staff looked a little too busy to offer a welcoming greeting, but it's also 10am in the weekday so they're probably just finishing up a rush. Parking seems to be a little difficult to find, so just keep that in mind with this spot. I had the Matcha Latte w/ Ube Milk Syrup & Oat Milk, it was surprisingly good! I have high standards for Ube flavored anything, and this wasn't terrible but I can tell it wasn't authentically Ube, which I don't really expect from most spots, but they didn't disappoint & I would go back again to try all the other items. read more

I've been meaning to come to WIP and had a delightful experience :)) The inside is an artsy terracotta-like interior - not the best place to study on the weekends imo as it's not too big and can get noisy since there's a lot of people, but to each their own. I got the caesar sando which was pleasantly light and the bread was so crisp and toasty. The inside has a lemony fragrance that leaves a very refreshing taste and I personally really liked it with the arugula. I also got the rosemary latte which has a pinch of salt to it, gives it a nice sweet/savory taste. + Service was great and even though they were busy the food/drinks came out in a rather timely manner. Parking can be tricky as it's a pretty popular spot and there are other stores in the area, but it's near other places to visit like the LAB/CAMP! read more

Loved the Caesar salad sando! Super fresh and great flavor. We also got the Spicy Sando which was similar to an Italian Sub - also great flavor and the bread is amazing. The hojicha latte was a bit grainy but overall decent tasting. It was raining when we dined in and only noticed after we were packing up that there was a large crack in the wall and a puddle started forming on our seat. It led to our items getting soaked but luckily nothing important got damaged. Parking is insane here since it's a tiny lot shared with other stores. read more

Service was nice and there's a few tables available on a Saturday morning because most people got their orders to go. Dog friendly patio as well. There was a line out the door but it took only 10 minutes and then about 15 minutes for our sandwich and drink orders. It's pretty loud inside so not a study cafe. Parking is terrible since it's at the CAMP even in the morning. Hojicha latte is bad. Don't waste your money. It's mostly milk with barely any hojicha and whatever hojicha they used tastes like something you get from Ralph's in the Asian section. It's also unsweetened so you're drinking milk dirt. Their sandwiches were really good though. I'd suggest skipping their drinks and just getting the food. The breakfast burrito was a little too mushy and you really needed more hot sauce but the breakfast sando was great. Crispy bread and great seasoning. I wouldn't come here just for Work in Progress but if you're in the area and have 30 min to spare to pick up a sandwich, I recommend them. read more

The atmosphere is lively and the interior design is amazing. If you can, check out the wine and all the cute merch for sale all over the walls! You might miss it because it is directly behind seating. I was recommended the Caesar Sando, and the barista explained how he didn't like some of the components inside of it, but was surprised because it was the best sandwich he's ever had? I gave it a try, and he was so right. I've been raving about it to all my friends. I also got matcha with oatmilk (they use minor figures oat milk!) and the pistachio cold foam on top was fantastic. as soon as this building came into view i loved the vibe. the open doors on two sides of the cafe let in tons of natural light and a refreshing breeze. super airy interior with plenty of seating for pairs, and a big table in the middle, which my party took to play card games on lol the cashier/barista was efficient and kind, which made the line move fast. i ordered the matcha einspanner and took their rec to add pandan cream on top. the pandan added this nutty sweetness that paired so well with the earthy matcha, and the cream layered beautifully as the drink mixed while sipping. my friends got different drinks (americano, ube latte, lavender matcha) and everyone was happy with their pick. prices were fair for the market, quality, hospitality, aesthetics i'd totally come back with a laptop! people were cycling in and out without hogging tables, but it also felt like a space where you could post up and work for a while. read more

Added perks include speedy WiFi that reaches the outdoor patio and clean restrooms. The matcha needs work 2/5 - both classic and pistachio lattes lack the rich green color you'd expect. Maybe I'll try the cold brew next time, because I wouldn't want to skip the pistachio cream topping. That was excellenttt--perfectly balanced sweetness with a rich, pistachio flavor that needs no adjustment. I also tried the breakfast burrito 5/5, which felt a bit pricey at $16 considering its size. However, the taste might just make it worth it. The pastrami pairs so well with the eggy, potato-filled wrap. It's served with a crispy crust and comes with side salsas for extra flavor. This place was recommended by a coworker so when I had a day to do some work from home I knew that I wanted to come check out this place! I came mid-morning on a Monday night and was able to get a table but it definitely got more crowded as time went on. I got the cold brew with sesame cold foam and the breakfast burrito. Tbh, I will definitely be back for the coffee without a doubt!! Looooved the sesame cold foam. The burrito was also delish, don't get me wrong. No complaints about the burrito except for the fact that I was expecting it to be bigger for the price they have it at. Besides that, it was delish. Ranging from the crowd favorite rosemary latte to their shakerato and espresso tonic, the menu truly has something for everyone! The rosemary brown sugar latte was my favorite drink of the day. It had a smooth/creamy taste. The salted cream top provided slight saltiness in contrast to the brown sugar, while the rosemary added hint of pine-like flavor, wanted a bit more actually. Mint included in the mint matcha latte was more pronounced than expected, paired very well with the matcha. The matcha powder itself was high-quality and mixed thoroughly, did not have a "fishy" taste. Tortilla wrap of the AM burrito was thin and perfectly crisped, it was also loaded generously. The pickled red onions provided acidity and freshness to the fatty bacon, really wished they gave more! read more

Tucked away on the side of the Camp is this AMAZING cafe. Super cute inside, great service, and the type of menu that's small enough that you know everything is good--and all the menu items definitely sounded good. Got their seasonal Mango Cream Foam on the "Matchacano" which I thought paired super well. It wasn't overly sweet, and the mango flavor was pretty intense despite it just being foam. I'm used to drinking boba drinks with cheese foam where you're not supposed to mix it, so I drank it that way. This foam is indeed like the cheese foam at boba places but BETTER. I'm really interested in trying their tonic drinks as well. That reminds me of one time where me and a date had just gotten boba and she ordered it with cheese foam on top. Honestly with the flavor she got, it was sort of weird but hey, I like adventure so I found it a positive. However, she began vigorously mixing the cheese foam into the boba as if she was whipping an omelette. She was making a little bit of a mess so I said I think the place had instructions that said not to mix it in and to just sip it with it on top. Then we had an argument about what's better--mixing it or just sipping it with the foam on top. At first, I thought she was joke arguing. But then, it got real awkward in the car when she told me her feelings were hurt. But, she did text me later saying that I was right about not mixing it. However, she also said she doesn't go out with guys who can't break the rules of boba. I think back to that day every now and then--but mostly just about whether I should've gotten a different flavor tea that day. Anyways, I'd definitely be back even though the parking in this plaza sucks sometimes (came here on a Sunday morning and it wasn't crowded yet at all, but this place was certainly crowded inside). It took a while for the food to come, and I thought everything was mediocre. The einspanner had a coconut after taste, which I didnt like. Food was fresh but nothing to write home about. This spot gives major coffee vibes over wine vibes for me. Quick disclaimer--I only tried the affogato, so I can't comment on the food. The ambiance is a whole mood: urban zen meets Tulum. It's got that young millennial crowd energy, plenty of seating, and a cute front patio to hang out on. The service? Super polite and welcoming--loved that part. The affogato was pretty fire. Flavorful, good quality, but here's the twist: it came with a cold espresso shot instead of hot. I didn't specify, so that might be on me, but still kinda unexpected. Okay, now for the not-so-great part: the cleanliness. Yikes. I'm super picky about this, and the dust situation here was wild. The AC vent and ledge were crusty, and the lower cabinets/walls near the floor were pretty gross--like inconsistent mopping vibes. The flavor combo of rosemary and brown sugar in coffee sounded unique so I decided to try it. The coffee was solid. When we arrived the placed with packed. There is plenty of seating. There were people socializing and other people studying. There is a large window off to one side of the coffee shop which gave the shop great natural lighting. If I'm in the area I would like to try some of their other coffee and food offerings. My favorite coffee shop in OC! The drink recipes are so good and the inside is so cute. I love coming here and getting a drink and walking around the antimall. Even though they are very busy they get the drinks out pretty fast and all the baristas are very easy going and patient when explaining their various drinks on the menu. I came here on a Wednesday to do some work and catch up with a friend. It was very busy so I had to sit outside for a bit, but people came and went pretty frequently. There is also a lot of space to sit inside. There are 4 outlets (2 on each wall) and I thought this would stress me out, but again, people come and go frequently, so if you are there for a while and don't urgently need the outlet, you will be able to access it eventually. The wifi was pretty good too but it did go out for a couple of minutes, but that happens. I ordered the pistachio cold foam cold brew. The foam itself was not sweet and had more of an umami/meaty pistachio taste, as opposed to something artificial or with a bunch of sugar. The cold brew was very fruity and sweet(?), which isn't my preferred taste of cold brew. I did like the drink, but it wasn't anything special. It was pretty affordable though which I appreciated (~$6). My friend got the strawberry matcha and forgot to ask for less sugar, so her drink was pretty sweet. I had a sip and it tasted a bit like nesquick lol. Around lunch time, we split a sandwich. It was the only vegetarian sandwich on the menu, but it was very delicious. I would love if it had tofu or some protein, but over all it was a delicious sandwich. I would recommend this over the drinks to be honest. Ample street parking, don't even try to park in that "parking lot", just park on the street. read more
