    Bacon and pepperoni pizza
    Jane R.

I haven't had pizza from this place in about 15 years since we moved away from the area.. guess what?! Their pizza is still outstanding!! It was worth the ride. Although I find the prices are a little high for Woonsocket, I still feel the employee deserves a tip since all restaurants are hurting a bit right now. The cook estimated 45 minutes on the phone, and that's exactly when I received my order. I will be back again soon. You will not be let down by their pizza! It is delish!!

    Sad pepperoni pizza... heartburn

Wow.. I'm not impressed. I just downloaded the slice app and being new to Woonsocket, having never ordered here before and trying to support local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, I felt this was an easy choice- free delivery too? No brainer. I called in because the slice app doesn't allow a pay by cash option. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza, large order of buffalo wings and a large order of fries for a family of 3. It took an hour, but they told me it would ahead of time. When it arrived we were so excited that the portions were enough for us! Sadly .. the quality was way off.. please don't just visualize what I'm saying but also review the pictures for accuracy. I wanted to like this place SO BAD!! I wanted to write a good review, I wanted to frequent this place .. but here we are, more than half the food remains as I stop everything I'm doing to write this review. The second thing we notice is that the wings are not buffalo at all- everywhere you go in this world, buffalo wings are tossed in buffalo sauce, that's what make them buffalo wings.. what we got instead is what the rest of America calls wing dings or wing zings.. I thought, they must have made a mistake. So I called the store and I know that I was (for sure) speaking to a manager; I know because he made sure to let me know that for over 10yrs that's how he's been making buffalo wings and they are "buffalo breaded" and are spicy (they absolutely were not) he said he knows they're spicy because he dropped them himself and there's nothing he can do for me. I explained to him that this is my first time ordering there, it was not in any way specified that the was "buffalo breaded" and I didn't know that's how they did things.. he said for future reference we must ask for it to be buffalo dipped!! He said he had 5 orders ahead of mine but would send them dipped as soon as possible.. Honestly at that point I had decided to overlook his past his sour attitude to give them a shot at redemption. As we waited we started at the pizza.. every time I try a new place I order a basic pepperoni pizza- this is the deciding factor as to whether or not I would order different flavors/ styles in the future. Please, stray from this review for a second to look at the pictures.. It took 3 napkins to soak up the amount of grease on one slice! I was still optimistic, I reassured hubby that this was because of the cheese and pepperoni.. the taste itself is not bad, but the consistency was was soggy, flimsy yet rubbery, I don't get how that's even possible. The crust had a nice crunch to it though.. the cheese completely separated from the dough (pictured) .. my son compared the pizza to an old shoe -when the soles start talking and said it tasted like one too. I didn't bother to call the store back because I wasnt interested in going back and forth with someone who obviously doesn't follow customer service principal #1- the customer is always right. I will say the fries did not arrive hot and were soggy .. I bet they would've tasted nice had they been fresh.. they were just put into a styrofoam container and got really soggy. Finally, the buffalo wings arrive... I don't know if the manager was trying to be funny but they weren't dipped, they were soaked!! And couldn't have been fresh because they were lukewarm. They sat in a heavy pool of sauce (pictured) not cool.. it made the dish salty and inedible. We're so upset. When things go wrong, most people don't complain or write yelp reviews, they just stop coming. I really hope someone reads this and somehow tries to make this right.. $30 down the drain and that is not what we wanted to happen during these trying times.. I feel disrespected, undervalued and hungry.. as a first time customer, you lost our business. Customer service isn't there.. all around miss.

Just found my new favorite local spot LJ's…read more It's one of those rare places that feels like a hidden gem right in the middle of the city. The vibe is cozy and welcoming, but there's always something going on, live music, karaoke nights, and even fundraisers that really bring the community together. The food absolutely delivers. The pizza is on point (perfect crust, great flavor), and the smashburgers are next-level. Juicy, crispy edges, everything you want in a burger. It's the kind of place where you can grab a casual dinner, hang out with friends, and end up staying way longer than you planned because the atmosphere is just that good. If you're looking for great food and a spot that actually feels like part of the community, LJ's is definitely worth checking out.

Thursday night, and Lj's Kitchen fills up while you eat. It starts with one other table in the…read moreroom. By the time the pizza's gone, the bar is full and most of the tables are too. TVs overhead running NESN, a chalkboard listing specials that include a meatball ricotta pizza and a fried green tomato BLT, and a room that goes from quiet to humming in the time it takes to finish dinner. Lauren and I ordered a ten-inch bar pie, pepperoni and meatball, and a chicken parm sandwich on the side with a pile of fresh-cut potato chips. It's what a bar pie should be. Cheese bronzed and even, that dark caramelized edge where it ran past the crust and met the hot pan, the sauce light, not heavy or oversweet, meatball torn into rough chunks, clearly homemade, its flavor strong enough to overpower the rest of the pie a little. Solid pie. The chicken parm sandwich held its own too, cutlet clearly hand-breaded and fresh, not some frozen thing dropped in a fryer, sauce richer and heavier than the pizza's, soaking into good bread without turning it to mush, and those chips tasted like someone actually fried them that day. But the pizza wasn't the thing I kept thinking about on the drive back. It was how fast our drinks got refilled, even as the place filled in around us. How someone checked on us without hovering, the way regulars get checked on, not the way tables get checked on. LJ's has the feel of a neighborhood watering hole where the staff knows half the room by name, except somehow you don't feel like the other half. You feel like you belong, on your first visit, before you've ever said your name. The place is named for the owners' six-year-old daughter, LunaJett, who we hear is a lead waitress on Sundays. Makes sense. It's the kind of restaurant that makes you feel like family before you've finished your first beer, whether you're six or sixty. Not a pilgrimage. But worth the drive to Woonsocket on a Thursday night, and worth going back again.
