Stopped by for lunch here and it was excellent! The parking in the front was tight, but there were plenty of spaces in the rear. We ordered a wonton & beef noodle soup, curry fishballs, and the steamed vegetable. The highlights were the wontons obviously and the fishballs. The wontons were massive, with multiple shrimp inside each, really impressive. The curry fishballs were delicious, I loved mixing the noodle in the sauce. Overall it was a great meal, simple and delicious!

Chinese noodle restaurant @ Edison, NJ We used to come here for a hearty bowl of the noodle soup but the taste of the wonton dumpling soup has been changed. The dumplings no longer had shitake mushroom inside and the soup was not clear and was very salty. The server didn't greet us properly and was not friendly. The restaurant was also very cold inside. It appears that the ownership might have changed.

Went to Wonton Guy for lunch on a Saturday. It's located in a strip mall, and the parking lot is hard to get in and out of since you're backing out directly into Route 27. It's a small restaurant, gives vibes similar to a Chinese takeout joint, but with authentic wonton noodle soups. I got the wonton noodle soup with wontons, dumplings, beef brisket, and egg noodles. It was decent, especially for NJ, but nowhere near as good as going to Chinatown. At least they're quick, friendly, and have fair prices.

We walked to Wonton guy after doing some light shopping in the Hmart plaza. It's right along route 27, so it's in a great location. The inside is very no frills and that function over fashion mindset was felt throughout the experience. There are only ten tables inside and meals come out pretty quickly. So despite its size, we didn't need to wait for a seat. I had the three topping noodle soup, with egg noodles, dumplings, and sliced beef. Digging in, you can immediately tell this is Chinese comfort food through and through. Nothing fancy, but it's a large portion of food, for a very good price. Whereas most Japanese ramen restaurants tend to skimp on proteins and focus on an aesthetic meal, you won't find that here. You can come hungry, and leave satisfied. The broth was a lighter and simpler broth, and I felt the same way about the noodles. The sliced beef had good flavor, but I found it to be a bit too chewy. The dumplings were filled with shrimp and were definitely the star of the dish. Altogether, I enjoyed my experience, but I would say the restaurant is best suited as a quick, satisfying meal of value and convenience rather than something you would actively seek out.

The noodles here are legit. I think its just as good as you can get in HK. Delicious. Prices are reasonable too. We usually come here if we are looking for a quick meal. It is on the smaller side and gets busy, so I recommend avoiding the peak times. Staff speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English. Tip: get the milk tea! Bottle is $6

Wonton Guy is a great noodle soup and dumpling spot! The service is quick and it's kid friendly too. They have a booster seat and high chairs. I liked the shrimp wonton noodle soup and the flavor of the broth is nourishing. It's aromatic and light. The lo mein is not like American Chinese restaurant style but is more like a dry noodles with soup on the side. Enjoyed and would return!

My friends (with great taste in food) highly recommended this place for their wonton soup - they said it's better than wonton soup they have had in Hong Kong, which is where this dish can be popularly eaten. It was so good - you can choose your toppings / combo to get, I loved the fish balls and of course had to try wontons. I would definitely come back for this.

Hong Kong is loaded with street vendors and small restaurants. Its cuisine is a unique and diverse culinary tradition that reflects the city's history and culture. It is a fusion of Chinese, British, and Southeast Asian flavors and techniques, with a focus on fresh seafood, noodles, and rice. Open since Thanksgiving 2022, this establishment is about a block from a plaza with nearly a dozen Asian restaurants and the H Mart Korean supermarket in Edison. Located on Route 27 off of Plainfield Avenue, Wonton Guy is not Chinese-American food but authentic Hong Kong fast food, where I decided to have lunch today. Upon entering, I was greeted by the staff and got a small table right away inside a cozy, sparse dining area about 10 tables, an open kitchen, and one full wall showing the bright lights of Kowloon in Hong Kong at night. The menu specializes in wontons, of course, in a soup, or just noodles with soup on the side (lo mein). I went for the Two Toppings Lo Mein with shrimp wonton 雲吞 and beef brisket 牛腩 , which were the most popular. Complimentary hot tea started the meal. The meal came out quick and was served hot. It focused on its bold and complex flavors. The broth was made overnight, and the huge wontons stuffed with shrimp and pork, making them hearty and satisfying, were freshly made every morning and tasted authentic. The brisket was tender. The price was very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful with what to recommend; my server was Ray. It was a great deal, and I recommend this place.

This place is ok if you're looking for a quick, cheap meal. They definitely don't skimp on the noodles or toppings, but the quality of the food (especially the rather chewy beef) is on the somewhat lesser side. Wontons were decent enough though. The broth is very light but definitely has that msg taste one might expect from classic Chinese comfort food.

Really great wontons at reasonable prices! The shrimp wontons are massive and you'll definitely be full afterwards. They have all the sauces you need on the side too - their chili oil is super good! Only complaint is the soup base isn't as flavorful, but again it's super customizable because of the ingredients on the side. ty for reading :^)

Great comfort food. Ordered wonton noodle soup with brisket and it was served hot and quick. Very flavorful broth with chili oil on the table for you to add your own spice if you like. The wontons are fresh, flavorful, and THICK! The brisket was tender and flavorful as well. The fish ball texture was not for me, but had good flavor. The service was quick and friendly. The location is small, but you are in and out. Overall 10/10 would recommend!

Wonton noodle actually taste similar to the one found in Hong Kong. Is bigger wonton but the freshness of the shrimp really shrine. Curry fish ball is pretty solid. Would get it as a reoccurring snack. One thing that was surprising was the brisket. Brisket was very good despite being a wonton place. Quick service, go in put your name down if there is a line. Quick and quiet place, would come back weekly. P.s: buy their chilli oil. Is like crack. Very addicting.

Portions are huge and prices are cheap. This is definitely one of my grandparents' favorite restaurants in the area. Everything is really authentic, and the broth is super flavorful after being stewed for so long. The flavor notes are exactly reminiscent of Hong Kong and the noodles are crisp. The wontons are so massive and huge that I get sent into a food coma every time I eat it and the service is super quick. Pro tip: you can buy a side of their chili oil to take home and it's the most authentic that you can get for wonton noodles.

The service is very friendly and patient (and American friendly). The food comes out lightning fast. Everything is very reasonably priced. Best of all, it's all delicious. I tried stuff outside of my comfort zone and I loved it all. My favorite were the pork juicy buns (soup dumplings) but the most unique thing was the pan fried noodle which was like a crispy deep fried noodle that would soften as it sat in the sauce. The golden lava buns were sweet and rich and perfect for dessert.

We were second standing outdoors waiting in this big fat long line. Immediately upon opening for the day the line nearly forced entry near stampede and this cafe was immediately packed to full occupancy of patrons with free seating. The Yelp reviews are accurate and truthful. The food is great. This is a small cafe with only approximately eight tables. I do not recommend large parties of five and greater. It is no-frills, but not exactly "hole in the wall" type that lack in aesthetics for upscale lavish atmosphere but the deficiency is resolved in the food quality. There is one sole functioning restroom in the whole business, ergo, stand in line and wait. We entered hungry in a lugubrious sense of deep sorrow, but exited hunger pangs fulfilled. When exiting upon completion of our lunch meal, there was a line that quickly formed outdoors waiting. Unfortunately, access to this cafe in Edison, NJ is by car only and there is a free parking lot that is shared with neighboring businesses located in a small shopping complex. There are no business cards, and no takeout menus available. Customer service is efficient as the staff worked methodically hustling busy to take orders and fulfillment. Our male waiter was attentive to respond to our inquiries and make suggestions based on our desires. I was able to keep the sales receipt. Price is in the rationale realm of stagflation totaling $41.75. Nota Bene: No table hibernation as the table turnover is fast pace with a line overflowing outdoors which cannot interrupt the flow. My foodie synopsis: Pork steam soup dumplings, 6 pcs, siu2 lung4 baau1, 小籠包, $8.75 Very juicy, flavorful and great. It was served piping hot. This is my favorite default dish for every visit at any Shanghainese ethnic cuisine. However, there were no serving tongs provided for this particular appetizer which is industry standard. Preserved cabbage with pork noodle soup, syut3 coi3 juk6 si1 min6, 雪菜肉絲麵 $9.50 This is a satisfying Chinese comfort food. This noodle soup was abundant with noodles, pork and chopped vegetables. It provided warmth to my very broken heart. Shanghai chicken in wine sauce, zeoi3 gai1, 醉雞, $8.95 A traditional Chinese cold appetizer, aka Chinese Drunken chicken made with Chinese Shaoxing cooking wine. It has amazing flavor and texture to be deliciously enticing. Of course, the cooking wine brings flavor to this appetizer making you want more. Shanghai pan fried U-Don noodle, soeng6 hoi2 cou1 caau2 min6, 上海粗炒面, $11.95 Abundant noodles with good consistency and it not heavily filled with grease and oil.
