OK please come back Wong family and save us I have been going for like 40 years and went last week for my normal bday meal I called to make my order and was told 20 min I knew it was a bad sign because it was always an hour wait so I go and see it has been remodeled and they have everything on computer now to find my order it was more money for less food than I usually order.i get it home and my car does not have that food smell we go to eat and it's got the same gravely on the broccoli beef and the egg Foo Yong it was brown and not the same the fried rice was simular but nothing else I had the feeling it is now a hipster Chinese food place so if you were a fan and someone like me that loved it you will be very disappointed it's not the same and I do t think I will be going g back after almost 40 years I have to try and find a new place it is the end of a great place I tried to give the new one a chance but it will leave you sad miss g the good old days happy I had some right before they left I wish they will Come back read more

New ownership. Food is not the same! I've been coming here for 35+ years and the food and owners were fabulous! I have since moved from the area, and today I stopped by to pick up some food only to be disappointed. My order was incorrect and one of my favorite dishes did not taste the same. I called and learned the restaurant is under new ownership and some of the recipes have changed. The owner was kind enough to give a credit for one of the items. What a sad day. The food is delicious!!!! Very friendly. For dine in or to go. Pork fried rice, mixed meat chow fun, war wonton soup are a must every time just to start. Prices are low for the amount of food, definetely a bargain. Went in to order my fav meal and looks like the menu has changed and when the food did come in it was not the same! Different taste :( my nephew who loves it even tasted the difference and spit out the beef. The restaurant is under different management and they have added more seats which has made the customer service go down since they are now servicing 6-8 more tables plus now delivery on food delivery apps. So expect a longer delay on your food. read more

I have to say I have been a customer of Wong's Kitchen for over 25 years since I was a little girl. Recently I went and I noticed that they had upgraded the restaurant. The restaurant looks more modern compared to how it looked before. I talked to one of the workers and I asked him wow you guys upgraded and I asked him is it under new management they said yes. I ordered take out when I got home I noticed the quality of food had changed drastically the chowmein noodles seem more like a soup type overcooked noodles, there was a lot less meat in the beef broccoli, and mixed meat fried rice hardly had any meat in it. I'm sad to say that the real Wong's is gone. I hope they bring it back the new Wong's needs to think about do they want a good-looking restaurant or good quality food. Since I had brought my food home on Valentine's Day to eat it with my family as takeout I called the restaurant and I spoke to Jason and I let him know that the food was bad. I did not get a single word out of him other than I'm sorry. I'm definitely not recommending this restaurant to anybody unless they change it back to its original and I'm not sure if I will be back. read more

CASH ONLY! The food is ok but not exceptional. My pork frird rice had only a couple very small pieces of pork. For some reason we had three different waitresses and one of them couldn't speak engrish. We ordered two different dinner combinations which was a little confusing. Then they got both me and my girlfriends dinner mixed up. When they served us they dindnt tell us the rest was on the way. So we sat there for another 10 mins wondering if we had more coming or not. It also took 40 mins for us to get our food. Pros: Nice employess. Low cost. Sat us quickly. Free parking. I have been going to WONGS for 17 1/2 years, since I moved to this area. It has been one of the best go to Chinese restaurants in the area. Great prices, great food, great choices! I collected their calendars for the last 17 years and put them on my downstairs bathroom wall. They were very colorful and decorative and showed my love for their food. I've been coming to Wong's kitchen since I was a little boy. I remember getting full after our meal and just curling up like a ball and sleeping next to my mom in there booths. I live about 25-30mins away, I typically do take out so by the time I arrive food is ready to be picked up. The owner I call her "Grandma" is always there walking by, checking in on her guests saying hello w/ a smile on her face. My husband and I have been eating here for 25+ years. The prices and quality have remained the same until our latest visit Jan 4th. The flavors were not the same as what we have remembered over the last many years. I ordered almond chicken and my husband had moo goo gai pan. The flavors were bland and disappointing. I used to like eating here. I used to get beef broccoli with fried rice and shrimp. One day I decided to try the beef chop suey. I ordered it to go. I got home and started eating it. All was good until I reached the bottom of the box. As I put the spoon in to take a bite I noticed something in the sauce. Yes folks, it was an INSECT. A small dead, black insect with legs and red spots was in the the chop suey. I was too disgusted to take a picture and threw that shit away. Anytime you find an insect in your food that is a sign that the kitchen is dirty and there is probably an infestation. Will NEVER come back here. read more

This place kicks all sorts of ass. As far as Chinese food goes they have their own style and taste. Definitely try this place its tasty and cheap. I recommend the pork fried rice, the egg foo yung, almond chicken spicy, and the chowmein is pretty kick ass. Its a good place to take out, it gets pretty crowded plus no booze. read more

This place is great! From the outside it may look small but it's a pretty decent size. The server brings you free fried noodles and green tea. The food is tasty and the prices are cheap. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because they only take cash and the tea wasn't that hot, more like lukewarm. Other than that, I give this place an A! read more

Came in for brunch with my family and the service was absolutely slow and rude. We waited half an hour to be seated and it wasn't that busy to begin with. The waitress took her slow time taking our orders and brought our drinks 15 minutes after we were seated. I didn't know what to expect for the food to be like but it was not good at all. The chow mein was a joke and the sweet and sour chicken was not tasteful either. The prices were cheap but I suppose you get what you pay for. Growing up in Arleta there were two names synonymous with great Chinese food in the area: Chow's over on Roscoe by Kaiser which was mostly take-out (no family seating) and Wong's. Although Chow's is gone after 30+ years, I recently visited my folks in Arleta and had Wong's and the food was just as delicious as I remembered. Those of you who have been around long enough know that Wong's used to be down the street over in the little strip mall that Papas N Tacos is in now. read more

This is your classic definition of a small hole in the wall GREAT restaurant. My brother and I were looking for a new fast food Chinese Take-out dine in restaurant. Started the search with for excellent Chinese restaurant's in the area and this place came up number one. So I placed an order that would cover just about everything from seafood to vegies. I was impressed. Their sea food is done almost to perfection (The scallops with black beans was killer), I was skeptical about chicken eggroll, but these were excellent!. I also had their version of Mongolian Beef and was pleased. My brother tried their Chicken Chow Mein and loved it. One of the main things I like about this place is that they give you a choice on how spicy you like your food. My Brother likes his medium to lite while I like mine 5 alarm fire. It's quite hard to find good Chinese restaurants in LA. You woudn't think, but it's true. After a former student recommended Wongs, I was impressed. I visit Wong's on the regular and am always impressed by the kind staff and prompt service. Their dishes are great for sharing, so we typically order chicken chow mein with soft noodles and an order of triple delight AND sometimes have enough for leftovers! Keep up the good work Wongs! Good Chinese. they bring you some fried chow mein. I'm not really crazy about that as much as other people. I usually get a dinner special. It comes with soup, an egg roll, a couple of tempura shrimp, some paper chicken.
