Made a reservation for here at 5pm on a Sunday and there were actually still plenty of seating around. We ordered our rounds, basically din tai fung portion sizes so they're kinda small. Quality was great though! We tried different XLBs, the original is a classic, garlic was all our favorites, black truffle was a bit subtle (can pass next time), and the birria was interesting to try. The birria tasted very tomato-y, not as meaty as imagined, but it was actually not bad. Very soupy. The garlic was all our favorites as it really bursted in flavor. The classic XLB was also really nice, the dumpling skin is quite thick, the soup is very rich, pork meat was very flavorful. We also ordered other items like the sweet and sour pork (pretty good!), walnut shrimp (had an odd lemon taste to it), string beans (pretty standard), and the fried rice with pork (this one was pretty good too). Overall the food was pretty good but it does get pricey. Service was also pretty friendly and efficient as well. I like the pork original XLB. Skin is thin, meat flavor is good. Pork and prawn wonton in chili sauce. Ok. I wish there was more flavor The newest collab they had is the birria dumplings and those were good with the jalapeno dipping sauce. The meat was perfectly seasoned and paired really well with the dipping sauce. We also got the porkchop fried rice and that was really good. I think like most people, I came here for the rainbow xiao long bao. I think it's fun to try on a first visit but not something I would repeatedly get. I think it's a great sampler to see what flavors are your favorite and then just focus on those. I've been to the location in South Coast Plaza once a few years ago, and personally I found the flavors were more rich over there. The flavors at the Glendale location tasted more muted that nothing really stood out. When they arrived, the temperature was also more lukewarm. Luckily, everything else we got was mostly decent. Everything was prepared nicely and arrived quickly. The stand out was the woodear mushroom appetizer. The Szechuan Vinaigrette was a game changer, that it makes me want to replicate it at home. The Dan Dan noodle was mostly just nutty tasting and not much else, but luckily the noodles weren't made soggy from the sauce. Finally we got the chili pork wontons, and we thought this was not super flavorful, but nonetheless still a decent dumpling. Glendale is closer for me, but if I were to go back I'd make it a point to go to South Coast Plaza. read more

This was my husbands and i's first time here and it's located at the old DTF location. The overall look is very cool, vibrant, and boujee feel. Theres a nice little bar seating area and ample amount of table seating inside. And like DRF they have a viewing king of area where the dumplings are being made. Another thing that paradise dynasty offers is a HH Monday thru Friday 2:30pm to 5pm - 50% XLB, rice dishes, stir fried noodles, dim sum, and appetizers plus $2.99 each on regular drinks, Sapporo and house wines . Which I think is a pretty good deal! The food was incredible. I've been wanting to try the 8 flavor XLB and it did not disappoint. The cheese and the bbq pork were flavors that weren't bad but just not something I would have thought for a xlb. But they weren't my favorite lol. I'd say from the 8, the black truffle and the crab meat with roe were the best and had the most flavor. They had a special birria xlb and that was also very good. Really tasted like birria and had a lot of flavor to it. It came with like a little salsa, didn't really need it but it was definitely really delicious! We also got the cucumbers which I'm just a sucker for and they were very light and refreshing. Also order the prawn and pork wontons in chili sauce which was very good and not spicy at all, and the fried pork chop fried rice which was very well seasoned and the pork was very juicy with a nice little crisp on the outside. For dessert we ordered the chocolate panda buns. Very pillowy soft . Do be careful to not eat it right away because it was piping hot when it came. It's like molting lava when you bite it open it up so do be careful when biting into it. May be messy. LATE REVIEW. My family and I were always curious as to how Din Tai Fung's competition tastes like. Compared to the famous DTF, the wait here was not bad on a Wednesday night. We were seated right away even though the restaurant was super busy. Good sign, business in booming for sure. We got too excited with how unique the menu is and ended up ordering way too much food. The portions of the appetizers, vegetables and rice (not pictured) were bigger in size. The XLB's that we ordered were all so good! The restaurant is pretty clean and spacious. My family & I visited Paradise Dynasty for the first time last month. I reserved a table on OpenTable for a late lunch on Sunday afternoon, and we didn't have to wait long to be seated upon arrival. The place is upscale, yet still casual. I thought their indoor temperature was quite warm, but I'm unsure why; maybe it was because of where we were seated (booth near the back). Also, the service was friendly, but a bit slow during our visit. We ordered a variety of dishes to share. My faves were the Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao ($20.75), which was a colorful dumpling flight with interesting fillings; and the Chef's Special Assorted Sweet Mochi Duo with fillings of Green Tea Matcha & Black Sesame ($14.88), which was fragrant and mildly sweet. There's another restaurant nearby that's also famous for Xiao Long Bao, and I think Paradise Dynasty could be a comparable alternative if the wait time is too long at the other place. read more

I didn't realize that paradise dynasty has now taken over the old DTF location! Came here with some friends to try out their new Birria XLB. It was really good. Way better than their BBQ pork flavor. It was subtle and light and not overpowering or too spicy. Our server was so nice her name was Minh Tran. The night was already so busy but she was attentive, kind, fast, and made us feel very comfortable. They do not validate parking so I suggest the Glendale galleria which is a little bit of a walk but you're going to want to walk off all the yummy food you just ate. My favorites are the truffle and garlic XLB. So flavorful. But if you haven't come here you need to get the sampler XLB. It's so fun and all of the flavors are so so satisfying. The fried rice is very good, it honestly tastes exactly like DTF which is a good thing. The radish PASTRY IS A MUST TRY. We always get two orders when we go here it's so good. They also had a spring chef selection menu which we got the crispy scallops so filling and flavorful. And the sweet mochi green tea matcha and black sesame. The black sesame was top tier. Came here to celebrate my sister's birthday in April and it was absolutely spectacular! Food: Delectable! My brother and sister enjoyed everything we got! Our favorites were the sweet and sour baby pork ribs with the shrimp fried rice! The flavors were on point and my mouth is watering thinking about it again! Service: AMAZING! The hostess who greeted us was very kind and attentive. Emily really left an impression on me and my siblings because she kept checking up on us and she's just so amazing! I am so happy that Paradise Dynasty made it to LA, and walking distance from where I live!! Overall, my first experience going there was 10/10. The service was fast, friendly, and the food tasted great! I came on a Monday night around 7:30 PM with a reservation. It was not that busy, and there was plenty of tables available. Everything was delicious. We ordered: pork chop fried rice, shrimp fried rice, TWO orders of honey walnut shrimp, pork xiao long bao, and the spicy wontons. This was an order for only 3 people... we were HUNGRY, and we finished everything. I would say the honey walnut shrimp along with the xiao long baos are the real showstoppers. It was good but in my experience I feel with all the hype it could have been better. One thing I can say is service was good. Thankfully we were allowed to be seated even though the majority of the party wasn't there. So that was nice. Many other establishments wouldn't do that so that was a plus. I'm sure many people have heard that this is a rival restaurant to the previous dumpling restaurant that originally was housed in the same location. But the internet and the blue checkered reviewers who get payed for their false reviews got me again! Cucumber salad, garlic green beans, woodear mushroom salad, pan fried pork buns, steamed chicken, pork xlb, chicken xlb, bbq ribs, chili oil wontons (pork and chicken), pepper angus beef, and fried rice was our order. I gotta say many of those items lacked flavor. The pan fried pork buns were fancy looking but 2 came in an order for 9 bucks and there just wasn't enough flavor in those or soup. They were very dry. The soup dumplings both pork and chicken just needed more flavor. The wontons in chili oil were good but that's because it was doused in sauce and chili oil. Woodear mushroom salad was mid, nothing special IMO. The garlic green beans were actually one of the best dishes there. The pork ribs almost had zero meat, another case of ozempic ribs. No bueno. The steamed chicken was alright. Pepper angus beef was good too, that was enjoyed throughout the table. The cucumber salad was too bland for our liking. I mean certain things were good, like everything was cooked through very well. Just the flavor was lacking in our eyes and tongues. Finally got to try this place! This took over the old Din Tai Fung since they moved inside the mall. Vibes are basically the same, "high end" dumpling spot. Located on the outer part of the Americana (definitely park at the Galleria mall since it's free and an easy walk - otherwise paid parking can get expensive). We were able to go on a non-busy day/time I guess because they seated us immediately. Shoutout to our server, Ian, for always checking up on us and recommending the good stuff! Super helpful letting us know to scan the QR for a menu with beautiful pics of each item. In the end, he also gave us coupons to use on our next visit!! I ordered the Seabass with a side of rice, absolutely delicious, melt in your mouth goodness! The flavor and sauce it was in was just perfection. Not too sweet, not too salty. We also shared a side dish of cucumber that was refreshing and perfect on a hot day. My bf got the assorted dumplings which is 1 of every flavor they offer. I wasn't very hungry at the time, otherwise I would've loved to try their Xiao long Bao as well but he enjoyed it! I've known about Paradise Dynasty for years, but never took the opportunity to try until now. My friend and I ordered the following: Xiao Long Bao (XLB) & Cheese XLB: We originally wanted to try the Specialty Dynasty XLB 8pc set, but it was way too pricey, so we settled on just the Original and Cheese XLB. The original was very standard and the taste is what you would expect. It was a good XLB. Cheese XLB: Surprisingly good! The cheese was a nice gooey texture, but recommended to eat a few as it can get heavy the more you eat it. Chilled Tofu in Soy Sauce Vinaigrette with Crispy Onion: The day was very hot, so this was a very cold and refreshing. I did prefer the vinaigrette to be more acidic for balance, but nonetheless an overall solid dish. The crispy onions on top also gave a nice textural contrast to the super soft tofu. Noodles with Scallion Oil: Noodles were cooked perfectly and the fried green onions had a nice crips. For the sauce, I did find it to be too sweet. Fried Pork Chop on Fried Rice: Super simple fried rice, and the pork chop was juicy, but felt it could've had a thicker coating of the fried layer. It was super thin, so it didn't stay crispy for too long. My overall thoughts are that the dishes all tasted pretty decent, but nothing really stood out significantly for me. My wife came on a Monday afternoon for a late lunch. They have a happy hour Monday to Friday 2:30PM to 5PM , there was no wait when we got in. The restaurant looks modern and classy. Looks clean and well maintained. We ordered the specialty xlb with 8 flavors, and it was very interesting, I would recommend anyone trying this place to order that. The pork chop was real tender and tasty. They had a special Birria XLB on the menu so we tried that as well. As someone who's had Birria Tacos, I can definitely taste it from this dish. I think their XLB is better than DTF and if ya can read that sentence than it may be all that matters to ya. I do quite like the Sichuan and garlic XLB quite a bit. I find that some of the sides are lacking (cucumber salad, rice cakes) compared to DTF. It is a nice alternative with some higher higher and some lower lows. Your milage may very, but if you like the food you should give it a try for sure. read more

You would think that my favorite thing from here would be a big menu item like their popular dumplings, which were flavorful and unique, but it was actually their radish pastry. It's a flaky pastry with the most refined radish filling! It surprised me so much. Amazing start of an appetizer to the rest of the meal. As often compared to Din Tai for their menu and funny enough, location, Paradise Dynasty just happened to take over this location after DTF vacated from it and moved over to the Galleria. We were told that their XLB (xiao long bao) soup dumplings are actually 30% bigger than DTF. Instead of just shrimp and pork, their most known or viral dish are the colorful XLB, which came in 8 unique flavors. The ones I remember are the cheddar, truffle, bbq pork, garlic, and foie gras. They were all special and stood out from the usual filling, but I think it's a try once and be satisfied thing. I also liked their black pepper angus beef dish. It was super tender and I kept bringing my chopsticks back for more. The flavoring was just right. A little umami, salted well, pepper-y sauce was coating the beef so nicely. Their panda buns are a MUST. They are chocolate filled baos with the cutest panda face stamped on top. The bao and chocolate combo was sooo satisfying. The last thing I loved was their pan fried pumpkin mochi cookies. They had the perfect chew and it was not too sweet. I loved these!! The drinks were good too, specifically the lychee martini. We tried Din Tai Fung for and early dinner at 5ish, hoping to beat the crowd. Uhh...nope. The wait was 2.5 hours on a Sunday. So we walked over to Paradise Dynasty at the Americana and were seated in under 5 minutes. We used it as a chance to compare it with our usual DTF order: cucumbers, string beans, xiao long bao and shrimp fried rice. We also added the steamed chicken since we were craving it. The xiao long bao were very solid. Delicate wrappers, equivalent flavor and actually a bit more soup than DTF, which I liked. The cucumbers looked similar but leaned heavily on garlic. It had no chili heat and could've used more salt. The shrimp fried rice was fluffy but bland AF. Needed seasoning and the shrimp were slightly smaller than DTF's. The string beans here come with minced pork. Not my favorite compared to DTF, but still tasty with good "wok hay" flavor. The surprise hit was the steamed chicken. It's prety much Hainan chicken with a great ginger scallion sauce. Simple and really well done. Shoutout to our server Sanderson! He was super personable and pointed us toward dishes like kung pao chicken and crispy sweet and sour cod for next time. Overall, Paradise Dynasty held its own. First - This establishment is CASHLESS I first tried Paradise Dynasty at a Yelp Elite event, (which was amazing). I had been obsessing over a couple of items since then and was happy to come back with a friend for lunch. We had the traditional Signature Original Xiao Long Bao, Szechuan Xiao Long Bao and Chicken Wonton In Chili Oil. The stand out for me is the Szechuan Xiao Long Bao. It was a layer of savory flavors with an almost floral finish. The red color is very appealing too. The lunch crowd midweek is very light... probably because they have an awesome happy hour menu that starts at 2pm. Let's get something straight. They don't call this restaurant Paradise for nothing. When I first came in I thought I was in a palace. The design and decor felt like I was stepping into royal hotel. The staff were extremely kind during the event as well. Only there to help with our experience. I'm not big on dumplings but they have most certainly gained my attention. I was really excited to try this new dumpling spot, especially after the long delay in opening, but it ended up being a huge disappointment. The food was honestly not good. Across the board, the quality, flavor, and overall taste were lacking, and many dishes were noticeably under-seasoned. It wasn't enjoyable on its own, and definitely doesn't hold up when compared to Din Tai Fung. The only item that was even somewhat tolerable was the chicken dumplings. I'm genuinely surprised by the positive reviews because our experience was the complete opposite. We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was only about a quarter full, which in hindsight should have been a sign. We had a reservation, but clearly didn't need one. Service was actually great, so no complaints there. But unfortunately, good service can't make up for bad food. Even the cocktails missed the mark. The dishes that are similar to Din Tai Fung were disappointing in every way, and the items that were new to me just felt like wasted calories. Their Xiao Long Baos are among the best I've eaten - silky texture, kurobata pork, filled with soup and doesn't break apart easy when picking it up. Today we had their pork stir fried noodles, garlic french string beans, original pork dumpling, bbq pork dumpling, and their limited time special Birria dumpling. My least favorite was the BBQ pork dumpling because it did not taste like char siu bao bbq which was what I was anticipating. Tasted more like American BBQ. Apparently, they're a big deal in Asia, but have had a tough time getting into the American market because DTF got here first -- but in this case, DTF bugged out to the nearby mall, and Paradise Dynasty moved into their old spot, and I've got to say, this is the better place. Nicely decorated and comfortable, with a friendly staff and lively music playing in the air. It's a more welcoming restaurant. Paradise Dynasty also has a larger, much more eclectic menu, with a lot of very clever variations on dumplings and other Chinese dishes. They have quite a few flavors of their Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), so I ordered the 8-piece Special that includes one of each: Traditional, Kimchi, Szechuan, Garlic, Crab w/Roe, Cheese, BBQ Pulled Pork and Black Truffle. Everything other than the Crab dumpling had a pork-based filling, which had a light texture that melted quickly in the mouth; the wrappers were fragile and whimsical with their different colors. The Traditional dumpling had a deep, satisfying flavor, while the Kimchi had an enjoyably funky kick from the aged cabbage (as well as a good bit of heat). By contract, the Szechuan was much milder than I expected and the numbing quality of the peppercorns took about a minute to sneak up on me. The Garlic dumpling was very tasty, while the Crab was a bit too fishy for my taste; cheese was interesting and worked far better than the BBQ Pulled Pork, which had an excellent BBQ flavor that just felt way out of place with the rest of the food (especially the Asian dipping sauces). Black Truffle was the star, and I could easily eat an entire order, which might be exactly what I do next time. My other order today was the Pork & Shrimp Wontons in Chili Oil. The filling was exceptionally flavored, and the sauce very tasty, though, again, not particularly spicy; I added some chili paste to kick it up a bit, and that did the trick. All in all, this is a terrific addition to the dumpling scene, and they have so many interesting options on the menu (including full sized beef, chicken and seafood dishes, fried rices and noodles, soups, etc) that I'm sure I'll be back soon to start working my way through. Don't wait on this place -- show it some love ASAP. read more

Great dumpling place! We just noticed Paradise took over the former Din Tai Fung and they're pretty good! We enjoyed their signature xiao long bao soup dumplings; we could actually tell the difference between all the flavors. Food came out very quick once we put the order in. All tasted great. We should have come during happy hour with lots of items 50% off. Our favorites were the signature soup dumplings, the green beans and the chilled tofu but honestly you can't go wrong with all the choices! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. It's located where the old Din Tai Fung was at the Americana. It's still very spacious inside and a lot more brighter than what it was. Marcus was our waiter and we really loved his service and knowledge on the menu. He was super attentive and helpful. Thanks Marcus! We ordered: Signature Original XLB and the Black Truffle XLB. (5/5) Both were really good! Highly recommend trying them! I heard the Crab & Roe XLB is a favorite as well. Stir Fried French Bean w/ Minced Pork (5/5) I always like a vegetable dish to pair with my meal, so opted to try this. It was a hit, and packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the small bits of pork mixed with the green beans. Korobuta Pork Wonton in Chili Oil - (3.5/5) This dish was ok, I think the chili oil had a rosy taste to it and it wasn't really a memorable dish for me. The wontons were nice and plump but I feel like something was missing in the sauce. They currently have happy hour Monday-Friday from 2:30-5:30 pm with 50% off most items off their menu! Got there about a half hour before closing and grateful that we got seated. It was still bustling and almost a full house. They told us last order was around 9:45 pm. Fortunately it didn't take us (read: me) too long to decide what to order. We got two baskets of the Specialty Dynasty XLB, radish pastry, and a bowl of snow fungus with peach resin. I enjoyed the XLB and snow fungus dessert more than the radish pastry, but everything was delicious! I loved how they gave us a guide with the order of XLB flavors to eat, starting with the original and more subtle flavor to the strongest flavor. First, I noticed the skin was perfect. Not too thin or too thick. It held well and didn't break or tear easily when I picked it up with chopsticks. The form also made it easy to bite the top, slurp the broth, and enjoy the skin and filling. My favorite flavors were the Szechuan, BBQ pork, and kimchi. What can I say; I do love bold flavors. My friend didn't really like the BBQ pork that much. His favorites were the Szechuan and crab meat with roe. For context, I ate the BBQ pork first before the crab roe because I got the two mixed up from their similar colors, and my friend followed the order on the guide ate the crab roe before the BBQ pork. The strong BBQ pork flavor really hit me, hence it became one of my favorite flavors. Service was great. A server checked in on us right before the kitchen closed in case we wanted to put in more orders. Overall, would definitely go back for the XLB. read more

Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao (4/5) A fun introduction to soup dumplings because you get a sampler of different flavors instead of committing to just one (but you definitely can order just one flavor or the classic ones, too!). Walked in with a friend and our 2-year-old (no reservation) and asked for a high chair. The restaurant was more than half empty, yet it took the manager over 10 minutes to seat us -- and she was only assisting us. No one else was waiting, which made the delay even more confusing. As soon as we sat down, the waiter informed us we had "2 minutes" left for happy hour, which felt a bit rushed and unnecessary. We ordered a mix of happy hour and regular menu items, but the service overall wasn't very welcoming or helpful. As for the food -- very underwhelming. It honestly felt like a knockoff version of Din Tai Fung (and even that isn't exactly groundbreaking). We ordered: * Vegetable wontons in chili oil * Japanese cucumber with minced garlic * Stir-fried noodles with assorted vegetables (looked dark and borderline burnt -- and barely any vegetables) * Stir-fried green beans with minced pork * Stir-fried broccoli with minced garlic * Noodles with dan dan sauce Nothing stood out. Heard that Paradise Dynasty is now having 50% off happy hour on certain dishes so came to check it out. Unfortunately we were told the day we were there was Chinese new year so no discount :( It wasn't advertised in their social media so it was very disappointing. I guess the burden is on us to confirm... can't assume what day is considered a holiday for the restaurant... Since we were already there, we ordered the signature XLB, Dan Dan noodles and taro XLB. We really liked the chewiness for the noodles. The noodles are so thing but the texture is perfect. The sauce is slight spicy and very savory and tasty. We like XLB and couldn't help but compare it to Din Tai Fung's. The flavor is on par with DTF, but we found the wrapper tear much easier. The taro XLB is not too sweet and a nice ending to the afternoon snack. The decor is dark and sophisticated but at the same time it's relaxing. The server was courteous and attentive. read more
