I've been seeing photos of their colorful XLBs and had to stop by for dinner with friends. Reservation was easy to book on a Friday night. Here's what our table ordered: Japanese Cucumber with Minced Garlic Specialty Dynasty XLB (8 pcs) Garlic XLB (6 pcs) Noodle with Dan Dan Sauce (spicy sesame and peanut) Fried Pork Chop (appetizer) x 2 Stir Fried French String Bean with Minced Pork Signature Milk Tea, Black Signature Milk Tea, Green Alcohol Overall the flavor was mild. Of course we're going to compare to DTF and if I have to compare, I still prefer DTF over Paradise Dynasty. I liked Noodle with Dan Dan Sauce best out of all the things I've tried. I thought Signature Milk Tea, Green is going to be green milk tea but it was actually more of a matcha milk tea. This is a big location and can seat many customers, perhaps that is why the wait isn't too bad. You have to walk a bit from parking structure. Staffs are friendly. I first tried Paradise Dynasty at Food Bowl and thought their XLBs were pretty good, albeit I only tried 3 flavors. It was definitely on my list to visit when I saw they were opening up a location much closer to me (compared to the OC location). Overall Paradise Dynasty is a 3 for me because it's unlikely I return, but don't want to rate it 3 since I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the food, just not for me. We ordered a few longs of the 8-color XLB, pork chop fried rice, the pan-fried buns, and the lava egg yolk XLBs, basically our Din Tai Fung order. While the flavor of the XLBs and buns aren't bad... they are WAY too oily. The soup inside is like maybe 50/50 or higher ratio of oil to soup, unlike DTFs which is primarily soup. I started feeling a bit nauseated after ~6 XLBs. Most of the flavors were interesting, the cheese was slightly off-putting at first and the BBQ pork was unfortunately American BBQ pork, not charsiu BBQ pork. That said, everything was decent value $20 for the 8-color XLB, similar prices to DTF. Came here for an office lunch, thinking this place would be a great alternative to Din Tai Fung. I was sadly mistaken. Paradise Dynasty doesn't have bad food, but for an average sized dish with average flavor, the prices are definitely not justified by the dishes. We had the rainbow dumplings, green bean, kung pao chicken, fried porkchop fried rice, pork buns and the rice cake stir fry. All of the dishes were small, like just enough for a party of 6 to get a taste of each dish. The service was good and the space is definitely beautiful but the food doesn't live up to the service and vibes. They also do not validate for parking, so definitely stop by somewhere that does if you are planning to dine here. I'm very surprised at the ratings on Yelp. This was the Panda Express of Din Tai Fung. I should have known when I walked in, it was empty while Din Tai had a 3.5 hour waitlist. You could taste the low quality in every bite. You know that terrible after taste of oil? And to say it's the Din Tai of Orange County? The Dan Dan Noodles did not contain peanuts as indicated on the menu and was swimming in too much watery sesame sauce. Similar was the Pan Fried Shanghai Rice Cakes which was also swimming in sauce. Kim Chee Soup Dumplings barely had any Kim chee flavor in it, just cabbage with the ground pork. Portion size of the String Beans looked like a joke, about 5 beans per person for a party of 3. Service was good, and loved the decor. I tell people Paradise Dynasty is so much better than Din Tai Fung in the U.S., but after this meal, and at $50 per person all in for lunch, as Uncle Roger would say, "Ai ya!" read more

We checked out Paradise Dynasty in Glendale and had a mixed but overall pleasant experience. The Specialty Dynasty Xiao Long Bao were definitely the highlight -- very delicious with flavorful broth. The Dan Dan noodles were very good and nicely spicy, and the Ma Po Tofu was tasty and satisfying. The fried rice with pork chop was solid. A couple dishes didn't quite work for us. The steamed chicken was a bit dry and tough, and the panda chocolate lava bun was just okay -- more like hot cocoa mix than rich chocolate. Service was on the slower side during our visit, though staff were polite. FYI: They do not currently provide parking validation so try to get your valet ticket handled at Nordstrom or Apple Store. Kimchi - I mean, I wouldn't order it again, but it probably my 2nd choice out of the lot. Garlic cucumber salad - nice but could use some chili oil, frankly. It's also pretty sweet, so not as effective as a refreshing palette cleanser as I wanted it to be. Sweet & sour BBQ pork ribs - sweet for sure. I didn't get any sour. These were by far the best part of the various foods we ordered. Singapore Sling - fruity, tasty. The menu says it's strong but it didn't taste strong. Basically a nice fruit punch. The vibe is upscale looking, but really it's a very casual but expensive place. This si due to the location attached to the Americana, surely, but given the plethora of other nice restaurants both in the Americana and within a block of it, I wouldn't say those prices matched the quality. The menu consisted of colorful XLB with unique flavors like cheese and kimchi, in addition to more traditional Asian cuisine like Dan Dan Noodles and Beef Noodle Soup. What makes Paradise Dynasty unique is its globally flavored xlb followed by its radish pastry. The colorful xlb is a fun thing to do but flavor it worth the hype. Some are pretty good, some one is good but you wouldn't want a batch, and some are pretty rough to eat (esp that bbq pork one. The traditional xlb is solid though - good wrapping and lots of soup filling. Radish pastry was pretty good texture and fine flavor Spicy wontons were decent but lacks a bit of flavor vs DTF Other standouts are the regular wonton soup and the green beans. Save yourself the trip and go to DTF. Their multicolored xlb are great for the pictures and that's about it. They give you a little cute placard that tells you to eat the shelling bow in a specific order, except the joke is that each bite gets progressively worse in flavor. The first one starts with original, which is fine, then move onto garlic, which is just very garlicky and OK, then clockwise it moves to cheese, which taste like single Kraft cheese, wrapped in dough, which is slightly disgusting, but bearable, and then you move onto worse and worse flavors, all wrapped in a piece of dough as if that makes it better. By the last half of the circle I was spitting out pieces into my napkin and the second to last one so disgusting. I had to run to the bathroom. Their sweet dishes, such as the shrimp and walnut dish tends to lean on the heavier sweet end, so I would prefer the panda express version of the dish. However, I will say the highlight of the meal is their cold tofu appetizer. That was phenomenal and I would definitely eat just that. Although their cucumber dish was not as delicious as DTF's, I was relieved to see that it was refreshing and delicious compared to the rest of the meal. Two words, rainbow dumplings! Ever since these colorful Xiao long baos made it on to my social media feed, I have been so curious to try the dumpling flight for ages! Unfortunately, the nearest location was in the OC by Costa Mesa. Luckily, they are now open at the Glendale Galleria! I took my family and we celebrated and indulged in a delicious feast! The vibes are nice; they have a little bar area towards the back, and there's a large window where you can watch the chefs make xlb in the kitchen. My favorite xlb from the flight was the truffle and cheese! The pork fried rice, sea bass and walnut shrimp were my favorite entrees. The mango pudding was my favorite dessert! The service was good overall, but got a bit slow towards the end. Took a while till we finally received our takeout boxes! We went to Paradise Dynasty in Glendale with high expectations based on our great experiences at the Costa Mesa location - unfortunately, this visit fell far short and was honestly pretty embarrassing since we had hyped it up to the people we came with. The restaurant is located in The Americana at Brand, which is convenient and lively, with parking available in the Americana parking structures. However, the space itself felt uninspired - it honestly looked like they simply took over Din Tai Fung's old location without adding anything special or unique to make it feel like Paradise Dynasty. Even though we had reservations for 4:30, we still waited about 20-25 minutes to be seated. We were told they were down a server, which already set the tone for the rest of the night. Service issues continued throughout the meal. I ordered a Lychee Kiss cocktail, but it never arrived. After our food came out, we asked the server about it - he said he'd check with the bar and never came back with an update. Fast forward to the end of the meal... the drink was still on the bill. We had to point it out again, at which point he said it was "probably ready at the bar" and removed it. No explanation, no apology, no comp - nothing. It was extremely frustrating. And then... the final straw: they ran out of hot chili oil. The server told us this casually, leaving us with just plain oil. How does a dumpling restaurant run out of chili oil? This alone was shocking. The food itself was okay, but with all the service issues and delays, it honestly made everything less enjoyable. A big downgrade from Costa Mesa was also the menu. The Costa Mesa location had photos for each dish, which made ordering easy and exciting. Here, there were no photos on the menu, and you had to scan a link to see them -- very inconvenient, especially for first-time diners. Both their businesses center around dumplings, with additional offerings. So let's talk about Paradise Dynasty. They started out in Orange County and recently moved into Los Angeles. Let me say thank you, we have been waiting for you. I saw this outpost at Changi Airport, when I was in Singapore on a layover, but did not have time to visit. This LA outpost debut is located at Rick Caruso's stunning mall complex, the Americana at Glendale. The dining space is expansive. The service is extremely friendly. (I think they know what the competition is). The signature dish at Paradise, is the 8 International Flavored Xiao Long Bao. They claim it to be the world's first. It is a must get. Superb.l What is attractive in this soup dumpling presentation is, that they all have different colors and they all have distinct flavors. Magnetic optics. You are supplied with a small cheat sheet to tell you what is in each of the dumplings, the flavor to expect and which order to eat them. This part of marketing, is brilliant. And yes, each and every dumpling, was dynamite. But they don't instruct you how to eat a soup dumpling. Punch the whole, suck up the soup, etc. Also, on the table there are two small stainless steel pour containers. What is inside? There's no labeling. I had to ask. ...one is vinegar, one was soy sauce. So what else do you order when you are here? The menu is extensive, numerous choices, so hard to decide. All look so good. Have to come back, it is already in the works. After much debate, I went for their green beans with pork, wishing subconsciously to compare, the green beans that one gets at Din Tai Fung. I m super happy to see Paradise Dynasty in Glendale. This location was smaller than the one in South Coast plaza. I have been to the one in South Coast a few times and have always enjoyed the foods. The 8 flavors XLB were so good. I have been craving their XLB so decided to order for Togo. I placed two orders of the XLB and 2 orders of the fried rice with pork. Of course the XLB would taste better if we dined in. However, Togo was not bad at all. The XLB didn't dry out. Every piece was packed with flavors. We all enjoyed it so much and wanted more. The portion for the fried rice was small. It was very good tho. Even the fried rice was packed with flavors lol loved the rice that they used. Glad they didn't put so much of the green onions. First time to try this with my hubby after reading some yelp reviews. The food was good, I just took a star off since the pork chop was not that crispy. But the rest was good, we especially enjoyed the original XLB and the warm and courteous service. Ellan is friendly and warm which made the dining experience special. Because of course, when dining out, customer service counts a lot aside from the food. The ambiance is nice and welcoming. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Our party of 5 decided to dine at Paradise Dynasty to try out their Birria XLB crossover with Burritos La Palma. This visit was my first time at the restaurant, and I came out with an overall great impression of the place. Since the crossover item launched today (5/11/26), I didn't know what to expect other than it should be decent since I like XLB and birria, separately. The end result was flavorful, and it was a positive experience for me. Their garlic XLB also stood out to me as the garlic aroma enhances it just enough to make me want to get this over the regular XLB for my future visits! The most surprising item from the evening was the Radish Pastry! The radish filling was warm and soft, yet the pastry shell was extremely flaky, to a point where I can't think of anywhere in the US that serves something of similar caliber! Last but not least, shout out to our server Michael, he was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs, and his excellence was the icing on the cake for the entire dining experience this evening at Paradise Dynasty for our group! From reading the reviews, I'm going to assume there are incentives to leaving a 5 star review for the servers. I'm sure service is great, this is for food only and take out experience. For roughly $70 of food (and that's with a $12 credit on DoorDash pickup), everything lack flavor and wow factor that I was expecting. Ordered the Specialty Dynasty nothing really stood out to me. The pulled pork was probably my favorite if I had to choose, the girlfriend said kimchi but not enough to have a whole order of them. Chicken wontons in chili oil and poached veg+chx dumplings were also nothing special. I did enjoy the wood ear mushrooms and the sweet and sour baby back ribs, but unfortunately, I don't think they are better than their competitor Din Tai Fung. During the pick up, worker was on the phone, no biggie, and when I said I was picking up he handed me the order. I stepped to the side to let him finish his phone call, he put them on hold and then helped me. I had asked if I can have extra chili oil, was told all they have is sriracha and I said I guess that's fine give me like 5, then he said oh I found three chili oils, I said great that's awesome you're awesome, and then he goes "u good?" And I didn't hear him I guess and he asked again louder slightly more aggressive," u good?!" Our server Bryan was super nice and added nice touches to make our visit so special! We just popped in for happy hour which is an amazing deal. Most of the popular items included their signature XLB was half off!! I wanted oolong tea and my husband wanted jasmine so I caved and said ok Jasmine is fine. But Bryan surprised us and brought two pots because he heard the quick exchange between my husband and I. That was super nice and thoughtful. We ordered three steam baskets of XLB and some poached dumplings and the chili wontons. So pleased with every one. Bryan came back after the food quickly came out and said let me know what you think we can switch it out of something doesn't hit the mark! What a gesture but it was all good. Tried Paradise Dynasty and the colorful xiao long bao sampler was ok -- not all flavors were good but they were juicy and well made. We also ordered the cucumber which did not have much flavor. My favorite dish was definitely the wontons in chili oil. The restaurant was lively and a bit busy, but service was friendly. I was pleasantly surprised by Paradise Dynasty. I really didn't know anything about it - I appreciated being able to read some of the articles written about it on the wall once we entered. Our waiter Ian was so wonderful - he guided us very well through the menu. We ended up ordering the regular Xiao Long Bao, some cucumbers and the Shanghai rice cakes. Everything was delicious - especially he Xiao Long Bao. The skin was so thin and the broth inside was so flavorful and rich. The filling was perfect. The Shanghai rice cakes dish was quite saucy and had a homemade taste to it. Terrific service and terrific food - all in all a really successful lunch! read more
