I grew up in La Crescenta and tried Cibo Thai for the first time today - pleasantly surprised. I was craving Tom Yum Soup so I got the Tom Yum Noodle Soup with tofu and it was delicious - I love lemongrass but it's not for everyone. My friend got the Pad See Ew with chicken which was also yummy! Overall, I'd stop by if you're in the area and craving Thai food. The lady who served us (I believe she's the owner) was the sweetest and gave us recommendations! I would say there aren't many workers so don't dine in if you're in a rush :) The interior was very homey and cute - I would definitely come back to satisfy my cravings.

There was only one waitress handling the dining room, and she did not miss a beat. She was attentive, efficient, and kept everything moving even as the restaurant quickly filled up. The restaurant is polished and exceptionally clean, with a soft, comfortable ambiance that works equally well for a romantic dinner or a family meal. It was quiet when we first arrived, but before long it transformed into a vibrant, bustling neighborhood spot. Everything we ordered was delicious. The Gai Wings were flavorful, moist on the inside, and perfectly crispy on the outside. The Lemongrass Soup was bright and slightly herbal with a refreshing hint of lemon. The Pad See-U had that wonderful savory, slightly sweet soy sauce flavor, and the Sautéed Eggplant was soft and silky with a savory, garlicky flavor and just a touch of sweetness. We enjoyed it all with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, which made an already great meal even better. Wonderful food, warm atmosphere, and impressive service. Highly recommend the Papaya Salad (medium heat is perfect), Gold Rush (chicken potstickers), Fresh Rolls (crunchy jicama, tofu & fresh greens), Suki Dry (rice noodles with shrimp & veggies), and the Sautéed Eggplant with tofu. Their Mint Pomegranate Sparkling refresher is the perfect complement to the meal. Parking tip: bring plenty of quarters. The yellow curry itself tasted good, the onions decent (a few outer layer slices were in but no big deal), Tofu was good too, HOWEVER! Carrots and Potatoes in it had a sour taste to it like when vegetables are going off. I didn't complain because of the high rating on Yelp, I thought 'well maybe in Thailand they use picked vegetables and they pickle the potatoes and carrots' (trying to keep an open mind), however I just check on Google and it says "Traditional Thai yellow curry--and standard Thai, Indian, or Japanese curries in general--never use fermented or pickled potatoes and carrots." This means they gave me old stuff, and I'm paying close to $20 for this. Yes it was a big bowl of curry but I wouldn't of thought a place with 4.6 rating would give me old veggies. Disappointing!! Please date your vegetables for freshness or it's disrespectful and dangerous to a paying customer!
