Bluefish is honestly my go-to at this point. I've been there a bunch of times and every single time I've gone, I've enjoyed it. Like, I don't even second guess it anymore when I'm deciding where to eat. The food is just consistently good, which is rare. I've tried a few different things and nothing's been disappointing. It's one of those places where you know what you're getting and it's always solid. The vibe is chill too, not too loud or stressful, just a good spot to actually sit and enjoy your food. And the service has always been good whenever I've gone, no issues there. Overall it's just become my regular spot without me even really planning it that way. You do good business and have loyal customers but your rates are ridiculous for the waning quality. My total should not come to over $70 (before I tipped; but, why should I feel obligated to give-away money for a WALK-IN-TO-GO order?) I can no longer recommend Blue Fish as a priority Sushi spot: the quality of the food is no longer top-notch and the prices for that waning produce are a tad insulting. About 5 course meal if I"m remembering correctly including appetizers, miso soup, and desert along with nigiri sushi. I thought the fish quality was excellent. Very soft with no fishy smell. The restaurant is very clean with a comfortable, enjoyable ambiance. You can sit inside or outside, both are great options. The service is excellent. Unlike many places, the staff doesn't interrupt with unnecessary questions while you're trying to enjoy your meal, which I really appreciate. We came here for early lunch and ordered a few items on the menu. -Karage - it was okay. Pieces were big which was nice but there were some fatty pieces and little meat. I wasn't too big of a fan of the sauce either. - Ramen - broth and noodles flavors were good, but the egg was completely wrong and didn't have the umami flavors. It was just a hard boiled egg, which was disappointing. But my son really enjoyed the ramen and says he wants to come back for the ramen. - Caterpillar roll - mediocre rolls, that are a bit more on the smaller side. Flavor was fine, it was to be expected. - Beef bento box - also just ok. There were only about 3-4 pieces of beef, and most of it was vegetables. Nothing special. I stopped going here cause I noticed I only get stomach pain and diarrhea after eating sushi from Blue Fish. After a 7 year break, I got talked into coming back and honestly nothing has changed. Please avoid this restaurant. It used to be our go to sushi spot. We are creatures of habit and order the same thing every time. Our roll came out burnt. We shared this and we were told that is only the mayonnaise that is burnt. We asked for a new one and were told no. They can make a new one (we even offered to pay for a new one) and they said it might not cook. After, we said please take it away, I was told why am I giving him attitude. I mean honestly, we used to be loyal customers. Now we will never go back here. Jay Choi should be ashamed of himself for this kind of quality of food and service. The funny thing is the burnt roll we had was still raw on the perimeter of the fish. They obviously cooked it too hot and tried to pass it off. I can understand mistakes. Own up to it and move on. The highlights of the meal were the ozzu salmon, spicy edamame, and shishito peppers. Those three items were genuinely enjoyable and had a nice balance of flavor and texture. Unfortunately, the rest of the menu items we tried just didn't hit the mark. This feels like a "one-stop shop" for me -- glad I tried it once, but not rushing to return. The nabeyaki udon soup base was essentially soy sauce and the broccoli , onion, and bell peppers were an interesting choice of vegetables, not to be found in an authentic nabeyaki udon. They never brought his red dragon roll. I was finished with my meal. I flagged someone down and told them that my husband never received his roll. They left and came back and said that he had ordered the roll, but that the order was never turned in. At that point, my husband requested the roll to go. We also asked for a California roll to go. We waited 10 minutes more and still no roll. It was not expedited (when it should have been) and it was still on the bill. This ruined my husband's dinner. It still wasn't ready. He asked them to remove the roll from the bill. The California roll was ready, but the red dragon roll still wasn't ready, so my husband paid and we left. read more
