If you are into sushi burritos definitely come try this place! The sushi burritos are so good, even the other sushi options they have. I also tried the Kimchi Fried Rice and it was so good!! If you like eel, I recommend the Fire Eel Sushi Burrito! It is so flavorful and even though the burrito looks small, it definitely fills you up! The kimchi fried rice was salty and spicy. It wasn't too salty or spicy - it was perfect! Definitely recommend this restaurant and will be coming back!! Parking is good and not too hard to find parking. They also take phone online orders and not just from their website.

sushi is super fresh and slightly chilled for a refreshing experience. I got the T rex (spicy tuna, albacore, salmon, smelt egg, avocado, cucumber). you can choose between 4-6oz of rice, and the burrito comes absolutely packed with fish. great price for the size and quality!

This is the best sushi burrito restaurant in the Glendale / Los Angeles area! I've been a fan of Kimbob Sushi Rex's menu items since their food truck days and now that they have an actual physical restaurant, I'm happy to see that their business is progressing to greater heights. The owners are very nice and hardworking, as I can tell that they put a lot of love and effort into preparing the food for customers. My go-to orders are usually the Big Fat Alaskan or spicy lobster sushi burrito and kimchi Spam musubi. I try to make stop here to pick up dinner because it's on the way home, and their service has been impeccable so far. In fact, I just picked up some sushi burritos and musubis tonight! Support your local restaurants and try out Sushi Rex!

What a find! Lovely Husband-Wife team preparing the best quality Sushi in rolls and bowls. So sweet and polite service. It is all good here and rivals Sushi Bars that are twice or three times the price.

The generously portioned Dragon Roll actually looks like a stunning dragon!

My girlfriend and I had to run an errand nearby and accidentally went into a parking lot where we saw this restaurant hidden away in the corner. We decided to give it a try and ended up being extremely impressed with the entire experience. The decor is very inviting, and the food was excellent. One of the things I ordered was a dragon roll, which actually was prepared to look like a stunning dragon, the eel piece they used for the dish was a very generous size, and most importantly the taste was wonderful. The owner and staff were very ingratiating as well. We will definitely come back.

I've honestly never been amazed by sushi burritos. They are typically overloaded with cheap ingredients and spicy mayo, and are not well proportioned to really allow the fresh fish to shine. This place changed my mind. I liked the sashimi rex. There were large, fresh cuts of sashimi, and a bit of rice-- not too much. The dipping sauce reminded me of the salad dressing you get at Korean restaurants, sometimes. Soy and chili sauce based, with a tiny bit of texture to elevate it. I would come back.

Musubu with cheese. SO GOOD! We also had a jalapeño bomb and the if you dare roll. Everything was great and they are super friendly Can't wait to go back.

Been here a couple times and it's pretty good. Service is very nice and this appears to be a family run business. I really am hoping for its success. The prices seem a bit high for the amount of food, but that is thanks to our liberal state government. If you are looking for a sushi dinner, and don't want to travel far, this is def a place to try. You can eat here or do takeaway. Ordering is at the counter. There are about 5 tables inside, but they have never been packed

I…read moreremembered that someone recommending Haruka while I somewhere nearby and decided to head there. Located in a small plaza, Haruka is a neighborhood favorite, and I can see why. The interior has a modern aesthetic and even on a Wednesday evening, it was packed with a wait. We didn't have to wait too long, but as we ate and had dinner I noticed that it was full consistently. We sat down and they have have a wide array of items on their menu. We went with 3 dinner specials which have a small options (one has tempura, another with a California Roll. and one with Both) safe to we ordered one of each. For Apps we got some Edamame and Kaarage. For Rolls, we went with Rainbow Roll and Catapillar Roll. Starting with apps, the edamame to me was good a touch less salt which was great for my father. The karaage was flavorful with that sesame taste and juicy interiror. To me it was rather small compared to what I am used to, but flavor wise on par. The Rainbow roll is a staple anywhere I go for the first time as that gives me the array of fish with a California roll. The fish was fresh tasting and to me was fine. My slight disappointment was with the Caterpillar Roll, my parents just returned from Japan and the first thing they compared the roll to was what they experienced over there. Not a fair comparison, but none the less I am posting it here as refence as I see the same in surrounding restuarants here. The dinner special comes with Miso Soup, Salad, Protein of choice, and a choice of side (tempura, California Roll, or both). We each got one of the combinations. The Chicken Teriyaki was juicy and good compared to what I normally get from similar restaurants. Overall, a good choice if your simply looking for something balanced. What won me over, was the service. The place was packed and the staff and manager were out there doing what they can, but I didn't hear a single complaint around the restaurant. Not about the wait times, nor the food, and that matters. A small interaction that I happened to pick up, was one of the staff helping an elderly gentleman put on his coat. A small gesture but to me means the world. If they can take a second to do that for him, they really care about your experience. As a local favorite, I can highly recommend this place not just that the food is good, but because service tipped my scale. Mind the place was packed and smiles all around from everyone. I will be back if I am around, I am so glad I was able to finally check this one off my list!

This review is for the restaurant aspect of Sake; I understand this location presents more as a trendy lounge during certain times during the week; this review does not address this aspect. Our family came during the busy Montrose Arts Festival, having the Bento Box ($23), complete with spicy tuna, teriyaki salmon, soup, salad, and tempura shrimp, the baked BSCR ($17) and Tokyo Sunset ($19) rolls, and a K5 Paitan Pork Ramen ($14.50). The sushi rich but quite heavy on the mayo and sauce, the bento box varied with the only standout being the salmon teriyaki with a nice crust, and the ramen was a big hit with the kids. We finished with a Raspberry Macaron Ice Cream from the front freezer, which was tangy but frozen quite solid; it would benefit from a few minutes to thaw or the freezer temperature lowered by a few degrees. The inside is fashionable and clean. The staff was friendly and prompt, with our food arriving after 15-20 minutes. Prices are reasonable. Overall, Sake is a reliable and respectable sushi place worth a visit if you're craving Japanese in the Montrose area. Not unique enough to warrant a detour, but a solid, reliable local spot that won't disappoint. Food: 4/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 4/5 Value: 4/5

I had the filet and chicken combination, with chicken liver as my appetizer. Overall, everything was good. The chicken liver was surprisingly good, especially considering it was only my second time ever having it. The dinner presentation was nice, as always. A bit cheesy, but entertaining. Service was somewhat lacking. I asked for water twice and never received it, and eventually had to flag down a server from another table. We also requested to-go containers and never received those either. I will mention something that did not affect my rating, since I understand this is simply how the restaurant operates. If your party is not large enough to fill a station, you will share a table with another group. As I mentioned, the family seated with us had two small children, one of whom cried for most of the meal. As anyone knows, the sound of a crying child can be quite piercing and obnoxious, so it is just something to keep in mind. All in all, it was still a fun experience, and we will definitely be back.

As soon as we were seated, I asked if I could place our order while we waited for the rest of our party, since I already knew what we wanted. The server said no--we had to wait until everyone arrived. Fair enough. Our friends arrived about five minutes later, but it still took about 15 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. The restaurant is small, and there were only about three other tables with customers, all of which were already eating. Thirty minutes after ordering, we still hadn't received a single item. My friend suspected they were fulfilling online orders first, so I went up to ask how much longer it would be. The response: another 30 minutes. At that point, after already waiting 45 minutes, we decided to leave. If the kitchen was that backed up, why not let us know? Why refuse to take the order when I first asked? Or at least warn us that the wait would be over 45 minutes? The food is good, but not worth that level of disregard for customers who are physically sitting in the restaurant. My friend later told me she's had issues with their customer service in the past as well. This was very disappointing, and we'll be choosing other ramen places from now on. It really seems like they're understaffed for the amount of dine-in and online orders they're trying to handle. Another person in the kitchen might make a huge difference.
