Want to order THE T2? It might not be on the screen, but it's on the menu. MENU This is a little confusing. It's difficult to tell what's going on with the key. C1 means there is crab AND vegetables? The only vegetarian one is V(vegetable)1(vegetables). The back of the menu has a system you can figure out. The letter/number code is probably for order taking and the kitchen. The food is great and fresh. We have visited twice, but it took way too long for the food to be ready. We just waited 50 minutes for a pick up order for one yellowtail roll, Edamame and spicy tuna. That is unreasonable... read more

We love this food truck! Not only is the owner so kind and friendly, but he also makes the best sushi burritos. Our favorites are the T-Rex and Phoenix sushi burritos, and we also love the Golden Balls (crab and avocado balls that are lightly fried and topped with eel sauce and spicy mayo). Stopped by for dinner and decided to share a burrito. I think we may have caught them on a bad day because it took them over 20 min to make the burrito...but I get it things happen and luckily we weren't in any rush or anything. Strictly in terms of taste and quality, I can see why so many folks like this place. Food tasted very clean, fresh, and well put together. In terms of portion and price, I do think it's a little on the expensive side, but thats just my personal evaluation. I usually prefer like a poke bowl but this was nice change of pace. Something unique and different. If you like sushi and want to experience sushi in a different way, I do think this place is worth the visit. If you are not that into something different, this place might be a stretch for you but I think you'll still enjoy the food. read more

LOOOOVE their food!! It has been a hot minute since I've actually gone to the Granada Hills Grubfest but this food truck was definitely one of my go-tos. I would always get their lobster burrito which is basically just a giant lobster roll! The sauce it comes with is a sweet, kind of teriyaki sauce, that goes so well with this item. They do take a bit of time to make and sometimes they run out of lobster for the day since it's a popular item but it is so good. Highly recommend trying this business!! Service is great and they are the sweetest. They're always at the Granada Hills Grubfest which is also known as Food Truck Row every Friday on Zelzah and Chatsworth. Tons of trucks out there but this one is worth a try if you're into sushi! They also update their Instagram if they won't be at their spot for the night due to whatever last minute stuff is happening. Very convenient! Highly recommend taking it home or eating in the car because there are no seats out here unless you get lucky to sit on a random front window of a shop or don't mind the floor. Pricing is comparable to most places "premium rolls" and Kimbobs burritos are easy 2x the size of a premium rolls from any other place. I had this for dinner last night. My first time eating a sushi burrito, and I will say it was good. I got the T3 which is in the picture. Like I said the burrito was good and it was new for me. A few things, if you're in a hurry it is not my first suggestion. I felt service was slow for a food truck. The design of the truck and atmosphere was fine. It's a good truck. I feel they are short on the wasabi and soy sauce. You have to ask for extra to get more than one packet. So, why I go with 4 stars? Because it's a great idea. Sushi Rex is my new favorite local restaurant. I'm usually kind of a sushi purist and the idea of a "sushi burrito" isn't super appealing. I first went to Sushi Rex with a chef friend visiting from Japan. She loves fusion food and wanted to indulge in some "California sushi". We ordered several sushi burritos one night and each one was delicious! My fave so far is the shrimp green burrito, but the T-Rex and the Fire Eel are both delicious as well. I have not yet tried anything that includes cream cheese - I still have standards! Not only is the sushi very good - fresh fish and tasty combinations - the people working there (and the owner?) are really, really nice. This is a great local find. Give it a try! read more

I appreciated the easy parking lot, coming from dealing with parking and meters in the DTLA area. As soon as we walked in, the people working behind the counter greeted us with huge smiles and superb customer service. I'm not even being dramatic, they really were extremely nice. There's tables and chairs for you to sit both indoor and out. I got miso soup and the Spicy Sushi Rex Burrito and OMG it was soooo good! The flavors were smoky and the fish was delightfully fresh. This place is soooooo good. Everything I've tried on the menu so far has been 5 stars! I highly recommend the Best Friend and the Champion sushi burrito. You can't complain about the price being too high because you get what you pay for - the sushi burritos are packed with "meat" and other ingredients (it's not all rice). The quality of the sushi is good, too. I met the owners and every time they have been so nice, friendly, and courteous. They even remembered me when I came back. My only thought was that the pieces of fish could be more sushi size or sashimi size instead of the big chunks that we got. All of it - GREAT. Took my kids for a quick dinner and they really enjoyed what we ordered. Service was so sweet, fast, friendly, they treated us like we were family. They even gave us some complimentary edamame to munch on while we waited! We had the udon, a California roll, an avocado roll, and spicy tuna crispy rice. All of it was very fresh and affordable. My kids ate up the udon and loved the crispy onions and tempura that came with it. The inside was clean and modern with a couple tables, and there is a small front patio for outdoor dining. It's a mom and pop shop in the best way. You can tell they put love in every aspect of the customer experience. The service was delightful, but because it seems everything is made to order, you might want to text your order in ahead if you're in a hurry. FRESH MADE KIMBOP! Maybe the best we've had. Today we went in for a Royal Lobster Burrito. I would recommended it. It's a good serving, we ended up sharing it. The owners are very welcoming, you can see them working hard making their orders. When we got there, there was a big phone order before ours, they were able to still get our order out under 10 min. We also had the miso soup. I will be back with my kids since they love miso soup. My sister and I ordered 2 sushi burritos, 1 special spicy roll and 2 golden balls-- just for us two. The order took over 20mins but while we waited we were given ginger tea and miso soup to sample. Both delicious. When initially ordered the lady at the cashier told us we ordered TOO MUCH FOR JUST US. We just laughed it off. Little did she know that we were both famished after traveling to and from Duarte. We bodied that sushi. It was delicious! 100/10 I still dream of eating that roll. Just discovered this new spot last night... and besides the food... the outdoor table gives me the opportunity to have my little 80 pound monster with me and enjoy a great meal! Love love love the T Rex, the Lobster Roll, and the Phoenix. Very fresh and the sauces that come with the burrito add a great kick elevating the palette and flavor. So happy to have found this as it will become a repeat favorite for me. The size of the burrito is like having the equivalent of 2 sushi rolls. From my experience, 2 standard sushi rolls would cost about $14 each for a total of $28. I paid $17 for the burrito which made me feel like I got a great value! I added the seaweed salad which was fresh and a great compliment to my meal. Really happy to have this now in my neighborhood! The best sushi burrito place in the area. Their interesting creations and mix of different cultural foods is always a pleasure to try (the shrimp and salmon tacos are beyond fantastic). The owners Helen and her husband are the sweetest most dedicated to their craft and it definitely shows through their food. If you have the chance to sit in and eat I highly encourage it, Helen's customer service is absolutely fantastic. Overall this space is a hidden gem. Seriously Five Stars! How did I even pass this truck up so many times? I drove by it a couple of times on Victory and Buena Vista (in front of Ralphs) and decided to try it one day. Food: I am going to keep it short. Food is EPIC! Just check out their Yelp reviews they ain't lying. I especially love their "Golden Balls" fried on the outside (but not oily) and rice, crab meat and avocado on the inside! YUMMMMM. They also have jalapeno boms and spicy tuna on crispy rice. We have also had their sushi burritos and they are very filing and very flavorful! Their sushi is fresh and melts in your mouth. My favorite is the T-Rex and their Sushi Rex. All their food is $ to $$ money signs. Customer Service: They do take a little longer but you can't rush great food. It ain't no Mc Donalds lol. They have two people working so be patient!
