Wow! Just spent three nights in the Sierra and was craving Asian food. This came up on Yelp so we decided to give it a try! Sooooo glad we did. Some of us had the munch special and some of us had the main dishes. All portions were large, fresh, delicious, and presented well. We ordered two vegetarian dishes and literally could not stop eating them. We will definitely be stopping in here every time we travel through Bishop. One last note on the service. I had a bad experience on the last night of our vacation. . I wanted to order the egg rolls but when I asked what kind, I was told pork. I made a comment about how I wanted vegetable ones. Server said nothing. I later asked a few more questions about the dishes but everything I asked for was a no. Example: I asked if the Kung Pao had watercress. "No". That's ok I thought. I asked if the cashew chicken had green onion in it. "No". Everything was a no. I made a comment about being picky I guess. My husband ordered the sesame beef and we both ordered the shrimp fried rice. I didn't order anything else because I got a bad vibe but my husband was embarrassed and I got upset and I left. I came on this site and noticed that the egg rolls are vegetable egg rolls so I called to confirm. Menus change? Who knows? I was told on the phone that they have beef rolls- quantity of 2 or vegetable egg rolls- quantity of 4. What the ????? Horrible service. I will never set a foot in this place. How hard is to say, we can add green onion for a small charge? How hard is it to repeat yourself if your customer is having trouble understanding you? My parents are not native English speakers and speak with a broken accent. IDGAF. But to be rude and condescending with your customers is just wrong. You know who you are, "Asian man with a ponytail and a small limp or funny walk. Get another job or stay in the kitchen, you are hurting your business. My husband and I were visiting for a day trip and we decided to have dinner from here. We ordered the General Tso's Chicken and the Chicken Fried rice. I am not kidding when I say that this is THE BEST Chinese food I have ever had in my life! They pack so much flavor into their food. In my experience, a lot of places tend to ignore the fried rice and it tends to be bland. If we ever make it back to Bishop, we definitely seek out dinner here again! Also, the staff was very kind and courteous, even when some entitled douche bag dude was being condescending as hell to them. The service here was amazing. The food comes out extremely quick. They often check on you and fill up your water. My boyfriend had the teriyaki beef kebab and they even came by to clear his skewer sticks as he was eating. It's really impressive how attentive they are. My only note as a vegetarian, is that the egg drop and corn soup does have meat in it (the hot and sour soup is meat free!), so it would be nice if they noted that on the menu. I had to switch soups with my boyfriend since he eats meat. The vegetable egg rolls were really good and decent size. I like the sauce they come with too. I got mapo tofu as my meal, which I appreciate that they have a vegetarian option because other places often have this in the vegetable section but then you order it and there's pork or something in it. Their menu specifically has one that comes with pork and one that doesn't. I do wish it automatically came with rice and you didn't have to order the rice as a side, but these are just little critiques. I honestly loved the food, service and ambiance. Lastly, I like the bathroom sink (I'm a sucker for nice elements in a bathroom). Great option in Bishop! read more

My boyfriend and I have driven past this Chinese restaurant a dozen times on our drive to Mammoth and this time we decided to stop and enjoy a meal. The restaurant is spacious and decorated in traditional Chinese style decor. There was no wait and we were greeted immediately. Once we sat down we ordered appetizers and multiple entrees. the food came out piping hot and the flavors were delicious. We asked for hot sides to turn up the heat on our dish and were brought out multiple options. We really enjoyed the chili oil. We had a lot of leftovers and enjoyed eating them the following day. The first thing I noticed was how clean and air-conditioned the restaurant was. Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming! Our to-go order came out pretty quick. The portions were big and the food was AMAZING. We got the chicken & broccoli lunch plate and the Mongolian beef lunch plate. The meat was perfect, the fried rice was heavenly, and the quality was great all around. Their chili oil is superrr good too. It tastes like it was made in-house. Came for the reviews it did not disappoint. We got the salt and pepper wings, the egg drop soup, the shrimp fried rice, green beans, Mongolian beef, and a side of 16 oz steamed rice. It came out to $78 and some change. It's not like super cheap it's a little on the higher end but the food was good and especially nothing really Asian around here. The egg drop soup was my least favorite, more watered down and not hot at all, it was like barely lukewarm. The green beans and monglian beef had a lot of flavor and not too greasy I'd recommend those two the most. The salt and pepper wings were good but it just wasn't hot enough, like it wasn't made fresh. Additionally the shrimp fried rice had a lot of huge shrimp and the rice was very flavorful but for almost $19 kinda meh. I'd come back if I'm on the road to Reno again. Nice stop. First timers! We didn't try imperial gourmet but heard decent reviews about wonderland so decided to give it a try. Wasn't disappointed! Was skeptical because of the prices but was surprised at the big portions! So I definitely think it was worth it. The kung pao could be spicier but that's a preference. I'd rate that a 4/5. Could use more salt flavor but again, could be preference. Mongolian beef was the star! It was SUPER tender. Would definitely get again. Chicken lo-mein was a disappointment. No flavor/bland, but we added soy sauce and sriracha and it was fine. Overall 4/5 for bishop! Would def order here again. I was excited to see salt and pepper chicken wings. Best Chinese food in town! Passed through Bishop on route to/from Lake Tahoe and knew we wanted to grab lunch here. The lunch specials include fried rice, a crab Rangoon, a vegetable egg roll and soup (hot & sour soup or egg drop). The portions are generous and filling. Orange chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The schezwan chicken is tasty. I liked that it was stir fried and not battered. It was not particularly spicy for me but I have a high tolerance. The war wonton came in a huge bowl, the broth was very simple but flavorful. Service was outstanding. Food was brought out relatively quick after ordering. We met one of the owners, Brian, and he was very nice and told us that they've only been open a few months. Workers were attentive without feeling like they were hovering. The dining room is spacious and has a nice ambiance with modern seating that still had the vibe of a family oriented restaurant. Great place for a date or family outing. read more

What a delight to have East Coast style Chinese food in the Sierra. We were greeted with a warm welcome the moment we walked in, was promptly seated, and everything was super clean (I often get grossed out from the menu, but even the menu was spotless clean), and the food, the food!!! We ordered three of the standard fare and everything was so freshly made. The hot and sour soup hit the spot even though it was a hot day outside, the green pepper beef was so tender, the General Tso's chicken and sweet and sour pork were so freshly fried. The service was so attentive, kind, and it was such an unexpected delight. If you are in the area and have a craving for Chinese food, this is the spot.
