Bought a groupon for myself and the boyfriend + a groupon discount so came in with low expectations for a $28 massage per personfor an hour. We had to wait a little bit despite having booked an appointment but the lady there was very nice. I'm not sure how many masseuses they have but we had a man and a woman (vicki?). The woman worked on me and applied perfect pressure, found the areas that needed more work and spent more time on knots. She asked several times if the pressure was ok, making sure I was pain free. The man did the same thing with the boyfriend and appropriately used harder pressure when prompted. We were very happily surprised and would definitely go back and pay the full price. This is not massage THERAPY but a great massage parlor place, it's new and clean and the upstairs room feels very private. We were lucky enough to be the only ones there so it felt quiet and intimate. Very happy customers! Payment was quick and easy. My friend and I went to this SPA in Berkeley downtown last weekend. my headache was painful so bad before I went there. I hope they would make my feel better. I have to say that We are so satisfied with their service. We did a hour essential oil body massage there. I felt so relax, and enjoyed every minute. The lady therapist who worked on me really concentrated on my trouble spot areas and then treated the whole body. Additionally, my joints feel much more relaxed and my sinuses became clearer. Came across this place through Groupon. My first massage, wasn't sure what to expect. When I entered with my wife the place was empty and a man followed us through the entrance and began asking if we had an appointment. I replied yes and proceeded to tell him of the Groupon. He could not understand me and found and woman who processed my Groupon and led us upstairs for the massage. Wasn't great but then again for a first time wasn't sure what to expect. Masseuse used a lot of oil. I could hear many of the conversations downstairs which kind of distracted from the relaxation. After the massage there were 4 employees waiting at the entrance/ exit explaining that I needed to leave more of a tip than I had. Kind of put a bad end to the experience as I felt really awkward as I left what I thought what was fair. I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant after reading these reviews but I had a great experience here. I came in the afternoon on Friday as a walk in for a 30 min foot reflexology massage and there was a man sitting in the waiting room who was immediately available. They soak your feet in hot water first (typical) and massage your neck and shoulders. There was a reclining chair and I did not need to change clothes. The guy wore a mask, for cleanliness. The foot massage was great and I wanted to extend the time longer! I did not feel like there was too much lotion here, like other reviews. I was gifted a Groupon for a 60 minute Swedish massage for Christmas. When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist did not take down any of my information. I stated my name, and telephone number, requested a female massage therapist, and then told him about the Groupon for a 60 minute Swedish massage. His response was "OK". My husband came with me to the appointment. Upon our arrival, a man was opening the door at 10:45. He did not greet us, instead, he asked if I had an appointment. I replied I had made an appointment for 11:00, with a female massage therapist. We sat down at the couch next to the entry way for about 5 or 10 minutes, before a female employee came up to me and asked again if I had an appointment. She was brash and was speaking very loudly. She asked if I had a Groupon. At this point, I had stated the Groupon deal twice. She walked away for another 5 minutes. When she returned, she said, "Follow me". My husband left to a nearby coffee shop, and I followed the woman upstairs. The spa rooms are divided by curtains downstairs and upstairs there are two massage tables. When she noticed that my husband was not with me, she demanded to know "Where is your friend?, He does not want a massage? It is only you!". She appeared angry and walked off. Confused, I got ready and laid on the massage table. A young male employee walked in wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I was shocked because I had told the spa on numerous occasions that I had booked a massage with a female therapist. At this point, although irritated, I was already undressed and thought I should give it a shot. The first thing he did was take my hair and put it up in a clip. I started to feel uneasy because this was not typical or at least I would have been asked to put my hair up before a massage. In the background, I could hear the other two employees downstairs, making coffee, cleaning, and slamming cupboards. Their conversation was loud and interrupted the supposed therapeutic experience. He started by rubbing my body with the sheet over me. I have experienced this with other massages and did not think anything of it. However, when it was time for him to remove the sheet and begin using oil, he pulled the sheet down and also my underwear to below my waist. I immediately grabbed the sheet and my underwear and stated that I was not comfortable with this. His response was "no, no, no," as if I was interpreting his technique incorrectly. I responded with, "No, I do not like that, I am not comfortable with that." The following 5 minutes were massage techniques that were painful and awkward. The "massage therapist" proceeded to apply unnecessary pressure with his elbows to my back by laying on me. His crouch in very close proximity to my head, which was very uncomfortable. I put up my hand and asked him to use less pressure. His response was a question of "are you ok?. I reiterated that it was painful and asked for him to please use less pressure. At this point, I could hear him sniffling, and I felt one of his hands leave my back, wipe his nose, and then wipe it on the massage table sheets. At this point, I put my hand up and asked for the massage to end. We were only 15 minutes into the massage, which was supposed to be for 60 minutes. He did not appear to understand that I wanted it to end, so I just had to say "I'm done, I want to leave." He walked away. I pulled the curtains to get dressed as quickly as I could, but before I could reach for my clothes, he opened the curtains with a hot towel. I was topless, now angry, and told him to please leave. As I was getting dressed, the female employee came upstairs and wanted to have a conversation. In order to prevent another employee from seeing me topless, I told her I was getting dressed. Her response was "Why do you want to leave?" I opened the curtain and told her I had requested a female massage therapist, and that I was uncomfortable. She said, "I can fix it". I said no thank you and proceeded to walk down the stairs with her tailing me, telling me to go lay down and she would take care of me. She stated that she was unaware of my reservation requests, that the young male, who did my massage, did not understand English that well, and that she would be able to provide me a massage. I declined. They took my Groupon and I walked out in tears. The techniques used were not Swedish or therapeutic. It was painful and I was tense from being uncomfortable. My back is extremely sore. I urge spa goers to proceed with caution or take your business elsewhere. I will not be returning. The only reason for the 1 star rating is because Groupon worked with my husband to refund our account. read more

Got a $35 Groupon for the 60 minute massage. Called in the afternoon on a Saturday and got an appointment for a few hours later. My massage therapist was very friendly and professional. I liked the ambiance of the place - dim lighting, nice subtle decor and soothing music in the background. I got a very thorough massage: back, arms, legs, face, etc. She wasn't afraid to be firm to get out some tough knots, and it was really lovely all the way through. Worst massage ever I have in my entire life. I purchased 60min swedish massage $30 voucher through groupon. There are a woman therapist and a man therapist. I asked woman therapist that I wanted to have only neck through back, no under back. She started to rub my back without oil for 10min and I asked her to use oil since this was "Swedish massage." Then finally she used little bit of oil except my neck. She said that she couldn't use oil on my neck,because of hairs. (I even tied my hairs on one side to get massage easily.) I was so confused but was trying to relax at the same time. Then I saw she was kicking my sandals which I was arranging neatly before I lie down under the bed. I've been laying down for a while after that, but all she did was rubbing my back very softly and I didn't feel anything. I asked her to do little bit stronger. Then she strongly suggested me for a man therapist who has "15years" experience. I always ask woman therapists where ever I go because I'm a woman and am comfortable to have massage by woman. But this is my first time that she can't massage any stronger and suggest a man therapist in stead. A few minutes later, a man therapist came and started massage. Even tho I didn't ask, he used oil on my neck. His massage was too strong, and I asked him to do more gentle few times, but sadly he couldn't understand English well. So it was just painful... Usually if they're good therapists they can tell which part of your body is stiffed and they try to massage stiffness away. But unfortunately they're different. Indeed, he kept massaging my shoulder blazes,not around it,but bones. The next day of the massage, my back hurts so much. When I saw my back on the mirror,I realize there're lots of bruses.. Meh. Pros: Decor and ambience is nice but the curtain idea is iffy at best. The staff speaks very loudly which, of course, carries right through the curtain and they don't even try to be quiet. Then, when it was over the guy was waiting for me downstairs...I guess for his tip. I didn't feel it warranted anything over 15% but he had the nerve to "no-no" me and show me a sign with their requested tip amounts based on the length of your massage. Ummmm, excuse me? I should have deducted based on the fact he only did one side of my body. Lol. It okay. Over many months I tried to schedule my Groupon appointment, the business would a sometimes take my appointment and when I say it's Groupon they'd change their minds and say "no, actually we aren't taking any more Groupons today, try back in a couple days" or; not pick up the phone (just ringing, no voicemail) for 2 days; or finally there were plumbing issues and all the appointments for the day were canceled (after I finally got one) and couldn't be rescheduled at this time. All individually plausible, but altogether annoying and shady. TODAY... the Groupon is expired. I looked in the help section, it said I could use it for the value I paid. I made an appointment, arrived and the young woman at the counter said she couldn't use it, it was expired and then when she tried to scan it anyways. She tried to enlarge the image by spreading the screen with two fingers, you know what I mean. That redeemed the voucher, she verified yes and then said she couldn't scan it because it's marked redeemed. After lots of back and forth with serious language barriers she called her boss who was crazy rude when I got on the phone. She told me that Groupon never paid her for my purchase because it's expired, that she wouldn't be able to pay her staff if I wanted a massage. Not how it works, liar. THEN tried to haggle a deal and get me to pay half price for a massage. AWFUL. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place... There are places with similar services that charge less, and places with better services for the same price. We tried walking in with three people and they had only two people working, but offered to get another one in "about 15 minutes." They seemed pretty disorganized, yet seemed to be pushing to get us to just start with two. We told them we'd rather wait until the third masseuse arrived to start and end at the same time, and then they admitted that a third person would not be available at all. Since we didn't want to have everyone spend an hour waiting around, two of us decided to do 30 min each instead. My 30 minute foot massage was extremely mediocre -- lots of oil, not very much pressure. She also kept talking to the masseuse in the next room through the curtains, which was sort of distracting, plus it sounded based on tone like she might have been asking questions, which made me even less confident in her experience. read more

I found this place on Groupon and found a great deal for an hour massage. I was the last appointment of the day. The massage was really good in the first part, but towards the end it lost a little interest. The massage therapist all of a sudden disappeared without a word and i wasn't sure if the treatment was over. She was talking in chinese very loudly to the person on the bottom floor, then came back and proceeded with the massage. The biggest downfall was that she told me that i have to add more tip because the treatment was cheaper than usual (the whole reason I found this place). I don't agree, I tip based on how well the treatment was and find it very uncomfortable and rude to be told how much tip to leave (That said I left more than 15%). My wife and I are certified massage therapists. We were sore and tired from massaging all day and needed a massage ourselves. We came here because it was affordable and open. Even though they were supposed to close at 9:30 they started our 1 hour massage at 9 for us after we finally found parking. Vicky worked on me and Jeong-sen worked on my wife. Vicky was great, she released a lot of knots and tension in my neck and shoulders and the glute and hamstring work was very nice too. I could have used a little more work in my pecs and quads and a little less in my neck but all in all ot was a great full body massage for $50. I was happy to give Vicky a $20 tip. She worked very hard to get a lot of bodywork done in one hour. Most people pay about $150 for that amount of work at my spa. We'll be back. If you like deep bodywork and don't mind a somewhat uncomfortable face cradle or not the best massage oil and a little outside noise then this is the spot for you. read more

I would not recommend going to this place. I bought the Groupon deal wanting to have a relaxing Sat since my day was shitty. They were able to fit me in that's day. I will say the inside had a nice ambiance inside. The massage sucked was way to rough that the next day my back was super sore. I asked for lighter but the masseuse didn't listen. Never have I ever been to a place where when working on my back would they roll the sheet with half my ass exposed. And mind you the masseuse was an old man. I asked to roll the sheet back up but he acted like he didn't understand. So I did it myself. I ended up stopping the massage earlier because I felt so uncomfortable because the guy kept touching my side boob way too much. I got dressed and couldn't wait to get out of there. I also don't like how they just stood there waiting for a tip while I was being checked out. I felt pressured. With being uncomfortable, feeling violated, I ended up tipping which I regret.
