5 Stars I've been a patient at Digestive Disease Consultants…read moreof Orange County for many years and have always received excellent care. Recently, I had a health emergency and needed a prompt appointment and procedure. The team scheduled and completed everything within 24 hours -- truly impressive! Dr. David Choi was warm, funny, professional, and made me feel completely at ease during a very stressful time. The entire staff is courteous, prompt, and highly professional. I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Choi to anyone seeking top-quality gastroenterology care. Thank you, Dr. Choi and the DDC team!

So I went to this place for a consultation appointment at 2:30 pm yesterday. I was there on time,…read morethen I checked in and signed a bunch of paperwork that makes medical care so expensive here and exonerates everyone in the process in case I get screwed. Then, I sat down in the lobby patiently awaiting to get my name called. A little later, another gentleman came in and told the front desk that he had a 2:45 appointment, and he did pretty much the same things as I did. After another 5 minutes or so, his name got called and he went inside. I didn't give it much thought thinking he could be seeing a different doctor than mine. Then later, another old lady came in for her appointment, I didn't hear what she said about her appointment time, and she got called rather quickly, but I was still waiting. After half an hour of waiting, my patience was running out, so I went to the front desk and asked them why people who had come after me went in before me. Well, my complaint kinda worked, my name got called and I was put into a room to wait. While I was waiting, I heard a doctor speak to a patient in an adjacent room, and it was a female doctor. I happened to know that my doctor was a female too. So I patiently waited for a good 5-10 minutes, and when I had a pretty good idea that the doctor was done with the patient and was walking out, I opened my door and saw the gentleman with the 2:45 appointment accompanied by a female doctor, who was the very same doctor that would finish me with my consultation in a few minutes. At that point, I was beyond being upset, but I kept my cool. Before I left, I requested a meeting with their office manager who patronized me with some bogus reasons that the front desk young lady was new, it was her 2nd day at work, lack of training, blah, blah, blah. Come on, I had been waiting in the lobby for over half an hour, and she was obviously the more senior one than the other dude. What really troubles me is why they would arrange not to see me with an appointment at 2:30 for a 5-minute consultation, instead they chose to see a patient with an appointment at 2:45 1st for a half an hour visit. Could it be that they enjoyed keeping a foreigner-looking individual waiting as he didn't look he belonged in the 1st place? That I don't really know, I certainly hope not. But isn't it an interesting time in which we live. Full disclosure: I am a Chinese, the gentleman is either a hispanic or southern Asian, the lady is white.

I write this review with immense gratitude for dr. Patel. After being very sick for several months…read moremy symptoms became increasingly worse and debilitating. Not knowing where to turn or whom to trust, thankfully a dear friend referred me to Dr. Patel. During my first appointment, Dr. Patel listened carefully to my concerns and understood that I was not only in severe pain but also nervous about being in a doctor's office. She quickly put me at rest with her compassionate and positive bedside manner. After her very thorough examination, she scheduled multiple tests. These tests identified serious but treatable GI issues, a hormonal imbalance, and a large ulcer that I was completely unaware of. Within a short time after starting treatment I was a newer better version of myself. Now, months later, I continue to improve and truly appreciate Dr. Patel for her incredible ability and willingness to address my medical issues.

She understood how exhausted I was and showed me warm caring as well, which I appreciated! The endoscopy she suggested went very smoothly, with her by my side to answer my questions, beforehand and afterwards. Since my two visits, I've called her office with questions to her medical assistant, Precious, and I received answers from Dr. Patel within a day as well as a personal reply from her via email. Though she is listed here with a Tustin, CA office, she has a Mission Viejo office as well--it's very convenient for me!

Dr. Riff is an excellent physician with outstanding bedside manner. I've been a patient since 2020…read moreand have always trusted and appreciated the care I've received from him. Unfortunately, my recent experience with the office's a staff from their billing department was extremely frustrating and unacceptable. I was blindsided by a past-due bill after two years with no prior notice. When I called to make a payment and understand the delay, I was told that multiple statements had been mailed and voicemails left--none of which I ever received. What was most concerning was the conduct of the billing representative.( I have the name but, not mentioning here) When I calmly asked for an explanation as to why I was being notified after such a long delay, she became defensive, raised her voice, and spoke to me in a disrespectful and aggressive manner. She even threatened to send the account to collections--despite the fact that no such action had been taken during the past two years while the balance was apparently outstanding. This kind of behavior is completely inappropriate and unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting. When I questioned her tone, the situation escalated further. I was eventually transferred to a supervisor, who took my payment and presented herself professionally; however, the explanation provided still did not justify the delayed billing or the way the situation was handled. While I hold Dr. Riff in very high regard, this experience with this associate with the billing department has severely impacted my overall trust in the practice. No patient should be treated this way. Unfortunately, this has led me to seriously reconsider continuing my care here.
