All the appearances of a poorly run operation. After scheduling an appointment online and making three attempts to confirm the appointment, the office didn't know who I was or even have the referral from my PCP and health system. Now seeking a different doctor. I was given a referral for Dr. Abousaif. I called the office and was told by the automated agent that I could make an appointment on the website. The web address given by the automated agent leads to a "Page Not Found." I went to the general website and found an appointment button. Using that, I scheduled an appointment date/time and was told that I would be contacted within 48 hrs to confirm the appointment. No one contacted me. I called the office after several days of waiting to confirm my appointment. The auto-answer gave me the option for a callback, but I decided to wait in the queue. After 15 mins I moved up to #4 and then the phone line disconnected. I called the office again and selected the callback option. I was told I would be called back within 48 hours. No one ever called. After 3 days of waiting, I called the office again to confirm my appointment. The receptionist had no record of my web-based appointment (on their system), and had no record of the referral from my doctor/health system--even though I had a printed copy via mail. And the receptionist's office phone was very bad--crackling in and out as she talked. This has all the appearances of a very poorly run operation. The front desk employee made me wear a mask, but the doctor didn't have a mask on! The doctor showed me no proof that I had any inflammation in my throat! But claimed I did! This Dr Abiusaif & his NP Dixie are not looking out for the welfare of the patient! Seems like they are only out for the money! Both kept me on a stomach medicine for 6 1/2 yrs knowing this medication blocks the calcium from getting to your bones! Had I known this side effect I wouldn't have taken it! Now, I've had to have lower back surgery which is excruciating 3 discs removed, nine screws, titanium discs replacement, recovery is so painful! I'll never be the same! Stay Away from this practice office! All the women at the front desk and in the back are very rude, unprofessional, and not helpful at all. They all think they are above you. They even take 2 weeks to answer a simple question via their portal. I'm sure the doctor is decent but getting around their "process" just to see a doctor is ridiculous. They do not care about their patients in any capacity. Don't bother and choose another location! read more

This doctor performed unnecessary and undiscussed procedures while I was unconscious. I was also forced to pay extra for their own anesthesiologist, which I should have been told ahead of time so I could consent to it, not on the gurney after a day of fasting when I can't say no. He also suggested more procedures after, just so he can bill more to insurance. He doesn't have what's best for the patient in mind. I won't be going back. read more

Haven't seen Dr. Abousaif since 2016 due to insurance changes. Returned back to Dr "A" this month and due to his impeccable notes we picked up right where I last saw him. Easy office scheduling, was seen right away and scheduled for two needed procedures at the National Ambulatory Surgical Center. Everyone at his office and at the center were courteous, professional, and friendly. I would definitely recommend Dr Abousiaf and his team! read more

I had previously seen Dr Abbousif, which is great. I needed to see a GI again according to my DR and they said his NP Dixie stiles was available sooner so I took it. Worst mistake ever. So rude, unfriendly, condescending, talks over you. She was really irritated and aggressive from the moment she walked in. I did have an appointment so I'm not sure what was her problem. Although Dr Abbousif is great, I will not be coming back here to an establishment that condones such nasty behavior from a healthcare worker, I had never been treated like this in my life. The lady in the front was very rude! I scheduled my appointment back in September and I was given a December schedule. I have been waiting for 3 months for this appointment. I mistakenly thought my appointment was at 1130 am and I arrived at 11:14am after a 40 minute drive. There was nobody in the front office when I arrived and at 11:19, the receptionist came out from the back. She asked my name and said in a very rude way. "You're appointment is at 11am and it's now 11:19. We only allow 15 mins for late comers." She said just to schedule a new appointment. My colonoscopy with Dr Abousaif was a breeze, but that was the only time I've seen or met him. I've never been able to get in to see Dr Abousaif for a consultation in a timely manner, so I've seen the NP Dixie twice. I agree with other reviewers that she leaves something to be desired. I don't remember the details of my first appointment with her, except that she was adamant that I can't digest milk. This without listening to what I was saying at all. During the most recent visit, she was more fixated on my body size. When I said I wasn't interested in losing weight, she persisted, having already decided what my problem was based on what I looked like. I am recovering from an eating disorder, and dieting is harmful to me. When she asked what I ate she started in on the milk thing before I got through breakfast. She seems to think she knows everything she needs to know based on very little information from me and generally did not let me finish a sentence or thought without interrupting. I think she's probably trying to control her attitude based on previous reviews, but it still needs work. As far as the practice is concerned, it is very hard to get through on the phone to a person. Yesterday I held for about 10 minutes before giving up and calling back. I repeatedly pressed "0" and finally got a person, only to be told that Dixie is not in on Thursday. I called back on Friday and found Dixie to be out of the office again. The office is supposedly open from 8am-5pm M-Thu, and 8-noon on Friday, but they actually close at 4pm M-Thu, and they take a two hour lunch 12-2. Overall, I'd say I'm not very happy with this practice, but will give it one more chance. I will try meet with Dr Abousaif himself in the future. read more

Did a Colonoscopy with Doctor Abousaif on Dec 28th 2019 First appointment was with Dixie the PA or Nurse in the office. Next it was the actual Colonoscopy at the Surgery center. this is the first time i meet Dr Abusaif. Did not even know what he looked like. The procedure was done and he followed up with me after. Now the bad part. Made a follow up appointment with the Orange office for 3:00. I arrived at 2:45 payed my copay and waited ......Waited.....Waited 3:30 still had not been seen approached the front office nurse asked about my appointment and she said Your next ....waited waited waited 3:45 I am out of the office i told the front office nurse that i am way past my appointment time and that the wait was ridiculous I wanted a refund of my copay and i was leaving. They said that they would have to get the office manager i told them to get her. The back office nurse called my name to come back at that moment i told her i was not coming back there, and i was leaving (very Loudly) they asked me to the back Trixle came out of her office where she was sitting and asked what the problem was i explained to her that i was waiting too long for my appointment and i was leaving Dixie said i can see you now. I told her "NO it is not worth seeing you just to say the colonoscopy went fine and they found one polyp it was benign". IF you have anything more to tell me i will stay otherwise i am out of here. She said no that is all i was going to say. I got my refund and left Her explanation was we have a lot of older people here that sometimes it takes more time with those patents. This excuse is not my problem they should schedule accordingly if they promise a 3:00 appointment they need to keep it. And when i schedule an appointment at a doctors office I expect to see the DOCTOR. NOT A OVER GLORIFIED NURSE. i probably am charged as if i saw the doctor. I was asked if I minded seeing Dixie Stiles, NP for my consultation. I figured that would be fine since I know nurses are caring, friendly and love to educate others. Well that was not the case. She was an hour late, rude, sarcastic and unprofessional. She rushed me through a 5 minute visit and told me I would get a prep that (with coupon) would be no more than $40. Well it was $158. So let me get this straight: $15 co-pay, $4 to park and $158 Rx and waiting an hour for 5 minutes of being insulted and intimidated with an uncaring person that represents nursing?? No thank you! I'm wait to see how Dr. Abousaif actually is for the procedure before letting everyone I know to stay away from this place. I didn't feel that way with his NP - she gave me incorrect info that had i not called the dr directly i wouldnt have known. She totally misunderstood my specific concerns and responded with non useful resource - i dont think she is a bad person and it would help if she would listen vs pre-judge so that she complements dr Abousaif's work. I went to Dr Abousaif for a colonoscopy yesterday. I was really impressed with him and his staff. My appointment was at noon so I got there at 11:00 am and I was home in bed by 1:00 pm. Dr. Abousaif has been so great treating my dad who is in end stage cirrhosis. Doctor even made an unscheduled consult visit to the hospital prior to my dad even being established as a new patient in his office, during a very bad couple of weeks my dad was having not being able to swallow solid foods. Dr. Abousaif is professional, kind, patient, actively listens, responds thoroughly, never makes us feel rushed or leaves us with unanswered questions. I am so disappointed. I 1st saw Dr Abousaif in his office in March 2021. I liked him immediately. I had an Endoscopy in August 2021. He barely spoke to me prior to procedure and as I was being discharged I had to ASK to see him before leaving. "All went well. I'll see you in the office in 2 weeks." I questioned him because my Discharge papers said he did 5 Biopsies! "Nothing malignant but we'll discuss when I see you in 2 weeks." My 2 week appt?? Sept. 29th! Based on Dischg papers, he did biopsies for some pretty serious stuff - ie Celiac Disease, r/o malignant stomach polyps. Refusing to wait 7 weeks for appt., and after REPEATED ATTEMPTS to reach a "human" on the phone to see if any cancellations so I could get in earlier, I saw my Primary 2 weeks after Endo who gave me all results - everything being negative. Oh...and a long-since RETIRED Physcian STILL on the phone as an option to see!!! I have relayed all this to my Primary, who sadly, said I am not the first iof his patients to complain. Doctor Abousaif did two endoscopies, I told him I wanted to redo the endoscopy because I am experiencing pain in the back of the throat down the esophagus, I experience pain when swallowing, I also get chest pain's as well he said that he didn't see anything but I don't feel fine, feeling a sore throat every morning and pain down the neck isn't normal. I've been suffering for 4 months I leave messages and he doesn't get back to me. I just had a follow up with Dixie Stiles she's so rude and she went over things that doctor Abousaif didn't mention after the Endoscopy. I don't feel comfortable seen a nurse Practitioner I need to be seen by my doctor, Dexie was not letting me talk she kept talking over me and was rude since the minute she walked into the room I don't understand why doctor Abousaif let's her handle situations she doesn't Eve like doing her job. She mentioned she has to many patients to get to all she wants to do is go home to her family, she treated me in a bad way because I leave messages at the office but how can I not I'm desperate to get help i have felt super weak because I have not been able to eat solid foods. If she would only understand how I feel try going for days without eating or drinking anything Dixie and see how you feel maybe you'll understand me then! I had a pretty standard experience years ago with Dixie in the office and an endoscopy. Fast forward to the present and I can't truly review because the office is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to. In the last month I have called three different times and waited up to 25 minutes to speak to someone just to be put on hold again or differed to a voicemail saying they will get back to me within 24 hours but failing to do so. If I had a choice right now I would be long gone. The only reason I gave the office two stars rather than one is the fact that in person the office staff was very friendly and personable. read more

Dr. Abousaif is the gastroenterologist of choice of many of my family members of my family. My uncle referred him to me when my mom was visiting and she was suffering from a bad heartburn that won't let her sleep. I contacted the office and they were able to schedule her to see Dr. Abousaif. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and Dr. Abousaif was very professional and caring. He listened to all of her concerns without making her feel "rushed" and the treatment plan he provided her made her feel herself again in a short time. Not only that, he also advised her on alternative medications in case she wasn't able to find the same ones he recommended when she goes back home. This is what I call real care. This is difficult to write as I am so overwhelmed with thankfullness that finally after 20 plus years Dr, Abousaif has given me my life back. For all the past years I have suffered with IBS and diverticulitis and as I aged each condition has increased and I had become housebound due to uncontrollable bowel issues. I have exhausted my options of doctors in the Palm Springs-Palm Desert area to no avail and left with each diagnosis after colonoscopy that I was "normal". I was advised by my caring friends to reach out to doctors in Orange County. What a blessing finding such a caring, knowledgeable I found in Dr, Abousaif. In my first visit I heard his words " I will do everything to give you your life back" and I trusted him and knew he could do it. I had very good experiences both with Dr. Abousaif and Dixie. Had a problem with stomach pains and Dixie explained why I could be having pains. Just to be sure she ordered an upper GI to make sure nothing else was going on. I had it done at the surgery center and Dr. Abousaif did the procedure. Surprised by other reviews saying that the NP is rude and unprofessional- here's my story... Had a consultation scheduled with Dixie the NP because I think I need an endoscopy. Checked in and sat in the Waiting Room... the office staff at the front desk were very busy on their cell phones and didn't seem organized or interested in me. Dixie came to the Waiting Room herself and took me back to a room. She was very professional, listened to me and what I had to say, explained the procedure, and answered all of my questions. Not at all rude or unprofessional. She knows her stuff and talked to me like a person. I found her caring and compassionate and very much like a nurse is expected to be. I sometimes see NPs at my other doctors' offices, and have always had a good experience... Dixie did not disappoint. I hope my endoscopy with Dr. Abousaif goes as well as this appointment.
