Many years ago, I underwent an endoscopy performed by Dr. Richard "Dick" Yip and was not fully sedated. I remained conscious and aware during the procedure while being physically restrained -- an extremely traumatic experience. What made it worse was the dismissive attitude afterward; I remember hearing jokes about how I was "asleep now," followed by laughter. It was deeply unprofessional and left a lasting mark on me. Patients deserve compassion and adequate care during vulnerable procedures. If I could leave less than a star, I would. Have not even had a chance to visit Doctor Yip, but he needs to check the attitude of his worker who picked up the phone. Nothing worse than hearing the person that is suppose to make an appointment for a potential patient sigh and sound annoyed on the phone. Dr Yip placed an ER CP stent in the hospital, and requested a follow up appointment to have the stent removed. Dr Yip was very informative in the hospital, however his office now refuses to schedule a Post Op appointment due to miscommunication between insurance and their office. Again this stent has to be removed! It has now been 2 weeks of phone calls . Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Dr. Yip is devoted to delivering quality care. He is equally personable as he is knowledgeable. He took my concerns very seriously and did not minimize them- a rarity in medicine. This doctor did NOT listen to anything I said to him. All he wanted to do was put me through a colonoscopy, which given my symptoms, I was not against. I agreed and that was the end of my visit. No more interaction. The office staff was supposed to give me the info I needed to prep. They did not and when I called to tell them, they accused me of lying. Like what the hell? Really? When I went in for the scope I felt like I was part of a cattle drive. Not one person treated me like I was worth the time of day and refused to answer any questions I had. I was upset and could hear them making fun of me, at which point my son, in no uncertain terms, told them to stop. There was ZERO bedside manner with any of the staff at the hospital and I didn't even see Yip until minutes before the procedure. After the procedure, I asked him questions which he refused to satisfactorily answer and told me I wouldn't remember the conversation anyway. I remember every word. I had my procedure in March. I still have not received a copy of my results nor has my GP. Several days ago, after being urged to call me by a friend who knows an employee there, they called and gave me the results but still didn't answer any questions. I explained that I'm still sick and she offered to call me in a prescription for nausea (yes, let's just treat the symptoms and ignore any problem that's causing them). The pharmacy still hasn't received that phone call. The doctor is curt and lacks any semblance of bedside manner and the staff is rude and incompetent. I do NOT recommend this office. I found this doctor through Zoc Doc and was able to book my appointment online with no issues. Because I used Zoc Doc the office received my records and history before my appointment. The office is very modern and in a decent location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The wait wasn't too long. I have seen several gastroenterologists over the past ten years. None could figure out what was going on with me, but Dr. Yip did. Dr. Yip has a very good bedside manner. I felt he really listened to my concerns and that he was on top of it. He did not give me the run around like other doctors did. He scheduled tests right away and I had my answer a few days later. read more

Dr Jason Yip is a great communicator, personable, speaks looking into your eyes. Eye contact, a rarity in the medical profession these days. The staff is courteous, office registration is electronic and took less than 2 minutes to update on tablet. It's been five years since my last visit, but Dr Jip quickly recalled me from 2014 as I had seen him shortly after having Thyroid Cancer. Great memory. Handicap parking available in rear of building,elevator located there also. It is a bit far to office, I had help of my Walker. So be prepared. Only stairs available in front of building and office located on second floor. Just for those with disability. Others, it's a great work out. Lol. read more

I had a 11:20 a.m. appointment with Dr. Dick (Yip) in which I had to take a day off of work for. I showed up at 11:15am. This clown makes me wait an hour and 45 minutes, without anyone checking in on me, before I finally walked out of the doctor's office with my refund for the doctor's visit. I have never been mistreated like this by any doctor in my life and I am 54 years old and have seen many doctors over the years. While waiting I got on Yelp and read Becky's also tragic story concerning this doctor's office and just wish I would have read it before I even attempted to let another doctors office schedule me an appointment. I was referred by another doctor by the name of Nath. I will be sure to let his office know so they do not refer anybody else to this guy in the future as well. Now because of this clown and his inconsiderate and unprofessional behavior I will have to find another doctor, set an appointment, possibly have to take another day off of work, just to get the situation I have looked at. I highly recommend that you do not waste your time in scheduling an appointment at this office so you can avoid being mistreated the way I was treated. Some people who work here just do not have customer service skills to deal with ..... Especially one of the older nurse...so rude...talk like a bitch.....horribly rude....poor doctor doesn't know all his nurses destroying his business....! Wouldn't recommend!! read more

Terrible terrible place for a Doctor's office. Me and my wife are in our 50's. We've been to many Doctor's office for appointment and by far this is the worst place to get checked. Her appointment was scheduled @ 9:45 am and we got there for check in @ 9:33 am. There were a few patients ahead of us and we understood that. By 10:30 we were still waiting and almost everyone ahead of us have been called. Few minutes later, patients who just arrived are getting called ahead of us. I talked to the receptionist and asked what the delay was about. She said specialist takes a while to see patients. But my wife just needed to see a PA to get her history to undergo a Colonoscopy. Finally she got called in @ 11:15 am. The PA talked to her regarding her history and the procedure. My wife agreed on the procedure. She told her someone would be there shortly to schedule her Colonoscopy. 45 mins later PA came back and said, "You're still here, no one came in for your schedule yet?" Glad my Wife walked out. If this is the kind of service you're going to get from this office, what more on the procedure. Very unprofessional for a doctor's office. My wife is in the medical field and work with many Doctors for 27 years. We regret not reading the reviews before we went there. Definitely will tell our family doctor what happened here, so she would start referring other patients to other medical offices. We would have rate this office 0 or negative star if we could. read more

Dr. Jason Yip is a very friendly and caring doctor, It's very rare that you get the same connection with other doctors, they're just in it to make a dime and overload appointments. He makes notes on each appointment regarding your status and prescriptions that you're currently on through voice recording on his ipad which I thought was great, keeping up with the times and a lot more efficient. He's very thorough at explaining and listening to everything, he spends quality time with his patients and does not rush. Whenever I have a question or concern and I'm not able to see him right away, he'll give me a call that same day to follow up and give his recommendations on what I should do. I don't know of many doctors that do that nowadays, I don't even think my pcp has done that for me. If it's an emergency, he'll make time in his busy schedule to get you in as soon as possible. The office staff is friendly and some of the best staff I've dealt with in the past, just very helpful. The office and facility is very well maintained and modern looking. If you want a truly caring GI doctor, look no further. read more

I would recommend him to anyone. He was the only doctor in a year that could get my medical condition under control. He it's very friendly and so is the staff. The office helped me when my insurance was giving the run around about covering certain things.
