Dr. Stanton has been sticking scopes of various kinds into me for almost twenty years. Before the first time, when my primary care doctor told me I needed the exams, I was intimidated and embarrassed at the thought. But Dr. Stanton is so professional and so warm, and he and his staff make the experience totally comfortable and non intimidating. And it saved my life. I must admit I was rather shocked when I saw the negative reviews for Dr Stanton. I have never had a problem with him nor his staff, they have always been outstanding. He took an extra step with my husband's colonoscopy and discovered an unlikely cancer. We both have been to him for years and don't have one complaint. Mayra the scheduler was incredible rude when I needed assistance, ignored me as if I didn't exist and her attitude was just ugly, I wouldn't come back here there is a lot of negativity and it's very unwelcoming . However the front office Jennifer and Naomi assisted me very well and along with the girl who roomed me I believe her name was gabby ? They were very sweet treated me as if I was family! read more

Wasn't looking forward to having my colonoscopy procedure but the staff at this facility made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. I went here recently for a colonoscopy. This was the first time I've ever had this procedure. I had the standard 20 to 30 minute wait past when they had scheduled me. Typical for most doctors. I never really met my doctor. He came in after they gave me the sedative so I barely recall him. He also spoke to me after the procedure to let me know that everything was normal. I was still drugged up during this conversation as well. So being I was drugged both times I spoke with him I can't recall much about him. The procedure itself was painless. read more

I met Dr. Stanton several months ago and asked him who could pick me up after the procedure. He said I could have an Uber come to the lobby and I would have to go down and they would then take me home. Then I spoke to his office manager and she said that an Uber was out of the question and that somebody else would have to pick me up and stay with me and take me home. Then about a week later I received a phone from the receptionist telling me that I have an appointment with a different doctor in the group. I told her to cancel my procedure and that would never come back to Dr. Stanton. What a messed up Office! read more

My 90 year old mother who has dementia was having bowel issues; constipated one day and the next diarrhea the next. Made appointment for Dr. Stanton's office and we saw Avani Gokaldas, PA-C. This PA is fantastic - caring and very thorough. She even called me the next day to follow up on our appointment and we discussed changes in diet, etc to try to avoid my mom having a colonscopy, given her age. Fast forward 1 month later and my mom is doing much better with complete overhaul in diet that her caregivers can follow. We have a follow up appointment tomorrow and I expect that I will continue to feel the same about Avani - incredible professional. Highly recommend her!! read more

This review is only for the office, not Dr. Stanton himself. This is the most poorly run the medical office I have ever been to! Just a bunch of idiots floundering around. They ask patients numerous times to complete the same paperwork they've already done. They collect your co-pay, then send you a bill for it. I got there today for a 1230 appointment and because someone who had a 1 o'clock appointment got there before me they took him ahead of me! Just a bunch of idiots. Luckily I don't need another colonoscopy for 10 years so I will not be revisiting this place. Good luck to anyone else that goes there! read more

Dr. Stanton has a calm and friendly demeanor who seems to genuinely care about his patients. While no one looks forward to having a colonoscopy, his professional staff of nurses helped to calm my fears and made the procedure as stress-free as possible. The LVN who checked me in - I believe her name was Allie - was outstanding! The young lady at the check-in desk and the timeliness of the response to follow up questions, however, leave much to be desired. When I called Dr. Stanton's office last Thursday (January 14) for an explanation of why I need a repeat colonoscopy in just two years, despite having only one benign polyp, I was assured that someone would call back on Monday, 1/18. It is now late on Tuesday, and no one has called. At 4:00 pm yesterday (1/18), my wife, a retired nurse, again called the office for an explanation. After being put on hold for a lengthy time, the front desk lady finally came on the line and treated my wife in a blatantly rude, abrasive and highly disrespectful manner. She kept interrupting my wife and treated her in a most condescending way. This young woman needs either a serious reprimand, and an attitude adjustment, or a new job. I assume this is not the way she was trained to treat Dr. Stanton's patients. Despite an otherwise positive experience, I may be forced to look for another doctor when the time comes for my next colonoscopy. read more

I love Dr. Stanton! I have been a patient for over 18 years and he has always taken great care of me and truly cares about all of his patients. His bedside manner is amazing. He is very knowledgeable and very up to date on the most recent treatments. His office even notifies me of clinical trials that I qualify for. He always listens to me and even inquires about my family and my job. He makes me feel like I am a patient, not just a number. I highly recommend him!!! read more

Dr David B Stanton is a wonderful doctor! I have been going to his office on and off for several years. He listens and cares about his patients. My only problem with him is he doesn't have a large appointment window. His staff on the other hand is not at all friendly. They are very unpersonable, barely polite and do not show a willingness to assist patients. If you need refills on medications the pharmacy and patient often have to make SEVERAL calls to get them refilled. This is not the treatment I am used to receiving from this office. It seems there has been a large turnover of help in his office. In addition, when needing to make a payment by credit card their policies aren't the most convenient and gives one the impression they don't trust their own employees with our credit card information. If this is the case how secure is our personal information? Since moving over to United Gastro there are have been too many changes that are not favorable for the patient. If it wasn't for how great Dr Stanton was I would give 1 star, it's that bad! read more

One of the better GI docs I have seen. He is knowledgeable, listens well, up to date on most recent treatments, and thorough. He was able to give me much more visibility into a condition I've had for years that was dismissed by and misdiagnosed by every GI doc I've seen to date. read more

Dr Stanton has recently help solve one of my major health problems!! The staff runs very efficient. I had to have another procedure done by another doctor and the girls in the office set the whole date and time right in front of me!! Wow, I have never worked with such an incompetent & rude staff of people. I have been trying obtain medical records for over a month & they don't seem to be able to handle this request. I have had to follow up over 6 times, provide additional fax number options & asked that they call the other doctor's office to confirm that they received the fax. The woman who handles the phone was of incredibly rude & insulting. I really suggest that Dr. Stanton's office take some time to find some replacement staff & be sure that they are trained to be respectful & to do their job. We will never be returning to this office! read more

Been going to Dr. Stanton for years.. his office has been bought out by a big group United Gastro..the office operations has gone down the toilet. from 1-10 (10 best), it's a 0!!! This review is for the office operations not for Dr. Stanton. Called to make appointment, Dr. Stanton booked out 6 weeks, saw his PA Avani. She went thru the symptoms, said i will call in 2 meds... Well only 1 med was called in and was not covered by insurance. Took 2 days to get a message thru Avani to call in the modified med and the other med that was never called in. Then separately I had a lab test done, after 8 days, no one called for results. I had to called the office for results, Avani never called back, i had to call back again for results. Basically you have to followup with these people every step of the way, they are not proactive and efficient making sure things are done right and correctly. As much as I like Dr. Stanton, it's impossible to see him now, you only see mediocre PA and to deal with the unbelievable incompetent office, i'm going elsewhere for better care.. read more

Seems like a great guy. Very efficient, although you only see the doctor for about 30 seconds before going under! The medical records dept is poor. I have had two colonoscopies and it is very difficult to get the records to your primary physician. Similarly, the "receipt" for the procedure is very vague; the number, type, and size of polyp is not included. read more

I visited the Irvine office and saw a physician asst, Teri Rembuskos. Teri was an excellent caregiver and told me to call anytime for questions. The staff however is not able to support this helpful approach. It has been 5 days and 3 faxes and 4 phone calls trying to get someone on the staff to solve a prescription issue identified in my visit. No one returns promised call backs and the staff treats each contact as a stranger has called for the first time. It is unacceptable and tragic for this type of disconnect to exist between dr. care and staff performance. read more
