I went to Providence/St. Joseph ER for a serious cut to my hand. After several hours, they were able to stabilize it. During which, they arranged for surgery that night with Dr. Gittings. He met me briefly prior, and explained his plan. My understanding from him, post-op, was that it was difficult. My post-op visits to his office were very efficient, and nurses and staff most courteous. Dr. Gittings is very approachable, sincere, and explains things very clearly. While there were a number of patients waiting each time, the waiting room was quiet and no one seemed to wait very long. My hand? Back to normal. Thank you Dr. Gittings and staff. read more

Waited 30 minutes to get into the room. Waited 30 more minutes in the room for someone to come. Waited 10 minutes for an X-ray tech after that. Doctor was in and out within 3 minutes. Waited 10 minutes after the doctor came in just to get a paper with my MRI order. Keep in mind the only parking here is pay by hour. read more

Front office red headed gal in Orange is plain old rude. I believe her name is Myra. She must be miserable because she does not have decent manners. I have been to the Orange site x3 and have encountered her each time, unfortunately. She doesn't give eye contact, speaks over patients including myself, just wants to sit and gossip with coworkers. When I asked her a question about my copay and balance, she said "that is not my job, you need to do it yourself, they don't pay me enough here for that". She strikes me as someone who lacks education and etiquette. Dr. Decker is good though. You have to pay for parking. They do not validate. read more

I scheduled an appointment at Orange Orthopedic Institute and even completed all paperwork online beforehand. I traveled over an hour using a rideshare ($150) and paid a $60 copay upon arrival -- only to find out that the doctor I was scheduled with, Brandon Haghverdian, had already left for the day. No one contacted me beforehand, despite them claiming they called a phone number that wasn't even mine. I had tried calling in advance myself but no one answered the phones. The front desk staff did not seem professional, were not friendly, and offered no refund for the appointment that never happened. After all that time and money spent, I left without even being seen. read more

The summer of 2023 I unfortunately broke my foot and needed to see a specialist because of the type of break it was - second metatarsal near the joint at an oblique angle with at least partial displacement. The original urgent care appointment I went to advised incredible caution, because of the instability of the injury. I needed to see an orthopedic specialist because it might need surgery. Unfortunately, I seem to have made a poor choice by going to the orthopaedic Institute and seeing Dr. Stephen Kang. Filling out the forms online was easy. The front desk staff was typical of a large office, so they were efficient and just pleasant enough. The office was clean. The back room nursing staff was less helpful. I was told I would not be able to email my x-rays and that they would not be able to open a web browser to access the link I had received. They were not able or unwilling to use the QR code from the x-rays I received from urgent care. The office advised me to do while I was there to bring them up on my phone, which was smaller imagery, and a little dark, and not very clear. However, they would not allow any other means of viewing them, and they were not willing to take additional x-rays of my foot. I had put in my medical notes that I was having an inflammatory response to the break, including having run a fever and a small infection. Given the poor quality of viewing the x-rays on my phone and these notes in my medical report, as well as the fact that I am a full-time Pilates, instructor and athlete, I was incredibly disappointed by my visit with Dr. Kang. Honestly, I should've gone to another place and gotten a second opinion because he blew me off. He was very dismissive of my injury. Thought it was not anything to worry about that. I should just start walking on it in regular sneakers and everything would be fine. He was very wrong and may have caused me long term problems. I did my follow up with a different doctor 5 1/2 weeks after the initial injury. Included below is a close-up screenshot of where my fracture is 5 1/2 weeks after the injury. It obviously had a bone chip or problem at the top of the fracture (abnormality) and was displaced. It was obviously much more severe than Dr. Kang paid any attention to and my healing is now incredibly slow, fairly painful, and potentially will not heal properly. Although every break has its own healing patterns, I do point responsibility to a dismissive attitude and lack of attention from my first office visit as to why this break is such a problem and will cause me a problem in my work and athletic life for a very long time to come. I do not recommend this medical practice based on this experience of the nursing staff and this physician. read more

This place seemed like a dial-a-ride clinic. I had an appointment for lower back pain that was very bothersome. I was told I wouldn't meet with a Doctor at first-but a nurse-which is fine. I was given a XRAY and prescription and scheduled a MRI test. I was told by their MRI facility I would hear back regarding the results within the week of the MRI. Here I am almost 2 weeks later and haven't heard anything, with back pain still bothersome and lingering. I've sent emails, called, and sent a message in their portal and haven't heard anything. I guess they don't care about helping me out. Only thing they have done for me is waste my time and take my copays. read more

I'm an active 75 yo woman. Dr Jonathan Kaplan did bunion surgery on both my great & little toes on my right foot. 10-12 weeks post-op, he noticed upon cray that new bone was not granulating in. He then prescribed 10000 mcg of iron to stimulate bone growth. After several more months, he decided to remove the hardware he installed & put new ones in. He also did an autonomous bone graft. This surgery left me with a permanent bulge on the forum of my foot, constant pain & poor circulation on my great toe. I experience pain on the bottom of my foot when I walk a moderate distance. The post -op visit , he assured me this all would subside. Sometime post -op, I received a letter from his associates informing me that Dr Kaplan left the group practice & moved out of state. Dr Kaplan does not deserve the one star that is on this post. read more

My daughter took an uber from Los Angeles and I met her in the office on Lu to be told that dr Brandon Haghverdian,left the office and she couldn't be seen. I met her there only because she is anxiety ridden when seeing a Dr. i cant say enough bad things to describe the unprofessional way that this was handled. They didn't offer a different Dr. They didn't offer to still take images of the ankle and elbow. They simply wanted to have us come back. they took our copay and didn't even offer to reverse the charges. I will certainly report this to Aetna or anyone that will listen. We did talk to the office manager but she didn't offer any solution or options. if I could give a zero star that is what it would be. read more

Roxanne, Dr. Kang's receptionist lied to me about processing an important document she told me that would be filed the following day after speaking with her about my disability claim extension that Dr. Kang recommend me not to return to work until I completed physical therapy. However, she didn't and waited till after my disability return to work date that the disability claim stated and I stressed to her about, now there is a huge delay in getting paid. Their billing is exceptionally shady! Anyone seeing doctors at this group here should make sure with the front desk they are covered and also verify with your insurance. And after you do that, still expect a full bill as they do some serious twists and deception to bill you in full--despite their doctors being clearly in network for your insurance. read more

When I was trying to make my husband's appointment I should have know this place was terrible. The desk is very unorganized and the office girl was very short with me on the phone. It took a long time to get into the office but my husband was in so much pain and I didn't know where to go. This place is a pain management center assumed it would be helpful. The appointments spanned over 6/8 months. Never helping my husbands issues. He received injections and referrals to physical therapy. Dr. Le told him to stop exercising. The only thing that makes my husband feel good mentally. The final straw is when yesterday he told my husband to find another line of work. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. My husband's been in his line of work for 35 years! He's just trying to make it 10 more years to retire. He makes a ton of money and the total support of our family. What would Dr Le do if his hand was cramping? Quit his profession? This place is a joke. They don't help they run you around then tell you they can't help you anymore what a waste of time ,this was a painful depressing year! Please learn from our mistakes don't go here. read more

I've been to OSI a few times.. back, ankle and wrist. I've had stellar care across the board. The front desk is quite busy but pleasant and efficient. All 3 Drs I've seen are top notch. The xray techs are super kind, nice and expedient. Every assistant to the Drs has been very knowledgeable and caring. Going in for the 2nd wrist trapeziectomy (opposite hand) on Wed with Dr Paul Dinh. The first was very successful. He told me to expect terrible pain ( had none). I have had 3 surgeries with Dr Dinh. One wrist and 2 trigger fingers(all 3 injuries). All 3 have been great. I had the pleasure of visiting the office today because I needed to get some paperwork filled out for disability. They were able to point me in the right direction immediately. Paola happen to be standing right there talking to the ladies about some work related matter I'm not sure. But she raised her hand and said I can help with that very politely and kindly took my paperwork and explain the process to me so easy thank you so much. Also, last week when I had a question about my boot, she was able to assist me and help me understand, what I cannot do with this boot thank you so much Paola lifesaver and let me forget Dr. Kang appreciate your help. Give me back on track. And I will be remiss if I did not add Roxanna to this because I totally forgot Paola's name and I had to call back and Roxanna was able to assist me with that. DR. SHEPARD is an amazing surgeon with an incredible staff. I went to another doctor before I found Dr. Shepard and it really put into perspective how awesome Dr. Shepard is at what he does. He has a lot of experience in his field and provided me with great confidence in his ability to correct my meniscus issue. I had a slight trim of the meniscus of my right knee and during the entirety of my surgery and post-op, my pain level never even reached a level 2! I would refer any family and friends to Dr. Shepard. 100%! read more

I was referred by a friend and top executive at HOAG Hospital to schedule an appointment with Doctor Kaplan to discuss a recent foot injury during Marathon Training. Soon as I told the office person I am paying out of pocket with cash, her tone change from bubbly to .."ooh, umm, you're a cash patient?..we don't have room in our schedule for cash patients". I never felt so belittled trying to find help from a doctor. Cash or Insurance - what's the difference as along as the Doctor gets paid? So, so sad that this practice has gone downhill since I saw Dr. Gorab in 2016, and Dr Patel in 2021. I agree with all the negative reviews and am glad to see that I am not the only one. Basically, the MA'S are sadly running the office and deciding if and when you should see a Dr. And they are NOT nurses or even nurse practitioners. And, the doctors don't want to hear about it. I had to wait 9+ weeks to see Dr. Danto while in DEBILITATING PAIN, one failed epidural steroid injection and 2+ weeks before they'd schedule the next one. Worse pain than a total knee replacement. AND, I found out by accident that he doesn't do these only once a week in his office as they told me after I called and finally got thru, they took another 2 weeks to schedule in the surgery center!! So, Dr. Danto DID have appts. there but I was never scheduled there until my 4th injection. I am on Medicare Advantage and almost sure that all the other open appts. we're "saved" for the PPO Non-Medicare folks. Finding a new pain doctor. PLEASE DO THE SAME. Poor patient care as far as non doctor employees are concerned is rampant, and dangerous.This is a global OSI issue. read more

Please take your care elsewhere. While Dr. Brandon Haghverdian was a pleasure, I can not say the same about the front desk who answers the calls. Maria while very cooperative at first, has not responded to some requests from my insurance and stopped answering and returning my calls. I have left voicemails being polite for an update with no return. When I tried called their billing department for questions, they failed to respond to my calls. They have not answered my voicemails in weeks. Dealing with insurance is a headache on its own having my injury, so having unanswered questions is unprofessional. There was more to be said, but overall front desk needs improvement. read more

I slipped and fell from pretty high up on the slope of my backyard onto my concrete patio (in my sandals). My left ankle and foot were very swollen and I couldn't put any weight on it and the big toe on my right foot was also in a lot of pain. After another Orthopedic group turned me away, said without a confirmed fracture, they couldn't schedule same-day appointments, I decided to call Orthopedic Institute, office staff was much friendlier, offered me a same day appointment, and said a General Orthopedist could evaluate and treat my injury, and if I needed surgery, then that would be scheduled for another day. Dr. Smith was great, he could tell by physically examining my left foot, ankle, and toe that I had a couple fractures. X-rays confirmed it. Within an hour of I was on my way home, crutches, cast, and with a follow up appointment scheduled with their Ankle and Foot Specialist. It was very clear to my wife and I that Dr. Smith is very dedicated to his profession and knows his craft well, I will highly recommend Dr. Smith and his Institute to anyone I know needed Orthopedic treatment. read more

I've been here for a few of my issues over the past few years. First time was for a calcified rotator cuff to see Dr Kevin Parvarish. He and the staff were caring, kind and extremely helpful. I came back again for a fractured wrist and was under the care of Dr Daniel Gittings. Again - kind, caring, informative of my options and took great care of me since I needed surgery to add plate and screws to get my bone propped up. The doctors are good, but be prepared to wait a long time. Seems like they overbook a lot. Two out of three appointments I've waited over an hour to be seen. Had an appointment here today. They send you a link to complete the forms before you arrive. Got to the reception desk who was very rude. She handed me forms to fill out. I told her that I had already completed them online to which she replied "sometimes they don't go through". I said so I just spent 20 minutes online completing the forms and now you're telling me that they didn't go through. To which she immediately snapped back "it's not my fault". Who said anything about it being her fault? I was just asking for an explanation. When I got into the exam room, I expressed my disappointment in their system to the medical assistant. She looked in the computer and they had several of my forms in there, they were just missing two pages. couldn't the receptionist told me that instead of being so snotty?
