This is the place to be for any physical therapy needs. I had my first visit in May with a trimalleolar fracture on my right ankle with crutches and no weight bearing , to a boot, then a brace, and just walked out today, August 1st, with full mobility and the best care! I can confidently say that every appointment helped me tremendously in my recovery and all the stretches exercises had been exactly what I needed. The staff is great and Callan and Memo are the ones to thank the most. Callan truly enjoys what he does and never made me feel otherwise. Thank you for your amazing care, Callan! Appreciate you all!

With my exercise coach, Gayle!

I'm currently a client and I'm very happy with the services I have received from Corey and Buehler physical therapy. I hope to continue because everyone is so helpful and concerned with my treatment and my progress. Michael has been working with me for more than a year to help me regain full mobility after a painful shoulder surgery. The front office is also extremely helpful.

If I could give this surgeon a million stars, I would. Dr Steven Barnett replaced my hip 9+ years…read moreago. Being that I was in my 20s, I desperately did not want to have total joint replacement but after seeking consultation from a dozen different orthopedic surgeons across socal, it became clear that a THR was my only resolve. I went with Dr Barnett because he spent nearly 2 hours answering my VERY long list of questions and concerns. Together we went into the procedure with a plan A, B, and even C based on the concern of the integrity of my femur head since potential need for a bone graft may have been necessary. He was honest and upfront about not fully knowing the scope of the bone integrity. I appreciated him being forthright and transparent. His bedside manners were some of the best I've ever experienced from any medical practitioner. It is thanks to Dr Barnett and his team, that I had a smooth recovery with no surprises or road blocks of any kind. It is truly incredible how excellent my mobility, my strength and overall flexibility is. Nearly a decade later and I often forget my hip is bionic! I believe it's 75% the doctor(s) and the other 25% is the patients responsibility in terms of successful outcome. I couldn't be more pleased with Dr Barnett exceeding his part. I hope that he's still practicing when it's time for my revision because he will surely be my first choice. I've even recommended him to several other friends/family friends - all had similar fantastic experiences. Reading through the reviews on here, I feel like a lot of negative feedback is due to the patients neglect of doing their own research and homework. Not to mention the importance of after care. You get what you put in when it comes to post op care and therapy. I not only paid for extra physical therapy beyond what my insurance covered, but I've worked with myofascial specialists, chiropractor and ROLFing clinicians. The culmination of all of the above over the years has me in the best shape of my life! I'm more active and stronger now than I ever thought possible thanks to Dr Barnett and the entire team of therapeutic practitioners that have helped keep me dialed. Thank you Dr Barnett's team for redeeming and exceeding my quality of life!

Pregnancy had wrecked my body. I was having major hip and back issues by the end of pregnancy and…read moreit continued months after delivery. I saw two other physical therapists without much progress. I was looking for answers everywhere. A physical therapist account from another state told me to look for a physical therapist with orthopedic training (OCS credentials). Someone from my neighborhood app then suggested Dr John Somerndike. I have been so impressed with the treatment I received at this location. John is highly intelligent. He also has the best bedside manner and is very patient and thorough. As I mentioned I had been to several other physical therapy places so I have a frame it reference. Other places just assign you to an assistant after the first evaluation and have you do the same exercises over and over again. Even when they can tell I already have pretty good muscle strength and that I work out regularly. I really appreciated that John took into account that I work out and didn't give me a bunch of routine exercises. He gave me stretches to do at home and worked on increased range of mobility in my hip at each session. And it worked wonders! I improved so much over a few sessions. I was also really impressed that once he thought the sessions won't help me any more he flat out told me and let me know to follow up with my primary care doctor. That was very honest. I was shamed at others physical therapy places for not wanting to continue when I thought I didn't need help any more. I have to also say I know how hard it is to run a business. There's a good atmosphere in the office. All the assistants are on it and everyone seems cordial. I know that the business owner has a lot to do with how the office feels (based on how they treat their staff and the expectations that they set). I was really impressed when one time the front desk must have been out and John ran to the front to give me my next appointment and take my payment. The man knows how to run the whole place! John is a family man and he talks about his kids with such pride. He has such a positive energy about him. You can just tell he's an all around good human being. It was an honor to be treated by him. I will definitely be back any time I need physical therapy and I will refer anyone I know.

I am back to running and exercising with no pain and I am well on my way back to being 100% again. Every person I interacted with through this journey were extremely kind and helpful. When I say every person, I mean every person. From the front desk, to post surgery haze, to the cast room, to getting my stitches out, to scheduling, and billing. I felt like everyone is happy and loves their job. It felt welcoming to be in that kind of environment when I was scared about surgery and how my life would be after having a full rupture of my achilles but the staff made me feel at peace that everything would be okay and they were with me every step of the way. After rupturing my achilles, I knew I had to act fast before the situation got worse. Dr. Kaplan was available to fit me in for an appointment and very clearly communicated the options of surgery vs no surgery for recovery. Based on the information provided, I opted for surgery. I ruptured my achilles on Saturday, had my appointment on Tuesday, and received the surgery on Thursday. It felt like I was an NBA player getting VIP treatment. Post surgery was rough for me mentally. It's not comfortable sleeping in a cast dealing with the pain. I don't do well with pain pills either. The nausea really gave me some trouble. Dr. Kaplan and the team at Orthopaedic Specialty Institute were extremely accomdoating in helping me be as comfortable as possible with any issues that came up, even during off hours. From start to finish I was impressed with both his and his staff's kindness, listening skills, patience and competence. I suffered a complete rupture of my pec major tendon (tore my chest muscle off it's insertion point into the upper arm). After a consult with Dr. Shepard in which he fully explained all of my options and the process for both the surgery and the rehab, I had the repair done two weeks after the injury. I went into surgery, traded a few jokes with Dr. Shepard and the next thing I knew it was over and I had three titanium pins in my arm with my pec tied to them and a barely visible 4" scar. Six weeks in sling, then into rehab with a group Dr. Shepard recommended (Costa Mesa Physical Therapy, also excellent). Three months after the surgery I had rebuilt my shoulder and pec to the point that I could engage in shadow boxing and pistol shooting competitions. Five months after the surgery I was able to attend yoga classes, and to (very carefully) begin drilling techniques in jiu jitsu. I'm giving it a full year before I start training hard again, but the repair and the recovery exceeded my expectations and I fully expect to return my chest and shoulder to 100% within 12-18 months of the surgery. If there was a Top Surgeon competition Dr. Shepard would take gold every time.
