The PT Doctors have all been very helpful. It's how the office is run which is getting the 1 Star. I have insurance through the VA. I made a point to phone and verify they take my insurance. They confirmed that they did. Everything was hunky dory in the end of December 2024 because I had already reached my maximum out of pocket. Now in January 2025, on the 16th, they are pressing me and brought in who I think is the Office Manager to confront me when I came out of the bathroom to pay my bill before I receive my Statement from the VA. My insurance is old style true insurance where I pay a percentage after other VA codes are confirmed. It's not a Co-Pay which is due at the time of service. For instance, often the amount is adjusted based on the contract with the VA. I sometimes need to phone the VA to get the final adjusted amount. I have not yet received a statement from the VA since this is from 13 days ago. I canceled all my remaining appointments. Obviously, once I receive my statement from the VA confirming my final amount, I'll pay it. NOTE: Unlike other medical offices, they charge 3% to pay with a card. While the PT has helped, I could buy a Massage Gun for less than I'll be paying here and have done what is helpful myself at home. Save your money and buy a good Massage Gun at Amazon. If I'd known how I would be treated and their accepting my insurance so misrepresented, 1. I would have known, and 2. Just finished up with 5 weeks of PT here at CORE and cannot say enough about this place. The front office staff was extremely friendly, and very welcoming, not only that, but no typical doctors office wait times, if your appointment was at 11, you were seen at 11. Dr.Duran was extremely encouraging and made sure that the exercises I was doing, and provided with were consistently trending in a positive direction. I walked in barely able to fully stand straight, throwing out my back twice in a year, spasms, and today I walked out feeling confident in the strength I've gained, but also with the knowledge gained in how to continue to improve and reduce my risk of injuring my back again. My insurance approved 6 visits but they did 4 visits only. I told the front desk that it has supposed to be 6 visits but she said the insurance is looking only the measurements. I did not argue with my rights. I have been going to other physical therapists but this is the only physical therapist that don't comply with the approved visits. If they can cheat that is good, but they will lose customers. Very few real physical therapists there. They will ask you if a student is fine, then if you say yes the student is doing it all alone without the supervision of the real physical therapists. This facility is not impressive as I expect and it is dusty. I am not going back. They lose a customer. read more

JUST NO!!! Treated like trash Allow me to set the whole table. I've been blessed in my life to have work for companies with great insurance and lately to be blessed with coverage through the State which has been an eye opening experience to say the least Had a 10 AM appointment as a new patient scheduled. As I type, still dealing with explosive diarrhea, 4 feet from the toilet is my happy place. I called to reschedule my appointment because of my stomach and the response, weeeeelllll... "I WOULDN'T do that if I were you...we're at least 60 days out for new patients with YOUR insurance..." WOW, "YOUR rinsurance". I assure you, just as it was said, absolute attitude from the start. I said I had no option as I had diarrhea was I supposed to have said substance all over the rehab floor...later a manager referred to that as "cussing at an employee" I told her she was being unprofessional in her manner of speaking, that I'm not being a "Karen" and maybe their facility manager could step in before this ended up with me eviscerating them across social media platforms...ummmm The man answered said "Let me see what I can do to help you" then click..benefit of the doubt...I called back. After the 3rd hangup I called what I ascertained to be their main clinic and spoke with their main clinic. I spoke with an person who awkwardly identified herself as their clinical manager. She had already been briefed about my aforementioned cussing. She became confrontational about the situation without much in the way of anything to do with the lack of professionalism from her staff. I was going to just let it go then I received a call from my primary physician's office to see if I was OK. Evidently the clinic manager called them to not only tell them they were canceling my PT but to complain about me as a person. They did the same with my ankle doctor. WHAT??? An advanced degree holding adult called the office of two other adults with medical doctorates, actively practicing medicine because I wasn't going to stand for their receptionists in Orange acting completely unprofessional on the phone and not backing down when someone tries to intimidate me with a title? My net on this place is, they could not possibly care less about their interface with their clients and the level of indictment without investigation in this case...if you think this is just sour grapes...read my other reviews...I'm fair, I'm honest, I don't bash a place for the hell of it and I give a place a chance to redeem. My doctor sent me to therapy for left hip pain due to arthritis. Dr. Ming Chui was my assigned physical therapist. Dr. Chui is a dedicated, caring physical therapist who will help you find "the balance" through targeted exercises and hands-on therapy. Dr. Chiu has a caring, compassionate approach to physical therapy that motivates you to perform the exercises at home which have been selected for you. Utsavi Patikh is CORE's physical therapy assistant. I can tell you Utsavi is a dedicated, caring assistant with a great personality. Utsavi administered laser therapy for my hip and groin. DO NOT GO HERE! I came here for recovery after surgery to repair my broken leg. I complained of extreme pain in my outer knee, the one area that my surgeon did not touch, and I didn't experience a break in, and it was dismissed as just being tight, and I had to bear through the pain. The staff would poke fun at me for sobbing during my exercises, forcibly pushing down on my leg, to the point I'd be yelling and sobbing. I was told they hadn't seen anyone cry like me, and I'd apologize to THEM, for being in pain and not composing myself. After months of no improvement in my range of motion and being medically gaslit for months by my surgeon and PTs alike, come to find out, I had a severe comorbid meniscal tear, which physically left me unable to straighten my leg. I was being physically manipulated with a bucket handle meniscus tear, and any time I complained or questioned why that part of my knee hurt, I was never taken seriously. While not entirely their fault, and I've been neglected by the medical establishment and my orthopedist alike for my meniscus injury I complained about for months, *they were unsympathetic to my pain*. They never recommended less strenuous or gentle techniques and blamed me for not tolerating the pain. Sometimes it's not that the issue is your patient is a wuss. I found the staff to be relatively unprofessional in their conduct, dismissive, and didn't feel as though they took their time with me during my sessions, which would be all of 10 minutes of exercises with an inexperienced student. They also tried to sell me on expensive laser packages that wouldn't have benefitted my specific injury. As other patients have said, the facility is run down and smells. I found much better treatment at Santa Ana Tustin Physical Therapy, and I highly recommend going to them instead if they are in network. read more

After a terrible prior experience at Orange Coast Physical Therapy in Huntington Beach, I was RELIEVED when I found CORE Physical Therapy and Dr. Ashley. She is an absolute angel with extensive knowledge, a calming energy, and a confident and friendly demeanor. I sprained both sides of my hips from a pretty bad yoga injury. She listened intently as I told her the story, my symptoms, and the history of my injury. She did a thorough assessment and came to a decision that we needed a solid stretch & strengthening program for a successful recovery. It is my fourth week with her, and I can already notice a big difference. My pain has substantially subsided, and I look forward to seeing her each week. We consecutively add more exercises as I get stronger, along with a quick hip and lower back massage from Dr. Ashley. The PT assistants are also very friendly and attentive. This place is a scam. I went in to cancel and paid them my copay. And told them to cancel me that I was not happy with their work ethic. He /she told me I could not do that. I had to have the treatment.??? I told her why. I've paid you you took my money i have receipts and I do not want your treatment. And that should be the end of it. So I left, and in about a month I started getting bills for the copay? Now this was a referral from my Dr. I called again explain it to the mgr and he apologized and said not to worry it would be taken care up. Well here years later they have sent it to a collection agency and want me to pay 100$. So now I'm going to have to get a lawyer involved Over this because they are crooks. Unfortunately, third back for a different issue, but Dr. Chiu and his team are amazing at what they do. Dr. Chiu oversees my case, as well as, hands on and provides physical therapy treatment which I may do in office and at home in between treatments. The team is well versed in activity and exercises which I don't always find enjoyable but I've come so far from two back surgeries and one knee surgery. His office and equipment are clean and the environment is friendly. I enjoy they can accommodate my schedule. I really like they offer laser treatment for concentrated areas needing more attention. Ever since I started working at home with COVID in March of 2020, my back never felt the same. This went on for nearly a year. I tried going to a Chiropractor four different times, but the pain just seemed to get worse. I was a fool for putting it off as long as I did, but I received a referral to CORE from my Doctor. I saw Dr. Diane for the first time a little over a month ago. From my first appointment, she was extremely attentive and listened to every word. I had a great feeling about her since day one, and wasn't wrong. Each week, she gave me new exercises to use, and always adjusted my plan based on my progress. She was always calm and attentive. Not only that, she is a great conversationalist in general. I'm happy to report that over a month later, I'm on track and my pain has improved immensely. Core and specifically Dr Diane have really changed my life. I suffer from multiple health issues and started going to Dr Diane for one issue which she successfully helped me with. Then a separate Dr recommended PT for another body part and I said only if I can go to Dr Diane at Core. 3 yrs ago I needed a friend living with me, helping me with day to day care and today I'm able to do for myself. While I have a long road to resolve all my health issues, Dr Diane has given me the tools and confidence to be able to care for myself. To set realistic expectations and goals for myself and be able to reach them. Dr Diane is knowledgeable, patient and so very kind. This place is the most unprofessional place I have ever patronize. I am disabled, physically, emotionally, etc. I also have many health issues, as well as, needing ongoing physical therapy. However, this facility only wants to work with clients who have nothing wrong with them, accept what they are coming to physical therapy for. This is the last place I would receive physical therapy from. The only way I would patronize this facility, is it this is the only physical therapy facility my insurance would cover and then they would have to help me. By the way, Matt Reekstin says he is a practicing Christian, however, he sure does act like one. read more

I can't wipe the smile off my face. But the funny thing is, tears are welled up in my eyes! You see, today was the last day of my physical therapy. For the past 3 months, I was treated by Matt, James and most recently Thea. The smile on my face is because I did something today that I haven't been physically able to do since being hit by a car over a year ago...I ran with Thea! Not only am I now walking without a limp (something that my orthopedic surgeon said I would have due to my great toe amputation) but I am running! The tears are because the physical therapists at CORE have rehabilitated me and have pushed me out of the nest. I owe them so much--I have restored my balance, strength, endurance and the confidence to do things that I thought I may never be able to do again. Unfortunately, we have had to have a few PT sessions over the years at different places. I really appreciated the service my daughter got at CORE PT. They were clean, organized, efficient, professional, listened to us and our concerns, answered our questions, and provided us with valuable insight to make educated decisions about her care to move her forward. I can honestly say that the experience here was much more respectful than we have received at other PT facilities in the No. OC area. If you have a choice in care, I highly recommend them. The only reason they did not get a 5 star rating from us is their location/parking situation. The place is not easily marked from the street, the driveways are small/ almost hidden, and there is a limited/cramped parking lot. It's like a lottery with the other businesses to get a space. My hope is that they will expand to a better location at some point! read more

Get physical therapy HERE! If you are looking for dedicated & kind people, this is the place to be! Most of my visits were with Diane Kahler and Jonathan. I always felt supported and informed. I also worked with Artie, Ryan and Ming Chiu. Each one of them take the time to evaluate how you are doing that day and since they saw you last. Then they show you what to do and gently guide you if you need help. They listen to what you say and let you know how you are doing. Up at the front desk is Christina and she rocks! She is professional, full of smiles, enjoys seeing the progress that people make throughout their time at PT and quickly gets to you your appointment. Christian is the massage therapist and he works wonders! I have only had one visit so far, but I will be back! I really enjoyed being able to ask him to focus only on what I needed, instead of a typical full body massage. I left my appointment completely relaxed and the effects lasted a long time! read more

A friend suggested this place after I broke my foot. She said it was better than H&D. Since we really don't get much say with insurance any more, this just happened to be the place my insurance company approved. I had my reservations at first because of the building. It's definitely old. But, the people there are first class. Everyone who worked with me was very professional and focused on my treatment plan.
