I have done two rehabs with the staff at TPT, and both experiences were excellent. I had always planned to write a great review, but I did it. Now, it looks like I will be returning for another round of PT for my lower back. I last had PT on my back in 2018, but I got lazy over the last 2.5 years. The other PT was for Frozen Shoulder. Came to Think Physical Therapy after a total knee replacement. I was in a lot of pain and frankly was quite scared of how painful the sessions will be. Randy and his staff are simply amazing! I was referred here by an athlete who I bike with and I am so happy I came here. They specialize in every injury. Both Nick and Randy have a lot of knowledge and experience and great to work with. Excellent customer service from all the people that work here. I had surgery on my rotator cuff and I'm only 14 days out and believe it or not I'm already out of my sling, sleeping on my back with no pain versus everybody that I saw on YouTube after rotator cuff surgery were having to sleep upright due to pain. I did that for about 10 days and it was miserable. The staff are great and I love all the machines they have. I came here as part of my rehab for arthroscopic knee surgery to clean up my meniscus tears. This was my 2nd surgery (first was same injury in my other knee), and I had gone to a different PT the first time around so I've been able to reflect and compare. I was assigned to Nick, one of the partners, and I got the feeling he really wanted me to get better and back to physical activity. He understood that being active is really important to me, so we worked toward that goal. His specialty is swimming and working with athletes. I read some reviews below about this place needing more transparency in their billing and I do agree. I had to keep asking and wanted to see some records, but in the long run it all worked out. Nick released me after several weeks because he knew my $60 copay per visit was adding up, and suggested I was probably ready to hire a trainer at the gym with the saved money instead of spending it with him. I appreciated his honesty. I was normally assigned one of their PT assistants who were also nice and friendly. I know some other reviews mentioned they are just talking about the stock market and biking, but I always felt Nick's eyes on us making sure I was doing the movements correctly. The sessions always ended up with him coming over and checking my range of motion and strength, and I never left wondering what I should be doing until the next session. I always had homework!! He taught me to listen to my body and explained how to take care of my body while I run, lift weights and play sports. Again, I appreciated him understanding that quitting my favorite sports was not an option for me just yet. My shoulder has been acting up lately, and I feel like I should start here at Think PT to get it diagnosed before going to my PCP. read more

Received no relief after 3 months of therapy. Yet they kept telling me to come back over and over again and that it would take time. I ended up at a different office where I got back to full strength in 3 weeks. If you want somewhere to go where you can listen to overpaid therapists talk politics and the stock market, while you pay to ride an exercise bike (10 min) and ice your injury (10-15 more mins) for the better part of your hour, then this is the place for you. But if you want to get actual assistance and physical therapy - there are other, much better options in town for you. This place lacks transparency in it's billing, after inquiring about the charges with numerous staff I was never given a clear answer of how the billing was structured instead my therapist kept asking me to come back over and over again. After 3 weeks (6 sessions) of therapy on my knees, I was invoiced with $400 charge after insurance. When I called the office it was difficult to get anyone to answer the phone, left 2 messages then finally got someone to speak to, the person whom I spoke to couldn't answer the question about inconsistency in their invoicing but simply told me there is nothing she can do, as a result she directed me to her manager. The office manager was ignorant and insensible, she stated if I had questions about the charge I should have gone to the "office manager" during my therapy session, then she later stated she is not always in the facility so it is my responsibility to track her down. She mentioned the inconsistency in my invoice items is a result of their under-charging, then she said if I'd like she can bill me more. The Therapy After my doctor's referral, I made my initial visit, I was in my work clothes that day. The therapist started asking general questions and sat me down on the bench and ride on the bike. Day 1. $90 + $70 for 20 minutes of riding on the bike. Therapist asks me to come in again in the same week and set up the routine to do the exercises she would recommend at home and at the facility, I agreed and they asked me to sign terms and agreement for the enrollment. After 3 weeks of therapy this place did as much as putting me on the bike, asking me to stretch my body, and icing it afterward. Meanwhile, you should expect to hear other therapists talk about stock picks in the morning. I felt this place was not a complete scam but it was definitely not worth $140 a day. Manager told me this place has 20+ years of reputation, its a shame this place is run by poor management and overpriced "therapists". read more

After competing in pole vault through high school and college I was left with the normal wear and tear from any competitive collegiate athlete. 15 years ago I was in a snowmobile accident and ended up with a spiral fracture of my tibial plateau. It was a long process of healing. Nick Theders of Think Physical Therapy worked with me and was able to get great range of motion and strength back to my knee. 5 years ago when I had rotator cuff surgery, I returned to Nick. Came here following a bad injury that required surgery. The light atmosphere took my mind off my misery and I enjoyed chatting and laughing with staff while I got better. They push you enough for results but not enough to cause pain. I came back years later with plantar fasciitis and Randy was super honest and transparent and gave me home exercises to do and release me when he could well have kept me coming to the office for weeks. I am a cancer survivor who due to the aftermath of treatment has had both hips and both shoulders replaced. I have received all of my physical therapy at Think, working with Missy after my first hip replacement and subsequently with Randy for my other three joint replacements. I received thorough evaluations by both Missy and Randy with information that was extremely helpful to begin the process of my therapy. I feel completely comfortable with Randy with whom I've worked for the past three years. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable, pushing me to gain the most from my sessions while staying in tune with my limitations. While going to Think physical therapy three times a week I ride the stationary bike to warm up my body and increase my stamina and endurance. Each session I complete a program on the weight machines and my therapist manipulates and stretches my arms, shoulders and legs accordingly. I have steadily increased my strength, my endurance and my range of motion. All my joint replacements are now functioning as normal joints. Think physical therapy offers a warm, lively and spirited environment that encourages healthy recovery both physically and mentally. I brought my son there for swim training, The pool has an underwater camera that connects to a computer and a bungee cord device which holds the swimmer in place. I have been athletic and involved in sports all of my life. At 60 years of age I began experiencing severe hip pain. I thought this must be it for me - time for hip replacement surgery? My orthopedic physician recommended physical therapy and suggested I try "Think PT" in Tustin. I met Randy Pinkerton who diagnosed me with hip flexor tendonitis (not an arthritic hip like I thought?) - a condition many cyclist apparently experience after years on the bike. Randy put me on a 3 day a week program of warm ups, light range of motion weight lifting, and stretching my hip joint. After approx 6 weeks I am walking without pain and back to most of my regular activities. At this pace, I expect to make a full recovery - and best of all, I am aware of the preventive steps I need to take in order to protect my hips from further injuries.
