Dr. Wang is a conscientious listener and a great analyzer of an orthopedist. I have bilateral hip pain with multiple issues and before I was even seen I was set up for an x-ray so that they were prepared for when he came into the office. He asked great questions and put my limbs quickly through a range of motion and balanced strength test. Dr Wang was very concise in what he thought might be going on and asked my opinion as to how I felt with proceeding with future testing. The appointments were scheduled right in the room for the next appointment and he double checked what I was doing for maintenance and confirmed the stuff and suggestions for additional maintenance in the meantime. read more

Called UCI Health for an Ortho appointment since I have had shoulder pain for over a year. Scheduling was super easy and the receptionist was very nice. I was able to get an appointment for the next day with Dr. Wang in the Irvine location. I was impressed by Dr. Wang and his staff. I never felt like I was just a number next in line. Maybe he's a great listener if you have great insurance. The after visit notes are full of discrepancies. In 2017 I was rear-ended, at the time I had driven stick shift for 23 years, (automatic 4 months). Upon impact, I instinctively pressed the foot rest where the clutch would be, therefore absorbing the impact with my left leg. The impact bent the frame of my vehicle, and unless I'm invulnerable, my left femur was shoved into my hip. As confirmed in all imaging! See image, left hip upward tilt. In 2021, (not 2018) My son and I were rolled several times when a driver cutting lanes drove into the back end of my truck. The seat belt locked pulling at my legs, I have no recollection after the first few seconds I saw spinning and I saw the paramedics coming who help me. The second day after the accident I lost use of my leg, collapsing when I got up to the bathroom. After I stretched and adjusted my body, I was able to walk the next morning but I cannot lift my leg since then. (I've gotten good at adjusting twisted my body after 8 years of being ignored by doctors). October 2023, I had an arthroscopic MRI, ordered to prove me wrong, however, the imaging showed a tear in my labrum. After the findings, it still took doctors almost a year to refer me out to a qualified orthopedic surgeon, doctors kept pushing me to go to Pain Management. Why fix the problem when we can give you meds! I thought things were going to get better, then I meet with doctors who make assumptions about you as if they had been in the accidents. Dismissing the years of excruciating pain I've been in, and minimizing the problems. This doctor declared my injuries to be wear and tear. I couldn't believe what I was reading. "Her pain is somewhat out of proportion to her imaging findings." I've been in 2 major accidents and despite receiving inadequate medical care, I have managed to improve my condition on my own. Unfortunately for me, there's only so much I can do and every day is a struggle. I see senior citizens with more mobility than me, having been athletic all my life, I feel trapped in my body. Hubris seems to be a malady plaguing the medical world, the more specialized you are, the worse it is. read more

Dr Wang performed my hip surgery a few years ago. I was in excruciating pain with my hip popping out of place for years but didn't know why it was happening. He was very kind and compassionate. He took the time to listen to my problems, explain to me what was happening with my hip, thoroughly review my tests/ scans and gave me his best recommendation. He performed my surgery and fixed everything! I have absolutely NO more pain in that hip and life is great! I am now a few years post op and looking back to appreciate his hard work and how he helped me to be able to walk again without pain in my hip. My husband was looking for a orthopedic specialist for shoulder pain. We found Dr. Wang on our insurance page and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. He operated on my husband's rotator cuff and the biceps. The surgery went above all expectations especially since the tear was much more complex than originally diagnosed. Dr Wang was the FIFTH orthopedic surgeon I visited for the pervasive knee problem I have had for most of my life. My knee pain was increasing so much that it was to the point where running was impossible, stairs were excruciating and walking was becoming unbearable. While all the other surgeons sent me away with a cortisone shot for arthritis, Dr Wang described instantly what the problem was and how we can fix it. The care and attention that I have received from Dr Wang and his staff has been terrific. He personally spoke with my insurance company to help them understand the necessity of the procedure for both knees. He listened at each post op appointment and referred a top physical therapist to help me with specific concerns I had in my recovery. He very much cared about my recovery. I am about to have the same procedure for my other knee and I know that I could not be in better hands. read more

Dr. Wang is the gold standard of a medical professional. As a veteran who gets the majority of his treatment at the VA, I have yet to experience a Dr., who genuinely cares for his patients. As a orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Wang is a perfectionist, I had a Hip arthroscopy labral repair, and I felt as if I was able to stand within 2-3 days, however, I followed his detailed post op instructions and remained on crutches. I felt defeated by the medical authorization process that is required anytime you have to do anything outside the VA, just to get outsourced to UCI for a surgery the VA "does not provide" was an everyday uphill battle, it took 5 months. Without expressing my concern for rehab out of fear of another battle with the VA; Dr. Wang told me that he will be sure to get me the physical rehab required to allow me to heal properly, he wrote me a letter to deliver to the VA and it was approved. The level of gratitude I have can not be expressed in words, I served as a field combat medical specialist, corpsman, in the military for 8 years, 3 combat tours, and I have not seen a doctor that cares this much about his patients since the Doctors I served with on active duty that trained day in and day out with marines and corpsman in preparation for combat tours over seas. Dr. Wang is amazing! I was recommended to him after struggling for months with chronic knee pain. He quickly diagnosed my torn meniscus and scheduled me for surgery later that month.
