I like the doctor. He's nice enough. He seems to be good at what he does. This place feels like an assembly line. The volume of people is staggering. For me the parking sucks. It's not the doctor's fault but they should offer a discount or ticket validation. Back to the doctor. I don't feel like he actually listens to the patient. It's all about getting you in and out as quickly as possible. It feels like he sees 20+ patients in less than 10 minutes. My last visit was like a whirlwind. This is actually my second time having surgery with this doctor. I think he is good at his actual physical job. However, things get missed when you move so fast. I heard he was possibly retiring maybe he's trying to close up loose ends? I didn't get to discuss some of my concerns at all. Maybe at the next follow up it will be better. I tore my knee went to see this doctor and I told him I needed to get back on the mat as soon as possible. He assured me with the amount of damage I had to my knee he would get me there. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Gillman. First, he is always on time for his appointments. Second, he is very thorough and knowledgeable. I have had 2 knee surgeries through him and have had great results with both. Third, his bedside manner is top notch, he explains everything to you is a way that is understandable. Fourth, he includes you in the decisions for your care. He presents all options to you and gives you all the "pros" and "cons" for your course of treatment and values your decisions for your care. I'm a 63 y/o woman who needed a total knee replacement and could barely walk on my knee for 3 1/2 years. I was very scared being it was workmans comp related and not knowing the surgeon I was sent to. Dr. Gillman put me at ease, answered all my questions, and performed THE MOST AMAZING surgery I could ever ask for. I was up and walking a couple hours post op and went home a couple hours after that. I had no pain except achy muscles afterwards and I CAN'T WAIT for him to do my next knee in the next month or 2 after getting this one strengthened a little more. I was very impressed with Doctor Gillman at the 'Restore Orthopedics and Spine Center' of Orange, California. Dr Gillman is the orthopedic surgeon who put my ankle and lower leg back together. The entire experience exceeded my expectations, and greatly reduced my pre-op and post-op anxiety. All the staff were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I went under the knife at ~6am last Tuesday, and was back awake at ~7am. It was surprisingly painless. I think a lot of that was the staff informing me every inch of the way through the process, and letting me know what to expect afterwards. Ideally, I won't need Dr Gillman again, but if I do need an orthopedic surgeon again, Gillman will be my go-to doctor. read more

Dr. Gillman's staff is unresponsive to all forms of communication and if you are lucky to speak to someone they do not follow through including Dr. Gillman. During your appointment they are fast to push you out and will not listen to your concerns or issues you are having. This office has issues with submitting approval papers to insurance companies and as well as sending prescriptions to the pharmacy. Once you walk out their door you will never get any help from his staff or Dr. Gillman if you try contacting them. They provide no help for pain management and just continue to set appointments for you weeks out at a time. First few appointments were okay and happy with Dr. Gillman but once you have surgery it goes down hill fast. I recommend finding another doctor. If you read other reviews on him, everyone seems to have the same problem. read more

Greetings to all Dr. Gillman at Restore Orthopedics & Spine Center is a in my opinion 5 Surgeon I needed a total hip replacement and dealt with pain for 7 years , now after surgery and despite the scar on the side of my hip , I'm on my way to full recovery and pain free a little discomfort but in time that will diminish. 06/01/2019 my husband met Dr Gilman for an initial consult on his knees. We knew he needed surgery, at the time I was the priority with my ankle. Dr Gilman performed my surgery flawlessly. Recovery took many months. COVID arrives.... We decided to put off my husbands surgery. His condition steadily worsened as COVID continued and the hospitals closed for all 'elective' surgeries. 10/05/2021- we are finally able (following insurance changes also) to get in to see Dr Gilman again. He was so wonderful. He is fast, professional, and kind. Surgery was immediately scheduled for Nov 4. It is now Now 18, 2021 my husband is walking without assistance. Had knee surgery in 2017 and this doctor just was not on his game that day, as I walked out with my walk not right. Went to another doctor, had an MRI and it was 31 degrees out. Had to have another surgery on the same knee (2018), with a new knee put in and yes I walked straight. During the year it took to find out why the first surgery did not work, after months of PT and exrays, Dr. Gillman could not find out why I was having so much pain and wanted to redo it, I said no way will you touch me again. Dr Gillman is the absolute best in his field. I was in need of two total knee replacements and in just two weeks since my left knee surgery I'm pain free and walking without any assistance. Dr. Gillman did a great job repairing the ligaments in my ankle after I injured them in football. I was not expecting to feel confident to walk on it after my cast came off but it felt solid afterwards. He did a great job and the scar is healing very nicely already. After reading some of these reviews I just had to leave mine. My first appointment with Dr. Gillman was very straight forward. We discussed my issue with my ankle, tendons and ligaments and he gave me a choice. He could either operate or I could wait and see if it healed on its own. I chose surgery. His office staff is amazing and is really good at answering questions and relaying messages to Dr. Gillman if need be. My pre-op appt was quick. Went over everything, got my prescription and got paperwork to take to AAA for temporary disabled parking permit. Dr Gillman did a full knee replacement on my left knee on March 2, 2023. I arrived at the surgery center at 5:00am for 6:30 am surgery. Everything went as planned and I was home at 1:30 pm the same day. I have had Zero pain from day one. I stared my PT the next morning and continue doing so 3 times a day. On my follow up visit with Dr Gillman he took X-ray's and my implant is perfect Dr. Gillman explained everything that would happen before and after surgery I'm feeling great and look forward to getting more range of movement everyday. I had been putting off total knee replacement surgery for over 3 years! I was nervous I wouldn't get the results I was looking for. I had the surgery about 4 months ago and I can't tell you how thrilled I am with the results!! I had an appointment with Dr Gillman a few weeks ago. I spent 2 hours in the office in total (30 min before being called back and 1.5 hrs in a waiting room) before the staff came in to inform me that Dr Gillman had left 30 minutes prior because he didn't realize I was there. The staff and office is so unorganized. After this happened they put me with a different dr. They informed me the other doctor was in network. Which they did not in fact check. I was then told by my insurance the Dr was not in network. When I tried to get this bill handled because I was told the Dr was in network their billing lady Debbie was extremely rude and had an attitude. I told her I did not appreciate her attitude and she told me to pay my bill and hung up on me. There is no reason for me to be treated this way. Horrible patient service from day one read more

One of the best doctors who has ever treated me. His staff is friendly and have gone out of their way to make a tough workers comp injury as easy as possible. I tore tendons in my left foot and Dr. Gillman did the repair surgery. One thing anyone will tell you about Dr Gillman is that he will not waste your time. He walks fast, talks fast, thinks fast and his knowledge is incredible! Other than my initial consultation, I don't think I have spent more than 20 minutes total in his office (that includes the appointment where I had my cast cut off and replaced). He will give you all of the information you need in a short amount of time but will spend as much time with you as you need to feel comfortable. I've been going to Dr Gillman for the past 5 years for treatment to both my knees. November 2021, Dr Gillman performed total knee replacement on my right knee. Best decision I ever made, Dr. Gillman did an outstanding job, I was walking without the walker within the first week and even that early after major surgery, I was no longer feeling the same pain I did prior to the surgery. Dr. Gillman explained the entire process to me, and I was very comfortable with him performing the surgery. It's now 2 months since the surgery and total success. On 9/7/23, I was scheduled for total knee replacement surgery with Dr. Gillman. I arrived that morning and was greeted by the staff. The staff was very kind and professional and helped put my nerves at ease. I met with Dr. Gillman prior to the surgery and his confident but polite manner made me feel more comfortable about the pending surgery. When I woke from the surgery, i was a bit disoriented from the anesthesia and his excellent staff was there assisting me. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Gillman and his staff, they are the absolute best. I followed Dr. Gillman and staff's direction down to the smallest detail in the recovery process. The recovery process had a few days of being tender but it wasn't really that bad. I'm just 9 weeks out from the surgery and have regained almost full use of my new knee.
