My friends and I drove over an hour to come here, so we were really excited for a special experience because we heard the vibes were great and the drinks were yummy. Unfortunately after our experience I would not recommend this spot for larger groups. We had a reservation for 6:30pm and got a text confirmation that our table for 6 was ready. Turns out it actually wasn't ready and then we ended up waiting for 30min to be told our reservation was for 3 people not 6, and it was going to be a longer wait. This was confusing for us because they had told us our table for 6 was almost ready and we had the text messages to prove that we had a reservation for 6 people. The girls at the front did not apologize or seem stressed at all for this mixup and it kind of felt like they were trying to blame the situation on us. We ended up waiting for 45min to be sat at a table and I asked to speak to the manager. She was very friendly and apologetic, but didn't comp an appetizer or offer anything for the issues we had. She just blamed the situation on new staff and it being a weird night. My food was great (the wagu ragu) but others at the table were disappointed with their meal (the chicken). At the end of the day we did appreciate the apology, but we won't be back. read more

I've been wanting to go eat at this restaurant for a while because of the name and interior but was left sadly disappointed. No failure of the staff, the service was great, atmosphere and décor was right up my alley, massive cocktail list. But it appears the corner that they decided to cut was the most important one, the food. Partner had the NY strip and requested it medium rare, received it more medium well. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly and the sauce delicious however the fries that were served as a side were some mass produced freezer section special they tried to zhuzh up with some batter. The signature wolf bread tasted like a mall pretzel with some herbs and cheese, oddly the butters that are served along side were tastier. The crab and corn hush puppies had too much lemon it was actually making nauseous by the last one but they were cooked well. My sister said the sauce of the Wagyu Ragu was dangerously close to Chef Boyardee and backed up by her husband who enjoyed but didn't have much to say on the prawn chili pasta. This place has the looks and the name attached to be a fine dining establishment but it performs at the level of a dressed up sports bar. read more

Was looking forward to trying this place. Unfortunately a forest fire started and closed the highways to get up to the lake. The only route available would have taken almost 2 hours to drive from Reno and we would have missed our reservation time. When we called to cancel and explain they still charged the credit card $75 and said the only option was to dispute with the credit card company. WTF?! Don't think I'll bother to ever try it now. Terrible customer service. Mind you the fire is all over the news here and impacting thousands of people so it's easy to fact check our reason for canceling. read more

Decor is beautiful, imaginative and makes you feel that you've been transported to storybook land. I love the wolf motif that carries through every aspect from serving implements to statuary and menu names. I had the Bitch in Heat, spicy margarita with cactus and mezcal, tasty as it was pretty. My husband had the wildly whimsical Huff and Puff, well you just have to see it to believe it! Aurora behind the bar was a talented and friendly artist of mixology and presentation. Both times I went were great. Sat at the bar and had sliders and a blood orange shot. Sliders were buttery and melts and the shot was like a refreshing pallet cleanser. The second time I had lamb with plumbs and potatoes. Again very delicious. A little salty for the lamb but for Tahoe and "high end" casino quality it was great. read more

Food was good, servers tried to make our experience as enjoyable as possible but unfortunately the experience was already tainted due to a rude, disrespectful, and unaccommodating hostess. We had reservations and they sat us at a table that had high seating chairs and a low table so we had to lean over to eat our meals and due to back issues it was getting very uncomfortable, so we asked if we could possibly get another table or at least another chair and she said no to both and that we needed to be ok with what we had.. even though there were several 2 tops available the whole time we were there, so I had to eat standing up. Never had such a crappy experience in a nice restaurant. For those prices such a simple request should not be that difficult. Unfortunately we will not be returning and Wolf was one of our favorite restaurants to go to when we were in town (Lake Tahoe) very sad it had to be this way read more

Whoever gave this restaurant more than 2 stars recently is completely lying. To start, despite having reservations, we had to wait 30 minutes while they seated walk-ins before us. The smell inside was horrible, and the place was unkempt and dirty. They actually seated a couple next to us with mounds of food at their feet, left from the previous guest's high chair. When we asked why the prices were different on the cocktail menu versus the dinner menu, the server took the cheaper menu away and said it wasn't supposed to be there, insisting the higher prices were correct. My wife ordered the $65 sea bass and got a 2.5 oz overcooked piece of fish with a few cherry tomatoes. I ordered the brick chicken and got a piece of thigh with half-cooked potato and carrot pieces. Lastly, we asked if they had Bloody Marys, and the server had no idea. She came back and said they didn't. How does a restaurant that serves cocktails with exotic flowers and juices not have a bar staple like Bloody Mary mix? Never again. Overpriced, dirty, and unappetizing food. read more

We were a party of six, guests visiting from Portland, Palm Springs and Locals. All of us were super excited to try Wolf for the first time. First, the decor was amazing, beautifully appointed, creative, elegant and fun. We were sat at a table that was awkward for six people however, one person was like "odd man out" so it was hard to have a group conversation because of the seating configuration. The server welcomed us and we ordered speciality cocktails (drinks were between $23-$26 per drink). The drinks came out and we asked to keep the wine list as we intended to order wine with dinner. We ordered two appetizers and only one came out with the drinks. so we asked for the second one again. The server acknowledge the miss and would re-ordered. The server then wanted to take our orders for dinner. Dinner came out quickly (delivered by a runner and entrees served to the wrong people). The second app never made it out. We were never asked if we wanted another round of drinks or wine with our dinner. We were prepared to spend the money on good wine but we were not given the opportunity to do so. Food was good but not special. We were asked if we wanted dessert and we declined. We asked to split the check into two separate checks, the server said that wasn't something they were supposed to do because they automatically charge a tip for a large party... of 6 People. The entire experience lasted exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes. Felt like they needed the table and we were rushed out. The experience for us is a "MEH". read more

Spent some time at Wolf Restaurant last night and was totally impressed! We sat at the bar to get a feel for the place and met a few of the friendly, knowledgeable and professional bartenders. One in particular was amazing. Her name is Sydney and I'd ask for her again. But like I said, they're all personable and well trained. That's what was most impressive. This restaurant just opened and yet the servers know the menu well. We asked quite a few questions and always got a well informed answer. The food menus are very fun too. The food options are well thought out, and surprisingly well priced. From the CAVIAR SNACKS, to SMOKED BOURBON JIDORI BONELESS WINGS to PRIME RIB SLIDERS, the menu is delightfully surprising. I mean, when was the last time you had LOBSTER CEVICHE CRISPS? Keep in mind, this restaurant just opened and you'd expect there to be a glitch or two. And yet, everyone was providing the 5 Star experience you'd expect from a restaurant that's been open for years. The restaurant is decorated in a classy, but playful way. With lots of very comfortable options for seating too. We kept looking around and discovering all the details of the decor. We can't wait for warmer weather as the front opens up to become an open-air experience for those who like to be out in the Tahoe air. Wolf was incredible. The restaurant is decorated in beautiful black and gold without being too dark. The lighting is from beautiful fixtures that draw the eye without being distracting. There are tons of different little touches to notice throughout your meal. We got there a little but before our reservation and sat at the bar for pre-dinner cocktails. Their apple butter old fashioned for 2 was amazing. Spirit forward but still balanced with fall flavors of apple and orange. We did have to remind the host ourselves when our reservation came due. Our meal was fantastic. Goats cheese croquettes with hot honey and pear/cabbage slaw are a must-get. My wife had the shrimp pasta with Calabrian chili and shishito peppers, and it hit for the spicy notes they wanted. I ordered the filet with bacon-wrapped asparagus. It was cooked beautifully, and accompanied by the cutest gratin potato and some truly stunning melted cherry tomatoes. Our waiter Charles was able to recommend a fantastic wine with my steak, as well. Speaking of service, it was top notch. Other than having to remind the hosts of our reservation once we were at the bar, of course. Our bartender Trevor was attentive and knowledgeable. Both the house signature and classic cocktails we had were delicious. And I've already mentioned our waiter. He was knowledgeable without being overbearing, and attentive without hovering. I never wondered where he was, he just appeared at all the right times to fill up a glass or clear a plate. All in all, we'll be back for sure. I am so disappointed to write this review. I hate writing negative reviews, but there is so much room for improvement here. We were in town from San Diego and chose Wolf as our first night's dinner, excited to see what LVP had up her sleeve as fans of her and her shows. On arrival, we had to walk through the smelly casino -- with unclear signage how to get there but once we finally arrived the decor and ambiance was beautiful. We were sat by the hostess but without a drink menu. When we finally got one, we didn't get our drinks for quite some time, but our appetizer of the famous goat cheese balls (HAD TO) arrived quickly after. They were good, but after we got our appetizer it took AN HOUR to get our entrees! In that time, we were rarely checked on by our waiter (almost as if he was avoiding us). We had empty drinks that needed refilling and there was no acknowledgment for how long we waited for our dinner, or any sort of compensation for the negative experience - I'm not expecting comping the dinner, but maybe complimentary dessert to make up for it or something. We didn't want to make a huge fuss because we were both in the service industry, so I know this happens but I also know and have had experience in how to handle a situation like this and it was the reaction (or lack of) of the staff/management that was disappointing -- especially at the prices you pay here! When we finally go our entrees, we got the wagyu ragu pasta, lobster ceviche crisps and mac and cheese. All were underwhelming. The pasta was greasy and felt like it was under the heat lamp for a while and somehow after waiting an hour -- my mac and cheese wasn't even piping hot and the flavor was nothing to write home about. We spent over $200 on this meal and felt like we got robbed for the experience we had. I know LVP would not be happy. read more

Luckily we made a reservation 2 months in advance otherwise there is no table seating without a reservation. Waiting for the bar takes about 1 hour for 2 people. The ambiance is hip elegant and lively. This was the best part of our experience and met our expectations. The servers were kind and had great in depth menu knowledge. They were rushed and I could tell very busy. There are staff members constantly walking around refilling water which is great. We were really let down by the food. The food quality and taste was sub par. We ordered the goat cheese ball that were really cold. The fish and chips were dry and tasted bland. The prime rib sliders also lacked any taste and the meat tasted old. The drink menu is very unique and every drink is crafted to perfection. They have a fun ski shot for 2 or 4. I recommend going when the restaurant isn't so full and maybe let the hype die down for a few months. read more

Had a reservation at 7:45 didn't get sat until 8:05. The ambiance was nice and it was great that the finally dimmed the lights. I was looking forward to the Gouda balls but was informed that they were out along with the caviar and chips and the cobbler. Under my reservation I mentioned that it was my anniversary and not once was anything mentioned, no big deal though. So we placed our order (burger and spicy shrimp pasta) and was only checked on once after that. The food came out and instead of the shrimp pasta I received the wagyu pasta. I informed Aaron our waiter and he said sorry. Took my plate and said that it would be out shortly. About 14 minutes passed and my correct dish came out. However, my silverware was taken and new ones weren't brought out with the corrected plate. It's unfortunate that a restaurant that is supposed to be the "nicer" option really dropped the ball on the customer service aspect. You pay to have top notch service in establishments like these. The correct way to handle this situation was to take the dish off the bill, have the manager come over and express apology or at least offer a dessert, but we got nothing. We had a dinner reservation after and had a really nice server. We had the wagyu ragu and two of us split the New York strip. I'm super disappointed in the experience I had here. When I went to make a reservation there were none available, totally fine so we waited in line for bar seating. The host/hostess told us it would be about an hour wait, again totally fine we will wait we didn't have a reservation so we stood and waited! What made us end up finally leaving was watching numerous people in line (behind and infront of us) pay off the host/hostess to be sat next and magically a table would open up and they were called next. We watched one group slip $100, another group then followed, and the people behind us then did it as well and they came and took them first. I was super excited to come here, and willing to wait but apparently you only get sat if you pay the staff off or know them. We ended up leaving and I was super disappointed. The atmosphere looked amazing, and everything looked like it would be really good. Hoping next time they have different people working and we will try it again. read more

Went two nights in a row because we were so excited to try this restaurant. Service was absolutely amazing. All the servers, food runners, cleaners were so incredible nice. Also it was the best food I have ever had. We tried: Bread, wings, cheese balls, Mac and cheese, steak, and burger. I was so impressed by all the flavors. Unfortunately our drinks were not very good. I have given this with great, great regret because I had heard many things being a local that lives here and I have also been so, so many times to SUR in LA. First of all there is no contacting the restaurant and talking to them directly at any time for any reason even if you want to ask if they have certain foods or can accommodate handicap they don't talk to the public. This was explained to me by Harvey's many times they won't even connect you. I arrived at 8 PM as a single reservations was useless. By 815 I was happily seated and i couldn't even order a drink because i sat in my seat for over 20 minutes and nobody would look at me acknowledge me absolutely nothing like i was a ghost!! So now it is a quarter 29 almost and the bartender walked up and said hey what do you want? I ordered several small appetizers and was looking forward to a very good meal. I was served one appetizer and after an entire 30 minutes now it's almost 930 the second appetizer never came. Far tender was busy sitting next to me talking to other employees and he never mentioned anything. Finally I had to tap him on the shoulder and say excuse me, I'm wanting to know if my 2nd Appetizer is coming he said no! They ran out and What you ordered look bad and you wouldn't like it anyway he offered nothing else no apology absolutely 0 and he said no if you were going to Order a main dish it's too late!! I inquired were you even going to tell me that I'm not getting the rest of my food or what question mark he said yeah this happens all the time. To be Frank it's horrible because I couldn't eat a dinner after being there 42 freaking hours no apologies didn't offer suggest anything else because it was clear the minute I sat down with the greatest regret, service was horrible and they really don't care. So I checked with other restaurants of the same or similar quality and they have heard nothing but complaints about the horrible service and it's a shame because they usually stand on service presentation and it doesn't matter what you order if the service is bad and rude it doesn't matter what the place looks like. Maybe you should try somewhere else until they can get people who work there that actually care. It's pretty sad when the whole town knows how about the services and they haven't been opened that long. Additionally the casino where they are located charges $50 to park there. Then they told me after I left oh you should have solved park we validate but there's no way for you to get that information because you can't talk to them on the phone. read more
