Warmly greeted and seated promptly. We began with a Blackberry Smash cocktail and the Seafood Plateau. The cocktail was sweet and the glass sticky, but full of berry flavor, nonetheless. The Seafood Plateau was incredible with King Crab Legs, Jumbo Prawns, Mussels, Lobster Tail, Ahi Tuna Poke, and Salmon Poke. It was a tad spendy, but since it's shareable for 4-5, I'd say it's worth it and would definitely order again next time. We also had the Crab Cake, two sizeable patties -- a little bit more flavorful and larger than your typical Crab Cake. The Grilled Broccolini was good, but typical. Lastly, for appetizers, the Crispy Pork Belly was also a hit -- although I did not get a taste as it is smaller and not so much shareable. The pièce de résistance was the Tomahawk Steak. Cooked perfectly medium-rare and served with Chimichurri and Au Poivre sauces on the side. The steak was very flavorful without any sauce, IMO. Served with Grilled Asparagus and Lobster Mac & Cheese. We started with the steak tartare and oysters, both of which were incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Celebrate my mom's birthday dinner at The Bistro and our experience was definitely unforgettable. First of all, I would like to shout out to Kelsey, my server for the night, she was amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and treated my table with a lot of care. This restaurant is beautiful, their setup feels so sophisticated with charming fireplace near the host station. We got seated at a table with a view to the lake. Got recommended Tiramisu Martini and Lavender Lemon Drop, both of the craft cocktail were tasty, the Tiramisu Martini tasted very similar to Espresso Martini but sweeter and creamier, meanwhile the Lavender Lemon Drop have a refreshing citrus taste with the sugar rim, you cannot taste the alcohol in it but it definitely there. For food we started with Lobster Bisque, Kelsey helped us split the soup into 2 separate bowls without us even asking for it, so thoughtful of her. My mom said she love her bisque, for me it's a solid 4/5. Then we got some bread and butter, which was pretty good as well. The main entrée was 14oz Wet-Aged NY Strip, we requested for Medium Well but should have gone with Medium instead, it was my bad but the meat quality still great, then Kelsey making sure to do it family style where the meat were cut for our table, so lovely of her. Kelsey then recommended us to try all 3 of their sauces: Béarnaise, Chimichurri, and Au Poivre, with just $4 extra. It was a great suggestion and my favorite sauce that night ended up to be Béarnaise even though I have always been a Chimichurri fan! We also got roasted root vegetable as our side dish and it was cooked to perfection. It was an amazing experience for me and my mom, and we glad that we picked The Bistro to celebrate her birthday in Tahoe. We visited this establishment for my best friends birthday dinner. Walking in it was nicely decorated, the lights were dimmed just enough and the vibe was really nice. All of the wait staff were extremely nice and very polite. Our waiter made Sistine with the drinks and food. I ordered the Tiramisu Martini 10/10 . We ordered them octopus for an appetizer , I'm not going to lie I was very apprehensive as I'm yet to have octopus as taste as what I had in Italy. I was pleasantly surprised it was perfection. For the main meal we ordered the tomahawk steak, OMG!!!! That thing was huge. 5 of us ate off this steak and there was still some left over. Service was horrible! We had reservations for outside dining and they sat us inside and said the outdoor dining was closed. Five minutes later they were letting people sit outside. Our drinks didn't arrive until we were half way through our meal. The waitress never came to our table to see if we needed anything after we received our food. Whoa...what at a place. The Bistro is among the nicest places in all of Tahoe. Upscale, gorgeous, immaculate, and lovely -- and that all applies to the restaurant, hotel, and golf course. I went with my party of 4 last Saturday night, and what we didn't know is that there was the celebrity golf tournament weekend. We saw Ray Romano, Josh Allen (Bills QB), and Sam Darnold (Seahawks QB). Cool. For food, it's pricey. $60 for the entrees is the average, $17-25 drinks, $11 for a draft beer. Each couple shared an entree and an appetizer or salad to make it reasonable. We, of course, got our own drinks! The service was so great. Courtney, delightful, took great care of us. Walk the grounds afterwards and check out their private beach for guests. So damn nice. Winner. read more

Not the best experience. There was no host greeting for quite a while, and the line of people waiting grew long. They didn't have any outdoor tables, but said we could order at the bar and sit outside. The bartender was forgetful, unaware, and frantic. We ordered a Caesar salad and lobster roll -- it took 45 minutes to arrive, and the restaurant wasn't that busy. On the positive side, the mocktail I ordered was excellent, and the views from the outdoor area are gorgeous. But overall, for such a nice hotel, the customer service here was truly disappointing. The Edgewood Resort and Lodge is beautiful inside, and on the beach. Definitely a 5+ star rating in the lobby and the water. We came for brunch at the Edgewood Bistro. Beautiful restaurant and surroundings. The food was good for he most part, but not excellent for the price. There were no children's menu so we ordered French toast ($25) and short stack of two pancakes ($19) for the children. Nothing remarkable about them. My son had the burger with fries ($29), which was small n diameter, and just a standard burger. I had to he chicken sandwich ($25), and asked if it came with fries. The server said or Caesar salad, so I said I'll have it. Unfortunately I didn't specify fries because the Caesar salad didn't taste too good. The dressing was more like mayonnaise with no taste, topped with Parmesan, tomatoes and croutons. The chicken sandwich was ok. My daughter in law had the rancheros which looked like the best dish of all with the egg sunny side up and a dollop of guacamole. We all could've used a refill of water but it was never offered. For breakfast on Father's Day before checking out, I made a reservation for my dad and I at The Bistro. We were seated out on the patio and since it was a brisk morning, they so kindly turned on the heat lamps for us. It was a very serene and peaceful place to have breakfast, overlooking the tranquil waters of the lake. Our server was very kind and attentive. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered an oat milk vanilla latte to start, which was warm and creamy and the perfect way to start my morning. Both my dad and I ordered the eggs Benedict and thoroughly enjoyed it. The prices are what you would expect for a luxury hotel-I believe it was almost $30 per plate for the eggs Benedict and we did not add crab or anything fancy. If you find yourself staying at the hotel and want to splurge on breakfast, I would highly recommend trying The Bistro. read more

I ate a breakfast, lunch and a dinner here and all the food was wonderful. The Bistro is totally about the food, the quality, and secondarily, the ambiance. It seems that making a reservation is important, especially at busy times, for example weekends. The room is large and accommodating with a nice outdoor patio area, where I ate the lunch. The breakfast and dinner were indoors. Indoors, be aware of the seating. There are two basic types and the lower club chair types can be awkward in that they are too low for the table height. You'll feel like a child with your chin nearly at table height. A bit of an exaggeration, but it is awkward. The menu is quite good with broad selections, yet keep in mind that it can get pricey, but not outrageous. For breakfast I had the French Toast with a side of sausage and a coffee. The toast was delicious, light and well prepared, fluffy. It had berries on top and the maple syrup was high quality. The sausage were two large, plump pieces and a great accompaniment. It was quite a filling breakfast At lunch I had the grilled chicken sandwich which was perfect in every way. The bun was just right and the chicken super tender, and the entire sandwich was very tasty. I got it with fries, again very well prepared; and a side salad. It hit the spot in every way. Being in a bit of a rush the waiter was very understanding and accommodating, including bringing the bill early, when asked. Dinner was wonderful. I started with a half dozen raw oysters. A bit on the small side for my preference, yet good. It came with two small containers on the side for a red sauce or a clear onion one. It was difficult in there was no small spoon or utensil to scoop the sauce on to the oysters. I had the port chop for my entree and it was outstanding! Such a large piece of perfectly cooked pork, sliced beautifully, with a chutney type combo on top giving extra flavor. It got washed down with a very nice, robust Malbec. Finished the meal with a very nicely brewed coffee. The head wait staff are professional and very capable, and helpful in understanding the menu. The other staff, however, do need some extra training as they seem rather amateurish. The reception people seem unaware what to do, and others, like the person filling water glasses did so in a way that was so full it came to the brim, each and every time. This is definitely a top notch restaurant and well worth the visit, especially for the quality of the food. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place, so I'll start by rating each aspect: Ambiance 5/5 - beautiful lake view with tasteful decor Service 5/5 - nothing standout, but solid, fast, and attentive Food 3/5 - this is where I lost it a little. I had the chicken breast, which was $48. To charge that much for chicken, it better be a knockout and it definitely wasn't. It was completely unsalted, and I ended up using the truffle jus from my husband's filet to add flavor. The filet mignon was good, but again not something I'd write home about for $63. A kind of strange experience. My attached photos show time stamps to accompany my story. I had many different fine dining options I was considering and ultimately chose Edgewood due to its reputation, yelp reviews, and my expectations due to the expense in general of this place. My picture marked 1712 was us entering the restaurant and being taken to our table. (Friendly greeting!) The picture at 1718 is the menu I am perusing for dinner, meaning our order hadn't been taken yet. (Bree our waitress gave great service as did her assistant refilling our water) the next photo was a screenshot of the video I took of our food after being delivered from the kitchen and me moving the plates and drinks around for what I like to think is a perfect shot) AT 1725. 1725. SEVEN MINUTES after our order was taken, put into the system, and delivered!!! Our drinks came out two minutes prior. Drinks were AMAZING. Mocktails Lavender lemonade and dragon fruit fauxito. I was literally SHOCKED when our food came out. I think my mouth dropped open. And is it weird to complain that it was so fast? But How did our food get cooked in that amount of time in a fine dining restaurant? I will note We were one of the only tables at that time (filled up around 6 as we were leaving). So, the food, the reason I came. I ordered salmon and they nicely replaced the side of rice with mashed potatoes. (Thank you!) Hubs ordered the short rib. Clearly short rib and mashed potatoes must already be cooked. Unfortunately they were lukewarm, but the taste was really good. My salmon, however, was super disappointing. I think there's a reason they cover it in "creole sauce" (which I chose to have on the side). Now I am VERY plain, but this salmon was tasteless. Salmon is my favorite and I don't know I've ever had a worse filet. It didn't taste bad or fishy it just was like I can't believe I just spent so much money on something that had no flavor. Like not even salt or pepper. This cost me 53$ and wasn't even worth 33$. I tasted the short rib which was better but again, lukewarm. And that was 58$. I know the restaurant isn't going to change their prices based off my review, and I have no problem paying for what's worth it, unfortunately this definitely was not, and I'm surprised given where I was. Very very confusing dining experience. Was this food precooked and warmed up? I dunno it was so strange and I don't think I'd be back to dine in the restaurant but I 100 percent would come to the bar for the same drinks and to try others! read more

I visited The Bistro Edgewood for the second time, but this time, it was for dinner. They had a golf tournament going on thsi week so getting a reservation was a bit hard. The hotel/restaurant was packed. I want to say this is the most beautiful hotel/property in the Tahoe area with amazing views of the lake, elegant interior, and a private and secluded beach. We started our dinner with some drinks - Mai Tai and Himalayan Ruby. Mai Tai was fruity and tropical and well balanced. Himalayan Ruby included Ketel Grapefruit-Rose, Grapefruit Juice, Rosemary Syrup, Fresh Lemon, and Himalayan sea salt. It wasn't as strong as the Black Widow, and the overall flavor was mild. For our mains, we got - 1. Pan Seared Verlasso Salmon - it came with Beluga lentils, shaved fennel salad, citrus caper beurre blanc. The sauce was the highlight of the dish. It was creamy and tangy. The fish was cooked well. 2. Pan Seared Striped Bass - It came with roasted pepper sauce, marble potatoes, tomatoes, snap peas, and watercress. It was the least flavorful dish of all the mains we got. The cook on the fish was fine, but the sauce was very bland. 3. Prime Filet Mignon - It came with a grilled 7oz Filet, seared exotic marble potato hash, mushroom & eggplant caviar, and bordelaise drizzle. It was delicious. The meat was juicy and tender and cooked as requested. Overall, this restaurant is definitely a must visit if you are in the South Lake Tahoe area. Made reservations for my 55th birthday. Had a drink at the bar while we waited for our outside table. Bar area was beautifully laid out with lots of nice options for seating. My wife and I sat on the couch near the fireplace. Staff was pleasant and super attentive. Had a great Manhattan with the clearest big ice cube I've ever seen. Need these ice cubes at home. Once our table was ready we followed the maitre'd outside. The weather was absolutely perfect and planned the reservation to be here as the sun set. Totally nailed that. Beautiful views in a beautiful setting. Waiter was friendly and talkative which I like. Food was, to us, fantastic. Was eavesdropping on the table next to us who were complaining about the presentation of their food? They were unhappy on how the food was plated. We didn't see any issue. Horrible experience. We had a 9:00 AM reservation, arrived on time, and waited almost 20 minutes without a single staff member offering to take our order. We tried repeatedly to get their attention--making eye contact, even waving--but were completely ignored. Since we had a tour scheduled at 10:45 AM and needed to leave the restaurant by 10:00 AM, I finally had to walk up to a staff member to ask if someone could take our order. By then, it was too late--waiting any longer would have caused us to miss the tour--so we had to switch from dining in to takeout. The service was nonexistent, the prices are high, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. I will not be returning and will make sure people I know are aware of how overpriced and poorly run this place is. Don't waste your time or money--it's simply not worth it. read more
