This was our third visit to Wolf. The first time was mixed, the second was AMAZING! Really looking forward to the unique offerings as we were hungry and needed a break from the Casino. It was a dear friend's birthday, more of a girls get together, I was the token husband at the table. What I love about Wolf is Sharing! I personally do not understand the hype around this restaurant. The menu is very overwhelming and over priced! First of all the physical menu was giant and was very hard to maneuver around the table with four other people. There were so many options that I honestly didn't know what to order. The cocktail menu was probably 10+ pages long and each cocktail had a mini description, but it was very hard to select a drink. When I got the drink, it was sour. The consistency was very thick and overall it just was not a pleasant cocktail. I didn't even finish the drink, although it was $20+. We ordered the slider appetizer, and that was honestly pretty good, especially after my cocktail situation. I did not love the goat cheese balls. I thought they were very, very mushy for being fried. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile, so glad I was able to today. Came in without reservations and we were able to get seated right away. Came here for my nieces 35th birthday. The decor of this place is amazing felt like I stepped into a Game of Throne scene. It was a bit dark so I had to use my iPhone light to read the menu. I ordered the double smash burger. I wanted it medium rare but they only serve it medium because the patties are too small. I didn't feel like fries and wanted a side salad instead but they wouldn't just replace it they wanted an extra charge so I didn't replace it. The burger was juicy, well seasoned and an okay size but the amount it cost it could have been bigger. The fries were a small amount but were crunchy and tasty. I ordered an ice cream for dessert. It arrived quickly but no spoon so I had to wait awhile for the spoon and coffee. It was not a solid scoop it was mainly melted by the time I got my spoon. As a huge Vanderpump Rules fan and someone who absolutely loves Lake Tahoe, eating at Wolf by Vanderpump had been on my bucket list-- and it completely exceeded my expectations. The entire restaurant feels luxurious while still being warm and inviting. You can tell so much thought went into creating the atmosphere. We arrived right at 3:00 PM on a Wednesday and decided to sit on the patio. It was peaceful, not crowded at all, and the perfect time to enjoy happy hour. For drinks, we ordered the Wolf-Pop and Cry Wolf cocktails. They were exactly what you'd expect from Lisa Vanderpump-- beautiful, theatrical, and honestly... very sexy. The presentation alone made the experience feel special. For appetizers, we shared the famous goat cheese balls, prime rib sliders, ahi tuna tartare tostadas, and, at our wonderful server Camelia's recommendation, the pull-apart bread. Camelia... thank you! That bread was unbelievable and ended up being one of our favorite things we ordered. Speaking of Camelia, she truly made our visit memorable. She was so personable, friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy getting to know us. After we finished our meal, she stayed to chat for a bit, which made us feel incredibly welcome. Was fortunate enough to make it back to Wolf, and the beauty of the decor hasn't changed. The decor is still beautiful and photo friendly and after a couple years it is still fun to walk through the dining room and seeing the chandeliers and the animal decor. We didn't have a reservation, but the hosts were able to seat us within 5 minutes. We were sat next to the fireplace was a little tight, but it set a nice backdrop to our dinner. During the same week, we ate at the bar and had the same server/bartender Karlie who was professional and took excellent care of us on two occasions. She took the time to greet us, ask us if we'd been to Wolf before, and still took the time to explain specials. She continually checked in with our group to make sure we were good on both food and drinks. Thanks Karlie! The food has remained delicious. The chefs seem to be pretty locked in, the food was delicious both nights. The tuna tartar is one of the best value in all of Caesar's South Lake. A group of us stopped in here for just drinks. The ambiance was nothing short of over the top. I get it's a Lisa Vanderpump restaurant, but it felt to me more like a stop at the thrift store. The staff is incredibly attentive and very friendly, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. Our waiteres, Katarina was incredible. She was very helpful with recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. I asked if they had any vegan meals and Katarina said yes one cauliflower steak entrée not on the Menu. That automatically had my interest and was excited to order and try it. The decor/ambiance is excellent albeit maybe a little over-the-top but on the ground floor on the corner of a busy street it lacks any kind of special view. The drinks and food surprised me, they were actually pretty decent! Nothing absolutely incredible but for example the creamy vegetable risotto was some of the best risotto I've ever had. Pasta dish was overcooked (but what us Americans are used to.) Like most any restaurant, your mileage may vary depending on what specific menu items you choose. Service was excellent and the food prices are very reasonable FOR SOUTH LAKE TAHOE CASINO HOTEL DINING (many entrees under $30 -- cocktails are overpriced in general, low-mid $20's which is typical for high-end casino hotel craft cocktails.) We had a wonderful time at Wolf. We came here on our first night staying at the hotel and loved it so much that we came back again for our New Year's Eve dinner. The ambiance here is unmatched. The space is beautiful, the decor is stunning, and the music really adds to the experience. It worked perfectly both as a dinner spot for two and would also be great for a group. The food was wonderful, the cocktails were delicious, and we had great service during both visits. The staff was attentive and helped make the experience even better. We came to Wolf after having dinner next door, we wanted to check the place out and have some drinks. We were lucky enough to be seated right by the faux fire place. We placed an order for a round of drinks. We ordered the sheep's clothing and big bad wolf. The drinks came out in a beautiful presentation and couldn't wait to try them. Unfortunately the sheep's clothing was not good. I was hoping it would be more refreshing and spicy and it just tasted like it was full of a mixer and had so much cotton candy on the edge you had to pull it off to drink it. Again, beautiful presentation but taste fell flat. The big bad wolf was a little sweet but there was no complaints on that one other than the wolf in there leaving your lips a little black. Not the most convenient. My husband ordered the huff and puff after and he enjoyed that one a lot better. I decided to give it another go and ordered an espresso martini which tasted a lot better. It comes with a donut hole and some chocolate which added to the great presentation. The donut hole seemed to be a little stale but I took it as being more for presentation than to eat it. Since we just came for dinner, we were super hungry but decided to order the caviar. It was mostly enjoyable other than the chips tasting greasy. These are supposed to be hand cut chips which we loved, but there was a greasy taste left in your mouth. Overall the ambiance was a great experience and at least half the drinks were good. I added a lobster tail to my pasta it was extremely tough, but I still ate it,the pasta I only took one bite of, the cherry tomatoes should have been cooked longer they were almost raw and it tasted like it was made with stewed tomatoes or some type of low end pasta sauce in a jar ( for the price I'd expect some type of wine or garlic or fresh grated cheese flavor and no nothing just canned tomato flavor). The filet mignon was OK not bad but it was drenched in a barbecue type sauce, I expected some kind of wine sauce or gravy type sauce or brandy type sauce and no it was more of an A1 sauce all over the potatoes and steak. The price wasn't high compared to other fine dining restraunts but I wouldn't go here again. It could be nice if you wanted to sit at the bar for drinks and maybe bread but i wouldn't even go back if i was given a gift card because all the food was mid. Hit the restaurant around 4pm on a Friday, nice entrance and we were greeted and treated with speed. Once sat our server Evan quickly appeared with positive vibes and communication skills. Peeking the menu I started to eyeball the smash burger. I was up in the air on a decision so I looked to the Yelp gods for help. Evan came table side and validated my smashed burger prayer with a hallelujah amen! After a tasty mocktail the burger of burgers arrived!!! Friendly, bubbly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the lobster tacos to start and they were amazing, they had just the right amount of zing and the chunks of lobster were generous! For our mains we had the 14oz Ribeye and the greens salad with added prawns. The salad was refreshing and the perfect pair with the Ribeye which was a true mid-rare and the sauce I forgot what it was made the ribeeye that much better! Our waters never were empty and Katerina even reccomended the smores dessert with ice cream and on top had a little "Happy Anniversary " chocolate! Loved Wolf and would definitely reccomend! This place was our favorite stop for high end dining and craft cocktails of the week so far. The inside of the restaurant is so vibey and perfect for a special occasion. The bartender we had was funny and personable and accommodated a change in plans for our group. The shining stars of the night were the cocktails ! The garnish and thought into their cocktails and menu is incredible and worth the price in my opinion. The prime rib sliders were the best prime rib sliders I've ever had and my husband wanted to only have another batch as his dinner again! It was delectable. Beautiful ambiance -- definitely the highlight of Wolf by Vanderpump. Service was mixed. Our busser was attentive, but our waitress would disappear at times, making it hard to add to our order. Food was hit or miss. The sea bass was delicious, and the lobster cobb salad was fresh with a great portion. The wagyu ragu pasta was just okay -- a bit salty. The bread had a soft interior but a slightly dry crust, and the butter could use more salt. Dessert was disappointing. We asked for the cinnamon roll to be split, but it wasn't, and we had to do it ourselves. It also turned out dry with bland frosting -- nothing special. This was my first Vanderpump restaurant. I always see the ones in Vegas and they're absolutely stunning. I haven't had the chance to go but knew I would be awed by the decor inside of Wolf! It is so cozy, chic and the attention to detail is insane! Drinks are great. We ended up only getting 2 appetizers and honestly, we were full! I'm glad we didn't end up getting more since we aren't local and wouldn't have space for leftovers. The service was amazing and our waitress was awesome! She spent a lot of time with us talking through the drinks and constantly checked on us and our waters were never empty. Would love to come back again! read more
