It all started with the hostess. We had reservations but had to wait for our table to be set up which I understand but then Hostess forgot about us and had to ask our name again. There was no one else with reservations waiting. Not particularly warm and seemed overwhelmed and this was 9:30 at night. Well past dinner rush. Ragu was very bland. Good texture but little flavor. Now I understand why there were salt and pepper shakers on table, although ours were empty. Server seemed to be put off when I asked for Parmesan cheese to help with bland taste. Others in our group got the Smashburger and were happy. The fries tasted like fish. Change your oil people! Had a gluten alergy in our group and ordered gluten free bun. When brought out server said not sure which one is gluten free, but it looks like this one. Wow. Overall. disappointing and we won't be back. read more

Had dinner for my birthday on Saturday night at Wolf. The drinks were good, the food was OK. Two people ordered the lobster cobb salad at $43.95. When we got it, there was NO lobster or shrimp on it at all. I had to send it back for them to make them again. Really great. The service was very good. The ambiance is cool and unique. The food was excellent. We started with the Wolf Bread and the Goat cheese. Both are fantastic and good sized portions! For main courses my wife had Salmon and I had the Waygu Ragu. The ragu was insanely delicious and rich. Wife liked her Salmon but had a little food envy. For dessert we shared the Pine Cone which is a mousse with Cinnamon Toast Crunch made to look like a pine cone. Very good and cute. Wife had a Bunny slope cocktail which she dug. Reservation was for two, our anniversary. The ambiance and decor are a 10. Lovely spot for dinner, especially for a special occasion. It didn't appear that there was a dress code, as we saw everything from evening wear to casual clothes. This place has been open for a year or more, so our expectations were high. The reception staff were Applebees finest, not fine dining staff. Same for the wait staff and bussers. The effort was there, so perhaps this is a lack of talent in Tahoe. We ordered some cocktails and wolf bread. Probably the best part of the meal. After a couple of average overpriced entries, we had enough. The waitress was kind to recognize our anniversary and bring us a little treat to celebrate and enjoy. While we had high hopes for a wonderful anniversary dinner, we probably made a strategic error and should have gone to Gordon Ramsay's Hells Kitchen which was right next door. read more

Late review! Came here for first time this summer by my request to my husband. I am a huge vanderpump fan and we have been to the Vegas location. I will start with positives. Cocktails are of course delicious! Expect to pay a higher price but know you will not be disappointed. Ambiance is what you would expect from a Vanderpump location. Beautifully decorated, unique, and eye catching. Very insta worthy. Okay now for the cons. My husband ordered the Wagyu Ragu and I ordered the red prawn and chili pasta. My husband's pasta had good mouth feel and initial taste was good but the excessive oil/fat made for a tough finish. My red prawn and chili pasta was okay but I felt that it had too much cherry tomato. They were in big chunks and didn't quite pull dish together as I would have liked. Still tasty but it could have been better. Service was good and our server was very attentive. Overall this is a great place for unique and delicious cocktails but wasn't too impressed with main course dishes we ordered. read more

What a GORGEOUS restaurant! My friends and I came in after a long afternoon of kayaking and came with our appetites well-intact. Wolf did NOT disappoint. We walked in and were greeted by the gorgeous and adorable Asha and a manager named Jay. They got us dialed in with a spot the bar to wait for our table. Coby, Eric, and Haley were friendly and helpful as soon as we sat down. The drinks were fantastic, and the wine selection gave us plenty of options to consider. We had such a cozy seating arrangement in the library on big couches and armchairs. Our server Becca was ON POINT! She was engaged and helpful, and big smiles all around even when we had a couple more friends pop over to join us for a little while at our table. She made some recommendations on the menu and we were SO happy with the food we chose based on what she helped us select. Goat cheese balls = iconic. So rich but the slaw really helped cut the richness. Next, the caviar - so decadent and delicious, as to be expected! We also snacked on the Wolf Bread (so good!!!!) and my new favorite menu item from anywhere in Tahoe: the lobster ceviche crisps - holy SMOKES we almost ordered two more plates of them, they were that good. Becca was such a great server we ended up dropping some serious coin on her tip line so that next time we come back we can hopefully have her helping us again!!! Understanding that they just opened a few weeks ago, there are still several things to work on. It took 45 minutes to get our first drinks and get an order in for appetizers. The "Big Bad Wolf" drink was unappetizing with a thick layer of sugar paper on it. Appetizers never came at all! Entrees only came after being seated for an hour and 15 minutes. Replacement drink of the old fashioned was good but nothing special. Burger was delicious but the pasta my wife had was oily and tasted like it was made the day before. Last straw on this negative review was an upcharge added to the bill after a card was already provided. The increased bill ran without my notice and provided with a "sorry I forgot about this". All the apologies for the bad service were rendered mute by that shady behavior. The manager came over once but never asked how everything was after or apologized for the inconveniences. Hope they can figure out these issues because we love the ambiance and (most) of the Vanderpump drinks! read more

We have been to Wolf at least a dozen times and the reason is that the food has been good and consistent. My wife has had salmon and the sea bass.. both very good even with the new toppings on the sea bass.. I've had the filet several times however the last time they changed the dish by taking away the augraton potatoes and vegetables and the bournaise sauce, and added garlic fries and some fried vegetables that were terrible, even though I liked the type of vegetables but they were not prepared well..the new sauce is okay but not as good as the bernaise. I'm not sure I'm going to order again which is disappointing. The ceasers salad changed and is excellent.. the smash burger is great...the shrimp tacos has potential but needs some type of salsa to give it a little kick..the smore dessert is a killer but you have to split it... The service has been overall very good with only one instance that was a disappointment but overall very good. We will be going back next month...and hopefully they consider a couple more changes... read more

First the place is gorgeous the decor details are amazing. The drinks don't disappoint but the food is so/so. The menu is small a lot of fried food and not much if you're gluten free or vegetarian. They need to change the menu this is not England it's Tahoe give us something other than banger and mash and lobster(more like shrimp) salad and greasy schnitzel. Would go back to sit at bar for drinks but I'll take Friday station or sage room any day. Also the tables are so small and seating is very uncomfortable. We had the sea bass (amazing, great cook, pairings...ummm not very good) and filet mignon with bacon wrapped asparagus (very good, well cooked, little chewy). The app was caviar...ok, but not worth the price. The server was not good, he disappeared and we both think he was on coke, didn't bring a steak knife with the steak and he was completely fake!!! Desert was the smores, tasty, but didn't taste like smores...more of a warm chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. But overall worth the trip and would go again. I'm being picky because of the price, price high and expectations are high!!! Great decor!!! We were excited to get a same day reservation. Being huge Vanderpump fans, we planned to fully enjoy the experience. Got seated at the coolest table with luxurious chairs. Our server couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. She was the best! We ordered the goat cheese balls, colossal shrimp tacos, and fish and chips to share. Everything was seasoned well, served hot, and delicious. The cocktails were a little out of my price range but had to splurge and try the Vanderpump Rose which was delightfully different as I was told grapes from Southern France. Although I think they are officially in their soft open, we were very happy with our experience. The ambience was beautiful but that wouldn't be enough to bring us back. Luckily there are plenty of other positives. On Friday night we sat at the bar and had a number of their signature cocktails which were all uniquely named and stylized. Our bartender, Hailey, was fantastic. She was friendly, professional and skilled. She did a great job with each drink and we tried 7 different ones. We also had the fish and chips that night. The chips were incredible; we just wish there were more of them. We enjoyed Friday so much, we went back for dinner on Saturday. Again, the service was perfect. This time Katie was our waitress and she was great. So were all the other servers that helped. For dinner we had a gem caesar salad, Mac & Cheese, burger and a shrimp pasta that I can't remember the name. Everything was fantastic. Although we did not have the goat cheese balls we heard from multiple people they were also delicious. All in all the service and food were all fantastic. This is a beautiful restaurant. Perfect place to take a date or a client. Or your partner! the surroundings are so lovely that I want to come back. I have the salmon and I recommend it over the Seabass. But the Seabass sauce is spectacular. The service was good enough. We came here for a Bachelorette's wkd as some of us are big Bravo fans. The ambiance is of course elegant and decor was fun and gorgeous. We had a party of 11 so we knew it'd be a handful but our server was up to the challenge and was very kind to us. I hadn't had the goat cheese balls yet and I now understand, they're amazing. They cooked my filet perfectly rare as I asked, I usually ask for it rare bc typically it'll come out overcooked but they did it as asked. I did accidentally knock over my last drink, the dirty martini, so the only reason knocked off a star is bc when I tried to go to the bar to order another drink for my friend who it spilled on (table was already in process of being paid off), a hostess was very brisk with us that we couldn't be there even though the bartender said they'd be right with us, so we just left to get a replacement drink elsewhere. I had been looking forward to coming here so long & boy, was I wowed by the atmosphere, service, food, & drinks. Our waiter, Brian was very upbeat & attentive. The big bad wolf is a must with cherry & vanilla syrups, cherry & vanilla bitters, & rum; definitely a sweet yet not too sweet livbation at its best. The roasted pork with olive oil, onions, & fried potatos is a must; it came highly recommended as I was narrowing it down to that, steak, & sea bass. The pork is so tender & onions & potatos crispy with a wonderful sauce. For dessert, the bannanas foster is to die for with a moist chocolate chip cake, fresh bannanas, smooth, banana gelato & the caramel glaze is excellent. My mother & sister-in-law enjoyed their drinks which included a Peter Rabit, margerita, & a couple others; they enjoyed the sliders & another appetizer. I love the atmosphere & how you are in a forest setting with chandeliers & great pop music playing. So, for a memorable upscale experience with friendly service in an upscale yet casual atmosphere, Wolf By Vanderpump cannot be beat. Keep up the good work guys. read more

Goat cheese balls are a standard and I get them at every Vanderpump I go to. They never let me down. The tuna had great flavor and a pop from the pomegranate. The caviar and chips were good, but the chips really overtook the taste if the caviar. The slider were ok. I am not a huge fan of horseradish, but this was OK and not overpowering.
